Description of Work: Well, they came out to look at what I needed and told me they would send me an estimate. I never heard back; even to say they could not do the work. I realise, home repairs are not that exciting but a call back to say they were available would have been nice. I rarely give a bad review but customer service is always important to me.

Description of Work: Changed electrical fixtures

Description of Work: This visit focused on a series of electrical problems. Most we complicated enough that they were well beyond my skills. Everything was fixed and within the time and budget we originally discussed.

Description of Work: They repaired a loose kitchen faucet (it needed to be installed correctly this time--the prior vendor didn't do a good job). They also strapped our bookcases to the wall (for earthquake preparedness) and did this all very efficiently and quickly. They were prompt, efficient and helpful. I will definitely call them again for home repairs around the house.

Description of Work: Had a long list of tasks--from replacing a light bulb in a fixture I could not open to hanging a window shade. The two-man team came on time, worked quickly and quietly, and did everything perfectly.

Description of Work: Fixed a closet door, fixed a water system problem, replaced part for my toilet, fixed a light fixture, replaced security locks on cabinets, secured drain pipe on side of house, gave me estimates on other work that needs to be done. They will be back on Dec. 29th to complete the other work. VERY Satified!

Description of Work: Moved a refrigerator water line to a new location for the install of a new unit. They were on time and got the job done as estimated.

Description of Work: Great services. My Ikea closet didn't come with all the nuts and bolts and he had them ready and put my closet together and mounted on the wall. Without him, I doubt we were be able to put it together.

Description of Work: Richard (owner) disconnected and removed a giant stacked washer and gas dryer that was installed in an upstairs closet. In order to do so he needed to remove faucets, and maneuver in very tight quarters with his assistant's help. With his helper he maneuvered the monster down a long flight of stairs and out to the garage. The collaboration was a pleasure to watch. He fixed a leaking cold water faucet (told me it only required tightening), then proceeded to the other items on the list I had given him on the phone. His helper replaced a wax ring under a toilet that was not stable and had leaked. Richard replaced a water line to an instant hot water heating unit (botched by previous handyman who never returned to "complete the job"). I had asked if he could repair an oven door, which I thought needed a spring. This is a double oven. In order to figure out what was needed, Richard (and helper) had to pull the whole thing away from the wall to see what was broken, and it turned out to be a piece of the frame which attaches a spring (as I understood from his explanation). It required his contacting the manufacturer about the part. He told me he would do that and let me know the timeline and cost for the part and how soon it would be shipped if I wanted to proceed. He estimated that it would take about an hour. He called the next day with the information and the plan is to do that and my other projects (which I am accumulating) when the part arrives. Since the washer dryer I had ordered is a considerably smaller machine that doesn't require venting, Richard had some suggestions about how I could use the rest of the space, ie shelving--He took measurements so he can get the materials ahead of the next time. I can't say enough good things about Richard and his work and his personality. He is enthusiastic, resourceful, works precisely, articulate and confident, yet respectful, knows his craft and is a pleasure to work with. He is very industrious, and leaves nothing out of place. He does exactly what he says he will do and quickly. He is responsible. He calls when says he will. He even arrived over an hour earlier than I expected, which was great! And on top of that his charges are reasonable. This was not my first contact with Richard. I was under the impression that he only worked for an appliance company, from which I had purchased appliances that he installed in my home and in my daughter's. I was delighted to discover that he was the "handman specialist" of The Home Improvement and Repair company" on Angie's list (way at the bottom, because apparently he hasn't filled out all the paper work).
