Gerald and his company were fantastic to work with from start to finish. Gerald himself came out to the initial two visits - we were sold after the first estimate visit. But he wanted to make sure we thought things through and refused to have us sign until the second visit to complete the paperwork - that's integrity. He gave us insights into different selections for window colors/hardware/trim/etc. We scheduled for the install a few weeks later - his guys came on time all 4 days and got the job done beautifully. Their Simonton windows seem to be excellent quality and carry a double lifetime guarantee. We are beyond thrilled with the job well done! The only negative part of the job was that a portion of our fence fell down when a window was leaned against it. We're still working out the details to get it fixed.

Coughlin Windows & Doors came out and advised us on patio door options. We agreed on a install date and the doors were installed. We are very happy with the whole process of getting the old doors replaced. We highly recommend Coughlin to anyone wanting replacement windows and doors.

My initial home visit went very well, all details about the windows, installation process, and the warranty were fully explained and documented. Installers arrived on time and finished in about 4 hours, less time than I expected. The windows are beautiful and were professional fitted and sealed. I am very happy with the result and will use them in the future.

Everything went very smooth. Apologies to the company for my delay in writing this review - my son was born around the time of the install and we needed a way for our dog to get out on his schedule! Mike Gaynor also installed an in-screen doggie door no charge on his own time to complete the install. It is nice because you can have the slider open and the dog can still get in/out. Some things about a retrofit like this to consider (I would still do it again but these are things I could not see before the finished product) * The retrofit slider into a double door creates a smaller opening to walk thru. There were some options I researched w/ respect to cutting down the bumper and getting different handles to enlarge the opening but after using the doors for a couple weeks I stopped noticing! So they are as they are to this day and it is really a non-issue. * The retrofit slider raises the floor up a little bit (1") so more of a drop now now into the backyard. Stopped noticing after a couple weeks. * The doggie door installed in the screen. Since the screen doggie door is larger than the insert doggie door, when both screen and main door are closed the dog can get out but not back in! I've done this a few times wondering why Solider is barking outside and realized I shut both doors! Not a major deal - just need to remember to leave the screen door open for normal operation. I think if the screen doggie door were smaller than the main doggie door you would have the opposite problem - dog gets locked in! So I think this is probably the best configuration possible (at least for us). All in all a great company - install went very smooth. Highly recommended.

David King came out to discuss our requirements and prepare our cost estimate. We were pretty clear that we planned to do the job in two parts and wanted it priced at the unit level, i.e. each sliding door and window. We received a single quote for the entire job. and when I asked him to "please break out pricing by each unit", David responded "it is difficult for the quote software to break out the line item pricing, add sales tax, include any discount and add the labor." His inability to provide the cost breakout as we requested cost them the job. If the software is that difficult to use, which I doubt, he should have done a separate estimate for each window. I won't deal with a contractor who can't fulfill a simple request, as it's an indication of what kind of problems I would face if something didn't go right with the job.

Very Impressed with this company, the personnel, and the products. I have never worked with a home improvement contractor any better than Coughlin Windows. We had several challenges with this job as I was doing a re-stucco on majority of house but front of house previously had wood siding that was being changed to stucco to match rest of house. The house had four different types of windows from old aluminum from original construction, to two different types of new construction vinyl windows, and two replacement windows. The vinyl windows needed to be removed to allow identical replacement windows to match rest of install. The owner, Gerald came and assessed the various needs of my mismatched windows and provided a solution to make all windows identical styling. They also needed to work with stucco contractor to schedule the work at two different phases of the stucco work. The installation crew was top notch and they even replaced some rotten wood found under a couple windows that the stucco contractor was looking for additional dollars to repair. You always expect surprises with renovation work but in this case everything went very smoothly. Thank you Coughlin for your professionalism and excellent quality of workmanship. The house looks great!

Every thing was smooth and professional. From David in sales to Steve the installation manager and the installation crew - all were a breeze to work with - met with Dave at the house where he gave us an estimate, went to the show room to see the doors up close - scheduled the installation and they showed up on time to do the job. Installation was done in the estimated time, doors look and work perfectly, installers left the site clean and neat - we couldn't be happier.

We started our research with window makers and decided to go with Simonton windows based on superior reviews across a number of sources. So we started with the windows, and then determined which contractors to get in touch with. We selected Coughlin and one other window installer that had good reviews on Angie's List, or other sources. The first thing that I appreciated about Coughlin was the responsiveness. We initiated an inquiry on their website, and received a response quickly and had an appointment for a quote the following week. Gerald Coughlin, the owner, personally visited our home, took initial measurements, and provided a printed, computer generated quote prior to leaving and provided additional computerized quotes at our request including various door options. This is not something I expected, as the other potential vendor hand wrote an estimate which he prepared while sitting in his truck. Gerald carries his office with him and can provide this information with detailed window and door depictions, which provides an additional level of comfort in the process. Coughlin was somewhat more expensive than the other vendor that we were looking at, but the reasoning was sound. Gerald discussed with us that they use high quality caulking materials, and that their crews are highly experienced (our crew had been with Coughlin for many years). Windows will be in place for years, so the quality of the materials used and the installation matter for durability and proper performance. Our installation was scheduled to take place over a five day period. The first major hiccup came with the pet door. The sliding patio door was installed on day one, but the pet door was not installed for another ten days. Which meant that we needed to get up every night for a week and a half to let the dog out in the middle of the night. This seems like a simple checklist issue - is there a pet door? Yes. Don't install the slider until we have the pet door. Check. We also have three windows with what are referred to as eyebrow arches. The interior trim for the windows needs to be manually entered into the ordering process, so we went three weeks without any interior trim on the arches of those three windows. One reason that we went with Coughlin is that our kitchen has what Gerald referred to as a lean-to window. It is a standard glass paned picture window, with a glass paned sloping top window above. Kind of like a garden window, only not glass on the sides. The other company offered a vendor made top window that would not be a Simonton product. This stood to prove the expertise of the experienced Coughlin installation crew. There were additional minor glitches - stucco repairs were made as needed, but initially not painted. The lean-to kitchen window required additional trim work to correct a poor decision by the installers. There were some miscommunications between the office staff and me. But to Coughlin's credit, every item brought to their attention was rectified without complaint or argument. One error made by Gerald himself was the challenge of over-promising and under-delivering. We already had pretty high expectations, and when Gerald discussed our unique situation (heavily textured exterior stucco) he provided a solution that we thought sounded appealing and would improve the looks of an already good looking product by mimicking the look of new construction windows. Because of our eyebrow arch windows, they were not able to follow through on Gerald's promise. The windows look good, but based on expectations set by Gerald, we expected them to look almost like original installation windows. The installation crew wasn't able to do that to our dismay. The majority of the work was completed in five days. But additional visits were required to install the pet door and fix minor mistakes over the next few weeks. The end result though, is beautiful windows and doors that enhance our home, and our comfort. Some of the original single-paned, aluminum- framed windows were no longer square. They allowed noise and drafts. The new Simonton product is superior in every way - good looking, easy to operate, providing more thermal insulation to both heat and cold, and improving sound reduction from a nearby freeway. Plus they have one of the best warranties in the industry, one which we can pass along to the next homeowner, no matter when that is. Gerald is a fine young man with the right idea of how to run a business. He uses employees which are accountable to the business and its customers, not sub-contractors which are not. He understands that it takes more than the right materials, and experienced labor, but exceptional customer service as well. He personally revisited with us after the job completion to review the issues that we had, and to make sure that they were all ultimately resolved to our satisfaction. His commitment is that once you are a customer of Coughlin Windows, you are a customer for life. I feel confident that if any future issues arise, Coughlin will do their best to resolve them as quickly as possible.

Everything was fantastic. The salesman David was professional and knowledgeable, but not high pressure. He worked with me to ensure that I got what I wanted from the type of locking mechanism to the enhanced sound package I wanted on the bedroom windows that face a busy road with a lot of traffic noise. Steve came out to do the final measuring and was just as professional and knowledgeable. Greg and Jesse installed all the windows in two days. They worked quickly, cleaned up after, and it was hardly an intrusion at all. They were friendly and professional throughout. I've never had such a pleasant experience with workmen in the house. Coughlin installed Simonton Windows which are great. They look better than other vinyl replacement windows that I've seen and I've gotten compliments from the neighbors on how good they look. The house is quieter and looks great. Wish I'd done this years ago.

HIstory: I had old aluminum, single pane, 'junk' windows in my house. My SW facing house heated up like an oven every afternoon. I got bids from a total of 3 companies. I chose Coughlin Windows - and they were the perfect choice. This job went tremendously well in all regards. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. This was a wonderful experience from start to finish! Gerald Coughlin visited my home and provided a lot of information about Simonton windows, the products, the warranty, everything! Theresa (in the office) always called to confirm the appointments. Gerald is a great family guy, with many years of window and doors experience. He inspires confidence that he knows the product and all the unique items I was requesting and needed. Great to deal with him! Nick and Tim performed the installation and finishing work. They were very friendly and worked their butts off! They reassured me all along the way (particularly for one large window that I was worried about) and addressed my 'worry-wart' concerns. For me the customer, it was a perfect experience for how a project should be done. They tidied up, cleaned up and put all my items back in place .....even the items that I had moved prior to their visit. They were very fussy about all the finishes, the caulking, trim, plugs, etc. Just perfect!! All Coughlin Windows team members are professional, inspire confidence and are a pleasure to work with. From the beginning, David King was very helpful. He guided us in identifying how best to reconfigure 2 windows and 1 slider in our house that we weren't happy with. Originally we had planned to use the HERO program to finance the work, but as he was knowledgeable about the program and informed us of several details about it we hadn't read about in the fine print, we ended up getting a loan through our credit union with much better rates and no hidden fees. We were very appreciative that he took the time to provide the information about the HERO program that he did because he didn't have to do that - either way his company would have gotten the job and same amount of money, but he clearly wanted us to make a decision based on all the facts. The job took two weeks, but only because they were willing to work around our schedule. Everyone showed up when we expected them to, were very respectful and conscientious, and great about keeping the area they were working in clean. We would definitely recommend Coughlin Windows and Doors to anyone considering this type of work. We got several quotes from other companies and found their price to be competitive and the product (Simonton windows) excellent.

We did not want to leave our windows to chance, therefore I interviewed several contractors before making my choice. David King (general manager) impressed me. He understood my needs, my problems, and gave me options! I have never regretted my choice. His crew remained extremely professional to the very end. We will need more windows and we will certainly keep Coughlin on the top of our list!

From the moment of my first phone call to the last "good-bye" to Jesse and Greg, who actually did the installation, Coughlin did a first-rate professional job. The price was competitive -- a little better actually for the quality of windows; their offering was Home Depot's upgrade at a better price -- and Dave, the measurer and order taker extraordinaire,was very easy and great to work with. I am very happy with everything Coughlin did. I would definitely recommend them -- and have -- to friends and family. I'm very happy with my new windows!

Coughlin did a stellar job for us replacing 11 windows on our 1961 home. The sales manager (Michael) was very informative, professional, punctual, and focused on customer service. The products they offer are a good product and their pricing is very competitive. They were also great about working around the schedule of some other home improvement projects we had going on at the same time. We had one tricky window that needed some special attention because of some work we had done on it prior to hiring Coughlin. Gerald, the owner, came out and took a look at it, and they were able to fix up that window as well. Everyone we dealt with was very concerned about our happiness with the final product. And it shows. I highly, highly recommend Coughlin for all of your window and door needs!

Great experience from the initial meeting with Gerald, working with Ricardo and Gerardo during the installation, and then the final inspection with Steve. The installers were on time every day, explained exactly what they would be doing, and worked diligently throughout the day to ensure they accomplished what they promised. They took a lot of pride to ensure the finished windows looked professionally installed and exceeded my wife and my expectations. After the installation Steve came by and inspected every window to ensure it met the high standards this compant said they would deliver on. Throughout the entire process I felt as if they were installing windows into their own home. This is a solid company that comes through on their promises. I checked Angie's list carefully and chose three vendors to come and give estimates for this job. All three estimates were within the same range, so it was Gerald's manner that won them this job. He was open and forthcoming about differences in the products without ever disparaging another company or product. His estimate was detailed, leaving no questions about exactly what we would be getting and the work that would be done. When a second person came to take measurements, he made suggestions that would improve the overall look of the windows. I appreciated that both men looked at the job from the perspective of what they would do for themselves if it were their home. Installation day arrived and Greg and Jessie were amazing. They worked at an amazing pace to get the windows in, and then took their time with all the finishing touches. From first steps to clean-up, I felt that they both did the highest quality work with attention to every detail. I couldn't be happier.

Estimate process was awesome. Gerald came out for the estimate. He explained the whole process and was more than happy to answer any questions I had. The crew did a great job, respectful, patient (little kids), and cleaned the place up better than when they arrived. The quality of the windows is outstanding. Overall I'm very impressed and happy with the services. I just called to schedule another estimate on a new house.

From start to finish, the project went very well. Measurements, quotation process, installation and follow-up were all done with quality, courtesy and promptness. We would definitely use Coughlin again.

Everything was great. I had originally met with Gerald the owner back in November 2013 to get a quote on the whole house. I had bids with 3 other places and they were very similar. I went with Coughlin because he had a few suggestions the other guys didn't and he had the best warranty. I recontacted him in July and he was very quick to get the job done. The four windows were put in in half a day. The guys that came out were very polite and professional and cleaned up after themselves. Very happy and will use them to complete the rest of the house in the future.

From Mike, (who coordinated the sales end of things) to Gerald the owner (who did the measuring) to Nick and Tim (who did a fine installation) the job went smoothly and professionally. Beyond doing competent and meticulous work, the pervasive friendly attitude made this project very easy on our end, as the homeowner. (A special thank you to Mike who even serviced our other older large vinyl windows (at no extra cost) that we didn't replace. Now we can actually open them without effort!) This is our second project with this company. Several years ago, we had a large slider replaced in a rental we own. There were some extra problems with the frame and they took care of it at no extra cost. Needless to say, when it came time for this current project, we knew who to call. Other friends who have used Coughlin and been just as pleased. In these last few years the company has grown but none of the ecxellent customer service has suffered as a result. They are as good as ever!

This is the third house I have had Gerald and his crew replace windows and doors. This is a great company that does excellent work. I just ran out of windows for him to replace! Seriously though, they are clean and efficient and the work has a professional look. Price is very competitive.
