Amador Tile

He was excellent and was very punctual. He drew out plans for me and he did and immaculate job. I am picky and I would highly recommend him. I would definitely use him again.

I had an amazing experience working with Art Amador for our small bathroom tiling job. Where do I start? He had very competitive prices, was able to fit us into his schedule early, and he worked his tail off until the job was done. Art is not a plumber, but he was able to recommend one for us and he coordinated perfectly with him. Art had a lot of great ideas on how to lay out the tile, and his workmanship was superb. The tiles were level, gaps were consistent, and everything looked very high-end. When small things arose, he didn't try to nickel-and-dime me for more money, but just stayed late to get the job done. I highly recommend Art for whatever tile work you have.

Great referral. They helped me with my tile leak and replaced them, they did it in a professional manner and timely. The workers were great.

Art is about half done. The 2 bathroom floors and tub surround are completed. The fireplace is currently being installed. As I have told my friends, the completed work is very good and the fireplace is going to be..."A work of Art!". It looks fabulous so far. I have had 4 tile projects over the course of the last 20 years. What sets Art apart is is his professionalism and conscientious work ethic. He shows up daily as per our agreed schedule. He works a full day each day. Performs very efficiently. Doesn't waste material. He is also very good at bringing up any issues or questions on a daily basis. He makes suggestions on how the tile installation can be improved. Many times I'm a bit anxious when I have contractors in the house working, and with Art, I am at ease since I am very confident in his expertise as the work so far has been excellent. I cannot say enough good about him.

We're pretty happy with Art's work. I do think Art could take a little more time to explain the differences between different approaches in terms of aesthetics--but I like that he is a straight shooter and does good work

Art is a true professional. His goal is to provide you with an end product that you will love. Art is very meticulous with regard to all aspects of the job, which my wife and I can appreciate. Art was very considerate about our time, showing up when he said, cleaning the job site each night, and communicating with us regarding the plans for the next day. Art was in constant communication with us regarding the different stages of the job and made sure we knew about any major decision before he started the next step. If you want someone who cares about what you want, excels in every aspect of his job, is on time, and is available to answer any question you may have, then Art is the guy for your job. We will never hire anyone else for any of our future tile projects.

It went very well. Art is professional, he knows his job, was prompt, clean and thorough and cared about what he was doing in all aspects of the job. Why I am not giving him an A is only because when he installed the marble in the 1/2 bath, he could not completely remove the grout or the glue that got on some of the marble tiles. He did try very hard to remove it and in turn, used some sort of scrubber that ended up scratching the middle tile (of all places). I tried later in the evening myself to remove the grout/glue, but could not. He did try various times and did offer to remove and replace the scratched tile, but I didn't want to take a chance. You can't really see it, but I can and it still looks beautiful. The porcelain tile is perfect. I am speculating he didn't have a whole lot of experience with marble, but my job did provide to him and to anyone else who would want it installed by him. I also found, that in looking for someone to complete my job, two installers did not want to work with marble. One was trying to talk me out of it and instead install porcelain. I think marble is a difficult installation. I would definitely hire Art again.

Art installed tile over an existing porch. Art did a wonderful job and the porch looks great. He recommended some tile stores and let us know what was needed. I think the job was more difficult than expected, but he did it graciously and made a second trip to finish the work. Art arrived when scheduled and I could not be happier with the outcome. I would not hesitate to recommend Art to do any of your tile and stone work.

Art started the work when he said he would and finished on time as well. He always kept the work area clean. Overall I am satisfied, but there were a few minor issues. There is a gap in between one set of tiles and another, and one of the tile bullnoses got chipped during or shortly after installation, I'm not sure. It's a small chip but it's in a prominent location. These issues don't bother me me much however. Overall I'm satisfied.

The work came out excellent and aligned with wife's vision.

All work was done per contract and we are very satisfied with the results.

Art responded to my message by informing he was 2 months booked in advance. He asked me for my service location. I informed him the property was in SF. His Angie's list profile business shows he services the following locations: "Alameda, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, & portions of Contra Costa & Marin Counties " . However, he responded "I don't go to SF." It would be nice if this contractor updates his profile information. I left to 2 voicemail messages, and email thinking he services SF as shown on his profile.

I cannot say enough good about Art. He installed tile which looks like hardwood in our master bedroom. He came out to bid our job was on time and gave us our bid in a timely fashion. He worked extremely h****** our floor and did more than most installers would do as our house is a concrete slab and he had to fill a crack and level the floor on one side. Our floor looks great, we could not be happier!! Another aspect we loved about Art is he does his own work, he was on time, did a great job and the pricing was very fair. He did such a great job he is doing our other 2 bedrooms in November with the same tile. Thank you Art for doing a fantastic job!!

Art was professional, on time and incredibly thorough. The job took about a week to complete and by the time it was done, my family felt incredibly comfortable having him around. We'll be using him again hopefully soon.

We have a small bathroom that needed to be retiled and have a new new toilet installed, and Art did all of this with creativity, incredible workmanship and commendable attention to detail. He was able to adjust his plans based on the condition of our existing floor (and lack of sub-floor) and quickly respond to any potential problem. In the end, he created a floor that is durable and beautiful. And he even took special care to install and seal the toilet so that it too will last for a long long time. Overall, we were ecstatic with the job Art did for us.

It was a most unpleasant exchange to say the lest.

He was professional, punctual, and skilled. He worked very hard, and was honest with me about some of the challenges encountered due to the age of my home. He is great!

Art is simply the best: absolute perfectionist for his work, highly knowledgeable with practical helpful advice and suggestions, always extra effort and skillful in solving job hurdles and very easy to work with. He has done a number of flooring and kitchen jobs for us - we always come back to him. All his years of experience shine thru - simply the BEST.

Art was fantastic to work with. He showed up every day right on time and cleaned up every night when he left. There were a couple of things that my husband had not done and the walls were not completely level but Art fixed and finished everything as he just wanted to ensure we were happy with the work. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Given the few extra things he had to do and some weepy grout he had to come back two additional days but seemed more than happy to do that. I was never made to feel like our job was an inconvenience and I really appreciated that. I will definitely use Art again on future tile projects.

Art is a very friendly guy, and showed up when he said he would show up. We had some delays with other things in our remodel, which I imagine is quite normal. Art completed about 90% of the work and let us know he couldn't finish the last bit. This was really disappointing and left us scrambling to find someone to help us finish. There were also some tile cut choices that I don't think illustrated the attention to detail I would expect... but this is minor compared to leaving us hanging. Because of this, I would not hire him again or recommend him.

Art is friendly and professional but being first-time re-modelers there was a lot we were unprepared for. We at first intended to redo our Master Shower since the picture in the offer exactly matched our current set up. However, we were informed that the offer was for a "standard shower/tub enclosure" so we opted to have our kids' shower done instead. We didn't get much guidance on the tile to be used and given the measurements we were provided ended up with an entire extra unopened box of tile, plus another half box, which was non-returnable. I'd expect some extra to account for breakage and the fact that you generally have to buy tile by the entire box, but 1+ boxes seems excessive (and wasteful). (As a side note: Geri @ Bedrosian Tile in South SF was FANTASTIC!). While the bath was demo'ed, we also wanted to upgrade the fixtures from older 2-handle to a single-handle set. We separately arranged for a plumber to do his thing, but since the tile hadn't been put up I ended up having to mount all of the new fixtures myself once the tiling was finished. But, after all, we are very pleased with new, modern shower for our kids. We opted for newer features, such as inlaid glass accents and inset soap shelves. I feel Art may not be the best option for the uninitiated to remodeling jobs. If you have experience with remodels or are working with a general contractor, Art does fantastic work.

Art did a great job and was patient with his good work. It took longer than expected, but it's worthy of the time. I appreciated that his attention to details and some artistic touch on helping the tile arrangement. We would hire him again when we are ready to do the next project at his convenience.
