Surf City Termite & Pest Control

On Saturday we had two wonderful employees come to our residence and spray for spiders and silver fish. They were punctual and professional and explained everything in detail. The lady who booked our appointment was also very professional and courteous (I thin her name was Valerie). This treatment did not disrupt our weekend. While they weren't able to determine where the pests are coming from, they did tell us there is a 30 day guarantee. We even got an extra discount for being Angie's list members. Thank you so much guys for your service. Hopefully we won't need to use you again but if we do, we will most certainly be calling you up again.

This is the second time I had surf city pest control out for rat problems (first time in 2013) so this was a follow-up appointment. I was happy with the service and will look forward to their scheduling follow ups soon. UPDATE: Turns out that Maurice did not seal up the house properly and Felix came out and said I had multiple holes in the foundation as I found 5 rats in the traps as well as multiple droppings after Maurice did the foam seal. So Felix came out and sealed the foundation again and now they are telling me its another 45 to come out for a follow up. I have foam oozing out of the foundation that needs to be trimmed as well as rat droppings that Felix said he did not have the equipment to clean up. Very poor follow up so beware!!

It's been a year since Surf City Pest Control sprayed for ants and they are just now showing up again. The treatment I did is guaranteed for 30 days and lasted almost exactly a year. It is organic and they promptly provided a Material Data Safety sheet when I inquired about the ingredients. They were completely professional and the treatment was effective. They are honoring the same price they gave me last year. I am very satisfied with their customer service and the overall experience!

I have seen dead cockroaches outside since the 2nd treatment. So far, no more bugs. I understand the need to start with a more mild dose so that human and pet exposure is limited. Once we saw that the lighter dose did not meet my needs, they came back and reapplied with no problems, and just a day or 2 after I called. They also determined that there is likely no home infestation, just the occasional bug wandering in from outside. Great service. They were very professional and stand behind their product. I definitely recommend.

We purchased the package on July 1, and were contacted immediately to set up a day and time. Fortunately, there was space for a technician to come out on Friday, July 3 (two days later), so we were able to get that. Scheduling was easy, and we were given a 1 hour window that the tech would arrive. Fernando (our tech) called that morning, to let us know that he would be arriving more toward the beginning of that window. We were able to get the family ready to leave while we waited for him, which was great. When he arrived, we only needed to sign the paperwork, since everything was pre-paid. Fernando was very thorough, and explained everything before doing it. He put pest repellent in the attic, as well as along the inside base boards and outside the foundation. While we were getting ready to leave, he mentioned he'd seen rat droppings in the attic, and that our attic insulation was a little low. He gave us information on the insulation that Surf City recommends, which is also a pest repellent, and recommended that we consider it if we decided to add more insulation. We had been having huge ant problems inside the house before the treatment, but have not seen anything inside since then! Very happy with the service and responsiveness, and can't wait to continue our treatments in a few months.

Surf City Pest Control contacted me a couple of years ago, having obtained my phone number from my former pest control company because the owner had gone out of business. I was willing to give them a chance. After a few months, I signed up for monthly spraying of the exterior of the home. Two times, I called in between monthly visits to request additional treatments, specifically during flea season when the feral cats roam into the backyard. The company was more than willing to come out and treat these flea infestations. I also hired Surf City to replace the crawlspace access door to prevent critters from getting under the house. The price was reasonable and the door does what its supposed to do. The technicians who work for Surf City are professional and address any specific issues during a visit. I'll continue to use Surf City because they make pest control easy for me.

They have specific ways to deal with certain pests. I have used their services for over three years, and will keep using them due to their reliability and customer service.

It was great - he arrived early, and looked very neat, clean and presentable. He worked fast, and communicated very well. I highly recommend them!

This service was very easy on me. Surf City contacted me once per quarter to set up a time for them to come and spray. They worked around my schedule, called me 30 mins before they showed up and were always on time. The treatments kept my constant ant battle at bay for the whole year. I know it worked because a few ants would start wandering in just before my next service was due. I would definitely use Surf City in the future.

Felix came out on short notice and found substantial termite damage. He came back with a helper and treated everything on Memorial Day Saturday because we would be leaving the house a few days later. They treated or replaced lengths of fascia and support blocks and window frames, and then patched and painted everything so there was no evidence that work had been done. They held to the agreed-upon price, including the Angies List discount.

I had spider issues at the house and the wife wanted to do something quick.I paid for the year service set up the appointment fairly quickly. The technician came on time as they said and asked what I needed done. They sprayed the exterior first where they sprayed around the shed, eaves, crevasses and etc. Then the interior baseboards and garage. We had to stay out of the house for a few hours with our dog. We've done three treatments in three month increments and no more spiders. However I the past few months we're having Springtail issues in the back yard. We have a large backyard which I've been renovating with a new waterwise sprinkler syst. so I've been digging up dirt. These Springtails are harmless however we have an infestation outside and around the pool. I called Surf City to do a touch up at no charge! They came quickly and got the big sprayer out to spray the whole patio and sides of the house. It worked for about a week but they came back. I've done research and these Springtails are hard to kill unless you treat the nests which require different techniques. Internet tells me that most pest control co won't treat it correctly but if they do it's quite expensive. I have one more treatment left so I'll discuss this with them to see what they can do about Springtails. I've bought my own stuff to treat it but I need to finish the yard before treatment. Overall these guys have been great to deal with and are pretty responsive.

My computer was out, called them finally on last week of offer. No complaints about pushing the date, they made appointment right away, showed up and were very through in hunting down the little critters eating my house. Even moved a huge log that was a termite condo. Very happy with the service and will use them again.

The deal did not cover what we needed so we did not use it but the company was nice and professional.

From the original contact to completion of work everyone we worked with were very professional and efficient. Work was scheduled and completed to our satisfaction. Very happy and would recommend to others.

Surf City performed a complementary full inspection with a detailed report, most of which is boiler plate. They outlined the areas of Termite infestation and made a recommendation for a fully tented fumigation. We chose the full tent approach and replacement/repair and painting for the areas in need of repair. Here the the problems: I was requested to purchase three gallons of paint for my project. If you provide the paint they will come to your property and pick-up the paint and paint your replacement boards prior to installation. I spent $97.00 on paint. They used 1/2 gallon. Their report did not adequately specify that their codes on the diagram meant half of the board or part of the under porch storage area. Its hard to believe that on a house that had not been fumigated in 10 years that only half/part of a board or area had been damaged but not the other half? As you can imagine this cause a real problem with the painting portion of the contract. They charged $1785.00 for the repair of the damaged wood which looked like a lot on the estimate, but as mentioned earlier, were half or portions of boards. For that amount of money they repaired three boards (not all five) under the porch and half of the a fascia trim around the house and removed and slapped on some plaster on a dry-rotted protruding support beam. The workmen did an incredibly poor job with the repair of the storage area under the porch. I was told they replace it just as it was before.. if it was crooked then they make the repair crooked, if the door didn't close before then it won't afterwards. Only my great show of displeasure and my threat of calling the company got the issue resolved. OH and they re-used the old crummy hinges from before! The original inspector did not correctly specify the type of fascia board this house required, so they needed to special order it and return after the fumigation. I was so dissatisfied with my project, I had the original inspector return, I had been told over and over again by the workmen that all replacement boards were treated for termites, but my special order board was not. To appease me I was offered a $250.00 rebate which went to $300.00 when I complained about the paint. NEVER AGAIN!

My experiences with Surf City have been awesome. When I moved into my new house, it was full of bugs. I absolutely hate bugs. I can't handle them in any way shape or form. I called for a one time service but decided instead on a deal that included a one time fee for 4 visits over a year period. I've just completed my second call. They are fast, punctual, professional, the solution is non-toxic (important because I have a puppy). For that reason, I gave them "A"s across the board.

They are always on time on do a good job. I will probably use them for my Termite tenting.

Very good! They were very easy to get a schedule for them to come out. They showed up on time and everything was completed in a timely manner. I would recommend them to a friend. The service that they performed was great and also how fast they were able to get out as well as they have been awesome. It is just a four year deal and they come out four times. They are scheduling to keep on with the business and I thought that was pretty impressive.

The Big Deal was $249 to come out four times a year. Once every quarter and then anytime that I needed them to. There was a huge and issue and I called them. They were supposed to come within 48 hours and they did not. They told me the soonest they could come was about two weeks. Two weeks is way too long, so I have been trying to get some of my money back from that $249.

The first time the spraying was not effective. I called them and they came out and sprayed again. The original deal was that they would spray my home inside and out 3 separate times for $199.00 and the work was guaranteed. So, when the first treatment did not have any effect, they came out and sprayed again and considered it to be still the first treatment. This time it worked about 90%. I waited about a month and called them out for the second treatment. this worked well. I haven't seen any disturable amount of bugs until now. I guess the rain has forced the ants inside. I was talking to my friend and she has the same problem with ants. I was going to recommend Surf City to my friend, but when I called them they told me that the offer of three treatments was only good for one year. There was no contract informing me of any time limit. They only gave me a receipt stating #2. I guess by the age of 72 I should know to get everything in writing. What hasj happened to honest dependability? They said they called me twice to remind me of the time frame but that my phone line was busy. I have "call waiting" and I always answer when I'm on the other line. I am sorry, but I just don't believe them and that in and of itself is why I will not do business with them again or recommend them to my friend or anyone else. They also raised the price considerably. So, I will just go back to doing it myself. Is it really that hard to get ahead in a business being forthright and honest? Sincerely, JK

We got them off of Angie's List, and we had a very satisfactory experience with them. They did a good job. They didn't trash my house, and they did the job.

We paid thru Angie's list for an exterminator. When surf city arrived they would not even look at the termite problem in our kitchen. They said they would do a house inspection. But we already knew where the problem was...they refused todo anything about it and left We don't expect to pay $259.00 for Nothing Help
