Description of Work: He cleaned out the dryer vent and changed the tube between the dryer and the vent with a nonflammable one. I thought the tube was a little bit pricey but I have nothing to compare it to, so I don't know if I got a good deal on it or not that is why I gave him a B on price. He said he gave me a discount on something though, which is good and appreciated.

Description of Work: Dryer Vent Wizard was very professional. This is a well managed franchise and they do have a good website that explains WHY people should have it done on a regular basis. They replaced my dryer hose with one that is both flexible and rated fire resistant. They also replaced the outside vent cover with one that would close in-between loads (prevents birds, etc. from entering). Of course, the floor was cleaned under the dryer and the bottom panel of the dryer was popped off to clean the lint out of that. |I was shocked at the amount of lint that came out considering I clean my dryer filter after each load. Our home is 25 years old and it was the first time we have had it done professionally. Our vent run is probably 25-30 feet long so even though we cleaned it out every few years, we could only reach about three feet on each end. |My clothes dry faster and the dryer is no longer red hot after using it for a few loads. It is well worth the money both to prevent a fire and to also save money by using less electricity! I will probably have Dryer Vent Wizard service my vent every 4-5 years. I think the owner said it was $131 for cleaning the vent only. Check out www.dryerventwizard.com for more information.

I like the fact that even when he was out here to clean out the air vent and so forth, he went up to the roof and he discovered a big old stick that was blocking part of our rainwater drainage and he pulled that out of there so that the water could drain out. It had nothing to do with the dryer vent. He just pointed that out to us. It was good service. I would use them again.

 + -1 moreMy dryer had been overheating. I removed the flex line at the back of the dryer that attaches to the wall and noticed it was full of soggy lent. I considered purchasing a vent cleaning kit from a local hardware store but didn't feel that was the right approach. I knew there had to be at least 2 elbows in the vent line within my walls and was concerned with the kit becoming stuck & ending up with a worse problem. After "Googling" and "Angie Listing" the first person I called was James. He offered to come by the next morning to analyze the situation. Next day James and Alex arrived. Both were very courteous, and I could tell right away service oriented. Not only did they clean the wet lent that had accumulated in my vent lines, they made a point of letting the lines dry out first before running a final airflow test. This involved them having to return later in the day in order to give the lines time to dry. I am convinced I made the right decision by hiring an expert for this particular situation. I also have the peace of mind in knowing that my home was made safer by having this service performed on the dryer vent lines which is a leading cause of house fires.
Description of Work: Cleaned out vent lines leading from an interior laundry room to an exterior sidewall vent. Supplied new DryerFlex hose for back of dryer.

 + -1 moreThe value we received from the service far exceeds the price. We are thrilled with the results and relieved to know that we have located a service provider that we will use year after year. His rates are very reasonable - it is time consuming work requiring accessing the vent from both the laundry room and the outside vent outlet. James had equipment to confirm the airflow before and after and we are positive the vent is the cleanest it's been since we moved into the house years ago.
Description of Work: James did a complete service on our dryer vent - at least 35 feet in length! He cleaned out the ENTIRE vent, installed a new coupling between the dryer and the wall, cleaned out the inside of the dryer and did an excellent job! I was stunned by the amount of lint he removed. He had to remove the door to move the washer out from the wall far enough to get behind the dryer. He did all the work himself and did an excellent job. He was very professional and very careful - Our dryer is now drying loads more than 50% faster - and we will never let the lint build up again. We are going to have James do an annual service from now on - the savings on electricity and gas will more than pay for the service. This year was a little more expensive because he had to re-do the coupling (which won't have to be done again) - but the coupling in place before was too long and inefficient.
