The Plumbing Therapist

Brian was dispatched over to our house for an appointment time between 2pm to 5pm. He arrived at approximately 3:50pm. He courteously put on shoe covers before entering our house which I greatly appreciate from any maintenance technicians.We had two needs, the lack of water pressure diagnosed in our kitchen faucet and our garbage disposal had burned out and was in need of replacing. Brian quickly ascertained the problem with the faucet, which turned out to be a quick fix. The disposal was remedied in an equivalent short time. He had our old disposal out and new one in in less than half an hour! I was thoroughly impressed by Brian's professionalism and great customer service. I highly recommend The Plumbing Therapist to anyone and would gladly call upon their services in the future.

It went exactly as we planned. The plumber was on time and finished quickly. He did a great job!!!

He was FANTASTIC! There prices are so reasonable, too; ten times less than other bids I've gotten. He came the same day that I called to do the work.

They worked till the job was done. They gave me a very reasonable estimate. They did a very thorough job. I had other jobs that cost me much more. They were very reasonable priced.

Someone friendly came out and gave a good evaluation and solution to my problem. I was more than willing to have them do the work but they didn't call me back or email as they said they would. I called back for more information and was told I would get a call back. There was no call back.

I called requesting a plumber because I had a leak under the house. She made an appt. for almost a week later (I had running water mind you). I made the appt. thinking every plumber may have that time frame. I was able to find a plumber who saw the urgency of having a leak, so cancelled the appt with Plumbing Therapist. The owner(?) called a week or so later and very graciously apologized.

I placed a call to The Plumbing Therapist- #1 on Angie's List- on Tuesday morning and left a voice mail message. Bonnie called me back that same day later in the morning and could schedule an appoitment for that same Tuesday afternoon. I told her it was not good for Tuesday, but how about Thursday. She scheduled an appointment for Thursday morning between 8 and 11:00 am. Because my request was deficiency-oriented, the fee would be $80.75. Brian -owner's father who is retired-came to my home about 10:15 am and left about 11:30 am. He assessed my master bathroom shower stall for caulking and grout deficiencies/leaks. He turned on the water in the shower and observed where the water hit the tiles and shower door, and if any water leakage onto the outside floor. He verbally explained to my mom what he found. He also wrote it all down for me as I was not there and would be doing the caulking. The hand-written "how-to" was very legible and easy to understand.

Excellent from start to finish!! A+ The company did not charge for the estimate, unlike 2 other companies. They went under the house to assess the gas line location and ensure proper sizing; the other company charging the highest estimate 49.50, did not go under the house and informed me this would increase the estimate. The Plumbing Therapist was efficient during the estimate, helpful, responsive to questions and very professional. This same approach was carried over when doing the job. As well, they were very careful when removing and replacing the dryer. I would use this company again, hands down. And, having experienced many negative experineces with contractors performing less than quality work, this was pleasant and refreshing positive experience.

I contacted Plumbing Therapist for a basic cleaning of a clogged drain and running toilet. Spoke with the receptionist, who was not very organized or professional. Advised her that I had the Angie's Big Deal, and she was not clear that it was only applicable to a diagnostic service only and would not cover a basic service such as unclogging a slow drain. Work performed by the plumber was excellent, as he was timely and knowledgeble and efficient. Even offered solutions to avoid problem in the future. My only contention was, that he did not acknowledge or ask about the Big Deal or try to clarify that the deal only covered a diagnostic. Since it was easy for him to determine the issue being a clogged drain and what his course of action would be, a diagnostic was not needed. At this point he should have clarified that the Big Deal was not applicable and given me the option of proceeding with the Angie's List Member price of $80.75/hr or using the Big Deal to cover his time spent "diagnosing" the issue and allowing me to decline his service. Had I been given this option, I would probably declined the service and spent my money elsewhere and performed the work myself. Instead, he proceeded to repair the issue without advising me of incurring charges. The work performed was rather easy and did not last an entire hour. The plumber didn't even have to stoop under the sink, as his work was performed outside using the cleanout pipe. Once the work was completed, again the plumber did not ask or mention anything about the Big Deal and another member of my household was given a bill of $80.75, as I was precoccupied with other matters. Being in the service industry myself, it it understood that you deal with one contact person including billing. Apparently the plumber did not believe this and quickly left my home without attempting to reconcile with me. Again the work performed was excellent, however the communication and explanation of the Big Deal was non-existent. After discovering being billed an additional amount, I returned to work and attempted to contact Bonnie over the phone, and only left a message. I then wrote an email, explaining the situation and confusion concerning the service and Big Deal. I did not receive a response until 3 days later, at which point Bonnie was very apologetic and professional. I explained my misdirected understanding of the deal and she clarified it for me. Had i received this explanation from the outset from either the receptionist or the plumber, I would have declined service and saved the Big Deal for a more major plumbing need. Bonnie was very nice in our conversation and email correspondence and even offered a refund to offset the price paid for the Big Deal. However, 2 months since I last made contact, I have yet to receive the agreed refund. I understand Bonnie may be busy, but being a small business in a service industry, your word is the only thing consumers can trust. Still waiting on a response from Bonnie, along with the refund. Based on my experience with this company, I will not use them in the future, nor recommend their services.

Callled and described problem. They had availability same day and arrived within the hour. Great job!

Called on 2/17/2012 for a quotation. On 2/23/2012 the father of the owner came out and spent a good amount of time discussing the potential job. Called into the owner and verified the price of the work, including discount for Angie's list coupon. I wanted to include most of the quoted work, but eliminate an item. Called and left message. Called twice more and spoke to receptionist and left messages. Never received a call back. I would have had the work done by them. Quote was professional. Follow up, not so much

Plumbing Therapist was great from start to finish. Michael -the tech- was great, he was professional and friendly and was a good communicator (regarding his arrival times and describing the work he was doing) -that is appreciated. I had bought a kitchen faucet and disposal from HomeDepot and had him install those. Also in bathroom one- the Hot and Cold shower valves needed to be changed out -symptoms were the hot was dripping and squeaking and hard to turn all the way off. In bathroom two- same thing...not as bad, but while he was there- these were likely original (1975)- so I had him change out those valves too. They are now soft and cushy and turn off nice and gently. No more loud squeaks! Michael also gave advice on possible toilet replacements and we also asked his advice about an outdoor bib/spigot move in the future. He was very informative and honest. Would recommend him to others for sure and plan to call them for toilet replacements soon.

My only complaint with this company was the amount of phone tag it took to get their visit scheduled. One we had the appointment, everything was great. On time. Knowledgeable and friendly. The leak had begun to show as a spot on the living room ceiling and it took a few months to go from the size of a raisen to the size of a half dollar. While I got past the holidays and tried to figure out who to call I was really nervous about what the damage might be growing from mold. Together we determined where to cut the hole that would be the best for diagnosis and repair. He did a great job and made the panel as small as possible. All together he was here about 90 minutes and charged me only what my Angie's Daily Deal voucher paid for. I was so happy with the repair and the revelation that there was no mold and the leak had been going on intermittently for YEARS from a poorly placed seal in the over flow of the tub/shower drain. I waited a couple of weeks to get the hole repaired and had a catch pan under the "former leak" to make sure there wasn't a drop coming through (his recommendatins to me). Dry as a bone afterward!! I have already referred others to them. Just don't be put off by the phone tag thing. They were worth it.

I have a 54 year old house and the water pressure/temperature had dropped in both my showers. I was afraid that I would need to re-pipe, but, Brian came out and was able to flush out my lines, clean out the cartridge in one shower, and replace the cartridge in my other shower. Both are working great now! I was very happy with my experience and would definitely use them again.

Because of unanticipated difficulties at earlier jobs, Mike was unable to arrive to perform the installation during the scheduled 4 hour window. He called and rescheduled, at my request, for first thing the next morning. He arrived on time bearing coffee and donuts; removed the old heater and installed the new one. On two subsequent occasions the heater stopped heating because of a sensor problem. The first time Mike returned my call after hours and we resolved the issue over the phone by turning off and restarting the heater. On the second occasion, Brian came to the house and went over the system, but no problem was detected and the heater functioned normally after restarting. Brian called the manufacturer to determine if there were any reported problems with the heater and was informed that sometimes this problem occurred once or twice after initial installation. If the issue persisted, the sensing unit should be replaced. Both Mike and Brian were friendly, courteous and professional.

A slight hiccup in timing, but after arriving, the work was done quickly and professionally.

My initial telephone contact was outstanding. The phone was answered quickly and my appointment was scheduled right away. The service was quick and efficient. I was very impressed and would highly recommend them to anyone with plumbing needs.

He did a really good job. He had to cut into our wall and fix the leak. He then created a nice access panel to cover that up. The price was great.

I put in a service request through the Plumbing Therapist website and I received a prompt call back from Bonnie to schedule an appointment. Brian arrived on time and was very courteous and professional. He went over the job request with us before he started so he understood exactly what we wanted done. We're very satisfied with his work and we would use this company again.

They are on Angie's List and did a great job; I give them 5 stars. They do a great job and they are the only plumber I want touching my house.

Horrible, no follow through, no follow up, no estimate sent. Did I mention they suck and don't care?!

Mike arrived within the window given to me when I scheduled the appointment, and he quickly set about inspecting the plumbing throughout the house (purchased as a Big Deal). When it came time to flush the water heater, he immediately recognized it was leaking too much to sustain a flush. Unfortunately The Plumbing Therapist doesn't work with my home warranty company, otherwise I would have requested them specifically. Even so, Mike wrote up a detailed list of his inspection findings and highlighted those that should be covered under my home warranty so I would be well-prepared when it came time to argue with -- I mean, request service from -- my home warranty company. After the inspection Mike installed two new bathroom faucets to replace old ones (functioning but horribly outdated) and he did a flawless job. I would definitely hire The Plumbing Therapist again.

Company was great from the start. Our appointment window was between 1:30-4pm, but Mike wasn't able to get to our house until close to 5pm. But they did a great job of calling me at work to give me the heads up. And Mike did call when he was on his way, and gave me approximate time of when to expect him, so I wasn't wasting my time waiting around the house. I originally purchased this home inspection because we were having water hammer, so thought it would be a great way to have someone check our home while figuring out how to reduce the noise with our pipes. Mike was very professional. There were some minor things to replace, but I never felt any pressure to have them come back and do the work. Instead, Mike said everything that needed to get done I can do myself and that I could easily find the parts at the local hardware store. He even pointed out that since we have Moen, which have a lifetime guarantee, we can get faucets replaced by just emailing them and sending pictures if there's any damage. Nice way to save some more money. Mike gave us some suggestion for our water hammer issues, such as adding gaskets/dampers to reduce the noise. He did say that it can get costly especially if we need to remove drywall, so we'll see if doing some of his suggestions will help. Mike said he'll send us a detail report of what he found in our house. We're just waiting for our detailed report. Overall very happy with the experience.
