Description of Work: The guys that worked on the job were all very nice and the lead guy, Alfonso, was very accommodating. The tear-off crew put several holes in my porch roof walking on it to gather materials they had tossed there. Alfonso took care of the problem by putting new shingles on the roof. When I had a leakage problem he came back and fixed the flashing around the chimney which had not been taken care of the first time. No problems with that since. I'm still finding roofing nails despite the cleanup. A few will show up on the driveway; maybe blown off the roof? Still finding some amongst my plants. | |The inspector pointed out something that should have been taken care of, according to him. One of the roof supports in the front has damage to it (a chunk of it is missing) and it should've been replaced. There was also a problem with the shingle color not qualifying as a "cool" roof. I know that is a pain to everyone from architects to builders to roofing companies. The inspector never signed off on the job. Brian at Colonial (the person I'd been dealing with via phone and email) assured me there was another way to pass the inspection (something the inspector had also mentioned). My roof is done, water tight and looks good, but I have never been told whether the job passed inspection. I haven't received any follow-up from Brian, nor have I been given a copy of the final inspection report. I'm assuming that's part of the process, although I don't really know.

Description of Work: I wanted a roof inspection in advance of the upcoming 2016 El Nino. Colonial was actually the only company with availability, but it turned out well. | |Carl came out and did a thorough inspection and found some areas that could/would leak with heavy rain. The work was scheduled to be done a week or so after, and was completed before the end of that day. And they left no trace on my property that they were even there. | |Good job, Carl! | |

+ -1 moreCarl was incredible, patient, and helpful throughout the complicated job. The old roof had many angles, a steep pitch, and was big (approx 50 squares.) The job required coordination and scheduling with the demolition of existing ducting, and the installation in two phases of attic insulation, new ducting, and new heating & A/C systems. Carl was easy to work with, informative, unflappable when glitches occurred. His demolition crew was fast and so clean you couldn't tell a roof had been ripped off. His roofers were polite, fast, accommodating. Given that we lived through the whole process, we can't say enough in their favor.
Description of Work: Complete tear off and demolition down to the studs of existing shake roof. Installation of new Landmark TL roof with edge vents.

+ -1 moreCarl the owner was very polite but very busy. I contracted the job with him but my roof was delayed many times before it actually was replaced. Some of the work was sloppy (ie-uneven cutting of shingles along side of roof) but the work was repaired when we pointed out deficiencies. What bothered me the most was the lack of oversight of the job by the owner and complete delegation of work to a foreman whom I had never met.
Description of Work: Replaced old asphalt roof with Kool roof shingles. Added insulation to part of the house
