Superb service and quality! I had Finesse Remodeling renovate our townhouse from top to bottom which included kitchen, two bathrooms, paint and hardwood floors on two levels, including stairs. Their work was superb: clean, high quality, with tons of professional advise. Avi, the owner of the company, stayed on top of the project every day and had perfect solutions for the few hick ups we had along the way. He is honest, knowledgable and reliable. I would highly recommend this company to anyone thinking about remodeling their home.

After buying a small, major fixer-upper, I met with three contractors for the project, which I was trying to do on a relatively limited budget and tight timeline since I wanted to move in asap. Avi was the first I met with, and I felt immediately comfortable with him. He actually listened to what I wanted and what things were important to me. He had great suggestions, such as telling me the reason the main bath seemed odd to me was the toilet and vanity locations should be switched. Neither of the other contractors noticed it. I ended up going with Avi, which I assumed I would after I met with him to begin with, and am so glad I did. He knew time was important to me, and after signing the contract, work was scheduled to start the following week. Work progressed quickly and I was excited to see all that had been done every time I went over. So much work was done - kitchen and bath were down to the studs, paneling in living room replaced, full electrical upgrade, paint and patching, nail-on windows, floors, pantry, etc. And there was much more. As what usually happens with large remodels, especially with the old canyon houses, we ran into a few issues along the way, but Avi was great in dealing with them. He was always available for any questions, and Joyce at the office was great in helping schedule things, etc. Costs did add up to quite a lot more than I originally anticipated, but most of it came from issues that were found or choices I made - such as replacing all the windows instead of a few. The price did not include fixtures, appliances, tile, hardware, etc - however, I prefer that arrangement since it gives me the freedom to chose exactly what I want. All permits were pulled and finaled correctly. Just a general bit of advise - always make sure your contractor pulls permits! It will save you from many potential problems down the road. If they seem hesitant to pull permits or suggest you don't need to, I'd take that as a major red flag. It might seem like it's just easier (and cheaper) not to deal with them, but they are your 2nd set of eyes making sure all work is done correctly and safely. If a contractor knows they're not going to have to answer to a building and safety inspector, you'll never know what kind work was done behind your walls. I am very picky when it comes to quality and detail - (I'm sure Avi would agree :-). And in the end, the quality of the work was excellent! The neighbors and everyone who has seen the house has commented on what a good job they did. I would strongly recommend Avi to anyone in their remodeling project, and I plan on doing so. Thanks Avi!

The saying goes that ?3rd time is the charm?, but in the case of Finesse, EVERY time has been the charm, and the fact that I have contracted with them for three projects I needed done should be proof positive that this company and the work they produce is nothing short of sensational! Once again, I met with Avi Ben Dov to go over the prospect of his company doing the exterior painting of my house. He did a walk around, and then said he wanted to send one of his foreman to also take a look at what was needed. The house had had a heavy texcote application years before, and it was not only cracking, but peeling and coming off in chunks in some areas. They also noted that one section of the fascia board trim was possibly dry rotted and might need to be replaced ,but they couldn't be sure until they did the prep work. The job would require significant prep and patching, and I was concerned that they wouldn't be able to redo it properly. Bottom line? This job was done immaculately! The house looks like it was just built, with a beautiful textured finish to the stucco -- the patching is seamless -- you can?t tell there was ever any issue at all. The workmen were very considerate, tidy, and completely covered and masked everything. The clean up was also done, far exceeding my expectations. Where they had to trench around the base of the house, they filled it back in....raked the flower bed areas, and in general, made the house and yard look better than it did before the job started. The workmen are all to be commended. They were on time, each and every day. They cleaned up every single day before they left, and one would always come to the door and say they were leaving, and did I need anything moved, put back, etc. Just a courtesy, but it was so nice to know that they were done for the day, could let my dogs out, leave, etc. I had ordered some shutters that needed to be painted and installed alongside two windows, but the shutters didn't arrive until the workmen were done with the job......they were back as soon as I told them I had received the shutters -- no issues, no waiting.....they were painted, hung, and the job was then complete. I was assured by Avi and the paint crew not to worry about the shutters arriving late -- it required another trip back out to the house after the job was done, but it was done with an assurance that it was absolutely fine with them. I highly recommend this company for ANY type of home construction, remodel, etc. I have used them for a complete bathroom remodel, an interior room update remodel, and now painting the exterior of the home. I have more updating to be done on the interior in the future, and will be calling Avi and Finesse to come do the job!

Overall we are pleased with the outcome. The crew that came each day were punctual and hardworking. They were very meticulous about their tile work and making sure that everything was done correctly and to code. Avi himself was always available when we had a question or concern. He provided good ideas that we would not have thought about otherwise, and he helped us decided style-wise what would be best for the look we were going for. The cost ended up being more than what we were hoping to spend but that was to be expected when dealing with a home built in the 1960's. Though it would have been nice if we had been warned ahead of time about the possible increase due to these issues so that we could have factored that into our expenses. Again, we are happy with the final product and wouldn't hesitate to use Finesse again for our future remodeling needs.

We are - as of 2012 - first time homeowners, and the kitchen remodel we wanted done was our first time using a contractor. So we don't have a great deal of comparison with other contractors, but had heard stories from friends and family about their experiences - both good and bad We initially interviewed 4 different contractors - two from Angie's List with good ratings and two referred to us by friends who had had work done by them. Avi Ben Dov - of Finesse Remodeling and Consulting Inc - was out first interview and to be honest, by the time we'd finished we were pretty sure he was 'our guy'. We took the next three interviews as a courtesy, but we had been so impressed with Avi that we notified him as soon as they were over. For the interview, Avi turned up on time (which some didn't), and actually listened to what we wanted - without telling us that our taste wasn't refined enough for our neighborhood (one interviewee told us that linoleum or cork floors 'wouldn't look good in Malibu'. As if we care). Avi also had a quick understanding of what we were looking for - a light, bright, functional kitchen (the opposite of what we had, at that point), and most importantly he was really keen about taking the job. A couple of the interviewees had told us that our kitchen was really 'too small a job' for them to take, so it was very nice to hear Avi explicitly tell us that he really wanted our business and was enthusiastic about doing the project. That pretty much sealed the deal for us! After our interview, we met up with Avi again the next week to go over the project. He was well prepared, and had a full breakdown of the costs involved, and a schedule that turned out to be absolutely correct. We knew from the offset it was going to be an expensive job, as we wanted to remove some extraneous walls and open up the room. Sadly, the walls in question were also supporting walls, so we needed to dig concrete pads and install a support beam in the roof to compensate for them. We also wanted to install a new picture window, to allow more light into the house. Avi was very helpful in explaining how it would be done, and adept in thinking up new innovative ways to get round problems. After the sit-down, Avi was quick to get a complete time schedule and price breakdown to us. We had some budget issues and decided to forgo a few things we had discussed, and Avi was able to quickly send us an amended budget, which suited us all. He was also able to give us contact names and companies in the area we could talk to about the various tile/floor/appliance choices we needed to make. The work started on time, and was completed - but for a few minor touchups - a week ahead of schedule and on budget! His teams - the demo and construction guys, the countertop and cabinet teams, the electrical and floor teams - were all courteous, respectful, good time keepers, reliable and honest - and most importantly did great work! Work was completed on schedule, and if there was a holdup for some reason, we would always be informed of this by the Finesse office well in advance. In fact, communication with Avi/Finesse was always rapid. If we needed to get hold of someone, a call, text, or email was always responded to that working day - if not within the hour. I know from talking to others who have had construction projects done, that sometimes their contractor will go AWOL for long periods - at no time did we feel that Finesse had forgotten us or that our questions were too small to answer. Avi or Joyce (at the Finesse office) would ring us almost every day during the most active period, just to see how things were going, answer questions and inform us of the next stage. Work started mid-Feb, and was finished (except for a few minor things) by the end of March. We decided to have some of the cabinets re-done on the cooker peninsula (nothing wrong or defective with them, but the layout did not suit our cooking needs and so we decided to have different ones installed) and these were quickly done and we were given a discount, even though they were not on the original spec. These were finished and installed by the first week of April, so the kitchen was completely finished and ready to use 9 weeks from the initial start of the planning permission process. The resulting kitchen is awesome - we couldn't be more pleased with it! Its opened up the whole house - and made what was a small, dark outdated, kitchen, which used space very badly - into a bright, clean, large and functional place that we love using and spending time in. The color scheme may not be to everyone's taste (apple green countertops, lemon yellow walls and white trim and appliances), but its exactly what we wanted, and everyone who has come to the house after completion has commented on how nice it is, and how good a job Finesse did for us. We are incredibly pleased with both the speed, cost and professionalism of Finesse, and urge anyone who is searching for a contractor in the area to consider looking into hiring them. We were impressed by them from start to finish, especially having heard so many horror stories about construction projects from friends and family. None of the dire warnings they gave, came true with Finesse! We are looking to remodel our bathrooms in the future, and Finesse will be our first port of call when the time comes to do them.

We couldn't be happier with the bathroom remodel we did with Finesse Remodeling. Avi Ben Dov and his team were full of ideas, prompt, neat, and considerate. We wanted a simple update of what had been a "Jack & Jill" style children's bath, with safety features as we approach retirement. Avi had so many great ideas to make it anything but ordinary AND still stayed within a very reasonable budget. For first timers like us, this project was very intimidating at the beginning. We initially considered hiring a designer, or directly specialized contractors (by trade), but finally decided to go with a general contractor after meeting with a couple designers and contractors. Out of more than hundreds of general contractors listed on Angie?s List, Finesse caught our eyes with its almost flawless customer review history. Their company website was also well-designed with lots of useful information such as previous project pictures and even live customer reviews. What made us eventually choose Finesse was primarily Avi?s customer-oriented attitude, as indicated by many of their customer reviews and shown in our interview with him. The process of the remodeling project was a journey to us as we needed to learn almost everything. Now looking back, we are appreciative that Avi had made so much effort to make the process as accommodating as possible. Avi cares about his customers and is an excellent problem solver. Most importantly, he always had a positive attitude and was willing to make things work, even though that could mean extra cost for him. As general contractor, he was reliable. Both him and his office were always responsive to questions and concerns. When sometimes his subs did not respond in time, he would handle that and left us with no worries. Avi recommended quality vendors for the materials that we needed to buy, and asked them to give us the contractor price. Avi was selective in the subs he partnered with. Our original flooring vendor didn't meet our expectation in terms of time commitment, so he replaced them at the last minute. The new vendor came finished the work with good quality but with a higher price. We only paid a reasonably small portion of price increase due to material change. Avi is passionate about what he does and takes pride in his work. He tracks the latest development in interior design and had given us many good suggestions. His crew was hard working and courteous. His office assistant Joyce was very professional and such a pleasure to work with. Our experience with Finesse and Avi has made us no doubt that their business will continue to grow and succeed. We are thankful for this journey that we had learned so much from it and got to know Avi as a friend. We would definitely recommend Finesse and Avi to friends and family.

Finesse Remodeling came in and checked out our space and figured out a way to make our bathroom look like it belongs in magazines. They demo'd our old bathroom pretty quickly and then started the rebuilding process instantly. While the work was being done, Avi at Finesse would go over, with my wife and I, what the next step would be so that it would be a seamless process. The project, in its entirety, took about 6 weeks. That's actually how long they projected it would take. It was a pleasure doing business with them because they were always upbeat, had smiles on their faces and always listened to what our needs and wants were. We would definitely use them again. In fact, we plan on it in the future since our bathroom is now the best room in the house. The rest of the house needs to catch up.

We previously used Finesse to remodel a bathroom and were so pleased with the results, it was an easy decision to go with Finesse to remodel our second bathroom. Avi made a few design suggestions that made us feel like we had a totally new bathroom and not just an update of the old space configuration (which didn't really work for us). This required changing the plumbing and moving the toilet to a new location....more work for Finesse but totally worth the extra effort. The demo was done quickly and efficiently. The work area was cleaned up afterward and throughout the remodeling process. There were a few delays as expected in any project- an acrylic tub with a lower step over height was hard to find and finally arrived with a deep scratch. Once the replacement tub arrived, work seemed to progress with only a few scheduling delays. Although Avi's work team is truly outstanding, we do have to mention the work of Milton in particular. Milton completed the tile in the tub enclosure and did an absolutely stunning job of bringing our rough design idea to life! Avi was very attentive to issues and worked swiftly to address the finishing details to ensure that the project was completed to our satisfaction. Avi's hands-on approach makes his schedule incredibly busy, however, he always found time to check-in with us throughout the remodel to ensure the work was meeting our expectations. Finesse Remodeling definitely lives up to the positive reviews and well-deserved honors and awards over the past years. A very big step-up from the competition!

We selected Finesse to do some remodeling work on a newly purchased home. The original work was planned to be a complete remodel of our single small bathroom (about 6'x8'), a remodel of the master bedroom closet so that two awkward closets could be combined into a large closet space, and putting up drywall/insulation/fire door so as to create a firewall between the garage and the house. Along the way we have Finesse do some extra minor things - stucco repair, hardwood floor patch. We looked at three quotes - Finesse was not the cheapest, but we went with them for a couple of reasons. We were quite happy to work with Avi, both because we liked his ideas for making use of the small space, but also as he seemed like a straight shooter that we would be comfortable working with. The way it worked for us was that we purchased most of the fixtures and materials for the bathroom in consultation with Avi (except basics like drywall, etc.). When unexpected issues arose after the demo (rotten sub-floor, leaky supply plumbing); however we felt that Avi dealt with us in a straightforward and fair way when it came to adding work to the original contract. It's been about 3 months since the work has been done and we're quite happy with the results. We were on a tight timeline to get the work finished before we moved in - Avi's guys came in on the weekend to get everything finished the day before we moved in! The bathroom looks great and the quality of work in general seems to be excellent. We have been very happy with the follow up: a week ago we had a minor problem with the grout and his guys were out within two days to repair it. Overall, we're quite happy with our experience and would definitely use Finesse again in the future.

This contractor listens well to what the customer is saying and, in conversation, indicates his understanding of what the job will require. This kind of clear communication is a critical starting point for a remodeling project. There is a lot of skill and versatility here. The contractor keeps in mind both the big picture-how the work will potentially affect the home's overall value-and also the many details that this work involves. He understands the issues facing the tradespeople he works with (plumbers, electricians, etc.). When it's appropriate, he's able to offer aesthetic suggestions that are generally quite sensible. When a choice must be made for a situation or special task, he lays out alternatives as objectively as possible, explaining the pros and cons of each. Prices are steep in this business-no exception here. It may be true that the original price of a remodeling project will always expand, as problems are inevitably encountered that require attention beyond what was initially estimated; but it is frustrating to watch costs mount up. On balance, the positives outweigh this. Activities are carried out promptly; schedules are observed. The business of getting the job done moves forward in a no-nonsense way. Most important, the final outcome is superior. The quality of this company's work is good-in fact, clearly above average. Would not hesitate to hire them again.

When we bought our home in the Palisades, we knew that we would need to do extensive remodeling before moving in. We interviewed 5 general contractors that we found on both Angie's List and through personal referrals. After much thought and discussion, we chose Avi ben Dov and Finesse Remodeling for our project and could not be more pleased that we did. Avi was extremely professional and knowledgeable, bringing up ideas and disclosing potential hazards and hidden costs that none of the other contractors had mentioned. He was enthusiastic about his work and our project and his pricing was fair and reasonable. Our remodel consisted of the complete demo & remodel of 3 full bathrooms, refinishing hardwood floors throughout the house; installing custom cabinetry in the hallway, complete demo & reconstruction of 2 closets; replacing 13 interior doors, repainting the entire interior of the house and adding baseboard, and minor kitchen touch ups. We were completely "hands-on" in the design and material choices and Avi and his team were a great resource for various vendors and also ideas on how to get the best possible prices for materials. Quality and attention to detail were of paramount importance to us and we were always relieved when we would inspect things closely to find that the work had been done the right way and to our specifications. Any time there was even a minor correction that needed to be made, we would bring it up with Avi and it would be corrected in short order. The entire crew at Finesse remodeling really did an exceptional job, but we have to highlight Luis and Moses who paid particular care and attention to detail and really went the extra mile to make sure the work being done was not just good, but superior. It is obvious that the entire team at Finesse takes a lot of pride in what they do and that pride shows in their work. We could not be more happy with the results of the remodel of our new home and thank Avi and his team for their dedication and hard work throughout our project. We will be doing future projects/improvements to our home and will not hesitate to call Avi and his team at Finesse. .

After a decade of living with sandpiper tiles from the 1960's and a shower that was not pretty to look at, we (my husband and I) decided to take the plunge and find a contractor to update our hallway bathroom. We met with contractors from personal referrals, ads, and Angie's List. After several interviews, we thought we found a good contractor and almost canceled our meeting with Avi, owner of Finesse Remodeling. We are so happy that we kept our appointment with Avi. Avi's professional yet personable demeanor, coupled with his extensive experience with all facets of remodeling was truly impressive. The scope of the job: Demolition and clean-up, installed a new tile floor, shower enclosure- tiled walls with mosaic lining inserts (really love the tiled niche in the shower!), replaced an original "red-eyed alien" heater with a Panasonic heater-fan unit, installed a new vanity, new fixtures, bathroom accessories, inset medicine cabinet, and repaired and painted walls to perfection. Avi provided calming guidance throughout the entire process. He worked closely with us to manage costs by offering alternatives without sacrificing quality. After struggling to select the right floor,wall, and mosaic tile combination on our own, we finally went to a supplier Avi highly recommended. Her suggestions and eye for color combinations (including finding the right grout color) were spot-on with what we were looking for. I think the most incredible part was that she somehow found tile that we both loved...not an easy accomplishment during a remodel :) The Finesse team showed up on time, worked hard, and cleaned up the work area before they left each day. Above all, they did superb work in their respective areas of expertise. Many, many thanks to Avi and his team for giving us a beautiful bathroom in time for the holidays. Would definitely use Avi and Finesse for future remodeling jobs.

They did just a great job. They were courteous, professional, prompt, and very detailed. the paint was done so well, and so straight, along all lines, walls, doors, etc. They did exactly everything they said they would... no surprises, etc. They were done when they said they would be, and most importantly MY WIFE loved their work!

Prior to starting our major home renovation, my husband and I met with several contractors including Avi Ben Dov from Finesse Remodeling. We were very impressed with Avi's ideas for our renovation and his obvious enthusiasm for his work. Avi did not disappoint. We began our renovations with Finesse Remodeling in September 2013 and were extremely pleased with the results. The home we had purchased was originally built in the 1920s and needed updates to the kitchen and bathrooms. Avi and his team did a complete gut renovation of two bathrooms and a kitchen, as well as completing other smaller projects such as interior painting, patio trellis work, and installing flooring in a converted garage. Avi's team was very professional, diligent, and hard working. They did very high quality work and were very reliable throughout the renovation process. Avi was also a pleasure to work with. He made himself available to meet in person or by the phone to answer any questions or to address any issues that arose. Avi clearly takes pride in his workmanship and values his client relationships. He is very personable and truly cares about his clients. We would definitely work with Finesse Remodeling again on future renovation projects.

Avi was professional and his crew were great as well. They helped me and wife realize our dream kitchen on a great budget. The kitchen looks amazing and all who see it are amazed as well! Would highly highly recommend to friends and family if they needed anything done.

Even though this was a small job Avi responded quickly, his workers are polite and efficient and did a great job! Avi followed up as he always does! I would definitely use Finesse again and I highly recommend them.

Excellent experience from our first meeting on. We met with Avi, discussed options, looked at photos of some previous remodeling projects he had completed, and sketched out a rough plan of what we would like to accomplish. I received three quotes for the work - one was higher and one was lower, but all were within about 20% of each other. Work began as scheduled and his crews arrived early each day and worked into the evening. I was impressed by the care they took to keep the surrounding areas clean throughout the project. We made some slight modifications to the plan during the course of the project and I felt like our negotiations for the additions/ deletions were fair. All of Avi's work was completed on time and completely to our satisfaction. We have two more bathrooms to go and the first call for quotes I make will be to Avi.

My first experience with Avi & Mohammed was great. I had a plan for my project and they suggested an alternate and better (and ultimately less expensive) way to do it and I am extremely pleased with the result. There was a little miscommunication along the way but Avi worked tirelessly to rectify the problem and, like I said, I am extremely pleased with the end result. His workers were very courteous and were very good about cleaning up after themselves which was important to me since I have strict HOA rules to follow with regards to construction.

From the very first inquiry, Avi of Finesse Remodeling was responsive and incredibly helpful. He walked us through the entire process, told us what to expect and had excellent ideas. Avi and his team transformed a dingy 1980's inspired bathroom into two wonderfully functional, aesthetically pleasing and lifestyle changing new restrooms. Finesse Remodeling assisted in every component, from planning the layout to handling permits and inspections to demolition to referring us to tile companies to installing hardware. We came home every day to see obvious progress, and the crew was very respectful and cleaned up after themselves. If we had any questions, Avi would get back to us right away, and was constantly checking in to make sure that we were happy with the project. Home renovation can be a notoriously stressful time, but Avi and Finesse Remodeling were organized and reachable, making our experience not only easier, but also exciting. A fast-moving project with a respectful, responsive, timely and detail-oriented company is all we could ask for, and is what we received. We have been so pleased with our new bathrooms, that we already have Avi assisting in our backyard renovation. There's not another company we need to go to. Finesse Remodeling will be our go-to as long as we have spaces to be renovated.

The coaching on the design was great. Avi had great ideas, that we didn't think about. Everything was done with safety in mind, making our home safer. The plumbing upgrade was amazing. The new lighting and electrical upgrade was beyond what we thought we could have. They have great connections with suppliers. The workmanship on the countertop and backsplash was flawless. All the workers were polite and informative.

I'll make this brief. I met with Avi and got a quote that I was pleased with. But the work started off with his "partner" Zion, who was unprofessional and a lying thief. Work crew was not there daily or from 8a-5p. I was there almost daily to ensure that something was done. They labelled me as an "unusual" client, only because I know something about construction and design that probably made it a little trickier to deal with. Despite the fact, Zion, who I will say is the reason why I rate this contractor so poorly, was a great big mistake to hire to task to remodel. I do not recommend them to anyone to use. I do not understand why their Angies List rating is the way it is, which makes me have very little faith in Angies List as well.

When my husband and I decided to remodel our master bathroom, we searched for bathroom remodeling companies in the Home Improvement Magazine. In checking out several company websites, I paid attention to what their services cover as well as reviews written by past clients. I was impressed that Finesse Remodeling customers provided wonderful comments which made me curious if those were true and accurate. Finesse Remodeling is one of the companies I set up an appointment with. They sent Avi who impressed us with his pleasant personality as well as his work knowledge and experience. We felt at ease with him. He checked our bathroom, took all the necessary measurements and gave specifics on what he will do to give our bathroom a nice modern look. He patiently worked with us on the improvement cost estimate until were comfortable with it. The whole remodeling process went smoothly, with Avi and his assistant Sam making sure everything was done right. The crew were very nice, efficient and hard working. Avi accompanied us in our shopping, being very understanding when we got so meticulous in selecting materials to use and finding the perfect vanity for our bathroom. He answered whatever questions we came up with, to relieve us of any concern . The entire project was completed sooner than scheduled. We are extremely grateful to Avi and we are very glad that we chose Finesse Remodeling.

Everything went well. The crew worked very clean and made sure my house was swept up every day. My existing floors were protected with construction paper. The one issue was with the granite fabricator that was a subcontractor. Other than that the two remodels went according to schedule. Avi and his supervisor and crew were always checking to make sure I was happy with the results. Small issues with the work were quickly resolved to my satisfaction. His crew provided quality work. Avis had great suggestions that helped to keep the cost down. I was not looking to demolish the bathrooms and start over again. Some other companies wanted to do that. Finesse allowed me to replace only the parts of the bathroom I needed or wanted to. By leaving the bathtub and shower intact I saved at least 6,000.00. Replacing the handles in the bathtub and shower made it feel updated and new. Since I provided all the finish materials I knew exactly what I was paying for all the products. The custom cabinet in my master bathroom was provided by Avi's sub. They did a beautiful job and I am very happy with the results. If you know exactly what you want and don't want to be led astray into very costly territory then Finesse is the remodeling company for you. As with any contract you want to make sure that you have the specifics of what you want clearly written in the contract. If I had more remodeling to do I would definitely call Finesse back t do the job.
