Description of Work: We were having a problem with our airconditioner cutting off. The HVAC guy said it was an electrical problem. South Bay Electric was able to diagnose and isolate the problem to a defect in the HVAC system which was key to getting it fixed.

Description of Work: They were not able to complete the job. And there was very poor follow up. I had to hire somebody else to finish it.

Description of Work: South Bay Electric installed 6 recess cans in the living rom . They showed up on time During installation I added some additional work (grounding an outlet / adding a new electrical outlet for my TV) The work was done professionally / within 1 day I would use them again

Description of Work: The company demanded a $ 175.00 fee to inspect the work, and the fee would not be credited to the cost, which is the epitome of arrogance, and inconsistent with the type of business attitude I expected from an organization listed on your site. You are doing the consuming public a disservice by continuing the listing.

Description of Work: Contractor that installed new air conditioner compressor mis-wired a security light. Kept blowing bulbs because fixture had 240 volts applied. Rubin took all of 10 minutes to verify the problem and fix the wiring.

Description of Work: I called So.Bay Electric to have a doorbell re-hardwired. Ian promptly came buy and was going to be able to fix the problem for just his service charge which I thought was more than fair. After less than an hr we thought we had it fixed. When my old wiring started to fail I called Ian and he was here in minutes. We knew everything had to be re-wired and Ian handed me back my check for the service charge which he earned in my mind. I have never seen a contractor do this! He quoted me a fair price to have everything re-wired. We scheduled a time, his crew showed up on time and got the job done. This is how all dealings with contractors should be. I hope to do business with So.Bay Electric in the future.

Description of Work: Had Ian out to re-hard wire a doorbell. He was only going charge his normal service charge for this work which was more that fair. When we found out that we would have to re- wire everything he handed me back my check for the service charge, which he had more than earned in my opinion. He quoted me a price for the new job and we set up a time. His employees were on time and did a great job! I wish all contractors were like this. I have more work for South Bay Electric in the very near future and will call them for all my electric service needs.

Description of Work: Mayor (Ian's asst.) checked outside front light, installed new outlet in kitchen. Excellent service.

Description of Work: My son had an electrical pronblem in his home; no electricity to his refrigerator and other circuits in his house. Ian was already working on the west side of but said he would try to be there before the end of the day. He showed up earlier than expected and found the problem quickly (a circuit had been gerrymandered and could have caused a fire). He replaced the circuit and gave us some valuable advice as to what should be done in the house. We were very impressed by his professionalism and helpfullness.

Description of Work: We accidently cut our phone line taking out the old alarm system in a house we just purchased. I started making calls to find someone who would come by the next day to try to fix our mistake. Ian was prompt and responsive. He had good rates and was able to come out the next day to give us a quote. He arrived when he said he would, evaluated the job and was honest that it was not something he had the necessary tools to complete the job. We really appreciated his honest. Ian could have chosen to attempt the job without the necessary tools, increasing out cost or doing a poor quality job but he didn't. We were very pleased with Ian ethics and punctuality and will definitely call him if we need electrical work in the future.
