Outstanding in every respect

With the drought situation getting worse daily and the water rationing situation also worsening, I realized my front lawn was doomed (not to mention an astronomical water bill!). After much research into the artificial turf world, I made the decision to replace my front lawn grass with the non-watering type. I, like most people, wanted several estimates for the job. Install-It-Direct was ably represented by Dustin Schmitt ( not a salesman - a Senior Design Consultant with a BS in Landscape Architecture!). Dustin spent several hours (patiently) explaining every aspect of my project while incorporating my ideas for design and answering all questions fullly. The result was not really competition at all. Install-It-Direct had a reasonable price for top quality materials, a track record for professional installation and post contract support. The other 2 companies didn't measure up. Install-It-Direct also worked with me for over a month in scheduling my job (again and again!) while waiting for the EGIA (grass tear out rebate folks) go ahead to start my project and confirm eligibility for a per square foot rebate. Finally, the "tearing out of the grass" began on August 8th. Because it took so long to get 'the go ahead' to start, the install crew worked a full day on Sunday and finished the job on Monday, August 10. Amazing transformation of a dying lawn into a 'resort' caliber, manicured 'lawn'. Take a look at the pictures! My neighbors cannot believe it is artificial grass, and many people I don't know have stopped out front and introduced themselves to ask about the job. The attached photos speak for themselves and reflect the superior workmanship and professionalism of Install-It-Direct, both of their installation crews and their support and management people. The design consultant assigned to our job was Dustin, who did a great job explaining to us what needed to be done and offering some ideas for design. He also stopped by several times throughout the job to check on issues and check things over. The job had been given an approximate completion date of 1 week, but ended up taking 11 days...that was 11 straight days. The access to our backyard was somewhat difficult and the laborers worked hard each day. Some days I felt sorry for them as there were only two of them working. I'd like to mention Francisco was the best! Because of the nature of work involved (i.e. cutting the pavers) there was a tremendous amount of "dust" that covered everything for several days in a row. The men were good about tidying up each day. Our sealer work was done by Tim (co-founder) and his son the day after everything was complete, which I was most appreciative of. They did a great job. Sealing the pavers brings out the their color and gives them a protective coating for up to about 3 years. The reason I gave this company a "B" rating for professionalism was due to the lack of communication I noticed between Dustin, the foreman, and the workers from time to time. Overall, this is a great company and personally thank Dustin!

We're very happy with the driveway that Install-It-Direct put in for us last year. It was a big job (at least for us, it was the biggest single job, cost-wise, that we'd done on our house up to that time - I think they've done much bigger jobs), and we appreciated how much work was done to get everything the way we wanted. There was always someone available we could talk to if an issue arose. And, with something that involves creative/artistic talents as well as construction skill (and plain ol' grunt labor), issues will arise. We thought we had a pretty good plan going, but even the best plan doesn't always predict everything. We had a couple of times when we were called on to decide how to handle something, like transitions from one section of the driveway to another that hadn't been thought of at first. We'd have a quick little confab out on the site, take a look at the options, and get quick agreement on the new direction. We got daily calls from a manager who checked to make sure we were happy with that day's progress. Actually, we had such good interaction with the on-site crew during the day that I don't think there was ever an issue that was left unresolved by the time of the evening phone call. As a tip for anybody considering doing a paver driveway/patio, I'd recommend someone being home to watch progress while work's under way. When they get in the groove, they're FAST. And if something is not right with the pattern, you want to catch it right away. My wife was available to catch when the pavers were (for some reason, I forget exactly why) not turning out in the pattern (or the right kind of randomness or something or other) that she had been expecting. The guys had no problem backing it out and re-doing it, but it was good for everybody that she caught it when the pavers were only a few feet up the driveway, and not after they'd gotten closer to the top. Two minor issues that I was not super happy with - 1. the daily clean-up was super fantastic the first day, merely fantastic the second day, good the third day, and a little less and less diligent each day after that. Never terrible, but I ended up spending a few minutes each day after the third day or so picking up tools and so forth that had been left on the lawn. 2. there was a delay of a couple of days (due to our preference for a matte finish instead of a shiny finish to the pavers) in getting our driveway sealed that I thought was avoidable. Neither of these issues were deal-breakers, and every big home improvement job is going to have its minor hitches, but you can't improve what nobody tells you is an issue. We're thrilled with the end product, though. We've gotten very enthusiastic compliments from guests and neighbors. We'd definitely recommend Install-It-Direct.

What a great experience we had working with install-it-direct! Ronald is not only a great guy, but a great project manager. We weren't sure what we wanted and Ronald provided us with great ideas and suggestions. We can now say our backyard has gone from Drab to Fab. They had a crew out and finished the job in about 4 hours time, they worked hard and nobody slacked. Through the process I worked with the scheduling manager, the contractor, and the salesman and they were all very pleasant to work with.

Called Install-It-Direct for a bid. Sales person, Shawn, responded and promptly arrived at the agreed time (A specific time, not some four hour window). It took three separate consultations with Shawn to finalize the plan. Each time Shawn was very considerate of my needs and offered excellent suggestions. The crew arrived on the agreed date and went to work. The crew was very response to my questions and went to great lengths to make sure I was happy with their work. Shawn would inspect and made sure that the work was as agreed and that the crew was doing an excellent job. Five days later the work was completed and was most acceptable. I am very please with the wonderful value of this improvement to my home.

Had a great experience with Install-It-Direct. My salesperson, Michael, arrived within a day of my call for an estimate. He worked with our concept design, helped us find a paver design and color that would complement competing characteristics of our front yard, and gave us a bid discounted for paying cash/check. The team started on the day we agreed upon--it was that week in September that we had 106 degrees with rain! Those guys didn't stop at all, digging grading and laying in the pavers efficiently, checking with me at points to ensure the curve was exactly what we wanted. They finished on time, and when we decided after all was said and done that we wanted the sidewalk sealed after all, they came within a week of our request to do that too. Overall, Install-It-Direct was extremely responsive. We did not get any other bids since we had done our general research and knew this was a fair price for great work. I would happily recommend them to others. My guy neighbors are now all complaining that their wives want to upgrade to pavers like we have. Happy to have this new look in the front, less watering, more useful space to our home.

This is a historic property, and the new pavers set off the stone house nicely. The crew was considerate and worked diligently for up to 10 hours per day to complete the project in a timely manner. The sales rep, Rubens, checked by on several occasions to ensure that the project was progressing satisfactoraly and met my expectations at project completion. The company works directly with the paver manufacturer to give the customer the best price. Project timing was controlled by the production schedule of the manufacturer. I'm happy and my neighbors like it too. My only complaint was the amount of dust generated by all of the concrete cutting, but I don't think that could be helped given the nature of the project.

I really like this felt girl, she was very knowledgeable, and helped me with my design. I was pleased with that. They got thorough when they said they would. Unfortunately we had a couple of rain that kind of nothing is up. Overall, their work was very good. I think they are probably not maybe conscience of K-Co was. I think their workers knew a little bit of guidance. I had to manage a little bit which I did not feel of my place. But when you had a design, you wanted to be followed. That was not terrible but it was certainly something that they probably needed proving on. They did a great job.

Language was a bit of a problem, but very happy with the result. We provided all materials.

Work was done well but, hours of work and number of people working was sporadic, and there were several things that we were not advised of prior to the work that needed to be corrected although one company representative bulked at that and needed to be advised that it company error by another more helpful representative, at which time the alterations were taken care of and paid for by the company. The finished product was satisfactory but because of my own personal feelings about the matter, I cannot say at this point if I would use this company again. However, I would not discourage anyone else from using Install-It-Direct and have given several people the telephone number.

I received several quotes for this project. Install It came in right in the middle. Their professionalism and the time they spent explaining the details swayed me to give them the contract. The project has several large hiccups, but they handled them directly and fairly with me. There were actually some costs I expected to be charged that they did not pass on to me. The crew was professional and worked very hard. They cleaned up at the end of every day and secured the yard for my dogs. The customer service is excellent. Someone checked in with my everyday to make sure things were going smoothly and to my expectations. The end result was exactly how I envisioned it and the work was performed to the highest of standards. I will definitely use them again for my next project.

The team at Install it Direct was AWESOME! Ron was so patient with us. The scope of the work went through several changes over several weeks while we made up our mind on exactly what we wanted. Ron just rolled with the punches and maintained his friendliness throughout. He is super knowledgeable and we felt at ease with him in charge. Our old driveway is gone and has been replaced with ORCO pavers; and it is absolutely beautiful. From conception and design by Bud, to completion, we were very impressed with the integrity, knowledge, and experience of all members of the team in charge of our project. Alfonso, Ron, and the crew were fantastic -- they were very professional, hard working and all had a good eye for details. The results exceeded our expectations. We were amazed at how quickly they were able to turn our old cracked straight-lined concrete driveway into a sweeping work of art. It was quite an exciting process to witness. These people are awesome! We've had several wonderfully glowing comments/compliments from friends and neighbors who have seen the finished product. They love everything about it. So do we! We choose Install It Direct over several other paving stone installers. We were doing a major renovation of our home and had several challenges with vendors we had contracted for the addition to our home as well as the interior renovations. It seemed that every other vendor would come in low and then have a stack of change orders waiting with additional charges. This was not the case when Ron Dombroski came to visit with us. He was wonderful to work with. Our initial visitation was almost a year before we broke ground and we had several visits after that to work on design and scope changes. Ron came up with some design idea's that really turned our project into a work of art. The project consisted of a front wrap around driveway, front entrance, a side drive, back yard patio and pool deck. It was a little over 5,000 square feet with a large part of it being our front yard. With the use of pattern changes and a beautiful border the pavers are very inviting and have become extension of our home. Install It Direct was not the lowest estimate we had received but after doing our research and speaking with and seeing several of their clients it was an easy decision to make. Ron Dombroski visited our home every day to check in with us and the istallation crew. The crew was on time every day and worked very clean and effeciently. They respected our home and even added to Ron's artistic vision with a great paver inlay for our front porch. The one thing we noticed was the sense of pride and work ethic everyone had. First I called number on the firm's website and spoke with Tim who is the the owner of the company. Tim has left a very positive impression and told me that the main advantages of going with Install-It-Direct are professionalism of his crew while maintaining competitive pricing, as well as the fact that they do not increase price after the contract is signed. Next step was meeting with Bud, who impressed us even more by his sharp knowledge of the construction practices. Bud helped us to find the best design fitting our taste and needs, then he gave us a very competitive estimate. Next we worked with Ron, who demonstrated great professionalism, while he supervised the construction process, organized delivery of the materials etc. Depending on the stage of the project, we saw more or less workers, but most of the time Jose and Rivera were doing all of the complex work. During the project Install-It-Direct met multiple unexpected challenges with the type of soil and profile of our backyard, but did not raise the price by a single dollar, the initial promise made by Tim was kept! The retaining wall came out beautiful, and the paved backyard looks like it is a piece of art! As an additional positive I would like to note that we were pleased by the fact the company was not trying to sell us anything besides what we asked for, Ron and Bud were honest about and quot;recommendedand quot; things, which can be done later, by ourselves. We got plenty of free advise on the possible additional future steps. Also many of our neighbors made nice comments about great design with contrasting paved areas borders, great craftsmanship, and high quality of the job.

The company cares more about yelp reviews than actually providing service to its customers. Upon placing a review on Yelp I was contacted by Tim Thomson the owner of the company and he asked me to remove my review or give them a better review. Upon posting my experience on yelp 4/19/2013 several reviews have been popping up on yelp giving them 5 star which are very questionable since previous reviews are several months apart each. I'm hoping that Angie's list review system is more accurate. In response to both individuals who are posting on behalf of INSTALL-IT-DIRECT it should mention that you guys did breach the contract by failing to execute the project on the set date. Bottom line you guys could not deliver now no matter how hard you guys try to make it sound good it's the same mess. Full response to Ron's comment here: There are Lots of inaccuracies in Mr.Dombroski's statements it is interesting that he has missed out a lot of details to help his arguments. I would like to set the record for these inaccuracies: 1- the only way of access is not through the residence but there is a back trail which goes behind the backyard fence. In order to use the trail a portion of the fence has to be temporarily removed. This option was discussed with install-it-direct and they were not interested preferred to access the backyard through the residence. 2- The difficulty of access was discussed and factored into the final price of the contract contract was for paver installation and also so drainage connections to the total of $4340 of which $4000 was for the paver installation which makes it $22 /sf for a 182 sq ft backyard. Usually Pavers are installed between $8-12 /sf. The additional cost was to cover the extra labor for the hard access and also the fact that they were willing to do a job over a weekend. A comparable quote for the same Pavers and the same access point was bid to $3800 by 2 other companies (for both Pavers and drainage work) but they could only work on week days.I felt it was fair to pay the extra $500 if they are doing the job over the weekend.So Mr.Dombroski was certainly not doing a charity work.He and his crew were well compensated for the extra effort. 3- It is true that Mr.Dombroski suggested the installation of the gutters and it is true that HOA authorization needed to be acquired which caused delays throughout the project.But once the authorization was acquired he himself called me and set the installation date of 3/16/2013. The initial, contract was signed on 1/20/2013 which gives almost two month for Install-it-direct to evaluate the fact whether if they can obtain the Pavers or not.They failed to do so and failed to deliver on the installation date set by themselves. 4-The Pavers chosen for the job were Belgard Doblin Cobble Sedona and not Avington.I was initially told by the design consultant that install-it-direct could obtain those Pavers. They should have done their research for the 2 month gap they had to make sure the project would not have a hick up. 5- Mr.Domborski mentioned that the supplier had 2 pallets of the 3pc Pavers which could be provided but the project was using 9x9. That is totally incorrect and inaccurate. The project Pavers were Doblin cobble Sedona 3pc. The samples provided by the design consultant were sitting in my backyard and Mr.Domborski did take a good look at them. I still have the samples which are 3pc Sedona.He also told me they had only 1 pallet which he could get from a friend of his which was left over from a previous job and if I wanted to get two pallets of the same Pavers they had to order it and there would be a$500 molding fee and$1000 extra on the Pavers totalling $1500 more.I explained to him that I have been quoted for those exact Pavers for the contract and I cannot pay them more.the molding fee was not basically my problem at that point.Had they told me initially that they wanted $1500 more I would not have signed a contract with them.that is why quote is given and contract is signed otherwise any contractor could adjust their price based on the direction of the wind and as he wishes. This argument of additional incurred costs has no merit whatsoever. 6- Mr.Dombroski states that he realized the issue regarding the supply of Pavers a week before the installation. He should have informed me right away of the issue. On the other hand, neither him or the design consultant contacted me in those regards. 72 hours before installation I contacted the design consultants he did not tell me there is any issues with the project.I became aware of the issue when he said he wants to mix the Pavers I wanted with some other pavers. This is not the transparency that I expected from this company or any other company. 7-Mr.Dombroski needs to realize that a paving contract is not the same as a marriage contract which runs for unlimited amount of time.By skipping their install date as Mr.Dombroski and I agreed to be 3/16, Install-it-direct actually did void the contract. Now I had the option to sign a new contract with them if I wanted to wait for their process to go through and I appreciate that Mr.Dombroski provided the discount for the additional cost. However, they had the issue of miss-communication the first time around and I did not want another surprise happen to the job. 8- Last but not least there is a reason that filtered reviews are indeed filtered. It is because Yelp has felt that those review might be biased or misleading. If he is interested in knowing more I will be more than happy to reveal how install-it-direct acquires the 5 star ratings all across while the quality of work that I saw was less than 2 stars.

Ron and the team at Install It Direct did a fantastic job with our backyard remodel in a time efficient manner while staying within our budget, we could not be happier. We received estimates from 4 companies including Install It Direct. Based on their competitive pricing and interaction with Ron we chose Install It Direct and we now feel we clearly made the right decision. Not to mention the workers who completed the project were exceptionally professional and clearly worked very hard to finish the job. The quality of their work is top notch. Our new yard and patio look great, neighbors comment positively and we love to be out there now, we will certainly be contacting Install It Direct in the future to remodel our front yard and entryway.
