 + -1 moreIt took 4 visits and many hours of labor, but Mike troubleshot the problem and solved it. Mike is an old-school contractor, which means that he is knowledgeable and takes pride in his work. When there are so many contractors who don't know what they're doing (in the past, I've had plumbers snake and then give up and leave), it's reassuring to deal with someone who does.
Description of Work: We had 2 blocked drains on two different levels of the house. Mike came out and snaked both of the drains. The problem persisted, and he came out a couple of more times to clear the drains further. When it started affecting the toilet and sink as well, he realized that it was a clogged air vent and cleared it. We have had no drainage problem since.

 + -1 moreMike arrived early, snaked two lines, eliminated our drainage problem and suggested that we not put anything down the disposal (advice we were already heeding, because we compost pretty much everything). He did a fine job and also made us laugh with a couple of jokes. While my husband was a bit surprised by the price, Mike got the job done very well and quickly.
Description of Work: We were backed up - the sinks were not draining properly and the garbage disposal was not helping the problem.

Description of Work: We had a main line drain that was clogged up and backing sewage into our laundry room. After some plunger work (by us) it went down (but reluctantly).  + -1 moreI have used Mike three times now and am very pleased with him. He called ahead of time and once he was going to be behind and he called to let me know. Another company told me I needed to replace the pipe and it was a serious problem and when he came he talked to me about it, it was not serious at all. He made sure I understood and was very thorough in explaining the difference between if it was serious or not. He was very polite and helpful and I will continue to use him.
Description of Work: Mike cleaned out a waste pipe in our main sewer line.

Description of Work: Toilet wasn't draining and one of the sinks was draining slowly. Mike snaked the toilet, put in a new trap, and also unplugged one of the bathroom sinks.

 + -1 moreTheir response time was very fast. I called and within the hour I got a call back. They came the next day as agreed upon and snaked the pipes. All my drains flow really fast now. The worker that came out wasted no time and knew exactly what he was doing. He seemed very organized and did an excellent job of cleaning up.
Description of Work: The kitchen sink was backing up and draining really slow. The plumber snaked all the drain pipes from the house to the main pipe in the street.

 + -1 moreMichael answered my call himself, said he would be at my home in about an hour and a half and actually arrived early. He spent time doing troubleshooting, always explained what he was doing and what he was looking for, replaced some parts and fixed the problem. He had to go up and downstairs to his truck several times. He was careful, very pleasant and kept the bathroom clean. I think the price was reasonable since the toilet works fine now. I will call him again when and if if I have another plumbing problem.
Description of Work: A toilet which did not flush properly was fixed. It was very slow, with very little pressure and often seemed stopped up, though I know that nothing improper ever was flushed down.

 + -1 moreOn short notice on a Saturday, Mike said he would be at my home in an hour and a half. He arrived on the dot. It was obvious he knew his craft. He checked the outside as well as the inside before getting what appeared to me a state of the art electric drain snake, it was clean, well maintained, and quiet. Although the whole process did not take longer than 1/2 hour, it appeared to me that he took extra time to make sure that the entire piping was cleaner: He listened very carefully as water drained to detect sluggishness. Very telling, was that I asked about "electronic leak detection." He assured me I did not need to spend the money, unlike the majors (Diamond/Roto-Rooter, etc., that always try to dig deeper into your wallet). He also advised on an inexpensive way to cut build up in pipes with bleach.
Description of Work: Sink and laundry drain was clogged.

 + -1 moreI called Mike in the morning and he agreed to meet me that afternoon to fix my clogged drain. He arrived right on time (actually a few minutes early) and proceeded to diagnose the problem based on a visual inspection and my description of the history of the problem. He used a power plumbers snake and was able to clear the clog. The entire procedure took about 45 minutes from the time he arrived to the time he left. He also gave me a lot of information about the problem and how to help avoid a recurrence.
Description of Work: Mike Avi cleaned out the kitchen drain which was clogged.

Description of Work: The main drain was clogged and overflowing. Michael fixed this problem easily, and included a few tips on avoiding future plumbing problems.

 + -1 moreHe came in and inspected all the various outlets. He used a snake to clean out the drain. He also pointed out that there were roots in the pipe, possibly creating the back up. He pointed out one root. I did think the price of $125 was about $25 high. I had checked his other ratings and most seemed to be from $60 to $100. So, I thought $100 would have been very fair. But, he did come in a short notice and was considerably lower than the last vendor we called. Which we would never call again. They were called Mr. Rooter.
Description of Work: Our back bathroom was clogged and backing up. We have a clean out in the front of the house and the person used a clean out tool to open the line.

 + -1 moreIt went fine, and as noted above. Despite the extra work that he undertook trying to fix the major problem that we encountered. He billed exactly what he had quoted. Left the house clean, no mess! Would hire him again for sure.
Description of Work: We called M & M to service four drains. Two in showers that were slow not stopped. Two outside that had a history of getting clogged. We called and spoke with Mike on a Thursday afternoon, and made an appointment for 9 a.m. Friday morning. Mike called Friday morning to confirm, and to say that he might be as much as a half hour late. He showed up well within that time frame. Neat & clean. A pleasant change from most drain cleaning companies. After looking at the four drains, he quoted me a price, we agreed and then he went about his business. The inside drains were cleaned within 15-20 minutes. The outside drains proved much tougher than he expected. Indeed, on one, he uncovered a major problem, but told me how to fix it. Didn't even seek the business for that! Although he told me he executed to spend one hour on the 4 drains. He spent 2 1/2 because of the tough one, and didn't charge one dime more!

Mike called back immediately and told us how to drain the system but because we weren't sure he came out right away and rooted the whole system. He told us about a defect in our drainage to look out for and dissuaded us from replacing the whole system yet. Great experience!

Mike needed to do a little searching to find the clean-out drain, but he found it fairly quickly. Within about 15-20 minutes, the job was done and the drains were unclogged. It was a pleasure to deal with someone who returns calls, shows up on time, and does a professional job.

What started out as a simple snake issue turned out to be more difficult of a process due to how our pipes were arranged under our shower. Plumber gave us lots of information as to why there was a problem and how our plumbing was contributing to the issue. Plumber was able to clear the drain after spending probably more time than he expected. Price was very fair given all the time spent. Very happy with service and information provided to us.

 + -1 moreMIKE CALLED AND THEN SHOWED UP AT THE TIME HE SAID HE WOULD, DID THE WORK QUICKLY AND CLEANLY. $150 SEEMED REASONABLE; WE USUALLY PAY $100 FOR SNAKING THE DRAIN, BUT HE DID SHOW UP ON A SUNDAY NIGHT WITH VERY SHORT NOTICE, SO THE EXTRA $50 SEEMS FAIR.
