Surf City Termite & Pest Control

We initially requested a few estimates for the work from different vendors. While we did get a slightly more comprehensive report on the termite damage from another vendor, we were still impressed with the detailed report from Surf City. We were even more impressed with the competitive price offered on the tent fumigation service. From beginning to end they answered all of our questions (we've never had to do this before) and directed us through the process. The tent went up and came down again exactly on schedule. Mission accomplished!

We purchased a Big Deal for $999 for termite treatment. We received the treatment and also paid an additional $1500 for repair construction on 4 sites. Felix came out to look over the property and give us an estimate. He inspected the entire house and detached garage, including the attic crawl space and the crawl space beneath the house. He told us we did meet the requirements for the Big Deal, and that he would e-mail us an estimate for the construction work (as we requested) to repair termite damage. It did take longer than expected to get the reply email, but we were happy with the estimate ($1700 minus the Angie's List member discount). We were quickly and easily able to schedule an appointment convenient for us. The crew, Gilbert and Ralph, worked hard, did a very good job matching the work to the existing parts of our house (very visible windowsill on front of house and wall on back of house (seen from back yard). We provided them with paint left from painting the house, and they did a great job with it. Felix arrived to inspect the work before they ended work on the first day. We are still happy when we walk by these areas and see the work they did. Our only negative comment (and it would not prevent us from hiring them again) concerns timing. Every contact we had, they were a little late, but they ALWAYS called to let us know, and they were never more than 30 min. late. They are not nearby our home, and we do know that traffic is unpredictable in L.A. The original estimate said the construction work and termite treatment, etc. would take 1 day. It took 2 full days. They did schedule the second day on a Sunday to accommodate our vacation schedule, and Felix came with Ralph to complete the work, so we were not inconvenienced by the mis-estimate. UPDATE: We did find 3 termites in our kitchen area in September (original work in July); Felix came back out and treated that area for free, as part of the warranty. As usual, they were friendly and efficient.

These guys was quick and very professional. I was out of my home for two days max. Good follow-up and made sure that I was happy with the job that I received. They provided detailed steps all the way through the process, this provided comfortable with leaving them with the care of my home. Great job guys!

So far excellent...no ants for a few weeks...they arrived on time...technician very responsive and helpful. Smell lasted a few hours...not a bad smell either.

I have two more treatments left with them, but after only the one treatment -- all of my pest problems have been solved! I tried for a couple of weeks to treat it myself, but I couldn't get rid of the ants. Surf City has been great! They are the cheapest I have found for a one year package as well!

It went very smoothly. Very punctual, very professional. After he left I noticed some concrete broken up, probably from the ladder. Didn't notice it before he left because I was looking up. I called up the company and the responded Immediately. Even thought it looked like a matter of time the concrete was going to break up (because it being old and cracked) they came out and repaired it. Very happy with their service. Would recommend them for sure!

These guys are fantastic! On time, thorough and professional. They came out and evaluated our rat situation in our garage. Put out poisoned bait stations, sprayed insulating foam in the gaps of our horribly constructed garage, added mesh wire to larger gaps to prevent entry, added a threshold on door to prevent entry, and sprayed inside the garage. They came back a few weeks later to check and restock bait stations and do any necessary "clean up" of rats. Our rat problem has officially been taken care of!! Yay!!!! (And we liked the company so much, that we now use them for our quarterly spraying for ants as well as a rat bait station check).

the crew showed up on time, did what they had to do ,gave us verbal info regarding fumigation and sealing any food in Fridge Plus Pet food and pets on premises. returned at scheduled time to remove Ten crew left area clean. good job overall.

Poorly - never arrived for scheduled termite inspection.

I phoned in my cancellation for initial pest control spraying scheduled for today July 17, 2014 between 3:00pm and 4:00pm. Re-reading the Deal Details, I discovered that I would have to pay more than the Big Deal offered due to the square footage of my property. I would also have to stay out of my house for 3 hours after interior pest control spraying, so that the chemicals could dry and the smell would dissipate. In the future, I will phone the service provider to obtain all necessary information before purchasing a Big Deal. Thank you.

Very pleased. The job was well planned and worked out as planned. Communication was excellent and the two men worked well together.

They had to go three times to do the fumigation, the bugs were still there so they had to go and do it. They were excellent.

That service did not seem worth the price paid regardless of the reason

The service was good. They honored their contract. They said that if they return within a certain amount of time, they would come back to treat for free which they did do, no questions asked. They were good. They were both nice guys, but the first guy was fantastic. He was just excellent. He was very professional and courteous. The second guy was a little less though. It was a good experience. They came out maybe within two or four days after we purchased the Big Deal. It was not very long at all. The price was a very reasonable price.

Performed work as promised. Courteous and professional. Hopefully, this will correct the problem, and I won't have to tent the house.

Company is very professional. The office will call you up to remind you of appointments. The service technician will call you to let you know approx. what time they will show up. They sprayed the entire exterior of house for pest control and I told them where to especially pay attention where there have be trails of ants.

They are waiting for me to have the repairs done then they can come and termite the house. I wanted everything replaced not repaired and they were not able to do that
