The first sales person was impolite. He laughed at the idea of a $2999.00 coupon. What I thought I was going to get for my $2999.00 and what they wanted for the job were totally different. I personally believe the advertising for the coupon was false information. Even when I decided to get just one side of the building done, their cost to me was $12,000.00. I felt it was a bait and switch coupon/AD. They were very insincere. They never wanted the job and kept pricing so very high that I could never afford it. For a company that is supposed to be top rated, they definitely did not act as if they wanted to work with me. I felt that they laughed me off. I would never hire them to do anything for me because of their macho attitudes.

Rep measured the house and came up with 2749 sq ft. Interior is around 800 sq ft. and garage interior approx. 600 sq ft. Total around 1500 sq ft. Agent explained exteriors are measured different that interiors. Service included water blast, patch cracks, prep work and BHER paint. SOD Office did several follow-up calls regarding agent visit. Agent was nice. Not sure how agent figured footage. He had problem with some siding (Plywood) that required extra work with no warrenty. SOD total estimate was $4448, $2,948 more than special price of $1,500. . Declined bid

My experience went well. They had some great recommendations for the kitchen and bathroom. The staff was professional and highly knowledgeable in their field. However, I ended up not using their services for the remodel.

I did not use him. After consulting and getting other bids, there process was the cheap way to do it. He tried to upsell me on painting and doing texcote, rather than do stucco.

Please understand, I'm writing this review months and months after the service was provided, because I keep getting the pop-up asking me to review. (The date I put in there is totally a guess. It could have been 6 months earlier.) There's a reason for this, which I'll discuss later, and it relates to the "D" for Professionalism. Bottom line, though, and this needs to be said: The guys worked their butts off, and did a pretty good job painting. They cleaned up after themselves, kept the whole place tidy, and did good work. That's the good news, and it may be enough for you to want to use them. Now the bad stuff: First, I'm not buying one of these "flat rate for 40 hours" deals again. You don't get one guy for 40 hours. You get two guys for 20 hours each, spread out over two days. That's two ten-hour days. Now, I'm not going to be all pissy about it if the guys are only there for 9 hours or something -- I mean, honestly, they've been working a NINE HOUR DAY painting my house -- but you're basically not getting the full 40 hours you paid for. Second, the Buying Paint thing was a disaster, and it was charged against my 40 hours. They said they could buy the paint for me with their discount, so I went to the paint store in advance and made sure they could whip up the colors I wanted. But when the painters went to get my paint, there were all sorts of failures to communicate. Again, this was months ago, so I can't recall the particulars, but it involved a few phone calls between me, the project manager, the painters, and the paint store, in order to finally get it straightened out. Third, and here's where the Professionalism grade started to take a dive: They handed me a printed out copy of an Angie's List form and demanded I fill it out before they leave. I said I'd write my Angie's List review online, after they left. They said no, I had to write it on the form, and they'd mail it in. I filled it out under protest and handed it to them. And, I noted on the form that I was NOT AT ALL HAPPY about filling the form out when they're standing right there in my living room, watching. Guess what? They never submitted it to Angie's List. That probably knocked them down to a "C" on Professionalism. Want to know why it's a D? Keep reading. Fourth, like I said above, they painted about half my house. OK, fine. That weekend, there's a knock at my door. One of the two painters. Says he's here to do the rest of the job. It wasn't entirely clear if he was doing this on behalf of SOD or his own side painting business (I think it was the latter -- I vaguely recall him handing me a business card). I consider this to be EXTREMELY unprofessional. I mean, it would be one thing if he'd made the offer when they were finishing up work -- I'd actually expected him to do that, y'know, "Hey, if you like our work, we'll do the rest of the house for another $999" or something -- but I'm totally not expecting the guy to show up at my house, over the weekend, supplies in hand, saying that he's here to paint the rest of my house. No, no, he's not. Really unprofessional.

After the project manager and crew chief approved the scope of work; half the work was done; they wanted another $300.00 to complete the work on another day. I don't know the date of the work, so I just guessed.

I do need a print out prior to that that was promised in the advertisement. numerous phone calls and Emails. I requested to speak to the owner,after the s.k.team leader was going to call never did and after a long time I got a e-mail from the owner that he was out of the country on vacation.He responded with an e-mail did respond back that I was going to my summer house in Seattle to after Labor Day and he responded that he would have a carpenter there I need to have a print out as promised in the advertisement and my questions answered instead of promises.

They were great, although there were a few edges in which they did not paint correctly.

We selected SOD after evaluation of two other Angie's list contractors, mostly on professionalism and response to our needs. Guliano was the project manager and was interesting, attentive, responsive, and knowledgeable. Their initial cost estimate low range was unrealistic but the high range was reasonable. Independent comparison of cost indicated that SOD costing was typical. There were some haggling over some minor cost issues but all was addressed satisfactory. Costing did escalate but that possibility always exist prior to damage exposure shown upon roof removal. After hearing several horror stories about how difficult some contractors could be, we were apprehensive but SOD was listed favorably on Angie's list, so we were somewhat reassured. Once work began, we were quite impressed. Work generally started on schedule and every team attacked the job with enthusiasm, working hard and genuinely seemed very interested in pleasing us. On the few occasions where I needed to comment on an issue, it was greeted with professionalism and instantly attended to. I need to especially call out the painters, who, in dealing with an apprehensive and indecisive wife, was agreeable and patient and, in my opinion, went well beyond expectations in meeting our satisfaction. Except for a few minor issues, the quality of work for each team was exceptional. Also, the quality of material used seemed very good and, when I independently researched various items like paint and windows, their statements were supported. Another item in which I was impressed with was their apparent honesty. Through a miscalculation we accidentally over paid a progress payment, and, before we could question it, SOD's business office contacted me and asked me what I wanted to do about it, including returning it. We just added it to the next progress payment. Some things to do. 1. Make sure the estimate includes all cost. 2. While most team members were sensitive about oil drops from trucks, they tended to lay the protective cover down after the truck was in place. They should lay the covers down before they drive the truck on the driveway. Some drops are probably unavoidable. 3. If you are going to use the driveway, make sure each team scans the driveway after every work day, preferably magnetically. They typically do that after roofing, but is needed everyday. All in all, my wife and I are ecstatic about the results. We think that Guliano and his team did a great job. The roof has a modern textured look, the windows look great, the paint is beautiful and almost flawless, and the gutters perfectly match the house. Except for selecting colors (not a contractor issue), the whole process was mostly stress free (big projects are never stress free). If you are looking for a great job at a reasonable price, I don't think you can go wrong in selecting SOD.

They were excellent in all areas. Bids were reasonable. Preparation was thorough and clean-up complete.

They contacted me promptly after I purchased the coupon. They showed up on time and explained the estimate to me in detail. They also followed up with me to see if I had any question. Even though I did not use this company I would consider using them in the future.

Called on their exterior paint special of $1399.00. I knew ours would be more because the special was for a 1500 sq ft house and ours is almost 2700. Our house was built in1990 and in good shape except it needs painting. He walked all around the house trying to find fault with everything. Suggested we use a better paint than the special. End result was a estimate of approx $9,400.00!! He did show up in his new Mercedes on time!

It could not have gone better, even though there was a language barrier, the men could communicate and were willing to be patient with me if I had a question. Each night, all equipment was put into the yard so it was out of sight. I would recommend this company to anyone that asks, they are the TOPS as far as I am concerned.

We set up an appointment which they confirmed several times. Each time they stated that I should be prepared for additional charges. I wasn’t sure how they knew my home was larger than the deal specifications and they said that they had seen the home. I asked them to describe it to me but they couldn’t provide details. They never did show for the appointment. It felt like a bait and switch since they immediately started to upsell and didn’t show for the appointment.

They were okay. It was just kind of rushed I felt and it was just a little bit sloppy. They didn’t clean up and they left stuff behind. I think I had to have our handyman come and clean up. We had to pay them extra for something. I was thinking it wasn’t a really good deal with all the crap that was left behind. I wouldn’t use them again because I think they are more involved and they wanted a bigger job.

They did a great job. The bedroom looks like new. They just came and id the job like I expected them to. It was a bigger job so there’s a lot more at risk and it’s a little more complicated and they did what they’re supposed to do and did it in the time that they said they would get the job done so I was pleased.

The package was for $1299. I was really upset because when they came out to look at the job to give the estimate, they seemed like what they promised was not what they delivered. They kept saying that this wasn’t covered and that wasn’t covered. So the estimate turned out a lot more than I had expected. My house has Tesco paint and they wouldn’t warranty their job because it was over the Tesco paint. I tried to contact the company twice to see if they would refund me but they haven’t called me back. They didn’t give me the final estimate because I wanted to talk to the company to get my money back.

They were easy to work with, and they listen to the specifics of what you needed. My overall experience with them was great! I would absolutely use them again in the future.

I'm a first time remodeler - I did not realize how difficult living through it would be! And emotional to see your house being destroyed. SOD Builders were great - very professional & I love how everything turned out. Well worth the stress of going through the process. Thank You Oren, Michele & Adi for a beautiful home!

It made me think what is the purpose of placing the add.

This is our second time using SOD Builders. They had done a major home renovation, including a gut remodel on our kitchen, new floors, new electrical, and paint, about a year ago. They did such a great job with our previous reno that we called them, and them alone, to do a small bathroom job. After Oren came and gave us the estimate, his countertop guys showed up a couple days later to take measurements. They had the Caesarstone fabricated in less than a week. I was almost shocked by the speed. Their office always called promptly to schedule and follow up. Customer service was fabulous. Demolition and installation took 2 hours, and their plumber came the next morning to hook up the faucet. It was as painless a process as could be, and the end result looks fantastic. We have a lot of experience with this company and highly recommend them!

The Contractor Oren Dagen was one of only a handful of contractors who was willing to respond with a "competitive bid", many contractors only want to come out and give you a "Sales Pitch", that was not the case here. The bid was well thought out and did make some suggestions on where improvements could be made, but wasn't pushy in any way. With a mutually acceptable contract written, the crew began work. The crew was pleasant, hard working and efficient. True "craftsmen" in every sense of the word. There were a number of challenges which had to be worked through, the field foreman and staff, always listened carefully, to what and how changes needed to be made, and executed to the letter. The work took approximately two weeks to complete, which was the promised time frame. The crew cleaned up the area and carefully stowed their equipment out of the way, everyday. I was very happy with the outcome, and my Mother In-Law said "the house is just beautiful" when she had a chance to see how the house was completed. I could not have asked for a better contractor, or a better outcome! My Sincerest appreciation goes out to Oren Dagen, and SOD Builders. First I was offended by the appointment process. I was asked if my husband would be present as a decision maker. I am a career woman and not married. He came out for a consultation. He asked If I had a flashlight and screwdriver. I would expect a contractor to come out prepared. He said if I wanted him to look under my house, he'd have to come back and I would need to pay $179 for that type of consultation.

Exceptional service! Responsive, prompt, fast! My first impression of SOD began with the office manager, Daisey who was helpful and comfortable to speak with. She scheduled my meeting with Liram, the outstanding site/job representative. Liram was *immediately* available throughout the term of the work. He dealt with every "problem" quickly and to my considered satisfaction. From the start to finish date, *everyday* (except Sunday) work was progressing. Beginning with the scaffolding (hillside house is from 2-4 stories high), then stucco and eve power washing, eve sanding and repairs, eve and trim painting, stucco repair and painting, gutter installation and cleanup, all went smoothly and continuously. No wasted time. Well scheduled and executed by professionals. Any questions were always easily resolved by ever present English speaking work leader. I would not hesitate to do further business or to recommend SOD. Great experience!

SOD was very punctual, easy to work with, and helpful. They had the roof done in no time! Roof looks fantastic. The wood-rot porch was also removed, They were clean (there were some nails left) but they were neat, courteous, and fast. The management called with updates and were courteous and understanding with me when I had a family emergency mid project (thank you very much for understanding that!). Would happily use them again. Could have had it done it cheaper? yeah probably, but the professionalism and communication with the staff is well worth it! When we're ready to redo the kitchen we'll give them a call.
