Sid is one of the most professional and friendly people that we have had the good luck to find and work with. He is extremely punctual with his appointments. His Ideas and suggestions are fantastic. He has landscaped all of our terraces in the front of the house and also our side yards and back yard. There is never any mess what so ever after he leaves. Everything is always in a much better condition after Sid has been on the property. We are very pleased with not only having Sid take care of our property but also just knowing him is a pleasure. We can't recommend Sid enough. Until you have him fix the messes on your property you won't know what you've missed. Thank you Angies List for having him on your list. Sid returned calls within a day, and came to work when he said he would. He made an appointment with us to look at the job in less than a week, and scheduled the job in less than a week. Sid is pleasant, and he knows what he is talking about. We are completely satisfied!

Job done extremely well and on budget. Sid and his assistant took time to carefully remove all of the overgrown and tattered looking parts of my yard and transformed them into a veritable backyard oasis. I recommend him highly!

This company does a great job. They are professional, clean, and easy to work with. We spent about $700 for a small landscaping project and $80/month for bi-weekly lawn services. We continue to use them because of their great service and would recommend them.

This was an enormous amount of work and Sid and his crew just got in there and finished in the time he had estimated and within the cost too. He is fabulous to work with and nothing was too much trouble or effort. Very efficient and his staff were excellent too. He works with his staff and goes above and beyond. He had a good knowlege of plants and obviously likes them too as he treats them well. I just cannot say enough good things as I have had some really bad experiences with gardeners and landscapers. It was a treat to work with someone punctual, arrived when they said they would and did what they said they would. Every task was completed well. He was not the lowest quote of the companies I interviewed but I feel I certainly got my money's worth and he earned every penny of it. I had a severely overgrown backyard (weeds, vines, shrubs). Sid was prompt for the appointment for the estimate and very professional. He was able to do the work the following the week. Sid and his coworkers showed up on time and got the job done. They did excellent work in removing all of the growth in the backyard and replacing the dog barriers I have around the yard. I am very pleased with the results.

He showed up on time with his 2 workers and went right to work. The yards look fantastic!! As my wife put it.."well worth the money we spent". He will also be coming back on a monthly bases for regular maintenance twice a month for $75.00 a month. His prices were much better than other bids I got. I will be using him in the near future to rebuild the pond out back and to do some landscaping. I highly recommend him and his crew.

He is very good and we are very happy with him. The first time he came he did the whole area and he charged $600, now he charges around $90 a month. Compared to the others that I called, he responded right away. I appreciate his professionalism, I liked his explanation of what he would do and how much it would cost, and I find him easy to work with.

MY GRASS HAS NEVER BEEN SO BEAUTIFUL IN THE 11 YEARS I HAVE LIVED IN THIS HOUSE. SID REVIVED A DYING LAWN AND MADE IT SO GREEN AND LUSH I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S THE SAME LAWN. Sid and his wife Elena are both professional and curtious and are passionate about what they do. I now have a "Sid lawn" and would recommend this team to everyone I know. Seriously, I have gone through four gardeners in the last 10 years and I know the difference of a great one now.

This experience has turned me into a complete Angie's List fan. When I contacted Green Thumb-elinas, I only knew I wanted to re-do the landscaping in the area along a privacy fence that borders the sidewalk to my front entry way. My community is having all the fencing replaced, and I wanted to take the opportunity to rip out everything that was in my very small front yard, put in something esthetically pleasing, but also easy to maintain. All I knew is that I wanted mounding purple lantana as a ground cover, and wanted to stay in the purple-lavender color family. But I also wanted some and quot;heightand quot; plants, just didn't have a clue beyond that. That's all Sid had to go on. He put in a shade-loving Princess plant (beautiful) in a section that gets very little direct sun and a couple of Austrailian Flax plants (stunning) to add some height, added a few lovely rocks, and tied it all together with charcoal gray bark. On the narrow strip between the sidewalk and garage wall, he planted a wonderful type of heather that has a small lavender flower. He put in a complete drip system that works with the community irrigation. The whole effect is really quite exquisite. And all I have to do is enjoy the view (so okay, gardening isn't my passion) and invite my friends over to do the same. I would recommend Green Thumb-elinas to anyone. A+ on everything, including knowledge of what works well in our bio-zone, a great eye for design, and a love of plants. But also for professionalism and courtesy, which is very important to me. I've worked with other landscapers, none of whom I'd add to Angie's List. I would hire Green Thumb-elinas again in an instant.

They were very responsive and prompt in scheduling a time to review the work. Estimate was given on the spot. He wa a little late for our appointment but called to let me know, which I greatly appreciated! I don't mind late if someone calls to let me know, so extra gold stars for that one! I would definitely contact them for an estimate for any future work I am considering.

Best price among half dozen Anglieslist member contractors! That was the deciding factor in this downturned economy, but the gardener (Sid) was very professional and dedicated, and his recommendations at the outset made a lot of sense to me, so that was the 2nd reason for hiring him. He is a one-man crew. Seems knowledgable thus far with regards to watering and feeding the lawn and landscape. I plan to have him fix the sprinkler system as additional work, but that has not been initiated yet. My wife likes the quality of the lawn cutting; other gardeners "blow and go" and rush the cutting and it shows. I requested to not use poisons, since I have toddlers, and he has honored that. He has handpicked some of the bigger weeds which is great. He's missed a few things on occasion, but if I ask for something to be done he always follows up the next time. Tree trimming is not included, but I've done that myself. I'm guessing he'd do that too if I ask, but would cost extra.

SID ANCAR, THE OWNER, DOES A GREAT JOB. HE ALWAYS SHOWS UP TO WORK AS SCHEDULED. HE KEEPS THE YARDS LOOKING NEAT AND ORDERLY. HE KEEPS THEM PLANTED WITH COLOR.
