The experience was good overall. I am use to doing all of the repairs and remodeling myself but this project required slab work and a lot of tile so we decided on a contractor. Mark gave us a detailed scope of work and payment schedule when we started the job which was followed very closely. We did not know what to expect with workers coming into our house every day but we were pleasantly surprised on how nice all of the workers were. The floor and carpet were covered every day and debris was removed at the end of each day. There were a few changes that needed to be made during the project and Mark was helpful in the decision making. I am pretty particular on how finished work needs to look and the workers along with Mark and the foreman made corrections and changes with no questions asked. All of the inspections and permits were set up and covered by the contractor which was helpful. Enna kept me in the loop every day on all of the progress and got answers for me when needed. She was always pleasant on the phone and got back to me with e-mail, text, and phone calls.
Description of Work: We had a bathroom from 1964 completely remodeled. The original bathroom was about 10 ft. by 4-1/2 ft. with a tub/ shower and dividing wall. We had the tub removed and one wall torn out and rebuilt to expand the room by 2-1/2 ft. We had the original window removed and replaced it with a custom size window which was built into the shower wall. This required structural wall modifications and outside stucco work. We moved all of the plumbing to allow for a large tile shower to be built. This required cutting the slab foundation and installing new drain plumbing for the shower, toilet and sink. New vent pipes were required and had to be installed in the new wall and thru the roof. The shower required extensive plumbing to allow for a ceiling rain can, body sprays and a hand held head. We added a fan/ light which required venting thru the roof. The shower was tiled from floor to ceiling and the remainder of the room was also tiled about 40" up from the floor. A frameless 3/8" glass door was also installed. Two recessed lights were installed in the shower ceiling along with vanity lighting.

They were very efficient, got things done very nicely, cleaned up well every day, and I am pleased with the job. They also designed the whole thing with me.
Description of Work: They removed the siding on the front of the house and put stucco on there. They also did some exterior painting, removed some stones from the garage, did some plumbing work, put in a planter across the front of the house, and installed foam-core window frames. They have also worked on the interior of the house involving flooring, cabinets in the bathroom and kitchen, and demolition work.

Everything went very well. They were available to me for questions almost constantly. They spelled out everything that needed to be done, on paper, before anything started, including a written estimate. They also kept me very informed throughout the entire project and were here promptly at 8am every morning and left at 5, and the whole project was done in 2 weeks, which is almost an entire week ahead of schedule. I felt very safe with them in my home because of their professionalism and continual communication. I only have one small complaint, there was a slight miscommunication, but I'm not sure if that was due to my overlook, or them, and my only advice would be to ask questions to clarify. Overall the price was fair and the quality of work was excellent, I would certainly recommend them.
Description of Work: I hired them to completely remodel my kitchen and connect all my appliances.

It was a good experience. The crew was there every day they said they would be and did their best to minimize the hassle to our lives that having a bathroom remodeled can bring. Any problems or questions that came up during the remodeling process were responded to promptly and they were willing to re-do work that either we or even they did not deem up to their standards.
Description of Work: We needed to replace our shower/tub combo with a stall shower. Instead of a simple shower replacement we ended up completely gutting and remodeling our en suite bathroom and dressing area. Mark at Horizon Construction gave us a lot wonderful options to enlarge the space we have and make it much more functional and elegant for the price we were planning on spending on just the shower replacement. We ended up with new cabinetry, lighting, flooring and wall removal that gave us a bathroom we enjoy .

The first day was demolition. They covered the main walkway and nearby furniture and gutted the bathroom. The next few days involved framing out the new shower and waterproofing it. Then the insulation and new exhaust fan, drywall, tile, paint, and glass shower. Along the way the new vanity and toilet were added. They were pretty good about covering the walk path and keeping the house clean. The backyard got really dusty from the tile cutting but I don't think there is any way around that. They were good about getting the permits and inspections. When it was almost done I had two small revisions to be done, one was their fault and one was mine. The light switches needed to be changed as they had put the main light switch in the harder to get position. They changed that out and even moved the electrical outlet to a better place at the same time. Because of a new light fixture the medicine cabinet did not fit well and they went back and moved the light fixture up 8 inches. This was all done quickly and professionally. They are good at keeping in touch as needed and I had no problems working with them.
Description of Work: Bathroom remodel. Demo down to studs and rebuild from there. Travertine tile and sliding glass doors for the shower, insulation, drywall, rough plumbing changes for shower. New exhaust fan with light and timer plus tile on floor and paint. They also provided some design suggestions.

I called these people to come out and give me an estimate. After having me submit all my requirements of material and taking and submitting measurements for our ktichen remodel and our house flooring, and also sending them pictures.. they emailed me to say that they are TOO BUSY to take on my project... Jeez... thanks for wasting my time. During these hard economic times when people are scrambling for work it's amazing that there are some companies out there that are SOOOO busy they can't even take on new projects. But why make me submit measurements and pictures of my home if you are that busy???? really??? Thanks for wasting my time.

Dear Member, When you first called the office to schedule to meet, you told us our time frame will be 2 days only to provide you all pricing because you have already interviewed companies and you wish to make a decision in 2 days. We did explain you over the phone that we already booked for the next few days, and it might be difficult to try and make this happen in your short time frame. But we will defiantly try to help! You were told that you are welcome to email all your information & measurements, since you already have those, and it will not take much from your time. Perhaps we will have cancellations, so having your information will help start working on your pricing within your short time frame. We are truly apologized if you feel that you wasted your time, we did not let you wait and informed you right away that unfortunately we will not be able to help, because all our appointment are CONFIRMED and we don't have cancellations for next week and your time frame given to us is too tight. We wish you good luck finding good contractor in your area!

Found Horizon on Angie's list with lots of recommendations. Spoke with Enna and she made an appointment with Mark to come out and meet with us. Mark arrived promptly and we went through our description of what we wanted, Mark provided lots of feedback, ideas and suggestions as well. Mark was very engaging and showed us many pictures of some of his successful projects and we decided we wanted to work with him. He came back, measured and gave a quote. We accepted the quote and the job started on the exact day that they had promised. All the contractors that came to do various jobs were always on time. They were very clean in their work. Everyone was polite and nice and accommodating. We made several changes throughout the project and Mark and his team accommodated everything. The job was completed on time and met all our expectations and everyone loves our new kitchen. Next up bathrooms.

Overall it went well. We were well prepared as to what we wanted to do and had picked out a lot of our materials including plumbing fixtures before meeting with the owner Mark Besnos. This turned out to be a good thing as Mark is committed to keeping a tight schedule once the work starts. All the workmen were polite, on time and worked diligently. Mark or Elay were often on site to supervise and check the work as needed. A bump in the overall process came near the end when it turned out the radiant floor heat did not work. After trying three thermostats it was determined that it was actually the sensor under the newly installed tile that was not working. Once it was determined what the problem was it was quickly fixed. Only a couple tiles had to be taken up, the sensor replaced and the tiles replaced. Mark is committed to making sure everything is done properly and to your satisfaction. Enna, among other things, makes sure the communication flows back and forth between everyone at Horizon and the customer. Elay is a real gentleman and good problem solver.
Description of Work: We gutted the entire master bathroom in our house that was built in 1988. We removed a sunken Roman tub and glass enclosed shower, vanity cabinet, mirrors, tile floors and all plumbing fixtures. The drywall was removed behind the shower and tub areas. Everything in the bathroom was replaced. Some items were bought by the contractor and some by us. A vanity cabinet was custom built to our specifications with custom paint and glaze. Concrete was poured to fill in where the Roman tub had been. A new freestanding tub replaced it. The shower was in the same area as before, but with frameless clear glass on two sides. The walls of the shower and behind the tub were tiled with 12" x 12" marble. The countertop on the vanity cabinet was a slab of the same marble. The floor was covered with 20" x 20" ceramic tiles with radiant floor heat installed underneath it. Trim in the shower and the backsplash on the vanity is onyx mosaic squares. All plumbing fixtures including tub, two sinks and faucets, tub filler and drains were replaced. A doorway was framed and drywall installed between the main part of the bathroom and a spiral staircase that goes up to an attic room that was done by a previous owner. The staircase had the steps replaced with solid red oak and the staircase painted. New baseboards were installed in the bathroom. The bathroom, master bedroom and attic room were painted including all woodwork. The only work not done by Horizon were the two new custom framed mirrors that are over the vanity cabinet. That work was done by a local Huntington Beach custom art and mirror framer (Rainbow Frame & Art).

I called yesterday inquiring if they can come to the house we are buying to see and estimate the remodeling of a dated kitchen. The lady asked right away if how much is my budget. When I told her that it will be around $15000, she just answered right away that the average kitchen remodeling in Orange County is $25000 to $55000. She didn't even bother to ask any questions or give me any options. I was also planning to ask her for some stucco work in the window but I just did not continue. This company does not deal with small projects so, if you are thinking of hiring them for some projects below $25000, don't waste your time calling them.

Dear Member, Our minimum job like you can see on our profile page is $6,000 NOT $25,000 Kitchen remodeling projects in GENERAL run between $20,000 - $40,000 That what you were told. more projects on the house will not change that. your budget for you KITCHEN REMODELING is $15,000 and that will NOT WORK. not because it is too small for us, we do projects for much less than that just NOT KITCHENS! our custom & detail level is higher than standard. we did not want to disappoint you and waist your time to meet with us & design beautiful kitchen that you will not be able to afford. We are sure you will be able to find a contractor that can work with your budget or you can just wait and save some more We are apologized that you did not give us the chance to explain over the phone. We wish you GOOD LUCK finding a good contractor!

Called Horizon and another company both I got off of the list. Mark came out with in a couple of days and did an estimate. I could of save a week if I would have just gone with Mark that day. I waited for another company but was very disappointed with having to chase them for time and estimate. I finally got tired of chasing the other guy for a bid and Horizon had made a couple of courtesy calls so I gave them the business. I am really glad the other guys were flakes. I signed and agreed to work scope very detailed on Thursday They showed up on Monday and by the second Friday we were using our beautiful new bathroom. They were fantastic and the work is excellent. Bruce
Description of Work: Had Horizon Construction remodel a bathroom for us. Replaced tub with walk in Shower and tiled floor. They were amazing very professional and very diligent in getting work completed. Mark came to house when they were finishing up and I had a small list but he found stuff he wanted fixed I was not aware very professional I would recommend using Horizon for any job. Excellent craftsmanship and they were very clean and professional during the process. Best of all we are delighted with our new bathroom. Bruce

Overall, I am very happy and I love my new bathroom....I feel like I am in a fancy hotel instead of my own bathroom! My first phone call with Horizon was with Enna Eskin, the office manager. She is very detailed and asked a lot of questions about the project I wanted to do. She then made an appointment for the project manager, Mark Besnos to come out to my house. We discussed what I wanted to do, and he had some very good suggestions. For example, he suggested that I add the lighting above the shower and tub, and he also suggested that he could put a bench in the shower, and utilize some of the extra space in the room to expand the shower and tub. I would have never thought of these things (even after watching tons of HGTV), nor did the other contractors I obtained quotes from. I then went to the showroom with Mark and picked out the tile and accents for the shower and the tub, and the granite for the countertops. Mark then came back to my house and went over the written estimate with me. The estimate was extremely thorough and detailed. Since I liked Mark's ideas, felt the price was fair, and had seen favorable reviews on Angie's list, I signed with Horizon. The beginning of the project went very well. Mark had given me an estimate of 3 weeks; based on past experience, I figured it would take 4. Unlike most contractors I have dealt with, Mark and his staff were always extremely punctual. They showed up on time, or even early. They cleaned up after themselves every day before they left. Since I work all day, and could only see the progress when I got home in the evening, Enna continually called or e-mailed me to keep me informed. The tile work in the shower is absolutely beautiful, as are the countertops and the backsplash. Horizon was very responsive to whatever I needed done. For example, they sloped the tile surrounding the tub so that it could drain into the shower. Apparently they do this all the time, but I thought it looked funny, so they changed it and leveled it out. They also moved the lights above the vanity because I didn't like how they were placed the first time. The negative for this project had to do with the installation of the jacuzzi/air bath tub. The first 2 inspections, for the rough plumbing and hot mopping for the shower, went off without a hitch. The problems started with the final inspection. The city inspector refused to sign off because he said the electrical for the tub was not done properly; an additional electrical line needed to be installed, among other things. We then went back and forth for at least 2 weeks. Horizon told me the inspector was asking for things that weren't asked for in other cities, and kept asking for something new each time he came out, and the inspector told me that Horizon's electrician simply didn't do it right and he felt they were trying to cut corners. I would get one phone call from Enna telling me one thing, and then another phone call from the inspector telling me something different. I found myself not knowing who to believe since I was getting different stories....the answer is probably somewhere in the middle. In hindsight, I should have been present for each inspection, but it is very difficult for me to take off work in the middle of the day. When the inspector finally signed off and I used the tub for the first time, the air bubbles didn't work; I could hear the motor was on but no bubbles. Horizon came out right away and fixed it. The next time I used it the bubbles worked for about 20 minutes and then just shut off and wouldn't come back on; again, I could hear the motor but no bubbles. Horizon came out again the next day and fixed it. It is fine now. I don't know whether the tub I bought (combination of air bubbles and jacuzzi jets) is extremely complicated or if Horizon's electrician is less than competent (as implied by the city inspector). I just know that everything went off like clockwork until the final inspection and then we hit a roadblock. This is the only reason I gave Horizon a 'B' for Quality. If not for the problems with the tub, I would have given them straight A's. My suggestion for anyone else would be to make sure you know what is required to install the particular jacuzzi/air bath tub you buy, and be present for the inspections. Bottom line, my new bathroom is beautiful and I am very happy with the finished product.
Description of Work: Remodeled master bathroom. Removed existing shower (stand-alone), soaker tub, countertops, sinks, light fixtures, and mirror. Installed new tile shower with travertine floor, shampoo shelf, soap shelf, corner bench, and frameless glass doors. Used wasted space to make new shower larger than previous shower and allow for a larger bathtub; this included relocating the drains and water lines. Built and tiled frame for jacuzzi/air bubble tub, Installed tub; this included running new dedicated electrical lines from the garage through the house to the bathroom. Installed new recessed lighting above shower and tub and new fan in toilet area. Installed granite countertops and new sinks on top of existing cabinetry. Tiled backsplash over vanity. Installed all new hardware and fixtures. Pulled city permits and worked with inspector to obtain necessary approvals.

This is a 53 yr old house---my husband had his own railroad contractor business--no time for this house plus we traveled for 42 yrs off and on. My son in law watched this house a couple months ago when I traveled and told me lights flickered--need electrical check---I knew I needed bathroom floor repair--Am recent widow and knew nothing of repair--my son in law checked several sources and he found Mark Besnos and Enna Eskins at Horizon Construction and Remodeling gave him the best answers---were honest--Mark Besnos came to the house and met with son in law and I--and we began gradually repairing house---first electrical needs---and then onto the bathroom needs and unfortunately we found much mold in flooring of bathroom---and onto checking laundry room found more mold in flooring and the the kitchen floor was a shock to me as did not see any mold until removed one kitchen cabinet and a lot of the kitchen flooring was full of mold. Mark Besnos and his workmen---have done a remarkable job of getting this 53 yr old neglected house in excellent shape and my children will have a home that is an asset in the future when I am not here to help them. My son in law and I thank Mark Besnos and Enna Eskins for making this difficult and extensive remodeling an easier and more pleasant experience---especially with Mark Besnos insight into helping repair an old neglected house. IT NOW IS A BEAUTIFUL HOME!!!!

Overall the experience went well with the exception of a couple of scheduling and communication misses. Quality was very high. They have a couple of very skilled tile/stone workers. Most of their crew is very clean. One crew showed up one day and forgot to put down plastic floor covers and the foreman was out there within the hour to correct them. They were very responsive to our requests. Will use them on our next project.

The kitchen was the major project - we replaced counters, cabinets, backsplash and appliances. They handled it all from the custom cabinetry and granite to the plumbing and lighting. While big projects like this inevitably have glitches, the thing that stood out about Horizon was their attention to detail and commitment to quality. Errors and problems were remedied rapidly and without issue. They were on the job reliably and consistently, finishing the project ahead of schedule. We love our new kitchen! Thanks Mark, Eli, Enna and the whole crew!
Description of Work: Mark's team at Horizon did an entire kitchen remodel for us. In addition, they removed a couple of walls and a fireplace.

I contacted them online through the website and I didn’t get any response. So, I wasn’t happy with that. They never responded to my e-mails. All the companies that I contacted had good ratings on Angie’s List and were fairly local. They said they would work in our area. So, I went with that and contacted Horizon Construction & Remodeling, but I wouldn’t contact them again.

Mark and Enna were complete professionals. They helped us form a vision that worked and delivered beautifully. They were focused on quality and would go the extra mile to make sure that we were happy with the work that was done. They completed the job weeks ahead of schedule and the price was consistent with the original estimate.

The project went great. They were here when they said they would be here. They were organized, neat and clean. Best of all, they finished our project about a week ahead of time. From the beginning, they gave us a VERY detailed estimate. We knew exactly what was going to be done and how much it was going to cost. There were no surprises along the way. We made a couple of changes along the way and they were handled without missing a step. Mark and Enna were great to work with. They listened to what we wanted and offered great suggestions to help us achieve our dream bathroom.. Work went on everyday, right on schedule. Each night when the workers left, they completely cleaned up after themselves. Disruption to our household was minimal. Our bathroom looks great! The best recommendation that I can give is that we will use Horizion for our other remodeling projects including another bathroom and our kitchen. Thanks Horizon for a great job!
Description of Work: Remodeling of the master bathroom - included complete demolition, enlarging the shower, new tile work, glass shower door installation, new floor, new bathroom cabinet, installation of bath ventilation fan, drywall, patching, new granite and sink. new lighting and electrical outlets. Basically we gutted the room and put in everything new.

After our call to Horizon, Mark came out very quickly for an estimate. He spent a great deal of time going over the areas of concern, making sure he understood just what we wanted, He offered several suggestions and showed us the samples of tile, granite and marble that he had with him. We received his estimate a few days later. Because of his favorible estimate and the fact that he could start the work quickly we started the work in a few days. Enna, the office manager, brought the contract and clearly explained all the details. They also took care of all city permits and inspections. The work went very smoothly. Mark or his foreman, Eli checked on the progess each day. Any question or concern was immediately addressed. All of Horizon's employees arrived promptly and did a very professional job. Enna also called frequently at the end of the day to check up on the work or any concerns that we had. There was no lag time and the work was actually finished ahead of schedule. We were very pleased with the work and the pleasnt interaction we had with Mark, Enna, Eli and the rest of the Horizon employees. We certainly recommend them highly.

I'm currently taking estimates on a remodel project that I will be doing on a home I am purchasing. The home is currently in escrow, bank owned and vacant. I have full access to the home via the agent to take estimates. The project is expected to begin around 8/15 as soon as escrow closes. I have already had one contractor come out to look and bid without any issues. Plus I am scheduling with painters, flooring specialists, cleaners, and landscapers. None of these professionals have had any issues with the escrow situation and have gladly come out to meet me. After contacting Horizon and speaking to Enna, I was shocked to learn that they will NOT come out to estimate my new home because their time is too valuable. Of course if I pay $300 they will gladly come. Seriously?!? Since when does the customer pay for estimates on projects? No thank you! They may do great work at Horizon. I can't speak to that because I will never find out because my time and bank account are too valuable to ask them to come out at those extortion rates. Upon writing this review the following morning I received a phone call from an unrecognized number which I allowed to roll to voice mail. The call was from the same lady I spoke to at the company. The voice mail lasted for over 2 minutes in which the woman shared with me her extreme dissatisfaction at receiving a less than glowing report. She expressed that "I" was ruining their reputation and suggested that "I" was the problem and a poor customer of Angie's List. Further, she indicated that I was a waist of their time and the time of other contractors because I was not being "Fair". In my opinion, there was no motivation on her behalf to resolve the situation or problem solve with me. The intent of the call was merely to be harassing & bully me for posting my unsatisfactory opinion. There was a complete lack of professionalism about the call. Perhaps I misunderstood, but I thought that the purpose of Angie's list is to share experiences - both positive and negative. This happened to be my experience. They are welcome to not like that I posted it, just as I am welcome to not like my experience with their company. However, they are not welcome to harass me or bully me for posting it. As a final point, I do not believe this experience was a total loss. In all sincerity, as a result of my experience with this service provider I have leaned a couple of things which I will take with me in the future (Thank you Enna from Horizon for pointing out the first. I appreciate your feedback and I will take note.) - 1) Read the profile more carefully for the "little details". I will MOST certainly do this in the future. Had I not had this experience, I may not have otherwise had that feedback. It may save me from future problems. 2) Customer service is far more important to me than cost. I would encourage the provider to learn something from this experience as well - what ever it is for them. I might suggest to them, when following up with a customer on a less than satisfactory report to try to problem solve rather than blame the customer - even if you believe you are right. These reports are ONLY feedback for you to use as a tool to improve your company. It's up to you how you use them.
Description of Work: I called to request an an appointment for an estimate on our remodel project.

Dear Member, we don't see a reason for you to be Upset! We are a professional company & our time is voluble!!! exactly like yours. we were suppressed to be the first to tell you that consultation is not always Free! Many reputable Contractors, Designers, Architects & Engineers charge for their time and their ideas. On our Angie's List Profile page we explain the option of FREE Consultation - that we provide to Home Owners Only. You are NOT a home owner yet! Your offer was just excepted like you mentioned, unfortunately in life we not always able to receive what we plan for. You have a long way in front of you and your Escrow may or may not go through. We feel you simply NOT respect our or the other contractors time but wish we and they will respect yours. The time we invest in each and every customer is MONEY - we hope you will understand and see not only your side and your money is your story. Our policy is on our profile page by a reason, we don't feel we need to apologized for our decisions. We wish you all the luck closing this Escrow and become a home owner!!!

We now love Angie's List because that's how we found Horizon, Mark, Enna, and Eli ! We've had both good contractor experiences, and otherwise. We had never used Horizon prior to this job. Our experience with Horizon has gone very well over these months. We wished we had a bigger budget to have them do more work for us, because they do great work at good value, but eventually we simply had to stop so we could move in. Horizon is geared for client satisfaction on reasonably sized general contractor jobs. Here's a few excerpts of our experience: - As we were settling on early design decisions, Mark was really helpful. Mark has a unique set of skills in design, engineering, contracting, etc. He brought great ideas forward that were good value decisions. For example, we were creating a new bedroom for our son which was on the small side. He recognized that, and came up with the idea to reconfigure the closet and master bdrm closet that was reasonable, got us a bigger room for our son, and made use of wasted space so that the master closet is still the same size or slightly larger. - We had many conversations, as normal for such a project, about materials, finishes, and etc. Mark was really helpful at guiding those discussions to make good value decisions, based on what he heard from us. We've had contractors in the past who really know only one style or price-point and try to push it constantly, but we felt that Mark did a great job of listening to what we wanted and coming up with good creative ideas and compromises based on our objectives. - Mark, Enna, and Eli were all consistent and reliable. If they said they would meet us at the house at a certain time, they were there on time and ready. We'd be lying if we said they were perfect, but they really made every effort to do their best. - Our area has a substantial list of HOA requirements. We never once had a single complaint from a neighbor or HOA the entire time, despite a lot of work being done. They hauled off their own trash so our little trash bin wasn't overwhelmed, and generally kept the place picked up. Thanks, Eli ! - Shortly after we started w/Horizon, my husband noticed that somebody had backed into the mailbox and asked Mark if he thought one of his guys had done it. Mark just looked at it, and said "Don't worry, I'll fix it." A couple days later, a new mailbox is there that matched the old one, all fixed up. No debates, just happened. - Near the end of the project, my husband made a comment about how the drain plumbing was routed. A couple days later, it was fixed. Again, no big debate or issue, just happened. - After our front door was refinished, the exterior had a green tint to it that we had not expected. It wasn't terrible, and perhaps we were the only ones who would notice. Mark asked how we liked it, and could tell from our first reaction we didn't really like how it looked. But, it was not a terrible issue and we formally told Mark and Enna, in writing, that we'd accept it as-is and not to worry resanding/finishing it only for a modest cosmetic issue. It looked fine, and quality was good, but we just had an expectation of a more brownish deep wood finish. A week or so later, they refinished the door anyway, and now looks perfect. There are more little stories like that, but you get the point. We thought that Horizon was highly focused on Customer Satisfaction in the way they ran the project from beginning to end. They took care to do good quality work, sought client feedback in a constructive way, and addressed issues quickly and practically. They had to get some city permits in this project which they got without a big problem, and they passed all the city inspections without issue. One of the things which makes Horizon unique from others we considered was that there was no middle-man handoff from the Sales rep to the person who actually manages the job. We worked with Mark, Enna, and later Eli throughout the entire project. We really enjoyed getting to know them, and we thought the continuity of the relationship definitely contributed to the efficient outcome. In our experience with Horizon, we found them to be professional, ethical, skilled, and hard-working throughout the process. We would recommend Horizon to our own family members. Thank You, Horizon. You are a great team !
Description of Work: We had recently purchased a home and wanted to do some extensive remodeling before we moved in. That job included: - Installing a new loft in a room that had a vaulted ceiling, and tying that new 2nd floor room into the existing stairs and hallway. This included new recessed lighting for both the new loft, and the now-shorter bottom floor room. - Remodel the kitchen, including removal of an old fireplace to open up the kitchen and living room, new tile floors, reface and refinish all cabinets, replace all appliances, new backsplash - Create a new bedroom from an existing open space, and re-frame the closet walls in the new room and in the adjoining master closet - New wood floors in the 1st floor of the house, and new carpeting in the 2nd floor - New interior paint throughout - Refinish the front door - Miscellaneous (installing new lights/fans/etc) This project required securing a few city permits, which Horizon did without problem. All in, I think this was about a 3.5mo project. We did not move in until it was completed.

They completely wasted our time. They gave us this quote and several days later, they called and basically doubled the price. When asked the reason, they said they gave the wrong price. The guy who came out was rude and really horrible. The quote was originally for $2500 and they increased it to $5000.

Dear Member, The only question is: why you were so ready to sign the contract, right on the spot at your house, and also after on the phone with us??? IF, like you explaining we were rude & horrible when giving you the estimate. It is sound a little inconsistent. Like something not right about your story… We apologized on the phone, the calculations on the spot were not exact. This is the reason we did not want to sign on the contract, even though YOU REALLY WANTED until we will re calculate & look at the project details more at the office. Thank you for your appreciation, that we, NOT like many other contractors did not sign you on the contract and then add costs! THANK YOU!!!

Horizon Construction and Remodeling recently helped remodel our floors, kitchen and two bathrooms. They were extremely thoughtful in the planning and preparation, making sure we got the best results possible for our price and preferences. Their designer considered how to maximize each room for practical use, while making aesthetically beautiful and cohesive living spaces. The workers were efficient and thorough. They even allowed us to change our mind on tile selection, ensuring our satisfaction. We are extremely pleased with the work they did. Not only did they install beautiful cabinets, designed to our exact specifications, but they helped us find appliances and fixtures that fit the new decor. I can't wait to show all the new improvements in our house to our friends and family. I am extremely grateful for Horizon Construction and Remodeling's professional and friendly approach to our home improvements and would gladly recommend their services to anyone considering any part of a home makeover.
Description of Work: We had the floor tile, counters, cabinets and bar compelety remodeled in the kitchen. We added wood floors in the living room. And we completely remodeled our bathrooms including showers, cabinets, counters and floors.
