It was excellent! I chose them over Bell because Bell had a couple of negatives on Angie's List but they said it was resolved, but nevertheless, they had several negatives. Huft was very responsive, they came out, and they did an excellent job. I am very satisfied. They were excellent! He came out and I knew he was wonderful. He kept in constant contact with me, he came by, and we went through the paperwork and everything, and he was able to get a funding for me through SMUD. The heating system cost me almost $8,000. They contacted SMUD because they were the ones that I got the system through. They took care of everything, paperwork, and what kind I needed. They had to get a big hauling thing to take my system out and replace the other system. I looked out there and I saw this great big truck. They had to lift it up and it was kind of scary. I got the financing through SMUD, and it worked out fine. I said I couldn't afford that and they said they do finances through SMUD. I know everything is going to be great because SMUD has 13 criteria and everything that we have to comply with. It's working just fine because now I'm very cool in the summer and the heating was great during the winter time. I'm very satisfied. It only took them a couple of weeks because it was during the winter time and I didn't have any heat. I told them I was turning my oven on. He told me not to do that and in fact, he gave me a little portable heater. He said I can just use that so I went out and got another one and used it for my family room because that is where we spend the most time. That was just wonderful! They were outstanding.

I called the company after my air conditioner stopped working on June 15th. I was lucky enough to get an appointment for 6/18. The company gave me an appointment and confirmed it by email. The repairman came a little late because the job he was working on took a little longer than expected. I received a call from the office to alert me that he would be a little late. He was not very late. .He was very polite and went to work on the air conditioner right away. He checked out the machine and found the problem. He explained everything to me as he was checking it. I was looking out my window as he worked. He answered all my questions and discussed the problem and the cost to repair it before he repaired it. I was very happy with the repairman. He checked the furnace and all the vents inside the house to be sure they were working correctly. I am a disabled senior who could not change the light bulb that was out in the hallway in front of the furnace. He was so nice that he changed the bulb for me. I highly recommend this company and I shall always use them if the need arises. What a pleasant experience!

James arranged the schedule so that they could put the A/C in right away due to the heat. Now they have come back to put in the furnace and duct work. They did such a great job.

Huft came out within an hour of calling on a Saturday Evening (~7:30) and fixed the AC. Blown capacitor. Very professional and would def use again.

We love they way they handled everything, beginning to end and love our new quieter, more efficient A/C. We are recommending them to a friend who needs to replace their old unit. I am glad we had this done before the hot summer set in. We wanted our condenser to be moved to the other end of the house and they made that happen in the plan and scope of the work. Entirely pleased that they were able to do this through the Y-grene program so that we will be getting big income tax savings over the next several years, which will help pay for the unit.

Of course during 100 degree weather my air conditioner broke. I contacted 5 companies for interviews know I needed a new unit. Mine was over 20 years old and had been fixed multiply times. I researched what I needed to know about putting in a new Air Conditioner, I had a list of questions and I got quotes from 5 companies. I had specific things I needed addressed with the flow of air in my house. Once company suggested we just put new registers in and that would increase the air flow to that room. It was only Huft that really listened to what I needed and addressed the issues. Ryan, spent a lot of time with me and did a lot of inspection on the room and the flow of the house and calculations to get the right size unit that we needed. One company just wanted to know how much money I wanted to save on my bills and that's how he would give me a quote for my size of unit that we needed. These were companies that we listed with A ratings on Angies List. I truly feel like the whole company are good people. They were right on top of the job and getting the financial paperwork taken care of. The installers were great. Very respectful of my family and our home. They worked very hard in 100 degree weather and never complained and worked very long continuous hours. I trusted the men in my home even when I was not there, which is not easy to do. Thank you Kai, Kevin and Rick. The price was very similar to other companies, much better then some or comparable to others. But its not always about the best price but for me it was about getting a good quality job done, and for a fair price. But I will say, out of all the companies they had one of the best prices. The company followed up with me on my system and answered my questions which I had even after the install. They recently came and did a tune up that was included in the new install and Huft actually called me to remind me that we needed to schedule it. I cannot say enough positive things about Huft and I have recommended them to several people. Do the research before you do something as huge as putting in a new Air Conditioner. I read a lot of reviews and got some good tips on things to ask and what to look for. I also did a lot of research on the internet so that I could be prepared and Huft lived up to all that I had needed and learned about.

When work was completed, the tech explained fully what he found, the work that he performed and gave me a full assessment of the current working health of my Hvac unit. He was friendly, helpful, informative and answered all my questions. When discussing the age of my unit and my concerns of how long it might last, he recommended for my consideration, some repairs/replacements as alternatives to replacing the unit and to perhaps extend the life of my existing unit. I would definitely use this company again and have again renewed my club membership. Great company!

They came for several occasions. They didn’t have the parts that they needed. Every time they showed up, they were punctual and called again. It could be coincidence. It’s seems we have trouble with my system after they had been here previously. It could have been that it just worn out but they said they checked everything before and it was fine. Then, the day when they showed up nothing was working properly. There was no charge because they put me on a special program for clean out and check up. I had paid previously for this. I get the feeling that I was ripped off but I don’t have anything substantial to prove that to be true. The technician was very friendly. Nothing that I can put my finger on but I am going to shop around price-wise because of the part that they’re telling me that they are going to replace to get on with this program.

Last August, Huft serviced our air conditioner which was not performing well. After a tune-up was done by James, he advised us to get a new AC, rather than trying to fix it with no guarantee the improved performance would last long. With James? help, we decided the best option was to get a whole new system, since this unit was at least 15 years old. All went reasonably smooth and I signed the purchase order. I later found out that we did not get clear information on how to deal with paperwork, the rebate and required inspection processes. I texted James and asked for him to call me. He texted back instead but I never received a clear and informative response. These are instances were verbal communication is better than a bunch of cryptic texts. I called the office and got my information from the owner?s wife and was also reassured that I would get my Smud rebate without having to wait for city inspection to be done. A list of instructions sent by the owner also cleared up some of our confusion. Since the install went well and satisfactorily, I decided to leave it at that, but another matter just came up as a result of incomplete information. I bought a yearly club membership plan when I had the old AC serviced. I was told that it was cheaper to get it than pay for a straight service visit. The membership had maintenance plans with different options but there is no written documentation about it. So verbal explanation should have been clear for the customer to properly understand, and preferably written down for the customer to remember. I did not seem to have been fully informed because it resulted in my not knowing what was going on when a few weeks ago I received a call that we have a tune-up coming to us, as part of my membership that was not expired yet. I ended up getting a tune-up for the heater a mere 5 months after purchase (lucky for me, I had already paid for it) especially when I just started using it in November, when the cold weather started (as it usually does here). I was also told that a tune-up was due in summer for the AC, for which I had to renew my club membership! However, the purchase agreement included a one-year maintenance agreement (as I expected) but now I don?t know if that is the same as the tune-ups for which I have to pay separately? Another indication of communication gap between Huft and customer. I initially didn?t want to send in a review, since I had mixed feelings about the service we received. The install was fine, and the unit works well as of now. But there is no open communication channel between the representatives and me. I was not given the opportunity to repeat any information back to them to ensure that I understood correctly (which obviously I did not). And last, we had the proverbial feeling that, since we paid in cash, the company felt we did not need special attention anymore. Therefore, my husband and I decided to have another company replace our HVAC system. And by the way, they did a complementary ?tune-up? a few months later, to check if minor adjustments needed to be made after first use.

I think it went well :) I was given a window of 12p-2p, and he showed up at 130p. I (mistakenly) thought the window was for service, not for arrival time (actually service lasted until round 4pm.) This is more my fault for not understanding, but it would have been nice to have that clear. I was given two options 12-2 and 2-4, and I think (strictly from a PR perspective) if they gave me the 2-4 window and showed up early, might have looked better for them. This has nothing to do w/the quality of their work, which I believe, to be outstanding. Their technician's customer service skill is top-notch. He answered every pestering question I had, and was infinitely patient, and very clear in his explanations. I appreciated the time he took to explain it all. He was clear in the work he did, and the work he both recommended and suggested against. He explained what work was worth having done or might be needed soon, vs work that is probably not worth the money or isn't needed any time soon. He laid out all my options and choices, explained them all.

It?s been six months since the install. The new unit works very well and the ductwork reconfiguration distributes heat and air more evenly through the house. Excellent job. Their office even scheduled the inspection for us. We've been using Huft's services for many years and highly recommend them.

n mSurprise they came out on a Saturday with no extra charge. I called around 9a and they were out here around 12.45p which I thought was pretty good for a Saturday. Tech explained what the problem was and also assisted in asking some questions regarding my thermostat. He was done in about 1.15hr which was good. Overall it was a good experience and tech was pleasant and worn his footgear so not to dirty my carpet. I also received a 20.00 discount for being an Angie member.
