It went incredibly well! OC Home Builders is a family owned business run by Jimmy & America Fischer. Once a detailed plan was created they stayed on schedule throughout the build, even when the nationwide COVID-19 issues arose in March. The only delays we experienced were due to those created by the late arrival of appliances. Their craftsmanship is top notch and we could not be happier with the final results. OC Home Builders are an extremely capable, talented, reliable company, capable of meeting your construction/remodeling needs.

We were extremely pleased with the work of Jim & America Fischer and their staff on the remodel of our bathrooms. They were very accommodating to our wishes as well as following the protective measures for COVID-19. We would highly recommend them.

Our bathroom remodels are currently in progress but I thought it was important to confirm at this time that all the compliments we've read and heard about Jim and America at OC Home Builders are true. Communications about what work was done and what work is next are timely, continuous and friendly. Questions and concerns are always welcomed and are promptly answered in a very professional manner. Work is performed per plan and within budget. Professional results are foremost. Crews always arrive and leave on time. Job site is always left clean each day. For our project, OC Home Builders is working closely with a separate design firm that is providing items like vanities, mirrors, lighting, faucets, sinks, tile, etc. We are very happy with the results so far! We highly recommend Jim and America to anyone considering remodeling their home.

America, Jim and the entire team at OC Home Builders were professional, honest and easy to work with. Communication was excellent. America kept in touch with us daily on the status of the project so we knew exactly what they were working on each day and what was planned for the next. If I had a question, she would text or call right back. The team was always on time and performed quality work. It was a very positive remodel experience and we will definitely hire them again for our next project.

Very seamless. Although it was the first time using this contractor I found them to be very sensitive to the fact that I was residing at the residence while major construction work was taking place. Very approachable, always available by phone and very prompt at emailing responses.

They did a great job, and started right away with the work. They were here almost everyday getting the job done and remained flexible with the changes I wanted as time went on. They really really wanted to make a nice finished product for me. As you can see from the photos the spaces were pretty beat up. It is now complete and very liveable.

My experience with OC Home Builders was excellent! They were on time each day, very professional, excellent workmanship and all at a fair price. I couldn't be happier with Jim's work and his team. His wife America was in constant communication with me each step of the way which was truly appreciated and lacking by others in this industry. I have used a handful of GC's and subs in the past, but have never re-hired them. However, I have already recommended OC Home Builders to a friend of mine and will absolutely be using them again myself in the future. Scope of work: They did an amazing job transforming and old closet with raised floors that use to house a furnace and turned it into a beautiful usable closet. They demoed the raised floors, door and drywall. then put in hardwood flooring, new drywall, a light, shelving, door frame, door, ceiling frame and paint. It turned out perfect! They also installed an attic drop down ladder in the garage to access the attic and installed electrical and lighting. It turned out better than I imagined.

Jim and America are amazing! We are so happy we found them. We did a complete kitchen remodel and bathroom refresh and OC Homebuilders was fantastic from beginning to end! America stays in close contact with you for the whole project and was very accessible to help with questions. The project was on time (amazing!) and the quality of work was fantastic. I work from home, so I had a lot of interaction with the crew, who was friendly and courteous and on-site all day everyday. We’ve had bad experiences in the past where crews only come for a few hours or skip a few days, significantly delaying the project, so we especially appreciated how dedicated everyone was to our project. We absolutely LOVE our kitchen and bathroom now and are so glad we had the chance to work with Jim and America!

We hired OC Home Builders to rebuild a shower enclosure that was failing. It was among the best experiences we have had with a contractor - they were timely, consistently communicated progress, exceptionally tidy and provided an outstanding end-result. Could not be happier.

Great quality craftsmanship and easy to work with people. Three years later the workmanship remains solid.

Overall the project went very well. They communicated effectively. They were flexible and responded to our concerns in a timely manner. They altered the floor plan of our old, disastrous master bathroom and created a walk-in closet. This was all done according to a layout we came up with. Prior to project commencement we discussed with Jim and America what we wanted. We were clear on the layout though sketchy on the details. They drew up a contract that itemized what would be done and the price for it. The contract included a payment schedule. We added on some extra work during the project that increased the final contract price by about 10%. The bathroom fixtures, vanity and countertop, tiles, shower glass and closet organizer were not included in the contract price. Things like the demolition of existing stuff, installation of fixtures and tiles, framing, drywall, painting, electrical wiring, and the under plumbing were included in the contract price. The demolition was fast and efficient and done with minimal mess. They built a stand-in shower, rerouted the plumbing for a bathtub and toilet and wired an electrical layout. They also installed new windows, lights, ceiling fans, a vanity and hung doors. The framing, drywalling, plumbing, electrical work, painting, fixture installations and finishing work were all excellent. Our only complaint is that their tile subcontractor was a bit sloppy. We had him replace some tiles he chipped during install. These replacements were done at the contractor's expense. There were a few project delays that were mostly from our end. For example: the freestanding bathtub we wanted was out of stock and had to be backordered. It took a good 2 months to arrive. OC Home Builders made suggestions as to designers and suppliers. We went with some of their suggestions such as which mirror and shower glass installer to use. However, they worked just as well with suppliers we chose. Things would have gone more smoothly and quickly for us if we had known ahead of time exactly what we wanted and had it lined up to go. During the project they were respectful of our home and privacy as much as one can be during a remodel. They were responsible to be left alone on the premises and they locked up the house if they left when we were not there. They made efforts to keep the dust and paraphernalia confined to the work area of our home and they did a good job of that. They didn't leave a mess when they left. The final result looks good and works great. Jim and America Fischer and their crew got the job done.

Great! Honestly, I really dislike working with other contractors. They're cranky and prickly and expensive. But OC Home Builders was great! Mainly because it's a husband and wife team (and kids), and they have a really cool system going. Jim is picky and pushes for quality and does great work, but America is who you deal with on a day to day basis and she is AWESOME. The secret sauce of the whole equation, really. I swear we must've texted back and forth with her every single day of the 4 month process. She was proactive, caring, smart and got exactly what we needed done. And done right. I never would've thought this aspect of a remodel was that important...customer service, basically...but honestly it's night and day. Jim had the quality and work going strong, while America dealt with us and made sure to keep us on track (making sure we picked the tile on time, etc), she also dealt with the city and all our providers. The Jim/America team is great, and America is BRILLIANT! The final product is BEAUTIFUL, super high quality, solid work that we are thrilled with. We did a triple-bid and they came in right at or slightly below the other contractors. But their service blows the others away. So it's a no brainer!

This is a team that does it all! They did a great job. We had to renovate a couple of rooms and modify an existing bathroom to accommodate an elderly parent who is moving in. With America coordinating the project, Jim and his crew completed everything from beginning to end. They were very responsive and patient with our questions and changes. We were always very comfortable with the crew in our home. They were all very professional and easy to work with. We have already recommended them to our neighbors and would certainly use them again ourselves.

OC Homebuilders built a patio cover for us. They have done high quality work, and we are quite pleased. Throughout the entire process, which included a bit of a hiccup, they were very professional. They are also great communicators and very responsive. Good communication is very appreciated when organizing life around the construction, it is also helps the process go more smoothly and helps to make sure you are getting what you want. The entire team is working to make sure you are truly happy with the project. I would definitely hire them again.

You can't go wrong with Jim and America. The work is so professional and when the unexpected happens, they both jump in to fix it. Our bathroom plumbing for instance was not in good shape--corroded and clogged internally greatly restricting flow. Jim just jumped in and fixed it. When the cabinet-maker sent some incorrect parts, Jim made it work. America is amazing. You get a text letting you know when they'll be there and they actually show up on that day. She is very responsive to questions and concerns and basically just keeps everything running smoothly. Jim and America are straight-up people. They deliver what they promise and their prices are reasonable. I couldn't be happier, that's why we hired them not once, but twice to do the different projects in our home.

It was a pleasure working with Jim and America Fischer. They kept us very well informed as to who would be showing up each day to work and noticed us of any changes to their expected arrival time. Jim (general contractor) was personally on the job site about 90% of the time and was able to field my numerous questions and requests. Jim, his two sons, and his subcontractors were all diligent workers and made good progress each day. As with any project of this nature, there were a few hiccups along the way. Jim and America made sure we were always satisfied with the agreed upon resolution to the issue. We are very pleased with the quality of the finished project and will recommend them to others.

We are extremely happy with the results. First Jim and America are awesome to work with. Jim was great in seeing our vision and making it a reality. America is responsive and keeps you informed of all the paperwork stuff. The contract was very clear and everything was spelled out as to what the contractor will do and what he pays for and what you pay for. It also included a payment schedule which was great. We were never in the dark as to what was due or when. Their workers are awesome, very professional and respectful of your home. They cover everything up and clean up at the end of the day. My husband and I have done several remodeling projects on previous homes and this was the smoothest job.

It went great. OC Home Builders, who I found on Angie's list, responded to my inquiry in a few hours. I had received three bids from highly-rated contractors. I decided to have OC Home Builders perform the construction. They pulled permits and started on the exact day that they had promised. We were amazed at their efficiency. Jim and America were great with all of their communication and their explanations and recommendations. The work was completed on time. Paul and all of the gentleman who worked on the project were excellent. We are very happy with the results. We now have a larger, more livable house. It looks as though it was completely original construction. The inspections all went smoothly.

OC Home Builders did a terrific job. Every aspect was done well - from the demolition and disposal to the final finishing touches. They worked with me every step of the way and communicated amazingly through the entire job. I would absolutely use them again.

We purchased another home and did not pursue the remodeling project. America and Jim evaluated the project and wrote bids in a timely manner, America's follow up was excellent, Based upon the other reviews from clients that actually completed their projects I assume that this high level of customer service would have continued in our project as well.
