 + -1 moreArt retiled my shower surround after I had another provider remove and install a tub in the space. This included hanging hardibacker. He used my supplied tiles and grout, though he didn't like the grout I got because it was overkill and hard to work with on a wall. I took note but I like Spectra lock so we went ahead with it. He did a good job, only took him 3 days. The tiles are even and well spaced. Though he had another job scheduled for the day after he finished so I feel like he rushed a few things. I had to go back and remove the grout haze the next day. He did cause some wall damage with screws when hanging the hardibacker, and there is one spot where the grout is incomplete. However all of these things were relatively minor so I fixed them myself. Overall I am pleased with the work he did and would use him again.

 + -1 moreArt was most cooperative in responding to change of dates due to tenants schedule. I would recommend him for any remodeling, tile work or any area where he has expertise. I had a prior quote from another contractor that was essentially the same, $700 including tile, but decided to go with Angies's List and Art of Amador Tile. When I was at Home Depot purchasing the tile with the dimensions given to me by Art, I had a question about which I was unsure so the salesperson could not answer. I called Art, he was available to respond, spoke to the salesperson and solved my problem-now that's Service.
Description of Work: Art of Amador Tile replaced a bathroom floor for a duplex property and provided excellent service. He was very responsive to all questions and available with expert information in terms of tile selection, etc. He was extremely helpful in taking the time before the scheduled install date to inspect the property and inform me of the ext ent of the damage. He responded quickly to telephone calls and e-mails. He is pleasant, amiable, and highly professional. My review of the completed job found ti to excellent. Art was respectful of the tenant''s privacy and worked carefully to keep his work area clean and not be disruptive to the tenants. I have been a member of Angie's List since the service was first available in the San Francisco/San Jose Bay Area and have never been disappointed with the contractors recommended -Art was a welcome addition to that experience.

 + -1 moreHe was on time and he went right to work. I had bought some grouting material and he said that would work perfectly and redid the whole thing for me. Some of the tiles had come off and he replaced those with the grouting. He didn't waste any time which was nice and he gave me an idea of some cleaning products that would help get rid of some stuff that build up on my shower.
Description of Work: I needed a tub recocked all the way around inside and on the bottom and Amador Tile fixed that all for me. They also came in and tighten up some faucet and things for me.

 + -1 morePrompt set up of the visit and showed up at that time. Unfortunately I had not read the fine print in the offer, which said I was to provide any caulk other than standard white. So while they were prepping the various areas (removing old caulk etc) I rushed to Home Depot to get the coloured caulk we needed. Unfortunately that turned out to be low quality stuff that promptly washed away with first use of the repaired areas. To their credit, because this was not their fault, they came back free of charge to fix it with a better caulk that I bought later. And that work has held up perfectly. As a team the two folks doing the work were prompt, cheerful and polite, and clearly knew their stuff. So overall a great experience. But beware the fine print and make sure you have all the right materials ready to go if needed!
Description of Work: Needed to fix some badly worn or eroded caulk in 3 bathrooms. so I purchased a couple of hours worth of re-grouting and caulking work via a Daily Deal on Angie's list.

 + -1 moreGenerally, very well. The lines of caulk were sharp and clean. My synthetic whirlpool-type tub was not damaged during the removal of the old caulk which is only possible when it is done very carefully. My only issue is that now, 3 months later despite the fact that I dry the tile and caulk/edge of tub after every use, it is already beginning to show mildew behind the caulk line every single place the vertical tile grout line intersects it. When I did it myself in the past, it took over a year to occur, so I am not sure why it is happening.
Description of Work: Old caulk was removed and replaced on one tub and one shower base.

 + -1 moreThe first time they came out they cleaned out the old caulk and the resulting mess, and applied the new caulk very neatly. However, while it was white going on, the caulk dried clear. I called them back when the color became apparent, and they apologized for having used the wrong caulk. They came back out about a week later, removed the clear caulk, and recaulked with white. I would have been very happy with the work, but the callback necessarily dampened my enthusiasm. I plan to try them again for some tile maintenance work I need done.

 + -1 moreInitially we did not like him, because he re-scheduled before we were supposed to have the service done. He came over and did a good job. We were happy with it and then after 3 days we noticed that the caulking was coming undone. We waited about 2 weeks called him, he came back and re-did it, and it still looks good. We are happy.

Description of Work: I bought an Angie's list special offer for $99 for 2 hours of caulking. Art of Amador Tile ended up having to work around my schedule - he kept in touch by phone and we eventually set up a time for the work - he was on time and did a perfect job of removing old caulking and replacing it with a fresh even line of caulking in my showers and around the bathroom sinks. He was very pleasant, professional and friendly. Mentioned that he remodels bathrooms, kitchens, etc. - he did not try to sell me more services, but I would consider employing him if and when I have a need.

 + -1 moreArt called me and set up an appointment and he arrived when he said he would arrive. He recaulked places in two bathrooms and it took about an hour and a half. He left the bathrooms as though no one had been working there...everything was neat and clean. His workmanship was excellent! The areas in the bathrooms look great. He instructed me on the use of the bathrooms, what to do and what not to do. Overall, it was an excellent job and I would definitely use him again and refer him to friends.

 + -1 moreVery well. I received 2 calls from him asking when he could come out to perform the service; this was impressive as I often allow these purchases to expire without use. He was flexible, notified me of the arrival time and called when he was running later than originally expected. They came will everything required in one trip into the house. They cleaned up after themselves, were respectful (didn't have to listen to whistling, loud talking or yelling like so many others) and did a more thorough job than I expected. I would use him again in a heart beat.

Description of Work: The bathtub caulking was removed and replaced with a much smaller bead. It looks a lot nicer. The kitchen sink was also done, but it is not quite as perfect. I am not sure why. I think the gentalman was feeling rushed because the tub too much longer then expected.

 + -1 moreSince no actual grout was replaced, the job was relatively easy, went well, and was completed without any problems or delays.
Description of Work: The grout around my ceramic sink beneath my tile counter was no longer smooth and leaked water. Since no major sections had become loose, a simple sealing with silastic was done. It is now leak-tight. My tile shower also had some missing areas of grout, but nothing very large. It too was sealed with silastic. The entire job was completed in slightly over one hour.
