We would like the customer to stand-tall to our contract and then excellent service we provided even when measures of unethicalness were displayed. We still stayed the course to ensure her rental was ready by time she requested to not lose rental income. The attached $1,621.37 is owed, and requested to be paid to complete her contract. We went above and beyond for customer, and did several items for free or heavily discounted to assist her get her project done and her desired list. This transaction begin on Tues August 26, 2014 when we walked customer [member name removed] rental property where she shared her desires to have (2) bathroom remodels completed, and importance on getting work done before October 1st. On August 28th, we emailed customer w/contract, and followed-up w/a phone call same day to ensure she knew was sent; do to the priority she impressed upon us to have the work done. The following day, we received a phone call from customer, discussed the contract line item by item, the price, and what are time frame to complete contract. On that same day she gave the verbal approval for a start date of September 8, 2014. ON the 8th of September, 2014 at 8am I (Charles M. Gilbert) met w/customer to walk project w/my craftsman Aaron Montes who was leading project and additional craftsman Erik Etienne. We physically walk project to ensure all her desires were captured on contract, questions I posed to customer via email regarding project addressed, and contract fit what was going to take place in her rental property. At that time questions that were posed were answered, and other small items addresses written down by hand on hard copy (print out of contract); note: copy of contract during walk through of project was given to customer before walk started, and all notations and answers to questions were written on Repairs and Remodels On Demand (RROD) contract. RROD went over all items walked, hand written adjustments on RROD copy, price again, and had customer sign contract right below price for RROD to commence project. The following day everything that was discussed about project was populated on updated contract, and emailed to customer to provide copy of transaction the following day, and to ensure transparency. From the beginning our price was laid out for customer, discussed live on phone and in person, and physically seen on paper and on email demonstrating cost for project. Please see attached original contract, and see last version of contract. The only additional price was due to unforeseen plumbing issues w/old plumbing coming from floor which is not current standard and moving pluming to wall. This additional cost was discussed w/customer and fully went over and approved before commencing. Additionally, customer requested for screen door at back door, and cement to be grinded at front door which was completed work for her at no additional charge; set aside the screen door she purchased was the wrong size, and we added a kick plate to provide better aesthetic appeal and close big gap on bottom of door all done for free. In efforts to be concise and be clear about the interaction w/customer it is valuable to note everything RROD was done to contract written that was black and white w/which customer received in various medians. At all stages customer was communicated with, and the beauty of our company is we do not mark-up material; you pay what we pay. Anytime during remodel if there was a revision or something changed on contract, it was updated and the version of the contract changed. All updates to contract were emailed to customer, and any change was highlighted for ease for customer to see. Customer states material costs and excess tile, and unfortunately customer was looking at project before complete, and any and all material not sued was returned to the store purchased where customer received/credit…was not charged for it. Customer from beginning of project was very involved in project, and had other companies involved doing projects in her rental. The vanities customer purchased to be installed in both bathrooms came w/no sinks and how was presented to RROD, and priced to install. Customer had hired a countertop company where she purchased material from to fabricate and install her bathroom tops. From initial walk through of project customer stated they would install; hence no tops on vanities she purchased and requested for us to install. After job was nearing end, and after countertop company came and measured for fabrication, it was learned by RROD customer had a following out w/said countertop company. Customer then requested for RROD to install, and stated could, and provided cost for that, as was not part of contract, vanities she purchased had no tops, and she had custom made. Customer informed lead on project she understood, and would get back to us/RROD. No response until a few days later, which RROD was on standby for tops to be installed, as our work was complete until that point, and could not be finished until tops were installed. That’s when RROD heard of communication to Angie’s list, and being of clearly misleading, and incorrect statements were presented. Even w/the deleterious statements made by customer against our company which were not true…we still stayed the course to complete project upon countertop being installed. We will always stand tall to our contract, and just request our customers to respects our desires to meet their requests w/what we agreed to on contract. We value all our customers, and take every experience serious, and always look at what we can do to ensure we are a company that is ethical, clear, and handles itself w/pride in doing business in a service industry.
