And the question we get all the time is “why should we go with Alan Smith Pool Plastering?” To be up front with you, we’re not the cheapest contractor. We’re also not the fastest. If you are looking for fast and cheap, head down to the Home Depot or Lowe’s or call around to some of our competitors. That being said, our work is not exclusively for the rich and famous either. In fact, our typical customer has a 15,000 gallon pool, makes between $85,000-$110,000 in household income, and spends between $10,000-$20,000 with us on their pool and spa renovation.(yes several choose to upgrade and remodel their entire backyard with pavers, patio covers, masonry and outdoor lighting) In other words, we cater to people who can afford to do the job right the first time. People who want the job to outlast their lifetime, and we don’t want to save a few dollars by using cheap materials and labor instead of quality products and an experienced work force. Here’s what you really need to know. Our pool surface warranty is 10 YEARS because once we resurface your pool it is NOT coming off since we use advanced pool prepping technology that creates a high strength bond. Most of our jobs are from past customer and referrals from friends, neighbors and family-they like us enough to come back. We do a really good job & we have since 1981. We DO NOT clean pools, nor do we REPAIR Portable Hot Tubs. Call us to discuss your project.

Darren L reached out to me in response to my review—incredibly blown away. He made the job right and then some! He was super communicative, responsive, followed through, and did a great job!! Darren thank you!! Was not expecting this and to get everything addressed as you did made me very happy. If you choose AS—request Darren! He’s the man!!"

They came in really early, they were very professional, they communicate really well and the craftsmanship was good. They were very clean during their job, they were very good at follow ups, the crew called to confirm that they were completing certain task of the day and update us to make sure we are happy with their work that was completed. "The fiberglass surface appears to far superior in durability to typical plaster, and pebble-tec. The warranty is 15 years and expected to last longer and stay looking new. We could choose the color we wanted. We had severe cracking issues in our old plaster and the work done to correct that for the future appeared to be exceptional. I had never heard of fiberglass resurface for a plaster pool, and I am so glad that I found this as an option. The company and its people were all professional. The work was done in a timely manner. The final product looks so good. They retiled for us as well and that work was also excellent. The person used to replace all the filter/heater/pump was also excellent. The price was more than typical basic plaster, yet if that lasts a couple years without discoloration or chipping, I believe the cost is far better. I am very happy with this company and their services."

"Project manager was a general contractor not a pool person. You do not know the quality of the work until it is done then it is too late. Concrete has large dark blotches in a few places. I think it?s because concrete wasn?t mixed thoroughly leaving an inconsistent color. Looks bad. Developed a crack within the first couple of weeks and was told nothing could be done. Concrete around top of spa is crooked and inconsistent. Amateur job. My neighbor?s was done around the same time (different company) and is perfectly straight. Salesman was knowledgeable but never returned to check the job. I do not think anyone really knew what they were doing. Just kind of faking it. Do not recommend. No real upside to the job."
