Surf City Termite & Pest Control

It went OK. The company was responsive and followed up. They get good marks for communication. The guy who dealt with me was knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, well-groomed. (Sounds like the Boy Scout oath, huh? Well, he WAS like a Boy Scout.) He answered all my questions, was not in a hurry to get to the next job, took his time and made sure I understood everything I needed or wanted to know. When it was all over we discussed future services including the need to deal with the termite infestation he had documented in his initial visit and he answered all termite-related questions. I liked this company and would have continued with them but for the fact that subsequent research uncovered a local company who did an excellent job on my fumigation (which also solved the rodent problem for good and all) for far less than Surf City's initial estimate and was equally pleasant to deal with. I want to make it clear that I am not unhappy with Surf City. They did a fair job for what I bought. The C-grade for 'Quality' is due to the fact that when it was over I still had a rodent problem. The initial steps didn't solve the problem and continuing along that path would not have been any more successful. This is not Surf City's fault, getting rid of a well-established rodent infestation is a very difficult task and it was going to call for a larger investment than I was prepared to make with Surf City. Fumigation was the ultimate solution, but we had to live with some pretty ugly odors after that until the little corpses dried out and stopped stinking. Surf City did a good job as far as I was willing to let them go. Had I not been a diligent researcher and shopper I would likely have given them the fumigation job and they would have solved my problem. In the future I will give them an opportunity to compete.

Spray for for bugs inside and out and set trap we have a lot of fruit trees. They charge for each time they reset the trap even when it is empty. As to future use it is a maybe

My tenant complains a lot, when I sent Surf City out to service the latest issue, the pest control issue was apparently resolved because there were no more complaints

Went great overall. The only real glitch came on my end... To turn off the gas the gas company only needs access to the meter. To turn it back on, they need someone there to check for leaks and relight pilots. Gabby told me this, but I had a mental lapse and missed my appointment to meet the gas company.

I hired this company to rid my home of a black widow that was residing in my living room. I was assured the tech woud kill the spider and remove the carcass. When the tech arrived he also confirmed this. Instead, he sqashed the spider on my ceiling and wall with a broom and left a squashed spider mess for someone to clean up! My house is 700 sf and very crowded so I spent the morning picking up as much as I could to make the job easier for the tech. I forgot the dog food which was within a foot and a half of where he sprayed my kitchen cabinets. He said nothing even though I was still at my home, and sprayed the cabinet next to my dog's food and water. When i went into the house to lock up, I saw what happened and asked if the food and water would be okay and he said to throw out the water. Really??? I do not understand how a company with so many A ratings was so awful! I wanted my doors, especially the front door and windows sprayed and he said he would spray both. I watched him do the front of my house and never saw a window being sprayed and when I asked, he assured he he had done that. Not true! My spider problem seems to be coming from the area around my front door and he NEVER sprayed that door at all. ....... THis process should have helped with whatever crtters I have in my house, but today I am the unhappy owner of a large spider by the door I use to go in and out of the garage from my car. He did not do what I asked and was very unprofessional and I am angry and upset at what appears to be a so-called service that did not resolve the only real issue and stirred up other spiders unnecessarily. I would not have hired a pest control company for normal spraying, since I can do that myself. And after doing a substandarad job, he tried to sell me additional services, when I had already decided I would take care of this myself in the future.

They were great. Fernando & Allan showed up on time, did all the work promised and did it in one day. They really seemed to know what they were doing and were very clean. My house looked better than it did after they did all the work since they touched up all the paint. Very satisfied.

Service man came on time, did a good job pointing out all possible areas of entry by rodents.He also removed one dead rat that had been there for awhile (YUK!) I had had trouble the last 3 years during the winter with rats coming into the attics. The only draw back was they did not do all the work themselves as far as sealing areas. They did seal some open areas with foam, which I have heard different things about as far as effectiveness. But I did seal the other areas pointed out with drywall and screening, and I have not had any rodents so far and it is February already and we have had multiple rainy days..

The service was great.The technician was very professional. I was surprised he wasn't wearing a mask, he said the chemicals were non-toxic. Overall it was great.

Quarterly pest control treatment - so far they have been here twice. They were on time & helpful with suggestions and options for treatment. Have not seen ants in the house since the first treatment.

These people are amazing! The women in the office, Gaby and Gina, were polite and empathetic, trying to assuage my fears that I would be living forever with rats in my house. The specialists who did the actual work - Nathan, Fernando and, especially, Allan - went above and beyond the call of duty. Indeed, Allan was here until 7 p.m. one day in order to get all of the holes plugged and the exclusions completed. Although I'll be happy to never again need their services, I am grateful for everything they did.

Mouse problem. Gentleman came our, examined unit for rodent entry points, set traps. In my opinion I would recommend.

Called them out to set some traps and at first nothing was caught. The rodents were eating the bait and not getting caught. At first I had some trouble getting them to come out and when I did they were trying to sell me more and not issuing the first problem. They finally sent someone out to check the traps and then caught a rodent. The problems were all finally resolved and they worked with me very closely to make sure I had no other problems. I worked with them monthly to resolve any in between issues and now we are able to do bi monthly work. At this point the contract is coming to a close due to no further issues.

They were great. They came out quickly. They found the are the rodents were getting in and sealed it. They caught one rat. They followed up the next week. Customer service was very good, and the service was very good.

Overall, the job was done professionally. They are a little far away, Anaheim to Hunnington Beach.

From my first contact until their follow up appointment the services were excellent. Prompt, professional and courteous. I will use them again if the need arrises.

Bought Angie's list deal of $249 for quarterly pest spray up to a year. Scheduled service to come out to spray inside and outside home to rid of mostly spiders and ants. Customer service was excellent. Scheduled appointment online after hours and received a response early next morning. Getting a convenient date and time for myself was also a breeze. Rep came out on time and sprayed inside and outside of house. I had a baby with me so I couldn't follow him inside the house to see if he sprayed all the areas I pointed out that were problem areas for ants in my home. Regardless, it seemed like he did what I asked him to do; however, a week after the spray when the rain came through, we noticed a trail of ants found their way into our house. Perhaps it was because it was only the first of 4 sprays and we need to consistently maintain spray schedule in order to rid of all the ants that find their way through our walls. Overall, I was mostly please with the customer service and ease of scheduling. I will continue to use this company.

We purchased the deal from Surf City Pest Control for treating pest in our rental house . They are good on communiting and shcedule. The technician came on time and treated pests as their deal promised and re-solved problems. Will use them again.

We called Surf City to come out and do an inspection because we found 1 dead drywood termite and what I thought were termite droppings on our laundry room window sill. Fernando from Surf City came out on a Saturday morning. Despite telling us a time frame of 10:30a - 1:00p, he showed up right around 10:30a, which completely took us by surprise because he was on time. I pointed out to Fernando what I thought were the problems and Fernando was nice enough to take the time to explain to me in details the migration patterns of termites, that 1 termite does not mean I have a colony of termites and what I thought were droppings was metal rust/dust. Music to my ears!! Then Fernando explained that because we just purchased the house and termite inspection was done by another company 2 months ago, that I should call that inspector to come back to do any termite work and inspection before hiring another company because termite inspectors are suppose to offer 1 yr warranty on their jobs, then he proceeded to offer to inspect my home anyway to give me peace of mind since he was already there. He could have told me I had all kinds of problems and charged me an exorbitant price and left me wondering if I had just made the worst decision of my life. But he didn't and I felt so bad for making him drive out to our house that I couldn't ask him to inspect my house for free on top of that!! On his way out, Fernando did unfortunately notice some drywood termite droppings, which came from my roof, but he kindly pointed them out and told us to contact the previous company first before spending money with anyone else and what they should do to remedy the problem. Overall, Fernando was so nice, professional, honest, and knowledgeable, we will definitely be hiring them next year to do our annual termite inspection!

They were professional and easy to work with, they are sending me a report with a bid to fix the existing termite damage.

I was called by the company several days after requesting the services online through Angie's List. The company had a lot of business subsequent to this offer and it took quite a long time for them to come to the house. Two men came to the house on the date set and did the inspection of the house. They treated a few spots on the outside and left. The inspection did not seem thorough and it is hard to believe that there were only a few spots that needed treatment. The men left a valuable piece of equipment in the bushes and called later to ask me to look for it. I had been promised a certificate that stated the company would treat any termite damage that was detected in the next two years, but I never received such a certificate. I think that $999 was a rip-off considering that the men were here for only less than 2 hours, treated only a few areas, and didn't send me a guarantee for future services, as promised. The men were respectful and courteous and the person who made arrangements on the phone was Ok, as well. I would not use this business again nor would I recommend them. I think I paid a very high price for very little service.

The technician was knowledgeable, friendly and punctual. I was pleased that Surf City Pest Control was able to schedule the service the next day. Will definitely use their services for future pest issues.
