Martin Electric

Mr. Martin arrived on time and completed the work in a very timely manner. I was most impressed with how nice it looked and how clean everything was left. Typically, when we've had any electrical work done, I always find little plastic pieces and copper wire pieces scattered around. Not a one when Bill was done. I would hire him again anyway.

From the first call to the completed service. All went well. I purchased 4 cans of recessed lighting for my master bedroom. I also decided i wanted a new ceiling fan installed, as well as an auto-on light switch installed in my garage. All went well, and only took about 4 hours total... Having the auto-on switch in the garage makes life much easier... every time i enter the garage the light automatically turns on... very convenient.

Came on time, did the lights no mess I would recommend Martin to my friends. Thanks for job well done. ,

We were very impressed with Martin Electric. We worked with Brennen Martin, who occasionally consulted with his father, Bill, regarding our project. Brennan was very professional and prompt, staying in close communication with us throughout the project and listening to our requests. We wanted to wire up and supply electricity to an outbuilding on our property, but wanted to make sure that it was done properly and with the proper permits. The first electrician that we talked to was someone who we had worked with before, but had been increasingly difficult to contact. The second electrical company seemed promising, but they performed outright shoddy work (wiring the outbuilding, but not very well) and tried to talk us out of getting a permit for the work (definitely a red flag). That's when we signed up for Angie's list and found Martin Electric. Brennen was happy to fix the bad wiring job (and it looks much better now) and happy to get permits for the whole project. Everything was completed in a timely fashion and we're very pleased with the results. We would definitely use Martin Electric again!

Bill wasn't able to make it out for the first two appointments due to traffic from Del Mar, where he had another job. For the third appointment, he arrived on time and installed the line from the panel. across the garage to an upstairs loft. Bill is very friendly, professional and did excellent work at a very reasonable price. We were very satisfied and will have him back out to run a line out to our fountain in the back.

He tracked down where the problem was coming from. The problem was in a ceiling fixture in another room. He charged me only what was quoted. He stayed until the job was done. He was able to repair the wires in that one visit. He was prompt, I was particularly thankful he came the same day. I plan to use him again to install a plug outside.

It went fine. A good experience.

Very Good. Bill came and looked at the ceiling fan first and diagnosed the problem. We had to order a new part and when it came in he fixed it. Our favorite celing fan is working great. The extractor in our bathroom went out he replaced a part/motor also and it works fine again. We were very pleased with the service he rendered for both items and we have plans to hire him again in the neare future for some electrical work on an area in the house.

We were looking for an electrician to install an outlet near the ceiling of the garage, for a garage door opener We searched Angie's list and after review, found Martin Electric. We called, and left a message which was returned the same day. An appointment was made to receive an estimate. Brennan arrived on time. We showed him where the outlet needed to be, discussed how it would be done. He gave us an estimate which seemed fair. ($150 less 10% discount for Angie's list = $135). This was acceptable to us. When we asked when the work could be done, he said now and it would only take about an hour! How refreshing. While Brennen was working, we remembered we had another little question downstairs. He gave us an estimate for what it would be to correct it. Also advised us on a code that was applicable, but unknown to us. Back to the garage, he found the source outlet had been installed incorrectly. He corrected it, then ran wire up the wall, along a beam to the new outlet which was installed exactly where we wanted. His work was clean, and the wire was neatly secured. He cleaned up and completed the job within the hour. We were impressed with his knowledge and the quality of his work. Would definitely hire again!

Bill responded to my call for service right away and scheduled a time to meet my wife since I was not available. On arrival he found a tripped circuit breaker that was not noticed and reset it to restore the outlets. Bill did not charge my wife for his services due to the simplicity of the fix. I called Bill to thank him and sent him a check for $50.

We had an exceptional experience with Mr. Martin. We initially called him because we thought we had problems at our breaker box. As we explained our situation, he asked us to do certain things here at our home, He actually waited on the phone while we did as he instructed. It turned out he was correct, and the breaker box issue was solved. This was the first time we had used Martin Electric and he did not know us, but he took his time to walk us through the process. In the meantime, we needed our entertainment center to be rewired, and one outside light fixed. All the work he performed for us was exceptional, timely and the cost was very fair. We would not only recommend him to others, but we now have a new electrician. He is very knowledgeable, professional and polite. We will use his company in the future.

Before Bill's arrival the electricity went back on but I still wanted to find the source of the problem to prevent future electricity failure. When Bill arrived he first had to make friends with my overly protective dog. He checked the circuit box and electrical plugs/switches and re-tighten the wires. If it happens again I will call Bill to troubleshoot the problem. .

I called on Monday morning and Bill, the owner, came out that same morning. My house was built in the 1950's and many of the outlets are still two pronged. He assessed the work I wanted done and he gave me an estimate on the parts and materials. He recommended GFI outlets near water installations for safety and for resale value of the house; each GFI outlet costs $60 in parts and labor and I had 3 put in so that was a big part of the cost for today's work. Bill also tested the outlets that I thought were already grounded and have 3 prong openings but these outlets were not grounded properly by the prior owners. We also discussed other work I will need done in the future including ceiling fans and adding new outlets. His son, Brennen, met us at my home, and he did the work. He put in the new GFI outlets, two in the kitchen and one in a bathroom. He removed and replaced the 5 two-prong outlets with new grounded outlets, and he installed an outlet for a dishwasher ($75.). He also went up into the attic to see if they will be able to drop lines down for the new outlets I will eventually want installed. Bill also told me of websites to check for the new lighting and fan fixtures that I want installed. Both Bill and Brennen were professional, did complete jobs, and provided good information for me. They also gave me 10% discount for being an Angies List member.

I made an appointment with Bill two weeks in advance. On the day of the appointment, I had to call him--he didn't write the time down or something. Anyway, he looked at my garage outlets and did not find anything wrong. It turns out that the appliance that I had plugged in was faulty. Bill checked the other outlets and changed out one that he thought would probably give me problems in the future. He was very cordial and very helpful. He also was very kind in not saying anything about my mistake thinking that it was an electric problem rather than with the faulty appliance.

I called Bill to get a quote everyother electrician kept wanting to talk to my Male roommate even after he pointed them my way and told them I own the house, but but Bill did not He talked to me Gave me a good price and didn't try to charge me for things that didn't need to be done. so after recieving my quotes I call and hired Bill. At the Time I was at home recovering from Surgery He and his crew were on time and quite. They completed the work in a timely manner and cleaned up after themselves. I would hire Bill Again

I called Bill and left a message. He returned my call with a set time and date. He called later to see if he could come later for an estimate to install a 30amp for my 220V outlet for the electric dryer. He gave me the estimate and I am just waiting for others before I decide. Bill was very professional and on time. Thanks for your help.

I called Bill on a Tuesday and set up an appointment for 4:00 on Thursday. I called back on Wednesday and asked if he could come earlier in the day on Thursday and he came at 0800. He arrived promply at 0800.What should have been an easy job turned into a difficult problem because of the location of the furnace in the attic right above where the electrical cables needed to be ran. Bill came up with several creative options on the spot, we discussed it, and he got the job done. Seriously professional, super friendly, put down down drop cloths in his work area, offered to remove his shoes when he saw I had carpet (serious pet peeve of mine!), and an all around perfect experience. He even did two on the spot jobs that I came up with while he was here! I highly recommend Bill and I will definitely use his services again if I need any electrical work done in my house.

I contacted Mr. Martin to request a bid for repair of an electrical panel at home I am in the process of purchasing. My phone call went to voicemail. I left a detailed message including my name, phone number (twice) and nature of project. This was on November 5, 2012, as of November 12, 2012, still no return call. Later in the day on November 5, 2012 I contacted Shea Electric, another highly rated electrician on Angie's list. He answered his phone and scheduled a time to meet with me regarding the project that evening. He promptly sent his bid the next day and was available to my real estate agent with questions about the work. I intend to use Shea Electric to make the repairs to the panel once I close the purchase of the home later this month. UPDATE: I received a call from Bill Martin on November 13, 2012 following up on my phone call an my review. Bill was very professional and appologized for not getting returning my call sooner. He explained the situation that prevented him from returning my call sooner. I appreciate the fact that Bill contacted me to address this situation. I adjusted the ratings to reflect my conversation with Bill.

We were experiencing electrical problems and the breaker kept on clicking off due to a short. Bill found the approximate location of the short which was not accessible. We were able to make am informed decision on how to proceed and Bill was very honest , informative as well as professional. We would definitely use his services again.

We have had Bill Martin do all of the electrical work at our house and have been very pleased with it. He is always very prompt calling us back and coming out for estimates.
