The Plumbing Therapist

The jets in our bathtub don't work. They need the switches replaced. The plumber said he would have to order the parts but we have not heard from The Plumbing Therapist since then. I left one voicemail message which they never replied to. I called today and the lady said they answered all their phone message from this weekend, yet they never replied to my message. This issue still has not been resolved. Overall communication has been non existant. Even though I had to select Yes or No if I would hire them again, I feel that is premature since the job has not been completed. So that is open to change if they complete the job to our satisfaction. Thank you.

My appointment window was 8 am- 11 am. Brian showed up at 8:30. He completed the job in a timely manner and cleaned up the area under the sink. He was friendly and professional.

The plumber arrived on time, went right to work and answeres my questions about future work. I would use them again.

This business was highly recommended so we asked for a quote. I waited at the house for the three-hour window and no one had shown up. I called to verify I had the right date and time and Michael showed up five minutes minutes later. I asked him to disregard my phone message and then we walked through the job I wanted done. Everything seemed fine - we got along well, he seemed knowledgable, there were no problems. He was going to email his quote to me. I waited and waited, and nothing came forth. I called to make sure they had my proper email address, I sent an email to them through Angie's List, to make sure they had my correct email address, I included my physical address and asked that they send a hard copy quote, since email wasn't working. I give up. I'll need to try with someone else.

Michael came out to our home for an estimate on installing a tankless water heater. He was on time and very helpful, answering all my questions. He gave me a ballpark verbal of around $1,800. However, I did not receive a written estimate for nearly two weeks. I called several times and talked to the office lady and Michaels wife letting them know I was still waiting for a written estimate as well as leaving several messages asking someone to please call me. I was told once that their computers were down but that I would have the estimate that day. Didn't happen. When I finally did receive the written estimate it was $800 more than the verbal not to mention that information I had requested and Michael had said would be there was not. In all the time I was waiting for the written estimate and calling and leaving messages, I received exactly one phone call from The Plumbing Therapist. Needless to say I went with a different plumber.

He was prompt, direct and job went well.

I scheduled service online and received a call right away. I called late in the day but due to my urgent request, they managed to schedule an appointment that very same day. They came during the time frame they quoted. The serviceman was extremely courteous and professional. He was in and out and pointed out why our toilets kept getting clogged and fixed the issue.I will definitely use The Plumbing Therapist again due to their prompt service and excellent customer service!!!!

Appointment was for 11/18 from 2-5 PM. Mike from TPT arrived within the allotted time at 4:30PM and promptly went right to work. He quickly diagnosed the problem with the upstairs toliet (the reason the call was scheduled) and was able to identify a simple fix. Upon hearing this I asked him to take a look at another upstairs toilet that had been off and on again giving us trouble. Again, Mike was able to quickly diagnose the problem and again recommend a simple fix. Unfortunately, he did not have the parts necessary for the second repair, but he said that he would quickly go and get the part necessary to fix it. Mike left and returned within 20 minutes with the parts and went to work fixing both toilets. During the time he was fixing the toilets I informed him that we also had two bathroom sinks (one upstairs and one downstairs) that appeared to be draining slowly. He pleasantly said he would look into them. I wanted emphasize the word "pleasantly" because by this time it was getting on to 5:30 PM on a Friday Night no less and Mike was very courteous and professional. Once he was done with the toilets he asked me to test them out a number of times to make sure I was good with the fixes. Meanwhile, Mike went on to investigate the slow sink drains. Toilets worked great and the slow sink drain fix was accomplished with a simple snaking of the drains. Once the work was completed I had another question about some copper piping under the upstairs bathtub that I thought may be damaged due to a water leak. Mike looked at it and assured me the piping was fine and did not need to be replaced. He then went on to explain how the "occassional" leakage look to be occuring and recommended a simple fix to me. As you can see from this summary of events there were a number of instances where the answer to my questions could have been other than just a simple fix leading to more work than I needed. But in every case Mike took the time to explain what he saw and recommend only the necessary service. For that I am greatly appreciative. Lastly, I engaged Mike in a discussion about possible toilet replacements. Mike politely answered my questions. There was no "hard-sell" approach and we ended this dialogue with Mike simply saying "if you decide that you want to replace your toilets, please contact us and we would be happy to help" and handed me his business card. Overall a very positive experience and I will have no reservations recommending them to friends and family should the need arise.

Did not get a return call. I used someone else.

Had a clogged bathroom sink. Drain clog chemicals didn't work. Even pulling the outside hose in and trying to pressure the clog out did not work. Emailed them for appt. They call backed the next morning and scheduled visit for next day (based on my schedule). They were punctual and fixed the problem with 1 hour.

The Plumbing Therapist were prompt and completed the work in a timely manner. They also estimated the price over the phone. There were no hassles or surprises and gave excellent service. I would recommend their service to anyone.

Michael was a bit late but he sure knew what he is doing. He is also willing to help on tightening sink faucet. The price is reasonable. And his work is solid. He is also polite when you ask him questions.

Mike, the plumber, replaced the old, rusted bathtub drain. He did not have the right color drain and plug (brass), because it was on back order from the company. Mike temporarily put in a different color (chrome); it was a difficult 2-person job and necessary to crawl under the house (cramped and dirty). He found a rotted pipe. He replaced the pipe and put in the drain; no complaint from him or extra charge for difficulty of project. Mike came back in a few weeks and changed out the chrome for the brass when it was available. It looked great, worked perfectly; the bathroom was left clean on each occasion. I would definitely use his service again.

I used The Plumbing Therapist's website to submit a service request late on a Monday night to have someone come out late Wednesday evening and I had a response back via e-mail Tuesday morning. Bonnie put the scheduled appointment time in the subject line (a nice touch) and gave details in the body of the message. I replied back confirming the appointment and that was that- I really appreciate being able to schedule that over e-mail as I was traveling and not able to call. Mike arrived within the appointment window on Wednesday and got right to work. He was very nice and professional. He had to work in the dark and the cold and still was enthusiastic and in good spirits. I was impressed with the entire experience and would gladly use them again.

They are first cabin and I thought they were just great.

An appointment was made for a few days after my call as this was not an emergency situation. The plumber called when he was on his way and arrived on time. He asked about the problems and got right to work on them. When he was done he explained the work he'd done and told me to call back if I had any concerns about the repairs. He was friendly, courteous and professional. I will call this company if I have any future plumbing problems.

I live on the outer edges of my Angie's List area so I was very happy to find a highly rated provider that would come out to my area. Because I am far from their office I'm not surprised that Mike was a little late both for the initial estimate and the actual service. Like I said I'm just glad he was willing to come out here at all. I got several estimates for this job. Mike was the only person who said that he would HAVE to get a permit and that he would do everything to code. He even mentioned installing an expansion tank (for code) that no one else mentioned. He also did not hard sell me on a tankless system like everyone else did. We talked about it, but it was all my doing and questions. Mike's estimate was around 10% higher than my second choice, but I just got a much better feeling from Mike. He was more down to earth, he clearly knew what he was talking about, but he was low key. He recommended a couple of different brands and he tried to talk me out of the higher rated models (5 or 6 yrs vs 10 or 12) saying that the tank was the same and that he could probably install an anode rod for cheaper than going with the longer warranty, and get the same benefit. He said he would call me back later that day with info. on the anode rod and warranties and the brand that I was looking at which was different from the brand he recommended. I chose a different brand based on my own internet research. Mike was supportive and did not hard sell any particular brand and basically agreed with what I had read regarding the specific details of my conclusion. Mike did not call back that day, and I had to follow up a day or two later, but then he did return my call. Install day - I scheduled for Thursday, my first window was 10 - 1. They called back and rescheduled for 12 - 3. Like I said, I live far away, and Mike finally showed up around 3:30 or so. I did have to call around 3:00 to see when he might be out. He got to work right away and quickly prepped the work area and started draining the tank. It was really hot in my garage so I offered Mike a drink and gave him a Gatorade. After getting the tank draining Mike left to get the permit and purchase a part. He was gone a little while and when he came back he replaced my Gatorade, and brought some carbon monoxide detectors for inside my house. This is a new code requirement and the inspector will be verifying that I have them installed. (I'm not sure if the detectors came from the city or if he bought them when he got the other part, but it was still cool of him to do that, and to replace my Gatorade.) Like I said, it was really hot that day, especially in my garage, but Mike kept at it and the job went as anticipated. Mike answered my few questions, and cleaned up pretty well before he left. Mike bought the brand I wanted and with the 10 year warranty like I wanted. Come to find out, there is absolutely NO difference. The 10 year model IS the 6 year model with an extended warranty like you would buy at Best Buy or something. The warranty is from the manufacturer, not a third party, but even so, knowing this, I probably would not have done it - I never get those extended warranties. While I had Mike there I had him fix a leaky faucet too. He installed a kit that I had previously purchased, and he didn't charge for that service. He did point out that the low hot water pressure in that sink was unusual, but we chose not to pursue it at the time, it's always been that way. Now that I know it's weird I may have it investigated and fixed at a later date. All in all it was a pretty good experience. Mike was a little more expensive, but totally by the book, which is important not just for the city permit, but also for resale, and even, as Mike pointed out, homeowner's insurance if there were to be damage due to a hot water heater problem. I would also like to point out that I am a hard grader. I think I have explained the "B"s thoguh, and I would like to point out that B still means "Good." I also did rate the overall experience as an A.

These guys are amazing! They do it all and do outstanding work. They are so thorough and cover every detail. I can't say enough about how pleased we have been with their service. As others have commented, this is a family company that operates with a high level of integrity and absolutely amazing pricing. I totally trust them. You won't be disappointed.

I called on 8/23/11 and left a message that I needed a leaking faucet either repaired or replaced. My call was returned promptly and an appointment was made for 8/24/11. Brian showed up within the appointment time frame. He spent a long time trying to fix the old existing faucet but it was still dripping. I had purchased a new faucet because I thought it would be needed. Brian didn't hesitate to take out the old faucet and replace it with the new one. He also replaced a faucet aerator in the bathroom. He was very courteous and professional. We discussed the possibility of replacing all of my plumbing and I will definitely call on The Plumbing Therapist when I am ready to do the job.

Mike immediately diagnosed that it was the diverter and that it was because an o-ring was missing from the assembly. He offered to just give me an o-ring and I could just put the diverter back on (without even charging me for a service call !). I decided to have him do it because I wanted to ensure it was done properly. He did that and also reinstalled the faceplate and caulked everything to ensure it was water tight. This is an honest, professional and high integrity operation - and Mike is a very nice guy too. They will definitely be the plumbers I call going forward. Thank you!!

set up an appointment two days in advance to have my main sewerline cabled to check if i have a root problem. the technician arrived within the scheduled three hour window and ran the line with no problems. the job was a simple and therefor i am unable to judge their technical expertise. they are a small family operation, so responce time might be an issue for emergency jobs, that being said, they were promt, professional, and very reasonably priced. i would not hesitate to call them again.

Faucet in kitchen sink went out Thursday morning, spraying water everywhere. I called Thursday night, after hours and left a message. I did not get a call back Friday morning, so I called about 10:45 AM. They said they'd have someone there between 11 AM and 2 PM. Plumber arrived around 1:30. He got going right away, tried quite hard to get it fixed, new o-rings, better seal, but he concluded faucet was kaput. While I dashed off to get a new faucet, he removed all of the hardware on the old one. When I returned he got right on it, got it installed, working well, everything neat, clean, and tidy and done before 3 PM. It went very well---in 4 hours, from time of 2nd call and talking to someone, the job was done and done well.
