Hello, my name is Jose Miranda. I am a 16 year experienced electrician, 13 of those years I spent in new construction. My task in new construction started as a journeyman boxing, layout, wiring/roping, roughing, trimming, after about 6 years I became site foreman. As Forman I kept all work on schedule, dealt with inspections, ordered material for 3 job sites, edited time cards, Etc. 3 years of the 16 I spent helping customers like yourself in bringing their ideas to life, such as remodeling, recessed light installations, ceiling fan installation, outlet installation, EV charger installation, exhaust fan installation, panel swap, Christmas lights installation, generator, transfer switch, deck lighting, etc. My main focus is customer service and quality work. All homes are treated as Id want my home to be treated. In doing so all shortcuts are avoided. All projects matter to my team and I, The biggest project is as important to us as the smallest. The year was 1950, on the heels of the second world war Jack Lavine, a young entrepreneur and heating and air conditioning craftsman opened Lavine & Co., a heating company in Oakland California with a dream and a passion for serving his community. Just a few years later, halfway across the country in the small town of Bessemer, Bob Broman opened Blue Flame Heating with the same dream, drive and passion to help his community thrive in the bitter cold of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. While Bob continued as the owner/operator of Blue Flame Heating until his retirement in 2005, Jack partnered with Norm Kay to help grow his business. Lavine & Co. grew, but slower than they wanted, so they brought in some “fresh blood”, Norm’s son Dale to accelerate growth. With Lavine & Co. growing into a leader in the Oakland heating market, Dale quickly realized he needed more help. In 1998 he brought on his niece Jacque Santos. Jacque and Dale led Lavine’s to over a decade of prosperity, until 2009 when they opted for a better lifestyle in the Central Valley. In 2009 Honey's. was born. Jacque and Dale opened Honey's. with the same goals Bob Broman and Jack Lavine had – to serve their community and neighbors. In 2014 Dale was ready to focus on his family, so he invited Ray Broman (Bob Broman’s Grandson) to purchase his portion of Honey's. Using the training and tools Ray had acquired in his 15 years in the HVAC industry, and the absolute best co-workers, Ray and Jacque grew Honey's Air, Inc. into the premier home services provider in the Central Valley. Today Honey's Air, Inc. boasts a large team of many employees, including Ray’s wife, son and daughter, along with Jacque’s father, uncle and son. We have adopted and embraced the “No Stinger Promise”, our unique offer in the market.

"It was my fault that decided to install the solar system with Honey's air solar.jest because of good reviews web.I didn't expect them to have no experience , every city follows the law of installation . From the beginning to decision to installation was made in January 20022. As result task completed at the end of October 2022. It was irresponsible for the workers to find the installation. made holes or sabotage for the wall. multiple times with the installation manager via email and phone. promise it will fix . Now say that's it. not taking responsibility. Maybe the company specialized heating or air condition not solar."

"This review is based on service after he left and was suppose to come back. To be fair his service for the day was great and no complaints except for cord length on dryer he bought . Seth came to my house to move 2 electric plugs over about 3 ft. One of the plugs was for a dryer which he told me he needed to buy a new cord and install a 4 plug instead of the current 3 plug. The new cord he put in was too short and was stretched out hanging mid air. I told him the cord was too short and he stated he would swap it out after his vacation as he was leaving for a week. I told him that was fine. while he was gone I text him to let him know I had a oven plug I needed installed also so I wanted to let him know so he could plan to do both on the same day. He did not respond back which was fine as I knew he was on vacation. I expected to hear from him when he got back . last l spoke to him it was August 26th. It is now Sept 23rd. I have text his work number twice, emailed him twice, left 2 phone messages and text his personal number. no response on any of them. I made it clear if he didn't have time to please let me know either way. still no response. I now have to pay another electrician to buy a new cord and install it after I already paid Seth $700.00. He was very professional and nice but his lack of response is very disappointing and unprofessional. I would have recommended him highly but anyone that can't take a few seconds to respond back and doesn't keep his word about coming back and fixing something he's been paid for isn't worth it. I always try to treat others how I would expect to be treated and I always hope others would do the same but unfortunately that is not the case with Switched Electric."

Generator installations FAQs

Installing a whole-house generator costs about $5,000 on average. Prices range from $1,550 to $8,500, depending on size, brand, fuel type, and assembly. The size of your whole-house generator is the most significant cost factor, with large homes with high energy demands costing the most to power. Types of whole-home generators include:

  • Portable generators with 1kW–7.5kW capacity: $500–$2,000

  • Partial generators with 9kW–20kW capacity: $2,000–$6,300

  • Whole-house generators with 22kW–48kW: $5,000–$18,000

When maintained properly, a whole-house generator can last up to 20 years. Costs to maintain and repair generators vary by location and type of generator, but you can expect to pay about $150 to $300 per year for annual generator maintenance checks. An experienced generator service technician will inspect your generator’s engine filter, starting mechanism, fuel, lubrication, and coolant levels to keep your generator in good working condition for as long as possible.

When choosing the right size generator for your needs, consider a few items to help calculate the wattage you’ll need. Start by determining which household items and appliances you want to power, and then add the wattages together. Check out the wattage of these essential appliances:

  • Refrigerator: 600 watts

  • Large dehumidifier: 700 watts

  • Large window air conditioner: 1,400 watts

  • Water heater: 3,000 watts

Running home appliances like these requires a partial or whole-house generator. A portable generator may be enough to power your home if you only plan to keep a refrigerator and freezer running.

Here’s what you can run with different wattages and types of generators:

Portable generator:

  • 2,000 watts can handle a large appliance like a freezer or refrigerator, plus a few smaller items like phones or computer chargers.

  • 4,000 watts will keep two large appliances operating and a few smaller devices.

  • 8,000 watts should power most essential appliances and other devices, including a sump pump, well pump, or your dishwasher.

Partial to whole-house generator:

  • 20,000 watts and above will make it seem like your home’s power is still on.

The value of installing a whole-house generator is that your home has guaranteed power, even if the power grid in your area is down. Whether a whole-house generator is worth installing in your home depends on how often you use it, your home’s location, and your lifestyle. For example, installing a whole-house generator is likely worth it if you:

  • Experience frequent or prolonged power outages

  • Work from home

  • Store a lot of cold food

  • Have a sump pump

  • Have a pump for well water

  • Use electronic medical devices

  • Live in a climate requiring heating or cooling
