The experience was absolutely perfect. Gerald Coughlin, the owner, came out to give me the estimate and is a class act all the way. I have dealt with Gerald before and he is the best in the business. The two man crew that did the widow replacement were excellent. Steve, the lead man, and his partner are just want you want in people working in your home. They both were hard working, repectful of your concerns and property, showed up on time, cleaned up as they went along and finished on time. I couldn't be happier with the job they did and the finished product. I highly recommend Coughlin Windows and Doors.

When Gerald first entered my home to give an estimate, I considered him one of the window company sales that will follow almost the same procedure. In no time, I was impressed by his attention to details. He explained to me in different options I can consider for replacing my windows why in my case I should consider retrofit instead of new installation. He also went ahead explained how his company operates. He worked hard to get a price that I can accept and he is very flexible on the schedule and always tried to get you the windows the earliest possible shipment. He & his team's response is very prompt and via different ways, phone call, text message, email etc. And you will feel this is a team that will be there with you. The installation is so smooth and they took extra efforts to accommodate your situation. During the project, they are not able to finish the installation in one trip as I need them to finish the basic installation first, wait for me to finish surrounding remodeling and call them back to finish the trim & seal. The installation team is very accommodating and they did spend multiple trips. I initially was only thinking replacing just a few windows. I was so happy with their first job so I continued with them on my second job and then the third one after the second. I ended up replacing 10 windows & doors in my house and they all look great. I still have some windows left and I'm considering getting them here when I'm ready. A great local company and an excellent team.

This process started with owner Gerald Coughlin visiting my condo to provide an estimate for the job. He took his time explaining all the installation details and to answer all of my questions about Simonton windows. After providing me with the estimate, I accepted his proposal on the spot, because I had already completed my research on several window replacement companies on Angies List, and new that Coughlin received rave reviews. Also knowing that Coughlin used exclusively Simonton windows (which are highly rated among their competitors) was part of my decision making process. Several days later foreman Steve Brandon came out to the condo and made careful measurements of the existing windows and door, and answered any additional questions I had. I felt very comfortable with these guys each step along the way, just like other reviewers had stated on Angies List. A few weeks later, on an installation date that I requested, the installers arrived with a portion of the windows to be installed for that day. They got right to work. These guys were very pleasant, even with me watching the entire installation process. They completed the entire installation of the 18 windows and one sliding glass doors in 3 days just as they had stated in the proposal. Each day they hauled away all the old hardware and debris, and cleaned up everything just as they had found it.The new windows and door look beautiful and work great. The Coughlin crew did an outstanding job, right down to the last detail. The company has been a pleasure to work with, and I would and have already recommended them to several friends. As when Gerald Coughlin and his crew replaced the windows in another mid-50s home we own, the work was done within the 5-day time estimate. It also was done competently, including the framing needed to turn a sliding glass door into a picture window. We've had zero problems with the windows or frames. The final bill matched the estimate; we appreciate no surprises when it comes to money. We are delighted with the quality of the work and service we received.

Randy and Tom arrived on time for the installation, and immediately placed drop cloths over our new carpeting in the area of the installation and at the doorway. I really love that they treated my carpeting and furnishings as if it was theirs, being super careful. It was obvious that these guys took pride in a job well done. They were very careful about our outside stucco. They polished those windows for us, and they were sparkling. Steve came at the end of the installation process to do the final inspection. This man is a gem! After hanging my blinds, Steve noticed they were not hanging correctly, and he installed longer brackets so they would draw easily and hang nicely. This was not his job, but he knew something was wrong with those blinds, and now they are gorgeous. Wow, is all I can say about Steve! If you want a professional crew to install windows and doors, this is the company for you.

Coughlin Windows installed a new bank of windows in our kitchen. This house was built in 1993, and this bank of windows were constructed in a "lean-to" fashion - the windows continued up into the slant of the roof line. The Project Manager, Steve, is thoroughly knowledgeable in home construction and was able to overcome a number of obstacles arising out of our home's construction and condition. He fabricated a beautiful finished look inside that accommodated the newer blinds we had purchased earlier in the year. The exterior presented more challenges due to the afore-mentioned "lean-to" construction, but Steve was able to make everything look and function perfectly! And, since the installation of our new windows, there has been an EXTREMELY noticeable decrease in our enegy bill. In all my interactions with Coughlin Windows, from the first phone call through final touches and clean up, every one was extremely professional. Phone call were answered/returned promptly. Every one was punctual. And the pricing was extremely competitive. We are planning on replacing some more windows within the next year, and we will definitiely be using Gerald and his crew again.I would recommend Coughlin Windows and Doors to EVERYONE.

We really liked the price and their professionalism. They knew what types of windows to put in. We were satisfied with what they did. We had another company come out so we were pretty much satisfied with the price they provided. They retrofit the windows and they are vinyl. They also have a guarantee. We would use them in the future; there is no doubt about it.

I live near a major road so the noise during rush hour (morning and evening) can be significant. Once in a while a loud motorcycle goes by at night that comes through very loudly. As such, I searched through Angie's list for options on installing new windows in my home, which had original aluminum frame, single pane windows. My primary concerns were the bedrooms on the backside of the the house. I called Coughlin Windows for an estimate and Gerald, the owner was on time for the appointment. He was very thorough in explaining what his company did, why they use Simonton Windows, and the warranties associated with the windows and labor (double lifetime). Gerald was very passionate about what he did and will definitely provide a thorough overview. He accomodated my request for obtaining quotes for just the bedrooms, or the bedrooms and kitchen window+door. These quotes were further broken down into two categories with standard dual pane, or sound package windows. Gerald was also offering a promotional marketing deal where I would get a price break if he could place a yard sign for his company in my front yard, along with use me as a reference - good and bad, whatever the outcome - he provided a list of references to me and even noted a couple people that had rework done. He was confident how he addressed any issues would be professional and well thought of. After consideration, I took the promotional deal for a sound reduction package for the windows and sliding door. His lead supervisor Steve came to do the evaluation and sign the contract (which I liked - they were upfront with all the paperwork). Steve was very professional and courteous as well, and punctual. He collected my deposit, and noted the rest at completion of the job. When the team showed up for the job, they were very courteous, professional, and proceeded to work diligently to complete the job. Towards completion, Steve returned and helped put some finishing touches with his team of 2 gentlemen , verified the quality of work, and took notes on outstanding issues (one of the warranty cards was missing and he noted in his quality checklist for it be mailed to me). My window frame structures were not level, so the guys had to put in some more elbow grease to level it out to ensure the replacement windows could be installed properly, which they did. Overall the sound has significantly reduced (never eliminated, but most certainly a noticeable difference) and the windows look great. I am happy with the job and these guys took great pride in their work, were professional, and upfront with everything. Great experience with no hassle and no following the contractor around or pushing them to meet quality or schedule. The team was proactive who managed themselves as professionals should. I recommend Coughlin Windows.

We finally decided to replace the windows and French doors to try and save on our energy costs (old windows and French doors were very drafty). We received 4 quotes, all from Angie's List window contractors, and chose Coughlin Windows & Doors. We are VERY HAPPY that we did. Right from the get-go, Gerald (the owner) was very punctual and showed up on time for the estimate appointment. My 3-year old son was circling him throughout the whole measuring process and much to my wife and I's surprise, Gerald recruited him as his helper for the project. That made my son very happy as he was being included and not shooed away. Gerald showed great passion for his work and the products he was representing. He answered all of our questions and gave us his suggestion on aesthetic issues. Coughlin's price wasn't the lowest ($600 higher) nor the highest ($150 lower), Gerald's enthusiasm is what sold us (Coughlin's installation, product, and breakage warranty also helped). Steve, the projects manager, arrived on schedule for the final measurements and to draw up the contract. Like Gerald, he involved my son Jaidyn in the whole process. They became instant friends. So much so that when Steve stated he was going to lunch, Jaidyn ran to our fridge and started offering Steve everything that was in there. After Steve left, Jaidyn kept asking if Steve was coming back to do more measurements. Everyone at Coughlin Windows; Gerald (owner), Steve (project manager) and the 2 install guys were very punctual. They were very pleasant to have in our home, were clean and efficient, and did a very thorough cleaning of the work areas before they left. A few minutes later Steve arrived for the final inspection/walk-thru with us to make sure everything was done correctly and to our satisfaction before accepting the final payment. The new windows and sliding glass doors look great. NO MORE DRAFTY WINDOWS!!! If and when we do move into a larger home, we would not hesitate to hire them again. I highly recommend Coughlin Windows & Doors. They are great at what they do. Punctual, pleasant, clean, and efficient; everything you would want in a contractor. A few weeks later, on an installation date that we requested, installers Nick and Josh arrived with the replacements and got right to work. Later in the day, Steve joined them to help with the large window, which presented a bit of a challenge as the old window was located behind two large juniper trees. They completed the installation that afternoon, hauled away all of the old hardware and debris, and cleaned up everything. The new windows and door look and work great. The Coughlin crew did an outstanding job, right down to the last detail. The company has been a pleasure to work with, and our home is much improved because of their efforts.

The process was effortless from start to finish - almost too good to be true. We met Gerald, the owner, at his show room (he agreed to meet us on a Saturday morning in spite of it being his daughter's birthday). We first wanted to see the Simonton product and to get a sense of his company. We had had a couple of bad experiences with agressive salespeople at our house and we didn't want a repeat of that. Some of those guys are hard to get rid of! Gerald was courteous and personable and we liked him immediately. He answered all of our questions in person and via email. About two days later Gerald himself came to our house at an agreed upon time so he could give us a free estimate, the price of which we thought was very reasonable and several thousand dollars cheaper than what we'd been quoted 2-3 years ago. We also got quotes from two other Angie's List providers who were well reviewed. We chose Coughlin for both the quality and price. We were able to get the new windows installed the following week - no waiting at all. The guys who installed the windows were excellent - Josh and Kurt - their workmanship was just beautiful. They took down AND replaced the window treatments and totally cleaned up after themselves. Great work ethic and really nice guys! The windows look beautiful - what a difference. We're so glad we found Coughlin Windows from Angie's List and have recommended them to several of our neighbors.

We were extremely pleased with the service provided and quality of windows installed by Couglin Windows and Doors. We live in East County, and there was no problem having Gerald Coughlin come out from Escondido to give us an estimate. He explained every detail before we signed. Steve B came out to measure every window and had some great suggestions, which we followed. The installation crew came out on time on the day promised & finished the installation in one day. The workmanship was impeccable and their clean up was excellent. Steve B surpervided the job and made sure everything was up to the company's high standards. They installed Simonton windows, which far exceeded our expectations. That says a lot because we like to research everything very thoroughly before purchase. We decided it was time to change the windows in our new-to-us home as they were the original single paned ones. We received 3 quotes and decided on Coughlin Windows & Doors and are very glad we did. I called to see about getting a quote and talked to Gerald (the owner). I explained that I would like an appointment earlier in the day so that my husband could be present before he went to work. Gerald had no problems with coming over at 8:30 in the morning and he was prompt, professional and very easy-going. He answered all our questions honestly and made appropriate suggestions when needed. He left the quote when he left and I called back a few days later to say we would like to hire him. Gerald & Steve came over later that day to pick up our down-payment and for Steve to do the final measurements. We set up an installation date for about 3 weeks later for the windows. The sliding door would have to be installed on a separate day as it was being custom made because of the dog door and would take longer to come in. The 2 installation guys showed up promptly and were very pleasant & efficient workers. Their work was excellent and they cleaned everything up before they left. The same 2 gentlemen showed up a few days later to install the sliding glass door and did another great job. Steve returned a few weeks later to do a final inspection and make sure we were happy with the work and the product. We couldn't be happier & have nothing but good things to say about Coughlin Window & Doors!!

Very knowledgeable and professional. This was a fairly big job and was completed exactly on schedule. The new windows look amazing and put my neighbors' retrofits to shame! Price was reasonable and among the lowest for any name-brand window that I had received. They are very responsive as well. I had a minor issue with the screen doors that were installed and they came out right away and replaced them, free of charge. I would highly recommend this company and I wish I could find companies like this for all of my projects!

We couldn't be more thrilled with our new windows. During the initial quote visit with Gerald Coughlin (owner), he was prompt, personable, and very knowledgeable about the windows and what options would work for us. We could tell he's passionate about providing not only quality windows (the brand he uses are highly rated), but also takes pride in a quality installation. This was definitely seen in the subsequent job after we selected Coughlin Windows & Doors. The installation team was polite and professional. They moved furniture out of the way as needed and after installation, put everything back, including reinstalling our blinds. In one area, they even had to redo some poor window framework done by a previous owner to ensure a good job on the new installations. They took the extra time needed to make the fix with no complaint. We especially enjoyed working with Steve, the friendly installation manager. He did a great job communicating to us on any necessary details and inspected the job afterward. Throughout the whole process, everyone was a pleasure to work with, and the detail work on our beautiful new windows and door is impeccable. We're so happy with the job and happily recommend them.

The replacement and installation of the 7 new windows was completed with professionalism and right on schedule. The amount charged was totally in keeping with the estimate and work was completed in the one-day time frame given. Installers did an excellent job and cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. Gerald is the consummate professional. Great customer service is his ultimate goal and he delivers. He will give you the same great service whether you are buying one or twenty windows. His installers are the most polite young men I have met in a very long time. They did such a beautiful job with the installation. The new window in our kitchen was the first thing our holiday company noticed and they couldn't get over how nice it looks. I will most definitely call Coughlin windows in the future as we replace the other windows in our home.

To start, I found them here on Angie's list and wrote Gerald one sunday evening. I got an email back the next day and because of my job I couldn't meet with him during the week. He took his saturday afternoon and came out to see the house and see if he could help me with my windows. He gave me all the information I needed about the windows and was very personable. After some debate I decided to go with Gerald and he and his install manager Steve came back out the next weekend to take final measurements and set a date. They both were great answering questions about the install and the windows and they obviously respected my home, going so far as to take off their shoes when they came in after seeing my pile of shoes next to the door, something I very much appreciated. When it came to trying to set a date, I knew that I would not be able to have them come during the week given that I would not be around and we started to see how long out it would take before I could take some time off. Gerald readily volunteered while he didn't like his guys to work through the weekend, he was willing to try and get this job done on a Saturday to try and earn my business. We set a date for the weekend after he received the windows from the factory. We originally had thought that we would not be able to get all of them in in a single day, so we prioritized a few them and we figured we would either have someone come out on Sunday to finish up or we would have to set another date later on in the month to finish up. Much to my surprise, I had three guys show up on Saturday morning and start working to get the project done. They were able to complete everything in a single day, greatly making my life easier, and with really great results. Apparently Steve was able to find a part time guy that he had trained himself to come in and help out and that is what made the one day install possible. There was only one small hiccup and that was my patio sliding door was supposed to have a key lock on the outside of it. But, once I pointed it out, they called Steve and he said it was their fault and they would order it on Monday. He said he would call me as soon as the next truck comes in and considering it is a 5 minute handle swap he would come over the next night I was available after work and swap the handle out. That is great customer service and exactly what I wanted to hear. They made it very clear that if I had any issues with these windows or the install at all that I needed to call them and they would come out and fix it. These guys are a true professional team and they did great work. They come with my highest recommendations for anyone looking to get windows. If I have any need for window work in the future I will absolutely be using Gerald and Steve to do it.

Gerald Coughlin is the owner and the person with whom I had the initial contact. He was prompt for all the meetings we had for information and estimates and very knowledgeable and helpful with decisions. Steve did the installations. He arrived at the agreed upon time, worked hard all day to install the two sliders and the very large plate glass window. His work was excellent and was completed on time. The door and window for the new construction were installed by the contractors doing that work, but both Gerald and Steve were available for any questions they had and came over to adjust the door and locking mechanism at no extra charge to me. Whenever I had any questions, Gerald was available to talk to me and very prompt in returning my calls. The cost was exactly what had been estimated, and because of the quality of the windows and the workmanship, I feel that the cost was reasonable. I would definitely have any future window replacement or installation work done by Coughlin Windows and Doors. i am very happy with my experience with them.

Called 3 companies for quotes on the job. Coughlin was not the cheapest but the most professional and the best quality. He was also kind enough to adjust his rates slightly to be closer to his competitors. Steve, his head installer, was very professional and on time. The job took 3 days overall. He found that the screen door was a little bit off the usual specs from the manufacturer and called in a replacement from the manufacturer. I couldn't really tell the difference. It was above and beyond the call of duty. They left the place clean. Windows and doors look better than the old aluminium ones. Very satisfied.
