IMPECCABLE PROJECT MANAGEMENT, INTEGRITY, AND A GREAT TEAM TO WORK WITH HOW WE FOUND FINESSE -Avi came highly recommended to me by my neighbor, who has had great experiences with him on different projects at her house. Our kitchen and laundry were outdated, functionally impaired, and pinched; and I was overwhelmed at the scope of the project. It took me three years of thinking about it?and finally meeting Avi to move ahead with the remodel. I am grateful we did. FIRST IMPRESSIONS - From the first meeting, I felt confident that Avi was the right person to rework the space and walk us through all the decisions. He suggested how we could increase the functionality and flow of the space without knocking out any walls. One of the aspects of remodeling that I find overwhelming is project-creep ? that when I start thinking of doing one thing, it leads to another and another. Avi was fantastic at keeping the scope of the project in focus and within our budget. And now that our project is complete, I can say he did that through the entire job- and the end result is amazing. I couldn?t be happier with how it all turned out. TIMING OF CONSTRUCTION - I was flexible on the start date, but needed to have the project done before the school year started. Avi set our tentative start and finish dates at that meeting ? estimating five weeks and three days for the project from start of demolition to finish. Sensitive to the difficulty of living without a kitchen and laundry (with four kids!), he said we wouldn?t start until I had picked out everything, so that we wouldn?t have any delivery delays once construction started. PRE-CONSTRUCTION DECISIONS - Avi set me right on the task of picking out my cabinets, floors, and counter tops. This was the second area that Avi made our project a success. I know what I like, and what I don?t like, but trying to put all the pieces together is overwhelming to me (I can?t picture what it will look like until I actually ?see it.?). I also wanted reassurance along the way that what I picked out would also be good for resale. Avi first took me to a cabinet shop and walked me through the choices. I was able to quickly tell him what I liked and didn?t like, and it narrowed my decisions down pretty painlessly. He was exceedingly patient with my questions, and with giving me his input so I felt confident in my own choices. Next he gave me a contact to meet with for the floor, counter top, and backsplash. Every person Avi sent me to had the same response, ?We love Avi!? I felt like a VIP the way they interacted with me, and they made the decision-making process so much easier than I had anticipated. DEMOLITION AND CONSTRUCTION ? Our actual start date was the day after the tentative date we originally picked. Demolition took four hours, and that included sealing off the construction area from the rest of the house, as well as hauling away the debris and sweeping clean the construction area. That they managed to keep the dust from coming through to the rest of the house was an incredibly pleasant surprise. Also, the construction area was cleaned-up at the end of every day. Each team that came was prompt, friendly, efficient, and professional. We started on a Tuesday and by the following Monday we had passed rough plumbing and electrical and were slightly ahead of schedule. Everything was methodically, yet flexibly scheduled - and it was exciting to watch the layers take shape - beginning with a beautiful woodlike, porcelain floor. HANDLING THE UNFORESEEN ? Avi mentioned before we started that demolition (especially in an older house) sometimes reveals unforeseen issues like asbestos, construction oddities etc. In our case, it was an old pocket door hidden in a doorway casing that we were closing off. There was just a slight modification to framing the area, but I appreciated that he took into consideration our built-ins on the other side of the wall, and came up with a solution that avoided expanding the construction zone. We also had a small delay with the city ? an administrative issue with the permits. As frustrating as it was to experience the delay, it was reassuring that Avi and his team were proactive so that the delay didn?t have an opportunity to lag on. The last unforeseen issue was when the countertop fabricator had two saw blades break just as our countertop was to be fabricated. If our project had not been so impeccably managed, those small delays easily could have added up to an additional week or more. But not with Avi. A couple times he rearranged when work was being done so that we didn?t lose time. Also, over the course of the project they worked parts of three different Saturdays and kept our project right on track. I only mention the hiccups, because they are bound to come up with construction, and how they are handled makes all the difference in the process. Avi and his team work methodically, but have a flexibility about them that helps overcome the unforeseen with the least possible interruption. FINISHING ON TIME & THE TEAM? Even with the unforeseen, I began unpacking my kitchen boxes on the VERY DAY Avi had tentatively set as our finish date, and we passed final two days later. That could not have happened without the incredible team at Finesse. Throughout the process either Avi or Sam stopped by or spoke with me by phone daily. I knew what to expect each week and I had great access to Avi, Sam, and Joyce throughout the whole process. It was obvious that they communicate well with each other, because they were seamless in how the project kept on track, and in keeping me in the loop of what to expect, and what if anything they needed from me. Every single person on the team is a pleasure to work with, and the whole time I felt like my project was their top priority. Even when I second-guessed myself in the process, their response was such that I knew they wanted me to be happy with the end product, and that was very reassuring. FINAL OUTCOME? We ended up with a kitchen and laundry that look like they came straight out of a design magazine, and I am not gifted in that area at all. I have Avi and Finesse to thank for putting me in contact with the right people, to help me make the best choices. Now that I?ve had the pleasure of actually working in the space for a couple of weeks, I can say the space isn?t just beautiful, it is also functionally fantastic. My biggest concerns at the outset were would we finish on time, stay within budget, and would I be happy with the end result. The answer is a resounding, ?YES!? I would recommend Avi and the Finesse team without reservation. They far exceeded my hopes and expectations for our kitchen/laundry remodel.

We interviewed 5 contractors before we made our decision. Most of them were on the Angie?s List with tons of ?A?s. But we chose Finesse Remodeling out of them because Avi, the owner of Finesse, gave us the most reasonable quote and showed us sincere care for us and for our house. Remodeling your house means that you are going to spend more than a couple of weeks of your life with your contractor and his/her workers. So obviously you want to chose someone who is honest, reliable, sincere, conscientious, nice, kind, clean, punctual, professional, proud of his/her work, treats his/her employee well, got respect from them, respects them, respects you, listens to you thoroughly, explains you well, guides you, comes up with a good solution when there is a problem, notices a tiny flaw or unevenness before you realize, and likes a good laugh. I found Avi was that kind of contractor. Our kitchen and bathroom had serious mold damages so we needed to do the remodel asap. Our timeline was REALLY tight because of our hectic schedule. We had less than 8 weeks and we had to do everything with in this time period. It includes the planning, designing, and shopping, of course. On top of that we had to do the abatement not only for mold but also lead and asbestos. We even found the termite damage after the abatement! However, Avi and his crew handled everything and delivered it before the deadline, within our budget, and without compromising anything. The demolition was surprisingly clean. Somehow they contained all the dust and debris within the very site they demolished so the rest of the house was not dusty at all. Actually, I felt it became cleaner than before the demolition. They cleaned them all up afterwards and you knew all the health hazards were gone. The pluming looked so beautiful that I couldn?t stop feeling sorry that no one could see it after the drywalls were installed. I felt the same for the paint job. When we moved into this house 3 years ago, we knew the interior walls had been newly painted but we found the job was not our satisfactory. (It was uneven. Splash everywhere. Probably only one coat.) But the Avi?s paint crew was real professional. Even though they knew the most of the walls would be covered by the cabinets (our kitchen is tiny), they prepped, primed, and applied 2 good coats beautifully as if it would be the focal point of the kitchen. I guess the words ?cut corners? are not in their dictionary. The electric crew was efficient, well organized, and quick. They were quiet and gentle. The tile guys were also good. I asked them to do a complex pattern using inexpensive tile so that it looked expensive. It required great precision work and the tile guy delivered it. I love the result. Their work added the value so it looks expensive and beautiful. The flooring guys took an extra time and care for us and they finished it perfectly. The concrete guys also did an excellent job. They fixed all the issues we had before so we don?t have to worry about water damage anymore. Since we didn?t have enough time to plan ahead, we had to make various and sundry decisions immediately on the spot. To be honest, we were overwhelmed and recoiled by that. But Avi and Sam, his right-hand man and site manager who always brought good energy to our home, guided us like a good pilot. We also had Joyce, the kindest and very friendly office manager! She was always on top of the schedule. She was very prompt about scheduling everything so we didn?t waist our precious time. And Joseph, Avi?s business partner! He made sure the project would keep going on schedule. So basically we had 4 layers of security nets. Without them, we?d lost and couldn?t have done this remodel in time. One neighbor visited us after the remodel and she was so surprised to realize how big the project was because it finished in such a short period. Actually, lots of our neighbors liked the way Finesse do the job. So I had to ask Avi to bring his business cards because many wanted to know which contractor we chose. I heard lots of scary stories about remodeling but I found mine was enjoyable. We thank Avi, Joseph, Sam, Joyce, and the rest of the crew for that. If you are looking for a conscientious contractor who really cares about you and your home, you should definitely give Finesse a call.

We are super pleased with the remodel of our house! Everything looks amazing and the work was done with the most care. We hired Avi to remodel our kitchen, den, master bath, and guest bath. It was a pretty big project and Avi delivered! We were on a very condensed timeline (since I was about 7 month pregnant when we started). Avi handled everything for us including planning, design, permits, and construction/build. He prepared a thorough timeline and budget for review and executed accordingly. Avi did a great job of staying on top of the workers and finishing the project according to our timeline. He is not the cheapest, but his prices are very fair for the work that is performed. I would certainly recommend him to anyone doing a remodel. Everyone that comes to our house absolutely loves it! The flow is much better, more open and vibrant, and best of all everything is new!

The team at Finesse Remodeling is phenomenal. We have worked with a number of contractors over the years and Finesse is one of the best. Avi, Joseph, Joyce (Project Coordinator, she is awesome!) and the rest of the crew is great. Whenever a problem came up, they would take care of it, no questions asked and no unfair additional charges. They took responsibility for their project which resulted in a fantastic finish. I met with three other contractors (also from Angie's List, and all with an 'A' rating) before deciding on Finesse Remodeling. Finesse Remodeling recently did a fairly extensive remodel for us and it turned out great. It?s a small thirty-two year old condo of about 700 square feet in Playa Del Rey. We?ve always found these smaller jobs to be more complicated due to having less space to work with. The job included new flooring (tile and wood) and paint throughout, new kitchen and bath countertops, new sinks and plumbing fixtures, bathroom tile, new lighting, new electrical outlets and switches and a remodeled fireplace. Everyone who has seen the unit has remarked on how great it turned out. This is actually the second remodel Finesse has completed for us. The first one turned out so well, that we asked Avi to help us with this project. Our building has a pretty strict HOA with lots of rules regarding construction. I was really worried about potential complaints from the neighbors. I needn?t have worried though. The Finesse crews keep a very clean worksite and they were great with the neighbors. They covered all of the common area hallway carpets and were always very careful. Not one complaint! Avi and his folks were working on a tight timeframe and they really worked hard to deliver. Our only delays were due to issues with a cranky inspector. Avi is always very philosophical about these problems and takes them in stride. One really ugly problem we had to contend with was an exposed water line to the refrigerator that was attached to the wall in the kitchen. The Finesse crew was able to reroute the line and now things look great. Avi is thorough and good to work with. I?ve found him to be completely honest and diligent about follow through. Joyce the office manager is on top of the schedule and was very good about getting answers to my questions. For anyone looking for a conscientious contractor who sweats the details, you should definitely give Finesse a call.

After meeting with several different contractors, I found Finesse Remodeling on AngiesList. Avi came by to look over the 1960's kitchen and provided an estimate within the time line he indicated, unlike a couple of the other contractors I met with. My decision to go with Finesse was made after meeting with one of his previous clients that used him on three different occasions. My kitchen was dark, outdated and had a lot of wasted space. Avi provided design ideas and included his architect to let me know what was possible. I ran into lead abatement issues before the project began. Avi was able to find the resources I needed to get the lead removed. This was my first renovation and I have a very busy work schedule that includes travel. Avi and Joyce stayed in touch and kept the project moving by meeting after hours and on the weekends when needed. Joyce went above an beyond by taking care of things I didn't have time to do. I was notified quickly of unexpected issues, with recommendations on how to solve the problems. The different trades were friendly, flexible in making adjustments and arrived on time everyday. The kitchen and bathroom have been transformed and are now functional and up to date. It was a positive experience and I have recommended Finesse Remodeling to others.

I am pleased with my overall experience with Avi and his crew. They were thorough and detail-oriented. We got the recommendation to go to Avi through a family friend who had used him for a small renovation in their house. We did a lot of shopping around before choosing Avi. He was extremely friendly and helpful in the when we were searching for quotes, and had given us an estimated quote that was in the middle of some of the other quotes we had received. His quote, previous work samples, and personality sold us on using him for our major renovation. We bought a 5 bedroom 5.5 bathroom house that had been neglected and kept in poor condition. We wanted to turn this poorly-kept Spanish-style home into a beautiful and comfortable space with a modern flare. Based on previous work, Avi had a lot of experience with delivering what we were looking for. Because he has been in the business for so long, Avi has established some great contacts! We were very happy with Maria from Pacific Sales when purchasing our kitchen appliances and Dave from Pacific Sales when purchasing our hardware for the bathrooms. We also had a great experience with Pacific Stone for our tile choices and with Avi's contact for our marble and granite needs. While we were happy with the quality of marble and granite, we did run into a few problems with the quality of the installation. However, any issues we have had have been rectified when brought up. We used Henry from AtoZ Cabinets for our cabinetry in the kitchen, master bathroom, powder bathroom and parents bathroom. Henry did a great job creating our painted cabinets! Avi also has an amazing crew working for him! Joyce, his office manager, is prompt, respectful, and thorough! Sam, his site manager is a great liaison between the homeowners and Avi and was very helpful when problems would arise. Luis, his go-to contractor has been working with Avi for a long time! He REALLY delivers when it comes to quality installation and construction. He believes in doing a good job the first time around, and has great advice to give! Avi was able to achieve the look we were hoping for: a modern, clean, and beautiful renovation to a very dated home! Thank Avi and Finesse Remodeling for making our dream home!

Avi and his team were awesome! This was our first renovation ever so we were anxious about embarking on this endeavor from the beginning. Avi was very communicative throughout the process and did a great job of keeping us apprised of the status, did a lot of hand-holding and offered good advice along the way. It was amazing how he and Joyce were so diligent in keeping all of the projects going. Joyce was super friendly and a pleasure to work with, making sure we were aware of our schedule and other important events. Avi's various trade teams were really great and very hard-working to give us the best possible room addition, patio cover and cleaned-up garage! We couldn't be more pleased with the final product. Everyone that came into our home was extremely professional and an excellent job of providing the services they offered. The owner, Avi, was great to work with. After meeting to discuss what we wanted and reviewing options, Avi put together a proposal that met our budget and time frame. During the project Avi took care to let us know what to expect and when. All the work was done in a professional manner and within the agreed upon timeline. If something was not done to our complete satisfaction, for whatever reason, Avi made sure it got taken care off and that we were 100% satisfied. In the end we wound up with a beautiful new kitchen. I would not hesitate to use Finesse Remodeling again or recommend them to a friend.

We hired Avi & Finesse Remodeling to update our master bathroom. Avi was awesome to work with - extremely responsive, helpful, creative, and we would definitely work with him again. The overall project took a bit longer than was projected, but I think that is normal / to be expected when it comes to construction. All of the guys who worked on the bathroom - specifically the lighting / electrician and the tile guy were great- stand outs during the entire process. We had multiple changes and requests along the way, including changing the color of the paint in the bathroom once it had already been painted [the color wasn't quite dark enough, our fault!] and Avi was very accommodating and had the bathroom re-painted. We also took advantage of having the electrician at our house, and upgraded all the recessed lighting upstairs and downstairs [additional expense of course] to LED lights - we were very happy that they offered to do this & that it was so easy to do. Overall, we are looking forward to our next project with Avi - and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to remodel their bathroom.

First off, a little primer on Contractors in general is in order. Your Contractor, in almost all cases, will not be swinging the hammer or even lifting one. He is the project Coordinator. He lines up and schedules the subs and, hopefully, stays on top of them to ensure that the project gets completed sometime within the window of time and money promised. That said, you will go over time, you will go over budget and you will end up working as a sub Foreman for your Contractor as he will call or text you to see if a certain sub actually bothered to show up on the day promised. All that being true, Avi and Finesse Remodeling did a fantastic job and delivered a beautiful kitchen once all the dust settled. There will be times when you hate the process intently and will ask yourself why in God's name did you even consider doing this and you will project this onto your Contractor. That is part of the reason you are paying him. What is undeniable about FInesse is the quality of their subs. The work was impeccable, be it painting, tile work or plumbing. Another important point to be aware of with a remodel: you will have to figure out what you want before starting the project down to the nitty gritty details. The clearer the idea and vision you have, the better the end result. There are things you have to take care of and order for yourself. The cabinet hardware for instance. If you find some great hardware online, order it before you begin the job and make sure it arrives before you begin the job. Same thing with tile or anything else that is "special" as you do not want to do anything to slow down the process. Subs not being able to show up because material you ordered failed to arrive is something you want to avoid at all costs because you should never be the bottleneck on your own remodel and you lose the ability to blame the Contractor for a slowdown if they can't install because you failed to anticipate a lead time. Finesse Remodeling delivered a beautiful kitchen with the least amount of grief possible. We will use them as soon as we have refilled the coffers to the level that we can afford the bathroom.

Great! Avi and his crew are always punctual, or they call if they are running late. They clean up after themselves. They make sure you are 100% satisfied before they ask for the final payment.

We recently hired Avi and his team to renovate our condo. We had interviewed a few contractors and chose Avi because of his transparency from the beginning. Out of all the contractors we interviewed, he was the only one that gave us a straight answer about the potential challenges around some of the work we wanted done. All the others were eager to please and told us what we wanted to hear, not the truth (which was that some of the work we wanted done was not possible). Working with Avi was easy and comfortable. We never felt like he was trying to take advantage of us. After hearing horror stories about people hating their contractors, it felt great to have found someone who was kind and truly cared about the quality of his work. Avi was always available to us personally, and came to check on the property regularly. Working with him, I felt valued as a customer. The job did take longer than we expected, but that's the norm for renovation projects. And of course, no remodeling goes 100% as planned- small errors and miscommunications happen- but Avi went out of his way to make sure everything was completed to our satisfaction. Avi is not the cheapest guy in town, but you're paying for his care, attention, and quality of work. I would happily work with him again and would recommend him wholeheartedly.

The entire project from start to finish was 3 weeks. There were no delays in the workers showing up and they were very courteous. Quality of work was excellent. The relationship between us and Avi was excellent. I couldn't be happier. All details or problems were delt with immediately. I would use Avi again in a hearbeat.

Avi was great to work with. He was responsive, professional, and flexible. He has a fantastic attitude and is good at problem solving. Whatever little issue would pop up he was ready with a solution and a smile. We would highly recommend this company to anyone.

We had an old master bathroom that was in desperate need of a remodel. We decided to go with Finesse based on the work they had done previously for a family member. The initial consultation went very well. The consultation was a design exercise too, so it was very helpful in that we didn't have to spend additional dollars on an interior designer. Finesse provided good thoughts and ideas in designing our bathroom. During the construction phase, Finesse would show up regularly to ensure the sub-contractors were doing the right work and on-time. This was appreciated as we could ask questions and if needed, make minor adjustments. Like any home remodel, it is a disruption to home utlization, but Finesse coordinated the job to limit this as much as possible. The sub-contractors coordinated the job so we always had a usable walkway and weren't "closed off" from our rooms or had to move out for a few days. Overall, Finesse's work was very professional with good guidance to make our new bathroom exactly what we envisioned.

First, I want to thank both Joseph and Avi. I have consulted with three other contractors through Angies and finally decided to hire Finesse Remodeling. Joseph first came and he knew what the job entailed. Next, I was provided attention by both Joseph and his partner Avi. I am happy that I finally decided to hire them for the job. I would note that I have used another contractor to draw the design and obtain the permits, however, he failed to properly include all the requisite work to be performed. Joseph, came in immediately and obtained all proper permits. The company staff are very professional. They appear on time and are very punctual. Joseph and Avi are very responsive, professional and very helpful. They give insight into the project, despite the fact that me and my husband are difficult clients. The job has been performed almost 90 percent. The air conditioning unit has been removed and installed in a different area. The electricity wiring was complete. The skylights were installed and the roof repaired. The insulation and the drywall is complete to my satisfaction. IN the midst, the water heater was out of order, however, Joseph responded immediately by sending a workman on Sunday. When the water remained warm and not hot across the house, he immediately notified his plumber to show up at 7.00am the next day. Both Joseph and Ave are great. They would locate information to help us complete the project and inform us. They even suggested a good company to purchase our skylights. They recommended a good cabinet maker. They will even go out of their way and try to help you locate the best appliances for the kitchen, which is outside their scope of their work. Something, I did not find in other contractors, and I have done many work around my house. The company provided me with a fair price. I am very happy with their services that we are currently planning on the second phase of the kitchen remodel. I recommend their services to everyone.

i was told to expect it to take 8 weeks and avi finished in 5 weeks because i had said that family was coming into town. all his workers were great. avi is a charmer and it was a pleasure to work with him.

I had put off redoing my kitchen for a long time because I had heard so much about hassles and unhappy customers. I interviewed several remodelers and from our very first conversation, I had pretty much decided on using Finesse. Avi Ben Dov was so easy to work with. He listened to my desires and actually heard me. My kitchen is not very large, so I wasn't going to change much. I even considered going with refacing. Avi made some suggestions as to how we could improve the efficiency of my kitchen. They were excellent ideas. As with any full remodeling project, we hit some bumps in the road along the way. No matter whether they were extremely important to me or just an annoyance, Avi's resolution was always quick and spot on. Avi's work crews were very professional and excellent. They cleaned up every day and did whatever they could to mitigate dust, etc. My beautiful new kitchen is wonderful.

It went very well. The owner, Avi is really great to work with. If there is a problem, he is quick to respond. He does all of his work honestly. Every time I use this company I am very pleased with their service. They are great at contacting you with updates and they always follow through with their word.

The crew cleaned up after themselves every day, always on time and did high quality work. Job was supervised very well. Avi was very responsive, and so was the office staff. We will use Avi again for another project.

The demolition was quick and clean, the installation of the flooring was very meticulous and it came out perfect in every way from being level to perfection and the cutting and design layout was wonderful. The stages of what comes next was a bit off target, but the completion of the house was magnificent. The job took a little longer then we had hoped for, however as mentioned the end result was beautiful, we are very happy. I guess speed in some cases is bad, when remodeling, if they take their time we have more opportunities to review and ensure all is going in the direction we wanted. The Contractor communicated well and ensured we knew what was happening for the next phases. We have received several compliments on both bathroom and kitchen and couldn't be happier with the results of how everything turned out.

When I decided to remodel my bathroom, I interviewed three contractors. All the meetings went well; however, the meeting with Avi Ben Dov of Finesse Remodeling stood out above all the rest. I must mention that the other two contractors never even called me back to follow-up on our meeting. Avi was very friendly and personable. He listened to all my concerns and explained how he values the time and money his customers put into their remodels, and how hard he strives to meet all their needs. Avi answered all my questions and put me at ease. He wasn't hesitant to suggest ideas that might look better, or to say that perhaps some of my ideas might not be quite right. I was grateful to get his perspective, and in the end he was right. I was surprised to see how dedicated his workers were, arriving on time and often putting in more than a 7-8 hour day. They always stayed until their work was done. They were all courteous and didn't mind my "hovering" over them and asking questions, or pointing things out. Other than the glitch of ending up with low water pressure, due to my home having a combination of copper and old galvanized pipes, my bathroom remodel turned out beautiful and I am very happy with it. I trusted Avi's approach from the beginning. He was always available to address my concerns. I would definitely recommend Avi and his crew.
