Spencer Service

Initial service call was October 18, 2013. Greg was the technician who arrived at the time scheduled. He was courteous, knowledgeable and worked efficiently. He needed to order the part and schedule return visit for installation. The company was very helpful in scheduling the return visit. Again, Greg , the technician arrived during the time scheduled and completed the installation in efficient manner. It was nice to receive the discount as an Angie's List member. I will continue to be a repeat customer for appliance repairs. Keep up the good work!

I love these guys!! I had originally called to schedule a service because our dishwasher still sounded like it was on even after the cycle had ended. Instead of coming out for a service call that would have cost me money (and made them money) the gentleman on the phone gave me some advice on how to (hopefully) address the problem and avoid a service call. I tried his tips and they worked! No service necessary (the dishwasher simply needed to be "reset") and now they have a customer for life.

The service provider came a little bit outside of the promised time window, although since we were a later afternoon appointment, that's not shocking. Once he arrived, he ran the dishwasher until it reached the point where it began leaking. It took him perhaps 10-15 minutes to fix the problem. While this was not a particularly difficult or complex issue, the whole process was very professionally handled. I will gladly call Spencer Service again for any future appliance needs.

He was informative and conscientious. He worked quickly and didn't charge us for parts he ad in his bag. Great wrk and professional.

The service showed up on time. Identified the problem and repaired it same day. They lost a small part of the machine and said they would they would replace it. We are waiting for that to happen but other than that the dryer is working and all is well.

He quickly found the problem and explained what my options were regarding the cost.We decided to go ahead and remove and bypass the defective switch which took about 5 minutes to do.Awesome work- Thank you so much!!

Went well. Technician explained that the motor was malfunctioning and could be repaired. He took into consideration the age of the dryer (approximately 12 years old) when advising me on a course of action. He presented me with three scenarios, fix the motor (he ballparked a figure), buy a new dryer, or continue to use the dryer until the motor gave out. There was no pressure whatsoever on his part to "get the sale" and repair the motor which I really appreciated. Called a few hours later with the cost to fix the motor, but again was quite low key. In the end, I decided not to repair the dryer, but definitely will use their services again. Very impressed with tech's expertise, professionalism, and realistic take on the situation.

The service man was professional checked out and analyzed the problem (most importantly he listened to what I said was the problem). He called the main office for prices of parts, etc. It was an older machine and I opted not to fix and buy a new one instead. Their prices for parts and labor were reasonable. I would highly recommend this company to any Angie's List customers. All of the other companies I called wanted $65 to $70 to come out and that was for their analysis to detect the problem - one would apply cost to repair if I had it done. The other would not. If I used them I would be out of pocket an additional $25 to $30 for their analysis to which I already knew the problem. Highly recommend SPENSER SERVICE.

Spencer Service was booked up, but phone person managed to get one of the technicians to fit us into his schedule. This was because it was a refrigerator. Technician was very efficient. Explained what he was doing. Diagnosed problem quickly. He got the machine operating properly again. I was surprised at the reasonable price that he charged. It's great to have made contact with a reliable appliance service company.

Great! This technician was punctual, reason about price and, most important, he knew what he was doing and fixed my problems!

Service call was placed on a Thursday afternoon and scheduled for Saturday. The service rep arrived on Saturday and looked at washer and dryer, completed the diagnosis, and advised us of the problem area. A cleaning of the dryer pulley was performed in hopes that the service was all that was required. The noise continued and the company was advised of the issue. The part was ordered and the service rep arrived the following week as requested and replaced the part.

I selected Spencer Service because of their high rating and their no-nonsense company web site. I phoned the receptionist and got a same day appointment (a four hour window). Technician G. F. arrived during the first hour and within 5 minutes had diagnosed the problem (washer had a defective water pump -- a common problem with this particular model according to G. F.). His expertise impressed me! Much to my surprise he had a replacement pump with him. Within 20 minutes my washer was fully repaired. G. F. was consistently polite and respectful. Best of all, he applied the advertised 10% Angie's List discount without me having to ask!

The repairman was courteous and professional. He was able to figure out the problems with our three appliances (washer, gas dryer and oven) quickly and accurately. Everything works fine now. Would definitely use again.

I called Spensers Friday morning the 21st of December. I was told the repairman would arrive between 1:00 and 4:00pm. I received a call from their office at 4:00 telling me he was running a lttle late and should be at my home by 4:30. He did not arrive until 5:45 while we were having dinner. He did not apoligize for being late. It took him less then 5 minutes to find and fix the problem. He told us the price was $109.95. I told him that was ridiculous and that on their website it said the average price was $69.95. He said ok and changed the price on the bill to $69.95. I was upset that he was late without a phone call telling me he was running late and also the first price quoted.

Excellent. He explained what he was going to do, how much it cost, and was very neat during and after he did his work

Our Maytag washing machine would not operate because it showed the top was open when it was in fact closed. The Serviceman, Guy, arrived when they said he would. He went through a complete diagnostic of the mechanical and digital components of the machine, and identified the problem as the controller board for the machine. He said that he could get the part and fix it for about $400, but that based on his experience the machine would continue to develop problems and that a new machine would probably be a better decision. He gave us some recommendations as to brands with the best machines. All in all, an excellent experience.

The refrigerator stopped cooling. We called Spencer Service on a Monday morning and they said they could come out that afternoon or the next morning. We chose the next morning. Guy was the technician. He showed up on time, was very friendly and professional. He quickly diagnosed the problem; the defrost heater had quit working. He said he had to order the part and it could be as long as 3 days, but he called the next day and said it had come in. He set up an appointment to install it the following day. Again he was on time, courteous and efficient. He even cleaned up the mess left by all the frost buildup that immediately began melting when he put the new heater unit in. We are extremely pleased with the service we got from Spencer and wouldn't hesitate to use them again or recommend them.

I was very happy with the service I received very good honest service. They found the problem quickly and made repair in just minutes. Very trustworthy and I would use Spencer again in the future.

They were exceptional. They were very prompt. They were very professional. They were on time. Their prices are reasonable. We were very happy with their services.

I have had a previous relationship with Spencer Service back when I owned an older Maytag washer and dryer that i was able to repair myself and would go to Spencer S. to by my parts, have parts tested and seek advise. Eventually, we decided that the thirty five year old Maytags were getting tired and we decided to buy more efficient new digital appliances. I was delighted to rediscover Spencer Service when we began to have trouble with our 6 year old LG washer and began a search on the internet and discovered good reviews on ' AngiesList' and called Spencer to confirm that they could repair our LG's. Michele, Guy and Greg were great at setting up the appointments, explaining the technology and ultimately repairing my complex and expensive washer. I would and will trust them again when one of our newer, more efficent if less practical ( ultimate cost including repairs, less longevity, harder to fix ) wonders of modern technology again stops working and flashes an ominous error code on it/s display. Thanks guys you were great, but I hope I don't have to call you again anytime soon!** Wonder who's still using our old Maytags now?

The repairman arrived promptly and inspected the problem washer. He quickly eliminated all the possible problem areas and located a rusted clamp and clogged hose because of hard water. That was fixed and he tested the washer through the entire wash cycle to make sure there were no more leaks. The dryer was cleaned of lint accumulation with a vacuum and brush. All is well again.

I noticed something was wrong with my washing machine when the timer, which was set at 48 minutes, had only moved 5 minutes after 45 minutes of actual time. The machine was also stuck in a short cycle of agitation and fill. Of course, when the repair man came, the machine worked flawlessly. I managed a few more loads until the problem recurred. When I phoned for another service call, the original repair man called me back to explain the problem in more detail to him. He told me to try some settings on the machine which didn't solve the problem either. He concluded, and I agreed, that the problem was with the electronic control panel. My machine is nine years old. He called me again after he had obtained the cost of the replacement panels. My machine has two panels that need replacement. Based on the cost alone of the replacement panels , he advised me to buy a new machine. Since my dryer is also nine years old and has an electronic control panel, I decided to replace both with the brand recommended by the repair man.
