A previous drywall contractor did a terrible job texturing our ceilings. We decided to call Aston as he has done excellent work for us in the past (a lot of stucco & some drywall work in January 2015). You would not believe how time and labor involved with plastering ceilings smooth. Done correctly as Aston has, each room undergoes a four step process: cover all walls and floors, prepare ceilings with a special stucco/plaster primer, put on a base coat of stucco, and finally put on the finish coat of plaster. If you have ever tried working on a ceiling for any length of time, you know how tiring it can be just holding your arm up. Imaging holding a trowel full of plaster over your head for 8-10 hours. Thankfully, Aston is accustomed to this type of work. His attention to detail is very impressive as well. It is very easy to spot imperfections in fresh plaster, though we could not find anything to complain about. The project took longer than Aston had planned for, but his helper was having some family issues and was not able to be of assistance. Aston is always very good about communicating should he need to arrive later than planned, or whatever the issue may be. I was grateful for Aston's use of text messaging, which I prefer. Aston told us that if we ever had any issues with the work he had done, to just call him and he would take care of it. A couple weeks after the ceilings were finished, we noticed a spot that did not look the way it should. I called Aston and he came over that same day to look at it, and had it fixed within two days. If you want your job done correctly (by someone you can trust in your house alone), call Aston.

Aston was very quick in his communications and was flexible to make the service appointment a time around my work schedule. He showed up right on time, worked a little beyond his estimated time to make sure everything was just right and left a spotless jobsite. Ending cost was as estimated. We has a slab leak and did a complete repipe of our house back in August. When the plumber did the reroute on the outside of the house and then we had the plumbing rerouted again inside. This left massive holes in the outside of our house and exposed the inside of our house to the outside elements and critters. I called Aston as he had helped with a past project and know he does quality work and it a gentlemen to work with. He came out immediately knowing our house was exposed and was back the next day and into the week to get the repairs done. During this entire slab leak experience I have learned a lot of the first thing is that to find a contractor that is respectable, committed, on time, trustworthy and a pleasure to work is something to not take for granite. If you are looking to get your stucco repaired the CORRECT way and with someone who is great to work with call Aston. He quoted the work, always returned my calls and emails in a timely manner, came back on time and when he said he would, explained what he was doing the entire time so I understood the process. Ashton is how every contractor should be. He contacts you promptly, shows up on time, polite and courteous and most importantly does great work. He is also very tidy and clean in his work. Aston just might be the most honest contracting professional I've ever encountered. I'd called him so that he could come over and give me an estimate for some exterior stucco and interior drywall repairs on our house. My intention was to have any necessary repairs completed prior to having the exterior and interior of the house repainted. After Aston arrived, he examined the areas needing repair and told me, very forthrightly, that he could do them, but that the painters could do them, too, for a lower cost. There wasn't anything in my repairs that required the skill of a specialist like him; if I utilized his services, I'd just be wasting my money. It's hard to believe that a professional would turn down an easy buck, but that's exactly what Aston did! I can't tell you how much I appreciate and admire his honesty, forthrightness, and respect for customers' hard-earned money. If I ever do need any significant drywall, plaster, or stucco repair, I know, without a doubt, whom I will be hiring: Aston Hill. Thank you, Aston!

Communication with Aston went without a hitch. Aston was very professional, punctual and pleasant to work with. He was easy to contact regarding details of the proposed job, and if unavailable he was always prompt to respond back. The work performed looks very good and solid, and all areas of previous ceiling damage were cleanly repaired. I would without hesitation recommend Aston for his professionalism, follow through, and quality of work.

This is not the first time I've used Aston, We got to know him when he was the subcontractor repairing the stucco around the new sliding doors we had installed on the back of our house. We were so impressed with the way the openings in the stucco disappeared with his repairs, that we asked for his card. Aston has performed repairs on all our projects that have involved drywall, plaster or stucco work ever since. These projects have included resurfacing a bathroom after wallpaper removal and repairing the drywall after the plumber's modificaitons in another bathroom remodel. Aston arrived on time and promptly assessed the damage. He gave me a quote, which was reasonable for the work he had to do. As with all his previous repairs around my house, he thoroughly masked off the area to be repaired and sprayed by creating spray booth out of plastic sheeting taped to the ceiling. He put lots of drop cloths on the floor, and made a trail of them to the door. After setting up his equipment, he removed the damaged material. The new surface was applied to match the level of the surrounding area. He left the plastic in place for awhile (maybe 1/2 hour) around the repaired area and removed his equipment. After the substrate was dry enough, he applied the texturing. After a bit more time (another 1/2 hour?), he removed the plastic, and the drop cloths. The only evidence of his having been there was the freshly repaired ceiling that matched the undamaged ceiling around it. Aston then gave instructions on how long to let it dry before painting. He has always emphasized neatness during the various repairs which minimized the mess to be cleaned up afterwards.

Aston was very professional and easy to work with. He came to the house for inspection and then emailed a detailed quote with a good price. The work was done beautifully and he left the room clean. We would definitely call him again!

Aston did an amazing job! I honestly cannot say enough positive things about the job he did. I am in the process of remodeling and thus far it's been about 50/50 on whether the tradesman even bothers to show up for the appointment that THEY set. You will not have that problem with Aston. He on time, on budget, and a true professional. There were a few surprises that cropped up and made his job a bit more difficult but he handled them without missing a beat.

From our first interaction to the final handshake at the end of the day, Aston was an exemplary contractor and professional for our patchwork needs. Our house repiping project turned walls of our house into Swiss cheese, and we solicited patchwork specialists for bids. Among the ones we contacted, Aston was responsive: he left detailed voice mail messages, texted, and replied promptly to email and Angie's List messages. He provided a quote after we sent him pictures and measurements of the walls needing repair, and his price was very competitive. Aston arrived promptly and prepared the work areas like no other we've observed in recent years. He lined affected walls and floors thoroughly, and he was diligent in shutting doors to minimize dust/debris spreading to other areas of the house. Aston worked continuously for hours. His workmanship and attention to detail were obvious when we inspected the walls. In addition, the pride that he takes in his work is evident: from how he presents himself to even his vanity license plates and singing along to some tunes! Aston consistently maintained a professional demeanor. Near the end of a long day (11 hours of practically non-stop work), he realized that he had forgotten one additional area. He acknowledged the oversight and completed the job without complaint or hesitation. He took the time afterward to clean up all work areas, answer questions, and ensure that we were satisfied with the plastering and repairs he had made. Once we slap some paint on the walls, the home will appear as if no holes were ever created for repiping. While the whole point of patchwork is to elude notice, Aston's work ethic, quality, and professionalism definitely made an impression with us. We are grateful and would happily recommend him for any patchwork/plastering needs.

Aston came over and looked at my weep screed. He immediately suggested that my problem was minor and that he could charge me a lot of money to fix it, or I could do a quick fix on my own and save a lot of time, money and heartache. I very much appreciated his professionalism and advice...he could've charged me an arm and a leg and taken advantage of my lack of expertise in stucco and patching, but he instead helped me out and saved me money. Also very easy to contact via email, which is nice.

Aston did a fantastic job was very prompt and professional. The entire job took 5-6 hours and since I was curious he was more then happy to explain every step of the process. I would highly recommend Aston and will certainly use him again in the future.

We were needing some stucco repair done before painting our house. After inspecting the house exterior Mr. Hill ended up recommending a different course of action, gave a recommendation for a different highly rated company, and said if once the job was started we needed any advice or his services, he would be happy to give us a bid. I greatly appreciated the information he provided, his honesty, and his recommendation.

Astin came highly recommend from AAA Calvert, who were the amazing team that installed our central air & heat, and we can't recommend Astin enough. He was very responsive via email and phone, arrived on time and left the house the way he found it: spotless. He is a 2nd generation patchworker and you can clearly tell this is his passion because he is so good at it.

Aston returned my phone call promptly and listened attentively to my description of the type and extent of the damage to my mother's home. He explained possible repair techniques and made recommendations. He was able to quickly fit my job into his schedule quickly and since it was a hot and humid week, he asked if he could meet with me and start the job early (7am) to beat some of the heat, which was perfect for me. He spent a great deal of time masking and preparing the area to protect the hardscape (I had removed the plants that blocked part of the damaged area). He worked quickly, efficiently, and quietly. He was pleasant, extremely polite and hard working. When finished, he cleaned up the exterior of the home beautifully. He was able to match the existing rough knock-down texture perfectly and I could not be happier. With a new paint job on the house, you will never notice the repaired areas. Aston is a great communicator. He responded quickly to my emails as we discussed terms for the repair work. He provided before-and-after photos of similar work he had completed. I received four quotes for the job. Aston's price was not the lowest, but it was within 10% of the low bidder. Aston specializes in stucco and plaster work, which was very important to me. I manage an architectural design firm, and I know the importance of having specialists rather than generalists perform construction work. I felt very confident about Aston's expertise when I hired him, and he exceeded my expectations by his excellent work. He was always on time (starting work at 7:00 AM at my request), and he always left the work area neat and clean. Aston's stucco work was outstanding. His work blended perfectly with the existing stucco texture and color. No extra charges! Aston completed the work for the price he quoted, and he performed a complementary inspection of the stucco on the rest of the house. Aston has a very pleasant and upbeat personality. You will enjoy meeting him and working with him.

Aston is truly professional with his communication and most dependable. He arrived when he said, did what he said and there were no surprises. On Friday I emailed Ashton and sent photos of a partially torn- away wall in our laundry room. The wall was torn open due to a previous water leak and was subsequently repaired a few months ago. Ashton responded via email( my preference)in a timely manner and we agreed on a time onSaturday to preview the project. Ashton arrived as promised on Saturday looked at the project and quoted $350.00 to repair the wall. He anticipated being busy this week and suggested he do the job on Sunday. As promised he arrived on Sunday and repaired our satisfaction on Sunday!

Aston did an excellent job before of extensive stucco repair around the outside of my house. Yet as my house was being prepared for painting additional areas were discovered that needed his expertise. So I called up Aston and he came over on a Saturday to help get those additional areas repaired so that there wouldn't be any delays in painting. Aston responded to my email on the same day and we set up a date and time. Aston once again did excellent work and the cost for his service is very reasonable! Aston is a very nice guy to work with and I like that he is willing to do small jobs.

The entire job was smooth from start to finish. This is the second time I have hired Aston. Previously, he did the same work on our living room. After two years, there are no cracks and no problems. I had no hesitation to hire him again for our kitchen and entry way. Aston returned my initial call within five minutes. The next day he came out to look at the job and provided an estimate that same evening. He completed the work later that same week. The job site was carefully covered and cleaned up. Aston and one other guy do all the work. This is important to me. He did not send a crew of strangers to my home. The ceiling looks great. Very good craftsmanship!

Aston did an excellent job of communicating and explaining exactly what needed to be done to repair the drywall damage. He is meticulous in all preparation and work skill. He put protective barriers everywhere and the repair is excellent. He spent at least two hours to do this repair and the price was very fair. We're very satisfied with his work ethic and skills.

Aston came out to give me a free estimate. He was extremely polite and professional. He measured, took pictures, and said he would e-mail me an estimate within a day. The next day he not only e-mailed me the cost, but he also included every thing he planned on doing, up to and including clean up. I was very impressed with Aston from the first time we met. He informed me that he would be doing the work himself, rather than sending someone else. He also told me that he doesn't ask for a penny until the work was completed and I was happy and satisfied. I can't remember the last time someone made that offer. Usually they want partial or. Most of the money up front. It appeared that Aston used quality materials and took pride in his work. As I mentioned before, the soffit was custom made and it took special attention by Aston to duplicate the new texture to match the old. He did a great job. Aston's price was a little high but well worth feeling comfortable in knowing I was getting what I paid for. Patchwork's Plastering Company was the first company I called and I liked him from the start. They just don't make people like Aston anymore. I called several other companies and got responses such as "It's about ........" or " If I don't call you in a few days, give me a call." or they come out and say, "we have a minimum of $500.00". And that's just to mention a few. I thoroughly respect Aston and the work he does. Trust me, he knows his worth and now I do too. I liked the work so much that when I get a bit more money saved, I am going to have Aston do another project for me.
