Everything from the initial consultation, to window measurement, to the install day went smoothly. Install day was great, they laid out blankets around the windows while removing the old windows and even vacuumed the area once the new windows were installed. Their attention to detail was excellent! I just had the house exterior repainted about a week before the windows were installed and they did there best at keeping the caulking around the window nice and neat, I was truly impressed.

Everything went very smoothly. The owner, Gerald Coughlin, did the original proposals. His installers were punctual, efficient, and professional. They did a great job and I appreciated their attention to detail. Gerald gave good advice about what to expect, what to look for in the window characteristics, and replacement windows versus new construction. I would certainly use them again and recommend them to friends.

He is just a real likeable guy and down to earth. He knows the business.

The metal windows in our 1920's cottage were warping and too difficult to maintain. Selected Coughlin because they consistently had the best reviews on Angie's list. The company was prompt, very courteous and professional. Met with sales rep, Mike Gaynor who is extremely knowledgable and familiar with all phases of the business. He worked with me to design and select windows which fit the character of the house. There was 1 window i left original because it was in good shape in the laundry room. The new windows were so superior I had it replaced as well. The installers were efficient, courteous and everything went smoothly. The windows look great! Especially appreciated the time and effort of all the staff to make sure the customer is happy.

Owner was very knowledgable of his product and believes in the product. He was easy to get in touch with and the job was completed in a reasonable time frame. The installation was efficient and the workers did a great job of cleaning up after the job was completed. We are very happy with our windows and the service we received.

The Quote: The quote process is very similar to other companies' process. A guy comes out and does a preliminary measure in order to provide a quote. For many other companies there is a dog and pony show about the window technology and all manner of upselling. That was not really the case with Coughlin. The guy who came to do the quote was a gentleman by the name of Michael - really good guy. He noted our previous experience with the process, listened to our immediate and long-term needs and provided some guidance on what we should do. The interesting thing I noted on the quoting process between most window teams was the trash-talking about the competition. These guys did not do that. In fact, they praised other window products for their quality and were interested in how other teams operated, but never trash-talked the other guys. That was another point for them in my book. The Coughlin team was one of two teams that actually had a computer on-hand and provided and electronic quote. Their whole intro package was very professional and the electronically entered and printed quote was a small, but nice touch. They came in a little higher in price than one (of 4) of the competition, but not by much. 13 windows for around $6300...I was stoked! The Installation: The guys who came to install were great! They came in and quietly and efficiently did their jobs. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure I was satisifed with the product and installation. The final product looks awesome! Some observations: During installation deposit and final payment the credit card reader on their phone was not working. I'm not fond of giving people my credit information so it made me uncomfortable. I noted that the addition of the non-expanding foam that they use was not as liberal as what I was expecting. I should say it was inconsistent - sometimes it was fairly complete and other times it was not. The way that all window company teams describe it makes it sound like the whole gap is completely filled with the foam. Not really in this case. I understand the need to cost-cut and I don't really know how much foam is good enough...but based on the descriptions from Michael and others...it did not jive. Final Comments: The Coughlin Team works with a good product, has a great team and does a fantastic job. I am thoroughly satisfied and plan to have them out in the future to do another part of the house that I could not do on this run.

We obtained three estimates to replace all windows and sliders. Coughlin was selected because of their sales rep, David King, the obvious quality of the Simonton product, and a very competitive price. David was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and concerns without disparaging the competition. We obtained HOA approval, notified David who, after measurements were taken, then placed the order with the factory and set an installation date about a week away. Two very experienced and professional installers, Geraldo and Ricardo came promptly at 0830 on a Wednesday to begin. They completed about half the job in the first day but then the big rainstorm came and they had to postpone until Monday the rest of the work. Fortunately they had fully completed the installation of three sliders and four windows, complete with outside caulking, so there was no concern with the rain. They returned bright and early Monday and worked a long day, to about 7 PM and completed the job. The installation was flawless. I looked it over carefully and could find no issues at all. They cleaned up all the debris, vacuumed as needed and left the premises looking great, with beautiful new windows. We could not be more pleased.

They were very professional, and they bent over backwards to do their job. This was an old apartment, and so it was difficult, and we would use them again. The sales person, and the people were all very professional. We were very impressed.

This is an excellent firm - period. From the salesman, Michael Gaynor to the owners Diane (and her husband whose name I didn't get) Coughlin, they literally did everything I asked and then some. First, Michael spent time providing me with some information on the various qualities of windows. Secondly, when I expressed concern that the windows be installed within two weeks so that my contractor not be delayed in drywalling, he called the office and verified that this could be done and they were willing to put it in writing. Third, their price was very competitive, and while not the lowest, they were within $25.00 of the lowest, but provided a superior quality window (Simonton Daylight Max) which were perfect for the mid-century home they were being installed in. On the appointed day, their installers were there exactly when they said they'd be and the installation was perfect (my contractor said so!). And finally, when I made a mistake and wrote the wrong amount on my final check and delayed paying them by a day, they were very understanding and made it easy for me to get them the correct payment. I honestly don't think I've been this happy with any other contractor I've worked with. Call them for an estimate, you won't regret it.

From the moment Gerald the owner came by to bid the work up until the work was completed everyone was professional and respectful . I absolutely will recommend this company.

I like that the owner of Coughlin Windows & Doors Inc comes out himself and does the talking and screening with you. He's always available, just a phone call away. You should use him just for installation. I got the doors from him and the only place he could get them was from Milgaurd and Milguard was absolutely lousy.

The contractor (Steve Hansink) who remodeled my home, recommended Coughlin Windows and Doors for the purchase of the front door for my house. They provided us with brochures, prices and information. The quality was high and the prices were very reasonable. The front door is an unusual size, it was delivered in a timely manner, is very beautiful, and I am very happy with it! Steve picked up the door and he refinished it for me. I did not have to go into the shop. However, I went into numerous other shops and the prices of their competitors was very high. It went well. They have good prices and they are quick. They did the installation. They are not pushy and they have a good product. This was the second that I have used them.

All went very well. I was very pleased with them. They helped me out. They were cool. They were honest and they told me what I had going on. They did a good job. They were very professional and straight forward. They were upfront and they worked with me and gave me options of what I could do with potential problems I might have.

The quotation was reasonable and the salesman was super friendly, polite, and eager for our business. He had excellent suggestions, and was able to work within our remodelling time frame for installation. The installers showed up on time, and worked diligently throughout the day. The windows looks beautiful and they took the time to do the install job right. The only reasons I am not giving them an "A" is that they played their radio very loud in the house during the install, they left a large amount of broken glass in my planter area and patio that I am still picking up. They didn't finish the job until after dark, so they may not have realized that all those shards of glass remained below the new windows. Overall, I would use them again, but ensure that the installer cleans up any broken glass before they leave.

I was completely satisfied with the price and quality of the installation done by Coughlin Windows. I was more or less sold on the Simonton windows/doors and the price after talking with the salesman, but after meeting Gerald (the owner) I knew I had chosen the right company. He spent an hour at my house while the measurements were being taken, ensuring that the openings were all measured properly and that all of my questions were answered. He is a straight-shooter, not a salesman, but ended up selling me on his company with his down-to-earth, honest and non-salesman approach. The installation crew was very friendly and professional and worked hard from the minute they arrived in the morning to the minute they left late in the afternoon. It's been about 3 months now since the windows and patio doors were installed, and I am absolutely thrilled with the job. Given that I had 13 windows and 2 doors installed, I knew there might be a few problems. I had 3 minor ones - one of the window sashes was cracked (which didn't affect the operation of the window), one door had the wrong finish on the handle, and one of the screens was a little too snug. I called them back a couple of days later and everything was taken care of within 2 weeks. I was more impressed by how they handled the minor problems than had there not been any issues at all. The office staff was also very friendly and helpful, and made the whole experience extremely positive. I will most likely never need replacement windows or doors installed again, but if I do, my first and only call will be to Coughlin.

The crew was exceptional. They were on time, called with progress updates and communicated what to expect in terms of Time on site and any specific needs. There was a need for a return trip, which was caused on our end - they once again ensured we were kept up to date on all the specifics. Doors work great, look beautiful - could not be happier. I wish all construction projects went this smoothly.

Contacted Coughlin and one other highly rated window contractor listed on Angies List for installation of 2 large patio doors and several windows for home remodel. Mike Gaynor the sales rep had a wealth of knowledge and was very straightforward. Did a great job explaining options and negotiated a fair price that was several hundred dollars lower than the competitor who was offering an inferior manufacturer's products. Installation crew was very professional and courteous and left all the trim in great condition. Very satisfied and highly recommended.

The sales rep that visited with us was professional and courteous, but that is where the good experience stopped. We had Coughlin in to quote replacement of front windows due to street noise. When I met with Michael Gaynor we also discussed the fact that the brand of sliding door they carry could include a dog door, which was a great incentive for us to replace an otherwise nice wooden slider on the back of the house. Ultimately it was the possibility of having a dog door that made us choose Coughlin over a much better priced competitor. When Gerald Coughlin came out to take final measurements, he talked my wife out of the dog door size we wanted (and had for 10 years at our last place with the same dog) by saying things like "If it were my dog I really wouldn't do that." This was over my strenuous objection (my wife called me at work) and insistence that we had the right size. He played on our care for our dog to easily persuade my wife that we needed the larger door instead of respecting our clear desire for the product we said we wanted. Result: we ended up with a dog door large enough for a Bull Mastiff, Saint Bernard, or me - a 6' tall, 225 pound man - to easily traverse. It literally came half way up the slider, to my waistline. When I expressed our displeasure to Michael Gaynor, he assured me that the company would make it right, even going out of his way to call me late in the evening and assure me he would be meeting with his management the next AM. That was right before he had his wings clipped, and I never heard from him again. Gerald Coughlin instead took over, and refused to do anything to help. Despite acknowledging that he talked my wife into the lion-size door, Mr, Coughlin was rude, aggressive and completely unprofessional. Furthermore, as I began to look and I noticed that the install job was terrible. Window handles are bent, window frames are scratched, and the installers left black handprints all over. Worst of all, they decided to run a saw inside my garage without asking, covering everything from sporting equipment to electronics to laundry in sawdust. Then they ran it outside and coated the side of the house in the same. These guys made zero effort at tidiness or post-job clean-up. This was a terrible and costly experience. FYI, I have NEVER written a negative review on Angie's list or any other site before this.

These guys are fantastic. We had one pane of a double-paned sliding glass door break, and we were concerned about having to replace the entire door unit, which would have been extremely expensive. We called Coughlin to request a quote, and they sent someone out to us the same day. He gave us an estimate, and the door was fully repaired within a week, which is impressive considering the fact that the glass had to be custom made. Their technician was able to repair the door in approximately 45 minutes. Overall, we are extremely satisfied with the work they performed and will use Coughlin again if needed.

and The appointment with the owner went well, and due to recommendations on Angie's List I did not contact other contractors for bids as the cost was within my budget. Installation was extremely professional. Craftsmen took out old door and replaced the new one and you'd never have known. They helped me out by replacing part of the frame my landscape contractor had removed when installing my patio, with a 2x4 I had available.
