Description of Work: We had several different items, each of a different type of wood and/or different finishes that were in bad shape and needed to be refinished. We found AAA Woodcrafters on Angie's List and I gave Keith a call. He came out to our house and was able to tell me about the type of wood (cherry, pine, ironwood, etc) and the type of finish (wax, urethane, tung oil, etc.) that had been used on them. He discussed what would be required to restore the pieces, and what the finish options were, as well as his recommendations. One piece was an old antique from Boston, and he suggested he have an antique expert he knows look at it before he touched it to be sure we would not diminish it's value. In the end, he refinished 5 pieces of furniture, and they all look as good as, or better, than they did when we originally bought them. We are thrilled with the outcome.

Description of Work: Repaired and rebuilt antique rocking chair, Childs chair and table. Shannon contacted me right away, came to my home to look at furniture and gave an estimate for repairs. + -1 moreHe provided a price of $775.00 plus a $75.00 pickup fee. Since the gentleman's estimate was exorbitantly priced, I decided not to go ahead with the work. Furthermore, he only provided the estimate by email and never offered to come out and inspect the table first-hand.
Description of Work: I asked him for an estimate on refinishing the top of a small mahjong table which is similar in size to a rounded fold-out card table.

Description of Work: AAA refinished and repaired some unique hardware on a rustic cabinet piece that would have otherwise been difficult to replace. The piece looked great, although I was surprised that there were cobwebs underneath the cabinet (even though they were there when I brought it in I figured it would have been cleaned from top to bottom for the price). The cabinet doors function better than before.

+ -1 moreThe man I spoke with wanted to charge an exorbitant amount to pick up the furniture. The next thing that he offered was that he wanted me to take the furniture to him, which I cannot do. And lastly, he wanted me to take pictures of the furniture so he could give me an estimate. I would not recommend him as he seemed apathetic to my needs.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal with them for $99 for $200 worth of furniture restoration.

+ 1 moreKeith did the most amazing job. The cabinet looks incredible now. The interior is much lighter and the piece looks like it did when it was made. Even my fiance, who is incredibly picky, thought it looked beautiful. If you have wood furniture that needs to be refinished, repaired or just touched up, go with AAA Woodcrafters. You will be thrilled with the results.
Description of Work: Keith refinished a teak wood cabinet that I had purchased at a consignment store. The wood had been stained over and oiled, so it was too dark and had lost that natural teak look. Keith had to pick it up and bring it to his shop, where it was refinished. He then delivered it back to my house.

+ 1 moreThe desk is beautiful!! It could not have turned out better and we couldn't be happier! We discussed the color it would be before Keith took the desk to work on it and when it came back it was just as he described. His eye is excellent at determining the original undertones of the wood and therefore what the end product should look like, otherwise the piece could look artificial and unnatural. Keith also picked it up and dropped it off when the work was finished, which was great as we only have Honda Civics that would never fit it. It was also very quick and he even finished ahead of schedule.
Description of Work: We have an antique desk that was in dire need of being refinished, along with removal of stains and water marks, and repair of a drawer handle. Keith restored the wood, removing all blemishes, and stained it to bring out the woods original warm tones. He also repaired the handle (which I wasn't sure was going to be possible).

+ 1 moreKeith refinished a Stickley coffee table for us after 6 years of major wear/tear/kid carnage. The coffee table was scratched, pocked, and worn down past the finish in many areas. He picked up the table and dropped it back off at no additional charge, and his price was the best of three vendors we compared. The table came back looking BRAND NEW - like it was just out of the store. So in summary: - Awesome job - Lowest price - Friendly and easy - Free pickup and delivery. Beat up table + Keith = Brand new looking table + happiness!

+ 1 moreWhen I took the table to Keith, he inspected it and indicated what needed to be done. He also showed me a trick with the table that I didn't know about! It was a family piece--old but not necessarily a valuable antique, but had family history. He gave me an estimated time frame, as well as the cost. It was finished earlier than expected. In addition to refinished the top, he did some touching up on the bottom and put a finish coat there at no additional cost. I appreciated his professionalism and the fact that he brought this old piece of furniture back to life. I would certainly use him again.

+ 1 moreKeith got the job done quickly. He also refinished the wood while it was in the shop. I feel like he is a real artist and he cares deeply about the quality of his work. He is also very straightforward and reasonable about his pricing.
Description of Work: The arm broke on my fancy but 10 year old Ethan Allen leather office chair. Keith correctly diagnosed the problem, and provided a creative solution that did not involve cutting into the leather (thank you Keith!) Two weeks later, the OTHER arm broke. Keith fixed the other arm for the cost of the materials.

He shared his observations with regard to what could be done with the table and chairs and what the outcome would be. We were hsoting a dinner party in a few weeks and wanted the piece refinished. We needed the table & chairs returned before the party. Once we decided to move forward, Keith picked up the pieces and agreed to return them in time for the party. The table and charis were returned on-time and they look great. He was able to darken the wood just enough. He performed all of the work for
Description of Work: My wife and I were debating if we should purchase a new table and charis or refinish the existing table and charis. We requested and estimate to refinish the wood on a 15 year old table and 4 charis. The finsh was bubbling in some places and missing in others. We also requested the peice be darkened if it could be done within budget.
