It was excellent. The guy that came out is the proprietor, Gil Haver, and he did an excellent layout design, did measurements, had some real good suggestions and committed to the implementation, schedule and made it. It was very clear that it was essential that if we are going with them, that they meet the limitation schedule and they did. The crew is excellent. The people they sent out really knew what they were doing, they work fast, quickly and efficiently, and the workmanship was excellent. We were pleased with the result. The was commensurate. I got also other bids and they were all within $500 of each other. I was very pleased with them.

I got a prompt consultation with the company's designer. He answered all my questions in detail in the day of the consult, in an un-hurried and thoughtful manner. He sent 3-D drawings of proposed design in the next day. The installation was done within a few weeks and it, too, went very smoothly. The team of installers was highly professional and neat. After we lived with the closets for a few weeks, we needed a minor tune up (getting one thing moved and another slightly altered). As promised, this was done promptly and at no additional charge.

Great experience! Gill, the owner, came out to the house and gave us a free estimate, sketching a plan for what he wanted/what he recommended. He was pleasant and easy to work with. We compared vs. another provider and the price was very competitive (significantly less than Container Store's closet offering). We decided to go ahead with Gill. He was very responsive to several questions we had in the 3 weeks or so between when we decided to move forward and the first available install date. Four workers came out to the house and were very friendly and answered our questions. As a cherry on top, they are even coming back to put in an extra rack we didn't know we needed - for free! A+

The owner came to my house to personally measure everything and provide me an estimate. He also was prepared with samples. The pricing was very competitive. He also ensured that my Angie's List coupons were applied. Pricing was competitive even before the coupon. Appointments were made and kept. The quality of the work and the materials is top-notch.

They came up with the design, which was amazing. They were great! Their prices came in lower than others. They were on time, polite and professional.

It was a wonderful experience. They were on time and professional. And their work looks good.

This is the second time we've used House Of Closets. It was almost a year ago that we found them on Angie's List (there are hundreds of closet companies in LA) and if you read my review back then, you'll know why we chose them immediately for our new house. The previous time, Ron, Gil's son, designed the closet, and this time, Gil, came over and hand-drew the design himself. The results are wonderful. Both father and son are true design artists! I think I posted pictures of our previous closet, but this one is even better. I have to mention that we were so pleased with the scheduling. At first we were told it might be weeks until we could have our closet, but we would be put on a waiting list. There was a cancelation and we were so happy to be scheduled sooner. The two installers, Juan and Jose, were so professional and efficient. The whole closet was completed in a few hours. The very next day we thought we saw a design flaw in one of the sections, and Gil, himself, came right over and showed us how it was not a flaw, but how he could easily adjust the shelving. He was terrific. We highly recommend House Of Closets over any company!

Amazing service. From the initial appointment with Ron to the thank you card I received for using their services (who does this anymore?!?!) after all work was complete this company is the best. I had 4 quotes for our 3 closets, two of which were nightmares and two of which were not. The nightmare companies came to our home, measured our closets, and stayed here "designing" our closets for nearly 2 hours to give the hard sell. Who has time for that? Ron came over, took his measurements, discussed the plan, and left in about 30 minutes. He had the plans in my e-mail by the next day. The design was the best of all four, AND the most reasonably priced. On install day, the gentlemen who arrived (one for each closet) were on time and super efficient. The closets were installed in an extremely timely manner and are just awesome! Look no further - you will only be wasting your time. You won't find a better service than that from House of Closets. I will definitely use them in the future should a need arise. The entire experience was actually delightful. Oh, and we love our new closets!!

Fantastic! Old school hospitality is what you will find. They were eager to accommodate and help us. The owner even came to my house after I spoke with him over the phone about a bit of a dilemma that we were in. He was such a pleasant person and a gentleman. After consulting other closet companies, the House of Closets gave us the best price, the best service, and an amazing closet.I even received a thank you note several days later. I was swept off my feet by their politeness, which I feel is rare to find with all these major corporations. I would highly recommend them for their product and service! And I would use them again, hands down.

Upon calling to request an estimate I was able to schedule an appointment for that same week. Ron arrived on time and we discussed my needs. He took into consideration my suggestions and offered his own. He quickly measured and I received the design promptly via email. Once approved, I paid a 50% deposit and we scheduled an install date about three weeks into the future. Prior to the install I received a reminder of the appointment. On the day of the appointment, three installers arrived, a bit late, but not enough for me to complain. However, it would have been nice to know they were running late. I could see this making someone else angry if they had taken time off work to be at home, but I work at home so it wasn't a big deal. It took the guys about 90 minutes to do the install. They put down floor protection and cleaned up after they were done. All I was left with was my beautiful new closets. We got very basic white shelves and hanging bars without a lot of bells and whistles, but overall I am very happy. The new design has greatly improved the functionality of my closets. I have one more closet to fix and I would definitely call House of Closets to do the work. Our house was built in 1940, and I am wondering where the heck they put all their stuff! The closets were practically useless before. Nothing feels quite as good as an organized closet!

They were very nice and they did good work. They would call you right back and were always very responsive.

I have a walk in closet that already had built-in shelving but I had 2 areas in the closet that I wanted to add additional shelving. I called and Ron came out the next day to tell me what was possible. He drew out the design of 2 shelving units and told me he would e-mail me an estimate later that day or the next day at the latest. When I didn't receive the estimate the next day I called Ron who said it should have been sent out. A few hours later I did receive it and I found it to be very reasonable. We set a date for installation and the men were very punctual when they came to the house. They did the installation then called me into the closet to inspect. One shelving unit was perfect - the workmanship was great and the fit was perfect. However, the other one was measured incorrectly and was several inches too deep, consequently sticking way out from the existing shelving. They had to rip it out and redo the unit at the shop. There was a communication error as to when they were coming back to reinstall but we resolved that glitch. The second unit now fits perfectly. I now see that when they were bringing the shelving up the steps they gouged out several pieces of drywall on the staircase. There were broken pieces of drywall all over the steps. I am not happy with that, nor with the fact that the men didn't say anything. It is impossible that they didn't see or feel what they did.

The experience went great overall. He was very accommodating and did a good job with the design. The closet is very functional and we’re happy with the work!

We were very pleased with their work. They did a really good job. They showed up on time, they did what they said they would do and the price was what they said they would do.

We were very excited to call House of Closets based completely on the reviews on Angie's list. House of Closets scheduled an appointment to view our space today at 12:30 pm. My spouse and I both took off from work in order to be here to meet their representative and discuss our needs. No one shows up. Later we noticed a voice message came in at 12:15. The message was something like:"we have been in your neighborhood a couple times before and didn't get the work. We aren't coming." We are obviously upset at the lost work time. We were honestly excited to work with House of Closets based on reviews on Angie's List and would have almost certainly hired them for a substantial job. We didn't intend to get competitive bids if we were happy with House of Closets design plan. The good reviews and professionalism were more important to us than best price. The map of where House of Closets had recent jobs indicates that they work to the north, south, east and west of our location, so distance wasn't the issue. Why call so late after knowing we were taking off work to meet them? Why the rude message? We live in an upscale condominium building in the L.A. Live area of downtown. There are now well over 30,000 residential units downtown and over 60,000 residents between Bunker Hill and Southpark,most of us residing in new high-rise units. All of us need organized storage because the tradeoff for downtown and gorgeous views is square footage. A good job for us would have resulted in referrals, I'm certain. But regardless of the marketing issues, I don't think it is professional to assume that all people who live in a particular neighborhood will behave the same. We are individuals, not pack dogs. Isn't that like treating everyone the same within a certain age, gender, race or national origin group? BTW, they knew our location at the time the appointment was confirmed.

We had a quick response to our initial telephone inquiry and got the design and price for our job at the first meeting. Work was completed in an efficient manner with no problems. Installers were prompt and good with clean up. Our office looks beautiful and is well designed to give us plenty of storage as well as two desk areas. A problem came up a few months later (a lock on the filing cabinet drawer) and it was addressed quickly with no charge.

Terrific service. Came out and talked to us about what we wanted, and very quickly -- within a couple of hours -- we had an estimate and a 3D design for the project. The plan was a great blend of what we wanted and his suggestions. Responded quickly to our follow-up questions. Installation went very smoothly and the final product looks great.

Gil and his team at House of Closets were great! Initially I was skeptical and dreading the appointment -- but Gil made the whole process easy, painless, and yes -- even fun! Gil had some great ideas that I hadn't even thought of! I had tried to design the whole thing myself on a closet design website, but I am so glad I went with House of Closets instead. I can see now that my attempt to Do-It-Yourself would have been a complete disaster -- and in the long run, HoC was cheaper and they customized and installed everything themselves. My closets now look great and everything is neat and organized. Gil is friendly, honest and a true professional -- he has this whole closet design-thing down to a science!

Again, it was a great experience and I recommend them highly!

Found House Of Closets on Angie's list. Gil (the owner) came out to measure and was pleasant and professional. Took about a week or so as everything is custom built. Angie, from his office, called and e-mailed throughout the process. I couldn't be happier. Great business, great product and at a fair price!

Project completed very efficiently and on time. Quality of materials and workmanship very professional. Due to misunderstanding, a return visit to install an additional clothes rack was delayed. Overall, I was very satisfied with the experience.

Ron came in to give me suggestions, measure, etc. His ideas were great and I got more storage than imagineable. He was on time, the workers were clean, quick and friendly. No muss, no fuss!

House of Closets (HoC) was GREAT. They designed a great closet layout for us in our newly-built walk-in closet. They came out, showed me samples, and took measurements. They were also very concerned to know what out clothes consisted of so that their closet design would work for what we needed (not just a standard closet layout). On the same day they came out they e-mailed me a cool diagram (both 2D and 3D) of what the closet would look like. Their installers were punctual, clean and well organized, and did a great job on their installation. We are very happy, and will likely use HoC in the future to help design a home office (with desks, built-in book shelves and computer storage).

Gil came to our house to give us an estimate on creating a walk-in closet in my mater bedroom, to replace an old, outdated 70s style mirrored door in a home we just bought. Gill really went above and beyond, not only making suggestions about shelving, but helping me envision how to best use the space when I tore out the old closet and where to place the new walls to best use the space. It was a real challenge, since the master bathroom is only accessible through the master bedroom. We ended up eliminating a lot of dead space at the back of the bedroom by creating a walk-in/walk-through closet with two glass pocket doors, and closet shelving on each side. He looked at the layout and drew pictures of what the closet would look like from three different vantage points when it was done. His background as an engineer was obvious! Not only that, but when I was struggling to find a contractor to do the work, I mentioned this to him and he gave me a referral to a quality contractor he had worked with on other projects. Gill and Etan worked seamlessly together to build out my brand new, custom closet, and I really enjoyed me time working with them on the project. In fact, I was so happy with Gil's work that when I had the contractor move another wall to create a third bedroom, I expanded the project to have Gill put in custom closets in the new third bedroom and shelving for our kitchen pantry as well! It all looks absolutely amazing!! Even my 10 y-o boy loves (and uses!) his new closet. At a previous home, I had used California Closets for a project. They were fine, but pricey for the quality delivered and they didn't put any personal care and attention into their work. Gil, by contrast, is a true craftsman who takes pride in his work, will give you a high quality product, and is a pleasure to work with.I highly recommend Gil, and wouldn't think of using anyone else ever again!

He has done lots and lots of closets and could easily make recommendations about what would work best. He did not try to sell us anything special. He suggested a basic, well-organized system that would work for a regular guy's closet. No need for hardwood or marble if the closet doors are going to be closed all the time! He used quality materials, though--no long, flimsy shelves that will sag under the weight of clothes. On the day of the work, two workmen showed up on time, did the work quickly, and then cleaned up well before leaving. We are very satisfied.
