Bello refinished our pale oak floor in just 4 days. The floor had dents, dirt-filled gouges, board separations, and even a burned spot. They brought it back to new condition! Their specialized equipment sucked up the sanding dust as it was created. The sheets of plastic they put over everything for protection weren't even really needed. Every step of the process was explained beforehand and a time given to complete each step, and they kept to the given timeline. They were so clean they even kept a damp towel outside the front door to prevent tracking in. They moved our frig and furniture because of my husband's broken wrist, although they don't usually do this, and returned to move it all back. We highly recommend this family owned business!

Dorel surpassed our expectations. He was very patient with us since we had no idea what to expect or what we really wanted as to material. He gave us some ideas and advice as to what to expect with different material. He has also been very patient with our railing contractor and even offered to help with some trim work that they needed stained. We are so very pleased with the look of our new stairs. It went fantastically well-- beyond our expectations! I found Dorel Solovastru of Bello Hardwood Flooring on Angie’s list, and the positive reviews lead me to call him and ask for a bid on our job. He was very quick to answer my call and arrange to make an estimate. From the very first meeting, we were impressed with Dorel’s professional demeanor, patience with our endless questions, and continuous generosity with facts and information we didn’t even know we needed or wanted. I have certainly met talkative, “chatty” and charming contractors before, but none have come even close to matching Dorel when it comes to clear and helpful communication, which is precisely what we want. This was true not only at the beginning of the project, but every step of the way to the end. We actually received the first bid from Dorel in 2014, but we were not yet ready to proceed. Almost three years later I contacted Dorel again and was relieved that his previous bid was still active, and in fact he came out and updated the bid from a partial to complete home re-flooring job on our 1600 square foot home. There are some tricky areas in our house that required extra attention, such as a stone fireplace hearth area that runs across a corner of the room diagonally, creating two sharp triangle shaped corners of floor that needed to be covered. Dorel fit the wood around that hearth perfectly, and it looks as if it were original to the house. The job also involved removing an old tile floor covering our kitchen, dining room, and entryway. Dorel and his nephew Josh (also very polite and professional) were careful to seal off the kitchen cabinets and other parts of the home to control dust, and every single day we came home to a spotlessly clean working environment. One thing we worried about previous to the installation was the fact that we have a large pool table and piano in our living room. What a relief it was when Dorel reassured us that he could move those large items and work around them during the installation, and we would not have to remove them (although we did remove the piano). Dorel also offered valuable advice and worked with us to see that the large kitchen appliances, especially the refrigerator, were moved so as not to damage the new floors. What I especially liked was the fact that Dorel himself was on the work site every day with his nephew, having oversight and doing the actual skilled work. It was clear to me that he is personally invested in doing a superb job. That alone was a refreshing change from my previous experiences with other contractors who remotely “supervise” a job. The craftsmanship of the floor installation is impeccable. Dorel also estimated the timeline of the job perfectly, always keeping us informed, despite the unavoidable potential for unforeseen issues that may arise. My only sorrow is that Dorel only does hardwood floor installations, because if I could I would hire him exclusively for any home renovation project. Dorel is simply the best.

Dorel and his crew exceeded our expectations from the initial bid to the completion of our floors. They installed approximately 1200 square feet of engineered hardwood on a concrete slab and also installed baseboards throughout our house. At every stage of the project, Dorel was professional, punctual, and responsive. Dorel would answer our texts and emails within the hour (and sometimes as quick as 5 minutes) throughout. He organized the installation, was present every day doing the work himself, and was personally hands-on supervising his crew at every turn. Dorel is truly a master craftsman. He executed the project with an eye toward design and a precise attention to detail. Dorel always checked with us regarding any adjustments or adaptations in the installation. Dorel went above and beyond to ensure that the work area was immaculate at the end of every day, and he communicated what to anticipate for the following day. Dorel and his crew were always polite, friendly and respectful. Without any reservation, we would highly recommend their services. They are A+ is our book.

Dorel was extremely prompt in returning my phone calls and showed up exactly when he said he would. I was very impressed by the fact that the owner of a business was on site and actually worked the job. My experience in the past has been an owner selling the job but then the people that worked the job were not as experienced or as qualified. It was very easy to tell that Dorel takes pride in his work and company. He wants his customers to be happy! Dorel also made sure that he gave me the information on curing the floors so that we prevented any scratches or discoloration of the floor. This information was not given to me by the initial installer and I had discoloration from the sun on my floors caused by rugs being placed on the floors too soon after installation. My floors look better than they did when they were first installed 4 years ago!!

Seriously, look no further for a hardwood flooring contractor. Dorel is professional, prompt, responsive and both knowledgeable and thorough about his work. He will work very hard, advise you honestly, and hold true to his word. Our home was completely redone. 80% required refinishing and 20% needed new installation, plus some fixes with damaged boards. Dorel and Josh?s work was seamless - you cannot tell where the old hardwood ends and the new starts. They took extra care to minimize dust build up in some exposed areas using plastic to cover some of our things ? but the equipment used took care of the majority. Dorel helped us work through an unanticipated hiccup which required more labor and more wood - he was very fair and straightforward with the options, and despite the set-back they still finished on time. I can?t say enough. He took the time to answer all fifty-zillion if my questions with patience. In this day and age, that plus the quality of work ? it?s a rare find and I think folks will be hard pressed to find someone that even comes close to his equal.

Bello Hardwood Flooring did an outstanding job. Dorel Solovastru is a trustworthy hardworking man. He is crisp, clean and nice. Before he installed the flooring he realized there was a defect. He took the defective flooring back and picked up the new flooring. His whole process is immaculate. He responded to every question I had the same day, there was no foolish question. He also made sure that my home and accommodations were dust proof. He made sure that his process did not negativity affect me personally or environmentally. I trusted him to be alone in my home. I trusted him enough that I even had a key made for him to use so I could go to work. If I had any other flooring needs I would use Bello Hardwood Flooring again in a heartbeat.

All things considered, you may be able to do as well as Bellow Hardwood Flooring, but probably not better! Dorel, and his nephew, Josh, are "old school" workmen. Part of what that means is the same guy who shows up to give the job estimate (bid) is the guy who does the work. My wife and I found Dorel and Josh to be extremely personable. They did the job quickly and professionally and throughout the installation kept us informed on what they were going to do, including possible options of how it could be done. Dorel returned my initial phone call within a day, and sent the bid by e-mail two days later. We accepted the bid and agreed on an installation date about three weeks away. This seemed very reasonable for us considering his great reputation and the large number of requests he receives. In the interim, I phone him several times, and he returned those phone calls all within an hour. The first day he and Josh showed up right on time (even a few minutes early). The second day they were going to show up again at 7:30 A.M., but graciously agreed to 8:00 so our overnight guests had a little more time to get downstairs before Dorel and Josh continued their work on the stairs. Another part of "old school" is to do a excellent job of cleaning up when the job is complete. They did that. The stairwell looks absolutely beautiful.

Took out old floors and put brand new hardwood floors in. He was very helpful. He went out bought wood that matched. I did not have to do anything. I would certainly use him again.

He spent a good amount of time explaining the pros and cons of the different types of hardwood, as well as gluing the floor down vs. floating. Dorel (the owner) and Josh are extremely knowledgeable and professional in the manner in which they conduct their work. Furthermore, they were able to answer all of my questions satisfactorily and made sure I understood the process and what to expect throughout each step of the week-long project. Their pricing is competetive for the industry; however their quality and craftsmanship is like no other. Their attention to detail is above reproach, taking the time to make sure that every square inch of the floor was properly sanded and any prior imperfections such as old gouges or loose boards were addressed prior to proceeding with application of the finish. Prior to the refinish, we pointed out areas of concern to include boards which were cupped due to previous water damage. Dorel and Josh were able to restore them such that you would not be able to notice any defect whatsoever. We are so very thankful that we did not need to replace the boards. We previously had old-style brass air-conditioning floor registers and wanted to bring them up-to-date. Dorel was able to source flush mounted wooden floor registers to match our acacia floor which are absolutely beautiful. Dorel and Josh arrived together on-time each day and concluded their work at the close of each day by making sure the area was broom clean, tools picked up and ready to continue the following day. We expected there to be a lot of dust from the sanding; however, the hepa filter vacuum used in conjunction with the sander did not leave so much as a trace of dust. They run such a clean operation. Often times, one can tell how your property will be treated by seeing the worker’s equipment. Dorel and Josh made sure that all of their equipment was spotless once they were done using it. This shows the extent of pride not only in the work they do but also in the tools with which they use. I would absolutely hire Dorel and Josh again!

We dealt with Dorel Solovastru. Dorel is the best home renovation contractor we have worked with. On time and on budget. He and his crew did the highest quality work. He was responsive to our wishes as issues came up in the middle of the job. He advised us through the process of choosing the flooring, helped us choose a flooring vendor, and answered our questions about re-doing our floor. He is an honorable man, and was a pleasure to work with. Our finished floor is absolutely beautiful. We would recommend him highly to anyone wanting to repair or install hardwood flooring.

Dorel and Josh just left. As a retired architect I wish I had access to him many years ago. He was very responsive to my inquiry about his services and made an appointment for a few days later. I should say I am very picky and detail oriented and have contracted for many, many square foot of flooring in my career. He answered all my questions without hesitation and without exaggeration. He was prepared with examples of his work. Compared with a few other companies he was very responsive and professional. I had indicated to everyone we contacted that I wanted to talk to and get the estimate from the person doing the work. All but a few failed this test. Never rely on a company to decide who is best for you. Company referrals are not the same as personal referrals. Have your requirements and desires written down or very clear in your mind. Never fear asking questions of any kind. He was busy for two weeks. (Another good sign. Sometimes those immediately available might be that way for lack of work which equates to lack of experience and demand for their services. They showed up on time every day. Kept their work clean and left each day with no mess of any kind to clean up. The stairs required some mitered corners that came out absolutely perfect. Imperfect walls and floors were not a problem and a few areas were reinforced with screws to solve squeaking before the flooring was installed. He used top quality materials, (we purchased the wood) and appropriate tools for an installation I would have loved in many past projects as much as we do now. I recommend his services without reservation. Just go into any project knowing what you want with an ability to clearly communicate it.

It went well - we especially appreciated that Dorel's supplier got us the lowest price on our hardwood than any other place we looked at, and that when the wood delivery was delayed by a month, Dorel moved his schedule around to fit us in before the holidays. They seem to really know their business and were very professional and easy to work with. Our only teensy-weensy mini-complaint is that on his recommendation we let him determine placement of the boards, and while they did a pretty thorough job of eliminating flawed boards, we did find that there are about 10 boards that ended up being poorly placed or that we felt should have been eliminated. But out of the 60 boxes of wood, that is very miniscule. We would definitely hire them again and do recommend them for others.
