Great experience. They consulted us on pre conditions for a Powersaver system, checked that everything would work ok, installed and permitted the system in 4 weeks total. Fast, responsive service at a great price.

Longest part is the wait for the start date. We started process in late May or early june. Met with salesman and signed contract. Salesman was professional and polite. We already knew that we wanted a 4.5 system based off of their on line promotion and the calculations that P G and E provided on line. Salesman said it might take three weeks for each step but I figured it probably wont take that long to get moving. The drawings took about three weeks to get back from the design group. Again easy to approve we already had researched where the panels would go. Allot of information is on line even designing roof lay out from google . Drawings were agree upon and then another three weeks waiting on installer walk and permits to city. Might of even been four weeks. CIty approved on 4th of July week and the work stated two weeks after that. Workers showed up with equipment on Weds and installed all 18 panels in 6 hours. Crew of 4 employees. We have a steep roof so workers were properly tied of with safety harnasses. One guy below handling panels and the other laying the tracks and panels. Looked great, Employees took about thirty minutes for a cool down. Was a very hot week. They only left one soda can behind after they cleaned up. Might not of been theres since we have kids in the neighborhood Next day two electricians showed up and did the electrical in 6 hours. Exceptionally clean instart. Conduit was bent properly and there were no unnessary bends. Very professional installation. Two weeks later the city inspector came back and met with the lead electrician . The final walk went flawless and the inspector even commented on how neat the installation was. The out put on my system in about 4 kw mid day but have not researched weather it should be closer to the 4.5 kw since there are many variables involved with panels and the roof pitch etc. Very pleased over all. The wait is the hard part. We all have to lean to wait.

We contracted with SunRun to install solar panels. We were told that Peterson Dean would come out to assess whether roof was suitable. After several weeks, Peterson Dean finally did come. They went onto the roof and crawled in the attic. I asked what their assessment was. He said, "You need a new roof." I said, "That's it? Why? Do you mean if we want solar installed we need a new roof? Or we need a new roof in any event?" He repeated, "You need a new roof." What he meant was that our roof was composite material and not suitable for installation of solar panels. He didn't offer this explanation, however, or provide any kind of alternatives, for instance, that just the part where panels would be installed would need to be replaced, etc. I found this treatment to be very unprofessional. He did leave a packet with a quote for replacement of the entire roof, but no details on anything, so I expect it was a starting document for an upsell routine. No thanks.

The representative [Paul Beckman] that came out for the initial proposal/estimate followed through the process of replacing our roof and installing the solar was terrific - professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. We were given a no bs sales pitch and weren't pressured into anything, nor did they bad mouth the competition as others did. The installation was not without glitches - like one of the workers ended up with a foot though one of the ceilings - but they handled the repair immediately and without fuss. We now have a roof without leaks that looks great and the PGE statements are something I can now look forward to! I can without reservation recommend Petersen Dean.

Signed 9/28/2012. Downpayment pd for roofing &solar. Work did not begin until first week of Dec. Workers arrived at noon the first day and did rip off, and put down plywood and underlayment. Worked until 8 in dark. Next few days it rained. Came back to put on shingles after the underlayment had been totally soaked and warped in waves. No leakage is the best that could be said. The shingles were the wrong color. They were put on in the waving profile. After many, many, emails and calls and meetings and STRESS...STRESS....STRESS Petersen Dean did agree to forgo "any payment for the roof we have installed in exchange for your (my) release of any claims against PetersenDean arising out of your roofing and solar contracts."

The guy who came out to do the quote from Petersen Dean Roofing And Solar Systems was very polite, but it was higher than 3 other quotes I think. I think they are competent and able to do the job, but seem to be over priced. The guy who came out was competent, polite, and seemed to know the business. I wouldn't disqualify them, but they were just a little high. I had multiple quotes and 4 that I was comfortable with and they were one of them.

Petersen Dean Roofing And Solar Systems were fine. We had no issues at all. They were very professional. They cleaned up after themselves everyday. There was no mess. They were here when they said they were going to be here and pretty much completed it when they said they were going to complete it. I had no problems.

They came out once to do the estimate then set up another time to come out to check on something. They did not show up for the second appointment on 2/13. I sent an email asking what happened and never got a response. Never heard from them again. I guess I'm lucky I didn't sign them up to do work.

It's been excellent. This is one of those things where you think you've got it but you don't that kind of thing. They resolved it and we've used them intermittently. The particular good thing was that, everybody was sort of competent when they got here, competent on the phone. It's just well done all the way around.

They were pretty quick in responsive. I thought they were polite and nice. I thought the process was pretty good. I didn’t like the expense, the quote itself was just way high. They were way, way out there. They were very expensive and they were good 30 to 40 percent above average. I would not use them again in the future because their prices are too high.

We were really happy with their service. In fact, when the inspector came, he even said something good about this company. There was no problem with the inspection and we had no trouble with their service. Everything was nice. There was no complaints. It was even done pretty quickly, I think it was under two weeks. They were really good and responsive. There was never a time that they did not show up. Everything was fine and they cleaned up after.

They were very good. Working with them was great. I was amazed on how quick they got it all done, how professional they were and inspected afterwards. I think just the amount of time that it took to install everything, they were literally in and out within about 4 hours and I think they have 7 or 8 people there. It was very organized. It’s a complicated work and they only did it for 4 hours.

The prices line up with what they should be. Right now on the market there are a lot of solar companies that still are charging very high margins and very high price. Whereas this company is actually offering what the costs are today. Their pricing was good. Their workmanship was good. The only downside was that they were a bit, they promised me they would install it earlier than they did. Other than that they did a good job. They used good quality equipment.

I went with another company because the system I purchased was a larger system than Petersen Dean offered.

I liked the bid that Petersen-Dean gave and the crew of workers were on time and worked very fast to complete the job. In accepting their proposal, I had asked them to repair or replace 3 or 4 a dry rotted plywood sheets under the eaves and they said they would see how it went and would settle up later. Anyway when they finished there was no charge for the replacement of the rotted plywood, which was nice of them to do. The work was delayed for a week when a city inspector needed them to do something that they apparently didn't do. Anyway one of the crew came back a week later and did what the inspector wanted and the permit was signed off. The new roof included new gutters and downspouts. The only think I was not satisfied with was 3 downspouts which I wanted to be raised higher than the old ones in order to be higher than the old ones, because they were lower than the concrete walkways where they emptied to. In the end none of them were raised the heights I wanted. During the heavy rains in December 2012 those 3 downspouts shot water in the dirt under the top level of the concrete and almost flooded by front and rear yards. These downspouts have to be cut about 6 inches off their current low point so the next rains will carry the water over the tops of the concrete. I was really disappointed that I now have to pay somebody else to shorten the length of these 3 downspouts. I have not called Petersen-Dean about this, but maybe I should. Other than the downspouts, I was very satisfied with their work.

We needed a new roof on our newly-purchased 25-year-old house. Petersen-Dean was not the least expensive roofer we investigated, but they were the most responsive. In our case, time was of the essence because we wanted the roof completed before we moved in. Petersen-Dean sent an army of guys and did the whole job in 3 weeks. This was a little longer than their time estimate, but it was a big job. (I have since observed other re-roof projects in my neighborhood take much longer.) I have been waiting for a major rain storm to post this review. I'm happy to say the roof is perfect with no leaks and all the gutters & downspouts function well.

I liked that they provided free engineering estimates. They were consistently prompt on follow up and very much on time. They hit all their dates as planned. They just made it very easy to go through the process and they provided several cost options. Their pricing was competitive and made sense to me. It was an excellent experience overall. I have nothing but good things to say about them.

The sales person was straightforward and no nonsense. The detailed quotes on the installation and the impact to monthly utility bills were very useful and insightful. There was no pressure and the sales person was very helpful answering all our questions Installation started on time. Other providers had considerable backlog. The installation lasted exactly as long as I was told. The workmen were curitious and respectful of our property. Once the installation was complete we received a full walk thru and instruction on how to use the installation. Afterwards the sales person followed up to ensure everything was completed and we were satisfied.

I had 3 bids and Petersen Deam was least expensive. The roofers were on time and on budget although there was an extra bracing cost. All personnel were in house and punctual. I would recommend and would use again if repairs or replacement were needed.

They did exactly what they promised to do and were very responsive.

We had setbacks because of all the rain in Oct., which was not expected. So the start date was a month later than planned for. Can't control the weather! A crew of 5 or 6 tore off the old roof in a few hours and they cleaned up their mess fairly well. No dry rot was found so no extra charges. The entire roof and gutter job took 5 days, with just 2 men doing all the installation. Leandro was the man in charge, and he even did me a favor by nailing in some sagging eve coverings that would have hung below the gutters if he had not fixed it. That was going the extra mile. Over all, it took a long time, but the quality and beauty of the new roof was worth it. If you're not in a hurry, I would recommend this company Petersen-Dean. Also they sent out and encouraged the use of a $1000 off coupon!

The salesman was knowledgeable. Unlike other companies I got quotes from, Peterson and Dean uses only solar attic fans- quiet & energy efficient. There were some problems in the installation but the company has stood behind correcting them. For example, because the installers didn't use the right something with the Presidential TL shingles we had installed, the roof leaked in places. They think they've corrected it, at least we'll find out in the next rainy season! It was disappointing to have any problems with a new roof, but reassuring that they do stand behind their product and correct workmanship that apparently was not done properly in the first place.

We were happy with the outcome of the job that was done. They were very nice and professional people. We wanted a roof that insulates and they put one on that we were very happy with. They did a good job.
