I highly recommend Aston for stucco repair. Based on photos I emailed him of our exterior wall where a new plumbing drain and clean out were installed, he provided a detailed description of the materials and the steps involved to complete the work. He also provided photos of similar jobs for comparison that gave me confidence in the quality of his work. I found him to be very personable, trustworthy and easy to communicate with when I had any questions or comments. He did a brilliant job and I’m very pleased with the results. I will definitely be contacting him if I need any future stucco or plastering work.

If you’re looking for a masterful plasterer who will complete the job quickly, efficiently, cleanly, and professionally for an amazing price, look no further!! We hired Aston to plaster a button board wall that was revealed after we removed a faux fireplace. We wanted the work to be done to seamlessly blend and match the texture of the surrounding 75 year old plaster wall. From beginning to end, Aston was extremely responsive to all of our questions, took great care to protect all things surrounding the work area, and left the work area pristine!! He was very exact and clear about what work would be done, the time it would take, and the cost of the work (which is very competitive and far below the value of the work he provides!). He proactively communicated with us every step of the way and did such an amazing job, we asked him back to repair our sagging, water damaged ceiling above the bath tub and remove old heater vents and patch the holes left in the external wall. Again, from beginning to end we knew exactly what to expect and could not be happier with the work that Aston has done!! I cannot rave about him enough! It can be nerve wracking to cold call a professional to do repairs in your home - you really want someone that will be professional, do a great job, and not take advantage of you. It has been a true pleasure to work with Aston in our home repairs and would gladly call him back time and time again for any patchwork projects we may have in the future. I needed stucco repair on my mother's home after a new clean out was installed. The location of the repair was a bit awkward due to the air conditioner unit being located directly in front of the opening. Aston was kind & very patient in taking the time to explain the repair and curing process to my elderly mother when he gave us our quote. He did an amazing job and it blends beautifully with the existing texture. The man is truly an artist and we are extremely happy with his work.

Aston did an amazing job for us. I did not bother to get any additional bids after I met him. He has impeccable online reviews and I could tell that he truly cares about the details. We had remodeled the backyard including removing a patio cover, re-building a grill island, and adding a pool/spa and deck. We needed stucco in the previous grill and patio cover areas and also needed all the weep screed replaced. Aston was meticulous with the entire process. All areas not being worked on were covered and protected. I could not be more pleased with the quality of his work. I would recommend him with absolutely no reservations.

Aston's work is of the highest quality. He was prompt to answer my call, I was able to text pictures of the repair work I needed done and we came to agreement quickly. We set a date, he came early in the morning, let himself into the backyard and started working. By the time I arrived he was busy at work and was doing a very thorough and complete job. I thought his bid was a little high, but after I saw the quality of his work and thoughtfulness of the customer about cleanup, I am glad I chose him for my stucco work. Very professional plus I loved the english accent.

Aston arrived on time and began working immediately. He worked all day and answered all our questions. All areas were covered, taped, and left clean after work was completed.

Aston was very accommodating to our difficult and busy holiday schedule. He was extremely careful to mask off the work area even though it was outside. He did a great job and was detailed in his estimate of exactly what he would do, how he would do the job and how it would be when finished (ready for paint). I am already planning to have him come back and do more work.

Aston responded promptly to my inquiry, showed up as scheduled to view the project, and had an estimate to me almost immediately. He and Rudy showed up on time, did a meticulous job prepping the area, draping, taping, and covering as necessary. I was impressed with the care they took to avoid damage to the historic finishes, and they asked about anything they were unsure of. The repairs and resurfacing were of the highest quality. We had a miscommunication about the scope of work, and it was resolved quickly, amiably, and to my complete satisfaction. I am happy to give Patchworks my most favorable recommendation, and would definitely hire Aston again for any plasterwork needs.

Aston is a true artist, I had a outside wall plumbing repair and was concerned with appearance being that the outside wall is textured. We sent him pictures from our phone and he responded quickly and was able to give a quote for the job. My house is painted light grey so after he finished plastering and matching the texture and even before painting you cant even tell that there was a problem or that a repair was made. I definitely would recommend him and he would be the first person i would call if I needed plastering work. Fantastic job.... Thank you Aston.

Aston did an outstanding job. At first I thought it was a little pricey, but he had to enlarge the area to properly waterproof the wall. He was on time, did a great job and cleaned up after himself. Totally happy and will use him in the future.

The man is awesome! Look no further! Aston is the consummate craftsman/artisan you’ve only ever dreamt about and a review of his work quickly turns into a litany of superlatives: incredibly gifted, awesome work ethic, great communication skills, unbelievable clean up, a laser-like focus/attention to detail and all at a more than fair price. It doesn’t get better than this. Aston also plastered j-box holes in 3-bedrooms and a bathroom (I had moved previous j-boxes, replacing them with earthquake safe ones – affixed to joists). He patiently listens to all questions, happily explains the process, and openly gives suggestions (like the gravel French drain) to insure a long lasting stucco repair. I couldn’t be more pleased. Would hire again in a second and will NEVER allow anyone but Aston do stucco/plaster work for me. Master-craftsmen are a dying breed, especially in our current slap-dash culture – Aston’s one of the last and certainly the best! $1800 including materials Oct. 20th, 2016

Aston Hill is the type of contractor you always hope you can find. He responds to communications in a timely manner, shows up when he says he will, offers a fair price, and does an outstanding job as well. Aston is very knowledgeable about his craft and it's clear he takes great pride in doing outstanding work. At the first visit he explained exactly what the scope of his work would involve. I had no idea stucco patchwork is a multi-step process that really needs to be done right or problems can happen down the road. He mentioned to me that a (lower priced) suggestion of how to patch the stucco I received from another would end up leaking at the first heavy rain; something the building inspector later affirmed. He then explained in detail how his patching process would preserve the moisture barrier and satisfy any building inspector. Aston is also quite the gentleman; extremely polite, pleasant to talk to, and has a seemingly infinite amount of patience when it comes to customers asking questions about the details of the job. We had a very rough stucco texture that others said would be hard to match but they would "do their best". Aston matched it perfectly - I mean perfectly - it's just amazing; we still receive comments from whoever drops by that they can't believe what a nice match it is. The final touch was he quoted us to patch and texture just around the doors a couple feet but at the end of the job he put the top texture coat all the way to the ends of the wall - all on his dime - just to make sure it looked perfect. Amazing. I highly recommend Aston Hill if you have any stucco work that needs to be done.

Called Aston and i described the repairs that were need. He asked if I could send him pictures of the repairs in and email which I provided to him. He quickly responded and set up a time to come out and review the job. He arrived at the agreed upon time and reviewed the job and provided me with a quote the next day. I accepted the quote and we set up a date and time for him to perform the work. The work was executed on time and schedule. He did a great job on the repair and I am very pleased with his quality of work and professionalism. He's a true craftsman at his trade. Aston is very polite and a pleasure to work with. He communicates better than most regarding the job and meets his commitments regarding starting and completion times. He does a great job at preparing the work area by using plastic, paper, and tape to ensure no damage was done to my property. He cleans up the work area and you can't even tell he has been there. He didn't ask for any money until the work was completed to my satisfaction. I will definitely use him again for and stucco or plaster repairs in need.

As is easily seen in the other reviews, Aston is the Master Blaster of Plaster! He has taken a craft and turned it into artistry and does things with a trowel that is nothing short of magical. He is an artist - and should be doing Sistine Chapel ceilings, not kitchens and bathrooms. Painstaking prep work and clean ups are tells that distinguishes excellence - the kitchen was turned into a "clean room" with "plastic walls" that trapped all the plaster and dust during demolition, plastic lined the bathrooms, and black stucco paper and plastic lined all the floors. When finished, you couldn't even tell that Aston had been there. The other giveaway for quality work is when it's made to look so easy. It's obvious that Aston more than paid his dues during his old-school apprenticeship and has continued to improve over the years. Most obvious of all is that he takes great pride in his craftsmanship. These are qualities that have become incredibly difficult, if not impossible to find anymore. This man's work defines professional and attention to detail. I could not have been more pleased and will never let anyone else do plaster work for me. Awesome work at price more than fair. And to top it off, Aston's a delightful gentleman. You're crazy to hire anyone else!

On 7/27 I called Patchwork's Patching Specialist and left a message during the day. Aston called back the same evening and left a message asking for an email (rather than phone call) that describes the work needed with pictures included. He said he would email back an estimate after reviewing the pictures and description. On 7/28 I emailed Aston with pictures and a description as he requested. After that I never heard from Aston or Patchwork's Patching Specialist again. One week later on 8/4 I called Aston and left a message to let him know that I had emailed the information and to make sure he received my email with the pictures, and also asking if perhaps he did email back but it got lost getting to me. No response from Aston whatsoever. I'm sure he got my follow-up phone message because he obviously got my first phone message to the same number. I'm convinced he got my email as well since he didn't call back to say that he didn't. When contractors decide that they don't want your business, for whatever reason, how hard is it to hit the 'reply' button on the email they asked for and simply say "can't fit such a small job into our schedule" or whatever? Seriously, how hard?

Aston is so lovely, he was punctual, very clean and did an amazing job! We would recommend him to anyone and we will most certainly use him again!

Aston is very friendly, professional, and easy to deal with. He gave me a very reasonable price, did a fantastic job, and left the site cleaner than it was before he started. He did such an amazing job of matching the texture that once I paint it, you won’t ever know there was a repair done. I would highly recommend Aston to anyone that needs stucco work done, and I’m not that easy to please.

Aston outlined what he needed to do to fix our problems and went to work promptly. Enjoyed his personality and hard work. I would hire him again without question.

If you are reading this review, look no further and give Aston a call if you need stucco / plaster work done. He repaired / patched stucco following an electric panel change, and also did plaster patching in our bedroom and garage (after plumbing and electrical repairs). The patchwork was seamless and perfect, just as the other reviews state. Aston has generations of experience in this work, is a complete professional, and extremely courteous and thoughtful. He takes great pride in his work (as he should!), is a perfectionist, and strives for 100% satisfaction--please do not abuse this about him! I got several bids, and he was not the lowest cost option (do you really want to use the cheapest person to fix your home?), but I found his pricing to be very fair for the level of detail and expertise. We plan on using again after renovation of our doors in our home. I had a great time chatting with Aston about life and our families, too--he is quite a philosopher. I wish we had more people like Aston in this world!
