We live in an home that need to have so many updates and changes, some of the changes demanding some big renovations we are so happy that we actually did it and with a great company!. We started with our initial meeting like in any other project. Oren and Avi that came to the meeting, set themselves apart from the rest of the other contractors that we met as well. Oren was the main person that spent the required time walking around our kitchen, taking measurements and further doing his due diligence to see if the wall that we wanted to remove would be potentially load bearing or not. The entire kitchen design was his idea. The kitchen have a unique set up, so it was not easy to figure out all the details specially where the fridge, oven and the other appliances can go, and Oren came up with few beautiful plans and ideas for us. Beyond that first day and seriously every meeting from that point was above and beyond. He literally spend over 3 hours with us at the tile store just to help us with the new back splash, which we would have never gone in that direction, and it's my favorite feature in the kitchen. There isn't any person that doesn't come in and immediately give comments on how amazing our back splash is. All thanks to Oren and SOD builders. Furthermore, every one of the actual workers that worked at the house, was respectful and friendly. It was a joy rather than nerve racking to have all these strangers in our house. They were very respectful of dust and dirt, especially knowing we have two small children. The entire process was exceptional, from communication, to constant updates, to the overall outcome. Lastly and really so important is that from the moment we signed the contract for this project, we know how much it would cost us, we did not spend one single cent above what was negotiated and this was a huge plus for us. Even the estimated numbers he gave us that was our responsibility (tile, etc.) he was very accurate on that as well making it nice that even in this large renovation that included a wall removal there was never a time he came back telling us something wasn't going to cost more. The quality of their work is exceptional, and their professionalism is top notch. I cannot say enough about how great they are. I highly recommend them for your next remodel.

Oren and his crew were fantastic on so many levels when he paint my outside the house. I will gladly provide details on all those levels: 1) Work scheduling - Oren was flexible and accommodating on the dates and times for the project. We had to move around a few dates and was able to make it so easy. More than that, while on the job Oren made sure to stay on the time frame he proposed. I had to unexpectedly in the middle of the painting job do a minor renovation on the kitchen. Oren was so understanding and came back later that week to complete it. 2) Details - Oren and his crew worked efficiently and carefully. They were neat and clean and worked to make sure that this old looking apartment had a fresh look. After the job was officially completed, Oren performed a walk through to make sure that there is no problem with the final work. 3) Going above and beyond - From start to finish, Oren provided a wonderful service with very good communication skills. He was extremely knowledgeable in his profession. He recommended the best paints to use for the surface. 4) Friendly - You really can't put a price on this quality. Oren was super friendly, personable and I enjoyed interacting with him any time we ran into one another in the apartment. I absolutely recommend his services to anyone who is looking for a painter. 5) Price – the price was within the other prices that I got and I can say that it was worth to hire them for that reason.

My wife and I were in the process of renovating a loft space which the previous tenants had done a horrific job caring for. The space is very large (around 2500 sq ft) and has an industrial vibe, making it less than straightforward to paint: there are 10' ceilings that are not flat or uniformly distributed. I reached out to about 6 painters. From the moment Oren stepped into the apartment, the distinction between him and the others was palpable. The other painters that I was getting estimates from focused on trying to sell me on what a good job they would do, Oren focused first on thoroughly understanding the job, and what we were hoping to achieve with the space. He took detailed measurements before providing any estimates (which I was happy to see; after reading stories about others who had given deposits to lesser painters, only to see hidden charges emerge down the line, I wanted to ensure the estimates I received would be inclusive and accurate). After outlining the job to Oren, and hearing his plan of attack, which included a detailed strategy to eliminate oil stains that had seeped through the floor above us, Oren came back with his quote. As this job was large, the most efficient way to paint the space would be to tape the floors off and spray everything. Although his quote was a little bit higher than some of the other painters I spoke with (some of which were impossibly low and gave me a knot in my stomach anticipating the BS these guys were sure to pull down the line had they gotten the job) I chose Oren and am very happy I did. No job is straightforward, but I didn't pay a penny over what we agreed upon and, more than that, Oren was focusing on making sure the job wasa) Done perfectly and without any problem.B) Completed the work as he said he will.I was more impressed when Oren came back a couple days later with one of his guys to put an additional coat on one section of wall for no additional charge. The space is now beautiful and I attribute that in large part to the job Oren and his team did. I would use Oren from SOD builders again in a heartbeat and strongly recommend his services to anyone looking for a painter in my area!

We hired Oren from SOD builders to paint the exterior of our home after using another painting company painted the interior of our home, which we were not satisfied with. During our meetings with Oren and with his senior painter, we felt that he was honest, professional and really easy to communicate with. Oren showed us his past homes he'd done in the past, which were amazing, but he was also open to our new ideas (that we saw or got from other places and magazines). When you are getting bids for exterior painting, you want people who are open to jobs that are creative and maybe a little more time consuming, but stunning when completed. That is exactly how Oren is; he's allows you the time to walk the property and visualize what it could look like. He listens to you and actually paints things the way you want. Besides having a wealth of experience and knowledge, he is considerate of how a person feels about their home. He recognizes that to the buyer of services, the outcome of the services mean something to the homeowners. That's a very rare thing to find. He gave us a great quote and an excellent time frame, and he stuck to it; even when he pointed out to us that we might consider a darker shade around our windows (that he had already painted!). In the end, we loved the paint colors and the way he made our house the most beautiful on the block. He was so easy to work with, he kept his word on everything we agreed on, and he showed up every day, on time!! His professionalism is unparalleled as far as I'm concerned. My neighbors noticed too; they had Oren paint their houses as well! I am more than happy to recommend Oren Munoz's work to anyone who is interested in having their home or business done. He is awesome!

We got in touch with SOD builders about doing several things at our house. We wanted to have them paint the house, replace the windows with a double sided glass and add 2 patio doors that will give us a bigger opening space from the house to the back yard and to rebuilt the kitchen. We wanted to replace the faces of the kitchen cabinet doors and to give it a new look while keeping the existing layout of it. Oren was able to provide us with the best deal and our research about the company gave us the final approve to hire them. While we worked on the kitchen with Oren and his people, we decided to do additional things at the house that we thought it will be a good idea to do them while we do the kitchen project as well. The windows that we Oren replace for us were a double glass windows with special film (UV film). In the patio, we wanted to have bigger opening that will allow us to be inside the house while getting the feeling of being outside. Oren's people did a perfect job on that too. The last item that we did was to paint the house inside and also some touch ups outside. Oren brought to the house several people that came over and worked area by area and making sure that we can live at the rest of the house. The work came out better than we thought and we are extremely pleased with our decision to hire SOD and mainly to work with Oren.

I just completed a full remodeling at my entire house: kitchen, living room, den, back porch, bathroom, bedrooms, all the wiring in the house and the fuse switch box are being upgraded and replaced, my patio is being rebuilt and even areas of my foundation needed reinforcement. I am also having a new bathroom addition built. A daunting task, perhaps too much I thought. Not for SOD builders. Project manager Oren showed me all the confidence I needed to see to turn this project over to him. Amazingly, even though this project is still a work in progress as I write this review, I have had very little questions as Oren has made it a point to explain everything to me. Because of Oren I know what the construction guys are working on, how they are working on it and why they are doing what they are doing. Oren made sure that the architect will design the plans on top of oversee all the blueprints getting approved by the city and got all the building permits needed. There has been just a ton of building inspectors coming to my house and they have signed off at each stage of construction. I had a pleasure to meet and work with all the construction crew. They are very funny, professional, not loud people, playful, and mainly - respectful. I used to pass by in the morning in order to see them in the morning and later in the afternoon to see how much work they have accomplished. They are highly professional and I can see that they take a lot of pride in their work. I cannot ask for more. SOD builders is a good company to my opinion, the project manage Oren is professional and very intelligent person and one of the friendliest guys you will meet, and I cannot speak high enough about the construction crew.

we LOVE LOVE LOVE SOD builders. this is the THIRD time we are using them over the last ten years, each for progressively bigger and bigger jobs. they are so kind and on top of stuff and just get it done. they have a manager assigned to the task so you have someone you can always call and they have someone for everything. just whatever you need. and they do it right. whether it was little finishing touches or knowing just how to redo our old hardwood floors, what sink to put in, how to fix our cabinets, fixing the deck outside, making our outdoor area a beautiful patio space we now love, making beautiful built ins for us, interior and exterior painting, fencing, electrical, refreshing our kitchen so that now it is just gorgeous, all of it, just done perfectly. literally, i cannot say enough good things. i would never ever use another contractor. working with SOD feel like you have an uncle in the business that you can just call when you need help. and you know will be taken care of like family. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

We saw a work that was performed by SOD builders at a friend’s house. After calling them, I decided to schedule a meeting with them and to see what they can do in order to remodel my kitchen. The meeting went smoothly and I met with Oren. Oren measured and checked the space in the kitchen and he was able to come back a couple of days after and to bring with him a design of the new kitchen. His design included the removal of a wall that was in the kitchen. Removing this wall made the space much bigger and we loved it. The kitchen that Oren and his guys did included all the appliances, lighting, plumbing, counter tops and back splash. All the materials were selected by us and Oren went with us hand by hand and guided us with all the information that we needed to know before making a decision. In few words, I must say that we are very happy that we hired this company and we are definitely recommend them!

We contracted SOD to remodel/renovate the kitchen in our 1920s house. The job was done in two phases: Phase I was demolition and create vanilla shell space, including electric and plumbing; Phase II was the installation of cabinets, countertop, appliances, lights, and floor. Phase I went brilliantly. We were quite impressed with the speed and quality of the work. The team worked well together, and communicated well. Whenever there was a question, we were consulted, and we worked out the issue. They were done within the specified deadline. Then it all went to **** for Phase II. We had picked out the countertop during Phase I, and were told it would not be a problem to procure. However, about two weeks into Phase II, we were told that they wouldn’t get the slab we wanted because they had misestimated the amount they needed (apparently, two different problems, the arithmetic and the logistics of the material we had selected) and would require an additional slab of material for only a small required additional piece, and offered alternatives. None were to our liking. Eventually they found a replacement, but that delayed the job by two weeks, and in the process, they lost their crew. While in Phase I, we’d have three guys on site the entire day, in Phase II, three guys would show up and two would immediately leave, leaving the most junior worker. As a result, they overshot their completion date by more than a month. Among the many shoddy details left by this third-string crew: Outlets – some electrical boxes were left tilted both sideways and outwards. Significant gaps were left between the edges of some plates and the tile behind them. Uneven walls – rather than drywall the entire room, they simply patched areas between remaining plaster. This resulted in dips in the walls which were not immediately noticeable, but later greatly emphasized when the tile was applied. Window molding – uneven around most of the windows due to the uneven wall problem. Both the tile and the trim buckle out in several areas. Backsplash grout – the grout was unevenly applied, and missing in some areas. Some of the glass tile were left broken at installation. Decorative elements – we chose fluted molding with square decorative elements in the corners around the doors. We personally installed these elements and molding on the outside portion of the door frames and asked them to match them. They did not. The squares were offset to the outside rather than lining up with the molding. Unfinished plumbing – after final inspection, we noted that the water and icemaker in the fridge were not working. We were told that it was our fridge which didn’t work. When we inspected more closely several days later, we discovered that the pipe to the fridge had never been connected to supply, below the house. After three weeks of trying to get them to come back to fix this, we finally gave up and hired another plumber. I really dislike leaving negative reviews, but these guys – who started out with a bang and were very impressive – simply fell down on the job in a most spectacular way. I would not recommend them.

Overall the job looks great and we are very happy with both bathrooms. It took 8 weeks from start to finish, which was longer than the original estimate. We had a couple of issues that were resolved mostly thanks to Carmit the designer. Francisco (tiler) was excellent. Mario - (main re-modeler) was also excellent. Carmit (the designer) helped us enormously, and was a major factor in designing, communication with the company and helping with any problems and decisions we had on the way. We couldn't have done it without her. Karla who ran the office was immensely helpful on a day to day basis with the scheduling. Our main issue involved communication. 1. The app that we were told would keep us updated with the schedule did not materialize and knowing who was coming when was never clear, until I began to communicate daily by email with Karla who responded promptly to my questions. 2. The project manager was difficult to contact and taken off the project half way through and seemingly never replaced, and an inspector turned up with no-one around who could speak English. 3. Due to lack of communication our medicine cabinet had to be re-installed and faucets switched twice, but Mario took care of it and ultimately it turned out fine and he did a great job. On the positive side, the job was done for the quoted price and everyone was very clean, neat and respectful. In general the workers worked long days, and were very professional, and we're thrilled with the finished product. We highly recommend them.

This was my first remodel, and it was a large project for a small space. SOD was very professional from the beginning. I never felt nickel and dimed which is typical for construction companies in this market. The workers, project managers and management were very responsive and focused on making sure I was happy with the work. The quality of the remodel was excellent. I've gotten so many compliments from guests who have seen my gorgeous, new bathrooms.

They actually poured the cement up to where the wall begins. I noticed the foundation and then the wall begins there's like a little gap, they split the beam I guess it helps screen or something like that and they actually poured the cement right up and almost into that so that's probably not code stuff

After interviewing 4 contractors to do our home remodeling we decide to go with S O D Builders. Oren and Michelle came to our house and we had great experience from the first minute. After signing the contract they started working on the design immediately and construction stated a month after. The project completed on time I liked that all the SOD crew arrived on time and never left a mess at the end of the day.? My wife and I are very happy with the end results and we are happy to recommend Oren and the SOD team to any remodeling job. We are planing to remodel our weekend home in Malibu soon and definitely going to use SOD Builders again.

Painters were prompt, and paid attention to detail.

They came out to give me an estimate and he was very pushy and made me very uncomfortable. He didn't even get on my roof. He only climbed a ladder to get high enough to LOOK at the roof. I had 3 other companies come out to give me estimates - they all walked on the roof and each of them had the same results as each other and none of them gave me an estimate higher than $9,700. SOD's estimate was $13,000!!!! They used scare tactics (telling me that I had mold in the ceiling of my house and it was dangerous - by the way, they can clean it for an extra fee, of course). I just felt like he was trying to sell me more than what I really needed.

We are extremely pleased with SOD's remodeling services.? We started with the downstairs and were so happy with the results that we then contracted with them for the upstairs. Oren, the owner, is a man of high integrity and stands behind his work 100%. We are perfectionists (wife is a designer) and even if there was a minor issue, Oren would have his team fix the problem at his own expense.?Remodeling is never easy and a stressful process.?However, if?you use SOD, you will have peace of mind that you are dealing with an honest company that really cares about the project and completing it to your satisfaction.?Our remodel is very high end.?In the master bathroom, they installed a steam room with lights, music, etc.? The kitchen is beautiful and has an amazing large island made of quartzite.?SOD's fabrication was perfect and there is not one seam (we used a very large slab).? Our backsplash in the kitchen is onyx and our countertops in the master bath are onyx with an entire wall of limestone.?Jaime is the person who did all of the stone work and he is a true artist and very detailed oriented.?We got rid of all of our carpet and now have beautiful travertine downstairs and hard wood throughout the upstairs. We now just appreciate our remodel every day like a fine work of art. I have done remodels in the past and nothing compares to the service that we received from SOD! I can't recommend them enough.?We intend to use them build a balcony for us as the next project.

Oren, Michal and their employees met and exceeded our expectations from the start. We interviewed many different contractors for our new build and our remodel project, and it was clear from the first meeting with Oren that his confident, patient and professional manner would be a good match for us. Oren met with us several times before we actually met with Michal the designer. We met again and he came and to explain all the options and answer our multitude of questions. He committed the details to writing, and was happy to work with us to clarify all of the terms and conditions, accepting our changes to the description of certain elements of the work to be performed. We didn't want to have any major surprises, as can happen with a project of this nature, and we were particularly concerned that there was unseen damage to the subfloor which would need to be repaired. Oren suggested that we agree in advance on a fixed price to repair the subfloor, if indeed repairs were needed. This went a long way toward alleviating one of our concerns, and as it turned out, the repairs were necessary. Oren was very timely in responding to us in the weeks prior to executing the contract, and again in the weeks prior to the beginning of the work. He gave us choices as to when the work could start, and was able to work the project dates around our busy schedule. He estimated that the work would take up to six months, and the project was completed in just over five weeks. In preparation for the project, Michal met with us at several local showrooms where we selected fixtures, appliances, countertop, tile and etc. She took the time that we needed to explain the advantages and disadvantages of the various options, and arranged favorable pricing for us with his contacts at each location. During the work, we saw Allen and Ben daily and Oren frequently, and they communicated with us by their online system, phone and text as well as in person so that we would know what to expect each day. Their employees took a considerable amount of time on day one to put protective coverings on our wood floors and to place plastic sheeting around the work area to control the dust. This was indicative of their routine during the entire project, as all the employees who worked at our home were quiet, respectful, clean and timely. They started work at 8:00 a.m., and ended around 5:00 p.m. each day. The workers did take a break for lunch, usually sitting outside and eating. There was no down time, even when waiting for a city inspector, as they phased the work in such a way that there was always something productive to be done. Ben dealt effectively with all of the large and small issues which arose, including the repair of the subfloor, and made sure that everything was perfect from the Foundation to the lighting and electrical, and from the tile and grout to the cabinets. . When we had questions about details as we saw the progress each day, Ben took time to answer them or to show us how it would be addressed, and even though we thought we had covered all possible items in advance, there were lots of little questions that we would never have anticipated. When a miscommunication did occur, and the prep work on the new shower stall was not exactly according to the agreed upon documentation, Ben took care of it as soon as we brought it to his attention, and made sure no time was lost on the project. Michal has a great sense of design when it comes to color and materials, and she listened to us as we expressed our likes and dislikes. We all agreed upon the fixtures, tile, countertop, cabinets and shower glass, and Michal's recommendations were on target for our needs. As we approached the completion of the work, he helped us pull all the elements together by recommending a paint color that we probably wouldn't have selected, and then showing us several alternatives. We went with Michal's recommendation, and again, it was just right. The results of the remodeling project are excellent, and after about a month we are truly enjoying our new Home. My mom going to move to the USA from china soon, and its all ready for her. We could not be happier with our selection of Oren and SOD Builders, and have already recommended them to friends and co workers.

This was a marvelous experience, from start to finish. The estimate and contract had no nonsense or restrictions, and generous allowances for choice of materials and fixtures. Once work began, the entire job was completed in two weeks -- from demolition to first shower. The attention to detail showed care and pride in the work and the results. The crews took great care of our house and left everything clean and tidy. I was also really delighted to see the company make good use of 21st century tools and online services. All work was logged and recorded at buildertrend.com. Contracts were delivered and signed online with Docusign. I was able to communicate with the staff using photos, email, and TXT messages seamlessly. I hope to work with SOD on a few other repairs and upgrades we need done in the next few years.

We found them on Angie's List and the estimator turned out to be our project leader, Adam T. He and his team were wonderful to work with, especially since we had to live in a hotel while the work was going on. The entire first floor needed patching of open walls - we had the entire first floor re-piped to prevent a recurrence of the water line break that caused this. So there were holes in the walls everywhere - maybe 20 of them from floor to ceiling that the plumbing guys had left. SOD covered everything, worked efficiently, let us select new colors for the paint job, and made my wife and me happy to see them arrive. They also repaired cabinet woodwork damaged by water, and made it match the undamaged cabinetry. The result is a first floor that looks better than when they started. And if something wasn't quite right - that always happens - they promptly came back to fix it. Would I hire again? I actually tried to hire them again when an air conditioning installation went south, but Adam advised the job was too small for them to handle efficiently and gave me good advice on getting it done at reasonable cost. Quality and integrity in a contractor - a breath of fresh air for us.

Oren and his team are fantastic. We hired SOD builders to help remodel our new house. We renovated the kitchen, three bathrooms and lots of flooring in the house. We chose to contract with SOD because we felt comfortable and confident that they would provide a quick, quality job and they certainly delivered.

Easy to set up appointment, showed up on time, spent an appropriate amount of time on the estimate and explaining what services that they would provide to complete the project. In the end did not use their services as the estimate was almost double of the next closest of the 3 bids that we received.

The technician showed up at my house at the correct time and measured the patio. It's about 21" high and I wanted two 7" steps down running along the longer side. I said I was fine with concrete blocks or poured cement and he assured me cement was the cheaper, easier way to go. He told me I would have an estimate in 3-6 days, a little long for my taste but I soon understood why. This would be no ordinary estimate, this would be the KING of estimates. The estimates I had gotten so far had run 2-5K so when theirs came in at 13 THOUSAND I knew it would be something really special. At first I thought, they must be including the body of Jimmy Hoffa [the tourism alone would pay for the enormous price and I would make it back in weeks.] That was not the case... I looked for gold, myrrh, or a 1933 collectible Lou Gehrig baseball card in the description accounting for the 13K... no such luck. Perhaps they planned on building a life-sized Air Force One so as I descended these two steps I felt like POTUS himself. Whatever the reason, I would never find out. I gave my business to someone else. But should I ever be a defense contractor with an unlimited pocket I know who I will be contacting first.

I met with Adam for a complete kitchen remodel estimate. He arrived on time and was very nice. I really appreciated that they provided a detailed written estimate which many companies did not do. Unfortunately the estimate was much more than I would like to spend on a rental remodel but I would use them in the future.

I've been delaying my plans to build a new home in my sloping lot for quite sometime now and SOD Builders have been very patient and understanding of my fears being new to this. Their office manager, Lesmi, together with Oren and Adam have been very informative. I have been very impressed with their knowledge on the steps needed in order to ensure a great home within a fixed budget. I initially was just thinking of getting them for the design but their professionalism and flexibility towards my needs are now convincing me to stay with them until construction. I am hopeful that all the things we have discussed so far will become a reality. Still in the discussion stage but am quite convinced on already hiring them.
