Description of Work: Shulman Roofing repaired rotten and termite damaged wood and then installed a new roof. | |I dealt with the owner, Joe Shulman. He has on his laptop a great slide show that shows how he installs roofing and the materials that he uses. He left a nice folder with brochures of the various materials and samples. All the materials are from well-known brands with decades of manufacturing expertise: GAF for one. | |Joe showed up on time. He had already been on Google Earth and knew the square footage of the roof so he came ready with a quote. Understandably, he could not quote on hidden items like rotted sheathing, rafters, or fascia boards - but he did quote repairs on a per foot basis - I thought that to be fair and it is standard in the industry. | |His pricing was in line with other bids I received but I think I got more for my money than I would have elsewhere. | |His crew showed up on time and cleaned up after themselves every day. They even used a magnet on a roller to pick up every old roofing nail. They laid out tarps to catch as much of the old roof debris as possible and swept up the rest. At the end of the job, they left the yard immaculate. They even made sure the rain gutters were cleaned of all old roofing debris. There was no sign that they had been there except for the new roof. | |Their attention to detail is second to none. Trees were growing too close to the roof, so they trimmed them and hauled off the branches. | |I made several inspections throughout the job and found their install to be complete and thorough. Everything lines up and was installed in an expert manner. Extra material was placed before the shingles went down in areas that could be a problem later. | |Bottom line: I am 100% satisfied and highly recommend Shulman Roofing. If I need another roof in his service area, I won't waste time getting other bids. And no, I am not affiliated with them in any way. |

Description of Work: Not only did Shulman Roofing's estimate was one of the lower bids I received, it included many things the others didn't like the GAF Tigerpaw felt and the GAF ridge vent. The cost included a lot of wood replacement and all new decking. Overall, very satisfied with the job.

Description of Work: Re-roof !!! Did an excellent job !!!

Description of Work: Two leaks showed up during the mid-December rain storms. Shulman replaced the flashing around the chimney for one leak. For the other they replaced about 6 panels of plywood and underlayment. I got two bids for the job from Angie-recommended roofers. Shulman was the lower of the two. I was able to schedule Shulman quickly. They showed me before and after pictures of the leak spots. I never met Joe Shulman. I spoke with him on the phone but all work was done by his "foreman." Joe was the first contractor I have dealt with in a long time who didn't demand payment immediately, instead billed me about a week later.

Description of Work: Nothing. They sent an auto reply email to my first inquiry, and didn't respond to my follow up inquiries. I hate leaving negative reviews, but I find it frustrating and aggravating to not receive the courtesy of a reply.

Description of Work: I called for a roof inspection on my mother's home in Capistrano Beach, Ca. I reached what seemed to be an anwering service person with whom I left my contact information. That was over a week ago and I have never received a return call....very disappointing.

Description of Work: Re-Roof for a 1100 Sqft single family home. Competitive pricing, quality service, professional team. Joe seems to be a good guy, he talked me through the process, explained options & pro's-con's. They did the job in about 3 days including tear off. No issues w/ work or quality. Primary reasons I selected him was price, personality, and the fact that he's local to HB and has done other homes in my neighborhood. Would recommend to others.

Description of Work: Removed existing tile, installed new felt system and new flashings. Replaced existing tile on back side of house.
