We did a lot of research to find an HVAC contractor that we felt comfortable with, and fortunately, found Huft. Their bid wasn't as low as another contractor we liked almost as much, but they were willing to meet the other bid we received, so we hired them. They did a great job, finishing a complex installation in only 2 days. The were very organized and paid close attention to detail. Our ceiling beams are exposed, and all the duct work is visible, so the installation of the ducts had to be done perfectly, and it was. Overall, I don't think we could have had a better experience than we had with this installation. Huft was the final contractor that we needed to complete a 1000sq. ft. addition to our house, and working with them was one of the best experiences we had with any of the numerous contractors we worked with over the course of the construction of the addition.

We have been busy with many different kind of contractors lately and Huft has been the most professional, informed, and service oriented business that we have worked with in a very long time. Brian Huft went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that we had the perfect installation. The quality of work was awesome and the whole crew was extremely capable and extremely courteous and considerate.

I’m unhappy with them because they tried to pull a lot of upsell not only on my wife but also to other people I made a referral to. They tried to get a larger scope of work as what they were supposed to be doing. Their prices are a bit high. They try to sell you services that you may not need

The service people were very prompt and courteous. I am not sure if the problem has been totally fixed as my AC was blowing warm to hot air on several occasions. The last technician said it may be a faulty thermostat and to call them the next time I had a similar problem.

Upon arrival, the tech immediately donned gloves and booties so that he didn't mess up our carpet or ceiling. He spent an hour and a half inspecting every inch of our duct work, and even invited my husband to join him in the attic to see what he had found. He found a place where the duct had not been properly connected, which was causing a lot of the reduced airflow. He also brought up a number of other problems that could be reducing airflow, and gave us a quote for fixing those. Just what he did at the first appointment seems to have fixed our immediate problem, but we will definitely be calling them in the future for any HVAC needs. The tech was very knowledgeable and personable.

Huft was our third bid, and three was the charm. They offered the best price and offered a higher grade of equipment than other bidders. As for the install itself - it went just as planned. They arrived on time, were professional, and very clean. Our HVAC access is through the top of our master bathroom closet, and they left the area they worked perfectly clean. They also were careful to keep the front door closed to keep our housecats inside. The job was completed in one day - just as planned. A very good experience.

To illustrate my experience with Huft, i will mention another company (Company X) to give a frame of reference. My AC went out. I called the company that installed the heat/AC systems for my housing development, which i had used for previous inspecton and maintenance (this was not Huft). While I waited, I looked on Angie's list and saw that this Company X had an overall B grade; I was a bit uncomfortable given some of the negative reviews. Company X technician gave me an estimate of $997 to repair but said he wasn't sure it would get my system working or last for long. He had other very costly options as well as a recommendation for a new system. Another person had to come out to give me pricing for a new system so I made an appointment. I was unhappy that when making this appointment, they asked if i was the "decision maker"; believe me, I am not overly sensitive, but I am sure they would not have asked me this if I was a man. In the meantime, i went back on ANgie's List and looked at other companies. I found Huft, which had excellent reviews, so i called them and arranged for Ryan to come out. Ryan did a thorough review and gave me three options for a new system (i had already decided on a replacement). He gave me model numbers for the major equipment and explained the differences between each of them. He wrote everything down including cost. I still had the appointment for the other company so i was not ready to sign with Huft even though, i felt good about what I heard. Ryan was understanding and said he would wait to hear from me. He never asked if i was the "decision maker" so points to Huft for respecting that the customer interacting with them can make decisions. Company X came out the same afternoon and the experience was entirely different. I had to ask for the model numbers. Their prices for lesser equipment was much higher than Huft. They came close to Huft's price after applying their company rebates (these are not the SMUD and federal rebates that i would also get with Huft or any other company), but it felt like they overcharge then use rebates to make you feel like you are getting a good,deal. Either way, Company X's final cost after rebates for lesser equipment was higher than Huft's price for better equipment. Company X also wanted to charge me $1000 for a new refrigerant line that they said i needed but i didn't for my 4 ton system. As soon as they left, i called Ryan at Huft and said i wanted Huft to do the work. The only downside with Huft is that they are a smaller company so i had to wait a few days for the install, but I would rather wait for a company I trust and also get a better deal. The Huft workers for the install were punctual, tidy and respectful. I have a terrific new system that is much more efficient and quiet that my old system, and I have no "buyer's regret" for the purchase. If i had chosen Company X, I know I would have repeatedly questioned whether i had received a good deal and been treated fairly. With Huft, i have no regrets (and i hate spending money!) I plan to use Huft on a continuous basis from now on for periodic inspections and maintenance. This was a substantial investment, but if i am a responsible owner and use a reputable company like Huft, I'm sure that it will last for a very long time. My thanks to the Angie's List reviewers for helping me find Huft. I hope this review does the same for others looking for heating and air services.

Awesome all the way around. Estimator was early & very knowledgeable - more so than any other company we got quotes from we will likely us this company for service in the future.

The first floor AC system in our 2 story house went down in August during a hot streak. We checked Angie's list and called several "A" rated companies with a substantial number of reviews. Huft H&AC was able to get a tech out to us the quickest. The tech was Christopher, who diagnosed the problem and quoted a price for the replacement of the blower fan motor. The Huft tech's diagnosis was confirmed by a 2nd company. Since this was the second H&AC system we had in our home since we built it 33 years ago and both started to fail after approximately 16 years, we decided to get bids on replacing the system rather than starting to replace parts of it. We had 4 Angie list companies give bids (3 of them rated "A", including Huft, and one rated "B"). All 4 companies had a substantial number of reviews. All their reps were knowledgeable and professional; but some more detailed than others. However, none of them came close to the detail in its overall evaluation and knowledge to Huft's rep. Once again, Christopher was Huft's rep. When he was done crawling through our attic and sub-floor spaces, he knew the condition & volume of every duct, the requirements of the H&AC system in relation to our home space, the quality of our sheet metal connections, the state of our insulation and every other detail about our furnaces and AC's. Many of these important points were confirmed by other contractors; but certainly not all of them. And on some points there were conflicting recommendations between contractors. When we compared the bids, including price, warranties and the details of the analysis, we had no trouble choosing Huft. In fact, we decided to replace both systems (upstairs and downstairs) instead of just the first floor only. After observing all 4 company reps do their analysis with differing levels of detail, it became clear that the analysis always got much better in relation to the rep's willingness to get dirty and spend time crawling around the recesses of our attic and sub-floor crawl space. The more willing the rep was to get dirty and examine the inner recesses of our home, the better the analysis. The best one was clearly Christopher from Huft H&AC. We signed the contract with the understanding that Christopher would be involved in over seeing the installation, which lasted three days. There was a 3 man installation crew (in addition to Christopher) involved in the work on both levels. The work was extensive and very well done. All members of the crew were very polite and professional. We would definitely recommend Huft to others.

Huft came out in June and put freon with dye into our A-C system. A month later they returned and found the leak and replaced the coil.

The 3 people in which I dealt with where very professional. Arrived on time and after 8 hours full removal of old unit and install of a new unit was done. They also did this with a boxer puppy and 2 children under the age of 4 in the house. Never needed. Or asked for anything unless it was the bathroom and they all asked before use. Polite and respectful of are stuff. After unit was installed they cleaned up and even vacuumed all area in which they walk. That would be the house was vacuum. Was very happy with service performed.

Huft Heating & Air Conditioning Inc came out replace the capacitor in my A/C Unit. The guy who came was neat and clean. He was on time, he was nice, and he was professional. I had some questions and he gave me straight answers of what needed to be done and the cost.

My experience with them was very positive. I would use them again. They were on time, friendly, knowledgeable, and well trained. They did a good job. They were very professional when they were in the house. They took off their shoes and put on lower footies to keep the house clean. They are very neat and orderly where they conduct themselves. They did the job quickly. They didn't bumble around. I was happy with what they did.

We had purchased a home in Dec. 2011 and our home inspector advised us to have the HVAC inspected by a professional because the heating part looked very old and while it was still working, it was showing signs of getting ready to break down sometime soon. Our air conditioner was a little newer, but for some reason the electrical had fused into the outlet. We were advised not to use the A/C unit until a pro was able to first check it out and fix it. (We had an excellent home inspector, also from Angie's List.) In April of 2012, knowing we would soon need to use the A/C, we checked Angie's list, called two or three service providers and decided on HUFT. We had an excellent phone orientation with them where they answered all our questions. On the day of the service, they came, inspected the whole system thoroughly and gave us our options, informing us of the strengths and weaknesses of each option, giving us in the end their best advice. We ended up choosing their most expensive option, which in reality was the best option for us. We had already learned that our home warranty would not do anything unless the whole installation had been fully cleaned, and then they won't fix anything unless the system was in total failure. Then, we would have to keep struggling with it for years because as long as it worked, it would not be replaced (even if it cost us a high electricity bill.) So, we chose to upgrade to a brand new, energy-efficient, model for the price of $7,900. We did not have the cash available, but they were able to arrange low-interest financing for us with payments that fit our budget. HUFT did an excellent job taking out the old, cleaning up the mess, and installing the brand new HVAC. We saw an immediate drop in our electricity bill. The only thing left to do was the inspection. Huft prepared all the paper work and mailed it to us. Then I got very sick and was not able to follow through. But when I was better, after a whole year, I called Huft to rearrange for the inspection and find out what it would cost. They waited until I was ready for the expense and two months later they made the arrangements and the county came out and inspected the job. The work was approved. Every contact I've had with these people has been wonderful. Besides doing a great job, they have great customer service. I can recommend them to any one, without reservation.

James came to my house on the day of my appointment, after a call from their office announcing he's on the way, and I explained my situation. The A/C sytem is 9 years old, and this would be it's first check-up. It started making an abnormal noise this year from years past. He checked the electrical system, and hooked up his pressure gauges. I thought I might have been low on refrigerant. Started the unit, and James heard the noise. It sounds like a higher than normal vibration between metal parts. After 30 minutes of observing pressures, checking voltage and current, and checking the structual integrity, everything checked out. He also went into the attic to check the indoor coil and related equipment. The end result: old age. The outdoor cooling system works great, it is just noisier. I am very happy with the inspection/checks James performed, and feel much better knowing everything is in specifications. It was well worth the money.

We've use Huft in our primary home for seasonal service and were very happy with them. Our rental needed a new AC so we got estimates from Huft and two others. Huft was the most professional, courteous, thorough, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. The old unit was on the ground and we wanted the new one mounted on the roof. They were just a little late, but they worked hard and although they encountered a few small issues they got the job done by the end of the day.

They were a wonderful company to deal with and gave us many choices. They were very professional, courteous and friendly. They also installed a special filter to assist my husbands breathing at no additional charge. We are very pleased with the product, their work and would not hesitate to call them again.

It was all done by phone and e-mail contacts with Ryan and their great staff at the office. They did a before and after pictures of the ducting. It was finished on time. I did not hear anything negative from the renter and from the property manager. All I was told by my property manager that everything works and okay. They did not require a down payment and had a choice of paying it by credit card or I even mail a check. I love how they answer the phone and to hear their greetings "how can I make you smile today?" as it did helped me to calm down while looking for contractors in a hurry. They are very professional and friendly.

I chose Huft due to the positive rating in Angie's List. I was not disappointed. The great service started with the appointment phone call. The lady answered the call with a smile (at least it sounded like a smile to me) and asked me a few questing about my problem. The service call was made late in the afternoon on Monday and the service call was set for early morning Wednesday. On Wednesday morning I got a phone call from the office letting me know the service man was on the way. The service man, Christopher, arrived and started the diagnostic test to find out what was wrong with my air conditioner. The first thing he installed was a new thermostat. The old thermostat died about a week ago before the air conditioner stopped working. All of the voltages in the system were checked and two bad capacitors were located. One was totally gone and the other was working but only at about 60 percent. Christopher explained that I did not have to replace the functioning capacitor to get the system working again but I wanted it replaced. I was also adviised of the burned condition of the points in the compressor switch, I looked at the points and they were pitted like on a car. I had the switch replaced with a new switch that has the points fully enclosed with a lifetime warranty. The refrigerant was low so it was recharged and checked for leaks. The condenser coil was washed off with a hose. I was very pleased with the service so I signed up for a service club membership to have my heat and air checked each year. I would recommend Huft Heating and Air Conditioning without a doubt.

It was very easy making the appointment and they give you a reminder call the day before your service date. The tech, James, showed up right on time and told me what he'll be doing before he started the work. I was following him around while he did the checkups. Very nice person and didn't mind me following him and asking him lots of questions. Also very knowledgeable about what he was doing. Gave me some quotes and explained on the suggested services, but wasn't pushy at all. Would definitely use their service again.

Huft installed a Rheem heat pump/AC system for us the end of 2009. We were gone for a few hours this past Sunday, 6/16, and when we returned, our thermostat wasn't working and the AC wouldn't turn on. I called Huft that night, intending to leave a message that they would get the next morning, Monday. I left the message - then got a return call about fifteen minutes later! She said that they were pretty booked the next day but she would do her best to get someone out to check our system. I got a call around 8am the next morning and someone came to the house before 9:00. That's pretty good service! Turns out there was a blown fuse in the attic and fixing that fixed the thermostat problem and then the AC kicked back on. We pay $99 each year for a maintenance contract that gives us two maintenance checks a year. The technician went ahead and checked the AC unit since he was already there for the service call. We've been a little concerned that the outside unit seemed more noisy than we thought it should when it kicked on. The tech installed a hard start kit because he said the motor was starting a little slower than it should be and the kit would give it a little extra push so the motor would start as fast as it should. He said that most AC units end up with them within the first ten years and some units even come with them installed from the factory. Since he installed that kit, we haven't noticed the noise when the unit starts up. Before the tech left, I asked him about two of their other maintenance/service plans - where you pay a monthly fee and get the two maintenance calls a year plus discounts off of service calls and parts. I appreciated that he didn't try to up-sell me. He said that we didn't need either of the monthly plans because we had the two maintenance visits covered under the $99 yearly plan and we were also still under warranty for our unit. He said upgrading to a monthly plan would just be paying for something we were already getting. The whole service call cost us nothing. We will always use Huft Heating and Air for anything related to that. Their service is phenomenal. Everyone is polite - they even call you back on a weekend night. They take great care in keeping your house clean - the techs put on paper shoe protectors every single time they enter your house and they take them off every time they go outside. Plus they were honest in not selling me a monthly plan when I didn't need it.

They were very nice. Came out fast. Fixed the AC in one day. Showed us everything they were doing. I will call them again!

Huft came out and replaced the entire system. It only took them a few days to get everything taken care. They got a permit and took care of everything! I was even able to get the entire system financed. They were very personable and professional. Brian sat down with me and went through everything. The costs were high, but I was very thankful I had someone like Brian come out to help me with everything. He even brought out a portable heater so we didn't freeze over night! They are outstanding! I highly recommend them!
