Got quotes from 3 different companies for 3 closets. Went with House of Closets for price and design features.

Went quite well and the end results were better than I expected. The only hiccup was that they do not install on the weekends and therefore someone had to take the day off.

House of Closets was recommended by our contractor as part of an overall remodel. Most communication was handled via the contractor which may have contributed to the lack of communication. In a nutshell, the rep from House of Closets (Ron) was not very polite at the first meeting. Civil at best which made my wife uncomfortable. Then they installed the wrong hardware after multiple conversations and follow-ups in writing (with pictures!) about the hardware we wanted. Since the holes they drilled did not match the correct hardware, they had to be removed and completely re-made, which took weeks. In the end, the work got done correctly, but not without a lot of frustration.

Outstanding from the first phone call, through the in-house consultation, design, installation, workmanship, punctuality, pleasant personalities and to the finished product. Everyone we worked with was fully engaged to do an outstanding job, which they did.

Ron came out on 6/6/16 to assess my existing collapsed closet organization system. Since my clothes were everywhere, I was anxious to have a new system installed ASAP. The new system was ordered on Monday and that Thursday, a new unit was installed. They did a great job and I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.

All went great from day 1. Approx 1 month ago, Ron, the owner came out to discuss, he was on time & very nice. We discussed ideas & he took measurements. I was sent an estimate & drawing of what the closets would look like w/ dimensions noted. I placed my order right away, paid a deposit & waited for my closets to be ready to be built on the premises. The installers came, worked outside, brought parts in & in 2 hours I had great laundry room closets w/more space than expected. People think they can't afford to have closets & cabinets built, but it is possible. House of Closets' pricing was very reasonable for all looking as nice & put tougher as it does now!

I contacted House of Closets in August to do some work for my home office. I chose them because they seemed to have nothing but stellar reviews here on Angie's List. I scheduled my in-house consultation with a nice lady on the phone. A few minutes before the scheduled appointment, I got a call from a man (I'm sorry, I forgot his name), asking if we could reschedule for the next day. I said sure. The next day rolls around and I don't hear from the guy. He misses the appt. I call him and he tells me he forgot. He makes an excuse about some issues with the girl that schedules his appointments. We reschedule for that coming Saturday. That morning he calls and asks if I could do him a favor and switch the appt time. I tell him it's not possible for me and he explains he has to drive back and forth from the westside to where I live near Pasadena. I say, I'm sorry man but I didn't do your schedule... he agrees to stick to our scheduled time. The consultation itself went well. He seemed nice and knowledgable. He took the time to draw out detailed specs for the project and told me he would follow up with a quote. The short version is that never happened. I have called him multiple times and he simply makes excuses about how busy they are, that they've never been this busy before, but tells me the project is on his desk and he will come up with the quote in a week. That was a month ago. I am busy myself and have therefore not yet found another company to do this work. It's extremely disappointing though to go this far down the road with a company only to be left hanging. Doesn't make sense to me either since they're just neglecting an opportunity to do business. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this company to anyone.

It pains me to have to downgrade my review for this company from my A review two years ago. I had liked them so much the first time that I used them to build a full wall of closets in a downstairs service bedroom that were built to house excess kitchen equipment. As previously, they did an excellent job designing the closets and we moved forward with the job. However, the installation was poorly done. The sealant that fills in the gap between the cabinet and the wall was messy in places. Where they cut the cabinets to fit the moldings and other room specifics, it was crudely done with big rough gaps filled in by gloppy sealer...not at all the elegant installation of their previous work in my home. Some of the inside veneers were damaged during the installation as well. I called the company and Ron Hever came to inspect. He agreed that it had been done poorly and said he would send his best installation team back to fix it. However, in spite of repeated follow up on my end, they have never returned. The scheduler, Angie, rescheduled multiple times, then said that they were confused about what work needed to be done and that Ron would have to come to inspect. When I told her that he had already done that and reiterated what work needed, she said she'd discuss it with him and call me back. Never happened. Because I had had such a good experience with them the first time, I had paid in full in reliance that they would repair it as promised. Big mistake. After almost a year of following up and trying to get it repaired, I have given up and am just living with it. However, I've gone from recommending them very highly to being very disappointed with the company and would not use them again.

We called for an in-house consultation and estimate. Ron Hever came to our home as scheduled and measured our closet and advised the best options and configurations to meet our needs. He then followed up promptly with drawings for our review and approval along with an estimate. His plan was right on target and his recommendations were quite helpful in allowing us to maximize the space and utility of the closet. As we were finalizing our design, Ron was very helpful and responsive to our calls and questions. We placed our order and were given a scheduled installation date with flexibility to push out if needed as we were in the midst of remodeling and coordinating various subcontractors. Installation occurred as planned and was well done with no problems. The product is very sturdy, well-constructed, and good quality for the money. No hesitation in recommending House of Closets and recommend anyone considering this type project to give them a call.

The whole process of getting a new closet couldn't be better than it was at this place. Gil came in, looked at our disaster of a closet, whipped up a miracle plan in about 5 minutes, came up with an estimate that was much cheaper than I expected, and voila... new closet 2 weeks later. Oh yeah, the team at House of Closets installed it in about 3 hours. It was so much simpler than I expected, for a space in my bedroom that I thought could never be used effectively. Now my wife has a place to put her shoes and things! If you're waiting to get that new closet -- you've found the place. These guys really know what they're doing.

House Of Closets did a good job. They were very professional and did a great job. They delivered what they promised that they would.

They did a great job. I was very pleased with the job. I would say they are good at what they design, are not that expensive and they do not rush you to make a decision. They installed it within the week of me making a decision. I have no complaint about them.

They were very professional. They e-mailed the estimate and the schematics of all that they were going to do, trying to work those. So, it was good; that way you could see it. If you talk about stuff and you do not really know, every closet would be different. They gave me a time frame and confirmed. They stuck to the time frame that they gave so that was good.

They were really good. The people did good work, and they were very professional. They were very good. The one thing that stands out is that they are very professional.

Punctual for estimate and arriving for installation. Provided design on time and made edits based on my feedback very quickly. Installation was scheduled for 2 weeks out and only took 1/2 a day to install. Everything happened as I was told. Walls were patched from where the old rail was removed and ready for me to touch up the paint. Organizer is great and works well.

1.Ron came out and suggested a product that would best match my mahogany floors. Turns out the product was not the best match for the floors as the floors are real mahogany. When installed the floors make the artificial product look cheap even though according to Ron it was his best product and would look great with the floors - the variatition of yellower tones in his product are duller and lack any of the red tones in the floor. This was not the greatest advice so I would advise everyone to see larger pieces of the product if they are matching wood to artificial wood....I accept this as my failure to ask for the larger swatch, particularly since I have built and designed several houses.....althought these type of closets have never been my area of expertise. 2.I was somewhat surprised that the day of installation I never heard from Ron - actually I assumed he would be there as he didn't explain that the installers would be working on their own and I had assumed that it was a small family business overseen by Ron. 3. Immediately following installation I called the office and asked to speak to Ron but he wasn't available and didn't call back the following day either. I then discovered that my card was charged for the balance of the invoice without my agreement. I was displeased as the door to the closet hits the drawer when it is opened. This could easily have been avoided by moving the drawers a couple of inches to the right. 4. After several calls Gil Hever, the owner, agreed to come out. My real estate partner was here with me when he came and we went over my concerns and he agreed to have the drawer unit moved. I had also asked to have a second small closet made for an ante room to the closet but wanted to see how the work went before I ordered it. We went over the design that Ron had made and made a couple of adjustments and he promised to follow up with a proposal. Never heard from him. I have made subsequent calls but never get a response. Its been almost a year now..

It was great. They did a cool layout of what it would look like. Gave me the options I wanted, and did the entire tear-out and install in one day. Fast, professional and easy.

These guys are amazing. Our closet broke and instead of replacing the bar. We decided to maximize our space by having a closet system installed. Rav came over and measured and the closet was installed a week later. Price was 4x lower than competitors and quality was outstanding. The installers even painted the entire back wall of the closet where the old shelf had been. Cleaned up and it's working well. Only issue was not that they measured the drawers wrong and the door wouldn't close. They came back and fixed it three days later. I wish I had understood the installers who asked if I was going to replace the carpet. I said yes, eventually (meaning in like a year) and they had taken that to mean they should cut the carpet and install directly on the cement below - so now there's a big gap of concrete before the closet system. All in all good experience and would recommend.

Really just fantastic the whole way around. Came on time, got the job done and we love the closet system! We'll be using them in the future to do our garage system as soon as we get the money together.

These guys did a great job. They showed up exactly on time with all the pieces that they needed and went to work. Everything was precut and all the pieces were assembled in my closet in one hour and 15 minutes. They did an excellent job and completely cleaned up everything. I am extremely happy with the results. Also it would've cost the same or more for me to go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy all the pieces not to mention trying to talk my husband into putting them all together. This was much easier!

Extremely well. Ron was attentive to our needs and did a beautiful job. Very professional. Given all the con artists out there, this company was great and tried their best to make you happy at a very reasonable price.

Couldn't have been easier - Gil came out, designed the master, went over our needs and was clear about what he was intending on doing. We negotiated a fair price. Two weeks later his crew arrived, worked quickly and professionally. Job was done in 3 hours and they cleaned up and were gone. Highly recommend.
