In the garage they reinforced some areas where they thought the mice had come in. They were timely and I would probably use them again.

I will continue to use Surf City on a triannual basis to control our waterbug issue. They are professional, easy to deal with, and gets the job done.

day laterI bought the "Eco-Friendly Termite and Pest Control Treatment Package" through Angie's List. I contacted the company right away and made an appointment for inspection a few days later. All my interactions with the company were smooth, they were friendly, helpful, on time or notified me when there was a minor delay. The inspector checked the house and garage thoroughly and explained his findings. After his report was in we scheduled a treatment appointment for almost one month later. They showed up with a crew of two people who worked for about three hours. One of them was mostly busy with reconstructing our railing with relatively rough wood that he primed on the spot (some areas of the wood were not covered with primer so that I had to redo the priming in a few spots before painting it (especially as rain was forecast for a day later I had to rush that). Overall, they seemed to know what they were doing and we did not have any problems with ants and other bugs since (two weeks later). One word about the price: I did not get any other estimates and I think the work they performed was worth the $999 for the "Big Deal". But it was clearly not the $2,500 value they announced for the "Big Deal".

Felix came out on time and inspected the whole house. He was very polite, professional and thorough. Then a few weeks later (longer than I thought--but I guess they're busy) I had the treatment done by two guys (forgot their names). They were equally professional and courteous. They did everything they said they would do. Absolutely no problems. Great customer service!

It went very well. He was wonderful and very professional. There were no problems. He came to the house and told me what he was gonna be doing. They were reliable. He came out at the time he said he was gonna be here. He was very prompt and we didn’t have to waste our time waiting for him. We felt very comfortable with him being in our house. Everything worked out well. The price was good.

Great, they have come twice and a great experience both times.

I followed inspector. Asked lots of question about what he was looking for: season termites fly, difference between old and new nest, and why certain area got infested. He show me a patio joust where it got infested. On the joust, the previous owner drilled 2 inch holes for a laundry rope. It showed where the termite got in. He also crawled below the floor and attic. He pointed out other animals (probably rat) and where it probably entered. Surf city quoted price for damage woods, other small items, and full tented. I am do it yourself guy so the inspector told me what I should do on small stuff. I fixed those items. I got Surf City to tent the house. I've gotton other quotes for less, but they got my business due to their thorough detail termite inspection. I will definitely use them in the future.

Tech showed up right on time. Gave me a detailed explanation of what to expect during the treatment. Did everything that was promised in the initial inspection. Did a very thorough job throughout the house. Explained to me in detail my warranty and future treatment options along with pricing and even gave me a bid on the spot for additional work needed. This was a great service, exactly what I was hoping for and I believe this was a much better option than tenting. The office was also on top of my scheduled appointment and when I forgot to send the signed work order to them prior to my appointment they were kind enough to remind me I still hadn't sent the paperwork in. I appreciated them reminding me on such short notice.

Surf City Pest Control did an inspection of my property and determined whether we needed a termite treatment done. They concluded that we only needed a spot treatment and not a full tenting (which was covered by the "Big Deal" we purchased. We then went ahead and scheduled the treatment. It was easy and quick both the scheduling and the actual job. The full cost was under what we expected to pay for a more eco friendly termite treatment. Very happy with the ease with which the whole thing took place.

We had a dead rat in our garage and we couldn't find it. It was stinky! We called Surf City Pest Control in Huntington Beach on a Sunday and they sent the nicest young man out to take care of our problem. He showed up two hours after I called (exactly at the appointed time). He found the dead rat under a refrigerator in 15 minutes, removed and disposed of it, and deodorized and sanitized the area. We were so impressed. The cost for today's visit was $225 (well worth it!), but we would have had to pay only $75 if he inspected and couldn't find the rat. He also pointed out places where rats could enter the garage or house due to holes in foundation screening and made other suggestions. We will use this company again when needed.

If there was a grade above A, I'd give it. I selected Surf City through Angie's list as an award winner and couldn't be happier. I was so impressed from the beginning with Fernando that I didn't even consider other bids. If I ever find out their bid was 50% higher, I'd still use Surf City again. From the first "on time" visit from Fernando to give an estimate, to the end of the job, everything went smoothly. I knew we had termites and wood damage that needed repair, so the question was "tent" (kill 'em all) or localized treatment (kills only what gets treated". Fernando went into the attic and saw 26yrs of rat feces and urine (no surprise) and recommended it be removed and replaced with TAP pest control insulation. With that treatment he said we could get by with localized treatment and save the more costly tenting. When all was said and done, I opted for the tenting anyway. There are so many more good things I can say, but I'm not given unlimited review space.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went okay. They were punctual and they were great. It was for quarterly treatment for a year. I didn't have any pest problems so it was more for preventative. I really didn't have any issues afterwards. They should call me to schedule the next quarterly service and it seems like I have to call them.

I paid way too much for what I got and what the job required. It was supposed to include a fumigation of the interior of the home and they didn’t seem very enthused about performing the work. They told me after the work was completed that my termite problem wasn’t that big.

My neighbor and I are conjoined at our garages, so they would have to do treatment on both our houses. They gave me an estimate and came out to do the fumigation. I have received a bill for the entire amount of fumigation they did, it wasn't divided in half. I called their office and was told since I was the one that made the arrangements, I'm the only who has to pay the entirety of the bill. This was never discussed with me.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it was fine. They came out and did their treatment and we are fine with it. It was a standard service, not exceptional, but not bad. I think they were really good.

Fine. The beatle problem went away.

All the "A" ratings indicated above apply. I would recommend Bay Cities to anyone who is looking for termite inspection and treatment. However, only time will tell how effective treatment really is.

We had a termite inspection done on our home. Inspector (Vazquez) showed up on time and did a very thorough inspection of the property, inside and out. The inspection was more than a quick look around like we have had in the past, from another company. Our house is very tall and close to the neighbors, which makes it a difficult for the inspector, but Mr. Vazquez did a thorough inspection job, finding two areas that needed to be treated. He spent time showing us the areas and going over the recommended treatment. We set up an appointment for the following week. The day before the office called with a reminder of the appointment. Mr. Vazquez arrived right on time, did the work needed and went over the yearly service they offer. We are happy with the job that he did and look forward to seeing him again next year or sooner, if we see any evidence of termites before then. Great that they will contact us for yearly inspections in the future. That is just what we wanted. One less thing to keep track of. Terrific job and service.

They arrived on time and did a thorough inspection of my termite damage. They determined that I have extensive termite damage and need a lot more than the coupon covers. Everything was amazing. Both Surf City Pest Control and Angie's List were helpful, prompt and provided the best possible customer service. Unfortunately, we are experiencing a slight financial hardship.

We were very pleased with our experience with Surf City from the initial contact to booking the inspection to the treatment of the premises. We had purchased the $999 special package knowing that the last time we had our home treated for termites (8-10 years ago) it cost well over $1200. We wanted to use a company that didn't tent or use dangerous chemicals but wanted the treatment to be effective. Within 15 minutes of purchasing the promo package on Angie's List, I was contacted via phone by Surf City to book the inspection. The inspection went smoothly. Nathan was our inspector and he was very professional and efficient. He pointed out termite damage to our backyard gates (which we had suspected) and suggested that if we were to replace the gates that we try and coordinate the gate replacement with the treatment so that he could be sure to get into the area where the gates would attach to the house. I appreciated that he took the time to show us termite infestations in various places in the house; he even noted a place where the previous termite company had treated but then didn't completely cover, fix and resurface on the exterior of the house. He even had us take note of a place to keep an eye on in case termite droppings should appear (he wasn't sure if it was from previous or if it had been vacuumed away unintentionally.). We had one wasp nest which he removed but he also found another wasp nest up high near the roof line which we hadn't noticed before. I am not sure whether the specific treatment we had would have been more if we hadn't purchased the special promo package but we are happy with our decision.

Sprayed for fleas in the yard and inside, one visit then a follow-up two weeks later. Did notice a lot fewer fleas outside for about 4-5 days, then they started returning. By the time of the second visit, they were back in full force. Same results after the second visit- fleas were mostly gone for 4-5 days, then back at full force. Much cheaper to buy your own sprayer (at hardware store) and your own flea pesticide and spray yourself, plus you know what you are spraying. Didn't notice a large difference inside- our two cats still had flea problems (even with a shampoo, shave, and Frontline treatment that coincided with the service). At the first visit, we were told that the service provider saw a mouse. A couple of weeks earlier we had caught a mouse that we knew we had due to tell-tale signs in concealed areas (mouse droppings). So I did a thorough search for another mouse, and found one area that we hadn't known and cleaned it. Well after having glue traps with beef jerky (the service provider's recommendation) out for weeks, and examining every nook and cranny for more mouse evidence, we never saw or caught one. So I suspect the provider lied about 'seeing' a mouse, and just saw the evidence, and used that to try and get us to get a monthly service. Second provider also tried to sell a monthly service. Should have been honest and said that you saw evidence, not an actual mouse.

Called Surf City Pest Control to spray the front and back yard for spriders. During the course of making the appointment, discussed the need to have a "barrier" to prevent the driving the spiders indoors. Appreciated the thoroughness of the conversation, without pressure of an up-sell. Shared about a concern for pets and children, and opted for a less toxic option regarding the indoor spraying. Corresponded several times via Angie's List message system to get questions andswered. The day before the appointment, got an phone to confirm the appointment and the time. The day off the appointment, got a call that they were on their way. Upon arrival, quick and efficient. Answered all my questions. Today, no spider webs evident. Great job. Will use Surf City Pest again. Great customer service and effective product and application.

It worked out wonderfully well. They explained exactly what they were going to do. They were very polite. Unfortunately, they didn't get all the fleas. They came back to do it over with no problems. They didn't try to push to some later date, they took the earliest available date and gave it to us. They came out and were extremely polite. They explained once again what they were going to do, did it and we have no more fleas. We thought that was pretty awesome.
