+ 0 moreReaching the office and getting a return call was extremely difficult and they cancelled at least 2 appts. with me. The electrician did a fine job when he finally got him here. His work was great and he cleaned everything up. But the office and set up was terrible.They need better office staff and organization. I was ready to cancel and get my money back when I finally got an appt. set that someone showed up for.

+ 1 moreHe is a very nice guy. The first time he was 2 hours late. He did finally call and say he was going to be late. The second time he was late. I had bought the Angie’s List big deal, so I had $200 worth of work for him. I left a check and he had my son write the check for $193. I sent him an email saying that I did not understand and asked him for an itemized statement of what he did, because this more than what I expected. He got an attitude and said that the job that they did was a little more complicated than he had expected. I told him that I was not questioning what he did, I just wanted an invoice saying what you did and how much it cost. I never got one. His wife who does the bookkeeping called me and said that the other ceiling fan quit working. I her that I use that fan all of the time and they needed to get out here and find out what happened and why it is all of a sudden not working. It turned out it had been turned off. He finally came back and gave me my check back, because the work did not cost close to $400. It only cost the $200. I do not have a receipt or a guarantee; I do not have anything. I would not use him again. He seems to know what he is doing. It just seems like his business practices are a little bit lax.

+ -1 moreIt was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I had to call them to schedule the appointment. They finished the job a week ago and I'm waiting on the paperwork. He said I would have it from the office in a couple of days. The job was great. He was about 15 minutes late but he called and told me. He estimated that he would be here 4 hours and he was here about 3 hours and 15 minutes. The guy that did the work was knowledgeable. The guy that did the estimate looked at the job to see if we qualified so there would not be any extra charges. He did a great cleanup job afterwards. I would use them again but I think the office is a little slow.

+ 1 moreOverall, service was excellent. I called and had someone (Michael) come out and give me a quote. We made a few adjustments until the price was agreeable to me. On the day of the service, Michael was not available, but sent Sergio. I was concerned that I had to "re-go" over everything with Sergio so he could get a handle on what I needed. To my surprise, Sergio was on top of it and didn't waste a minute getting everything done. He was amazing. I highly recommend Budget Electric, and if you can, ask for Sergio.
Description of Work: They installed four dedicated sockets, pvc pipe along the outside of the house and two motion detection lights.

+ -1 moreI'm requesting a refund from Angie's List for the big deal. Between the work not being done at my house in Saturday June 22, lack of an emailed quote until this afternoon, and being patronized and insulted by Michael during our conversation, we cannot have this company service our home. Budget Electric should be ashamed treating your customers in this manner. They were not even planning on getting a permit to replace a subpanel. When I asked, Michael said that I would have to go get a permit because I was the one that wanted it. I'm surprised they are in business with this overall type of customer service.
Description of Work: It took several days initially after I purchased the Big Deal. Then emails through Angie's List instead of phone calls to arrange for service. Too much back and forth until finally someone called me. I said I would need work done on a Saturday. The first available Saturday for both provider and me was 5 weeks after the deal was purchased. Installation work was to be performed. When provider arrived, he was surprised that I expected work to be performed that day. He thought he was only giving an estimate. We have such a busy Summer and we already waited 5 weeks for the work to be done. We scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, estimate did not arrive by email until 12:30pm on Tuesday.

+ -1 moreI purchased a Big Deal coupon for Budget Electric. They were pretty fine when they came. One thing I'm not sure is that they were supposed to give me an electronic report of the results. I'm not sure if they sent it to the wrong e-mail but I haven't received it. I sent them an e-mail asking to send that again, they said they will but then that was last week. Yesterday, they actually sent me a message asking if I have received it or not so I asked them to send it again. Overall, the experience was good except for the report being sent over. They explained to me what was working and what wasn't.

We were working together to apply the amount of the coupon towards a similar job and other small jobs. They haven’t let me know what the final amount would be for the similar job. I have since decided not to go through with any work. I appreciated their honesty and recommendations.

I waited three weeks for contact from this company. I never heard from them. Now, three weeks later, I called them Wednesday and Thursday of this week and heard no response. When I called them on thursday the last time, I told them that if I didn't have a response by today (Friday) I would cancel the big deal. They did not respond and I am requesting a refund.

Description of Work: This company never called me directly and after 4 days e-mail exchanges about the electrical problem and work I needed done, they revealed that they couldn't perform the work because they were in California and I was in Washington State. Angies List process to get a refund for services not performed has been cumbersome and delayed without a good reason other than it needs to go to another department and could take up to 10 days...which is code for holding on to my money for their cash flow advantage. I had to call Angies List twice to try to get a refund. Both times they initially said that i would have to complete a refund form which would be sent to me an e-mail attachment. The first time I asked if they could complete it for me and the representative said yes went through the questions and said he'd submitted it and interim would also try to find a electrician in my service area to honor the coupon and would let me know in 5 days. When I checked back with Angies on status of the refund, I was told by another customer service representative that I had to complete the refund form emailed to me. They said that there was no other record of my prior conversation. I explained to him that I never was sent a form, because their representative had completed it for me. I first told that their was nobhistory of that being done, then was told it should not and could not be done that way, next i was told that he should not have done that for me, Then upon further pressure the second customer representative said he would complete the refund form for "me" again and submit it to the processing. As of today, still no refund and no electricity in my master bedroom.

We have had a longstanding problem with our outlets in our laundry room which turned out to be linked to the electrical panel. The problem was not straightforward but Sergio completed the repairs within the cost estimate. As a bonus, he also fixed a problem with our balky ceiling fan! He could have made the repair that day, but it would not have looked right, so he got the more attractive part and came back two weeks later. At that time, he solved a couple of other problems that I thought would be major but turned out to be minor. His work was professional, and he's a fun guy to be around.

+ -1 moreThrough my home warranty, Budget Electric was sent out to fix a non-functioning outlet. I was given a two hour time window for the appointment. I ended up calling as the service man was running late, but truth be told it was only about 5-10 minutes, and it was well worth the wait. The company was apologetic when I called and contacted the driver to let me know how close he was to my house. Upon arrival he was very courteous and apologized for the delay. I showed him the problem outlet and let him know what I had tried so far. He went through the basic diagnostics, and then followed all safety protocols with the fuse box while checking out the splicing box in the crawl space area. It turns out to have been loose wiring in the splicing box, and was a fast fix. I'm glad that it was nothing major and he was very cordial and informative during the whole interaction. I would certainly use them in the future (or at least until my dad returns from Africa as he's a licensed electrician.)

I told him we would pay for it, and he told me he would order the part and possibly bring it the next day. I called him twice over the course of several weeks. My husband called him twice. Each time we left messages. We never heard a word. Finally, in about mid-January, we gave up. I'm not happy writing this review, because he seemed like a nice guy who knew what he was doing, but I can't be making four phone calls and getting no response,
