Jeff came out and did a great job of examining the roof, sealing the flashings around my vents and re-setting a few roof tiles. He clearly explained the condition of the roof and even offered to look for a replacement tile for a broken tile that I have. I would highly recommend his work.

It was fine. It was no big deal. Nothing happened. The guy was very friendly and very upfront about what he was going to do and how he got it done. He was a really nice guy to deal with. The inspection was very quick. It didn't take any time at all. He did show me a picture of one issue on the roof which was nice. I asked him to give me a quote to do some extra work. He came back and gave me a quote on one piece of the work. That was a little bit of disappointing. He didn't follow through completely on the extra work I had asked for. The price was fine. If I had more roofing work, I'd probably get a quote from the guy.

No issues. Jeff showed up on schedule, mentioned that at least part of my roof was too steep, but figured out how to access most of it from other parts of the roof. Very satisfied with the outcome.

We have been planning to have the roof, gutters and dry rot repaired for a few years now. We had Jeff come out on the recommendation of a friend. He was on time and courteous when he came out to do the bid. I was impressed with his knowledge and thorough explanation of the job to be done and he wasn't arrogant like a few of the other roofers that had also given us estimates. During the planning stage for the job, Jeff sent out very detailed emails with the estimates and contracts and was very flexible with any changes we needed to add to the job. The work was scheduled for 6/27/16 and Jeff and his crew were punctual and got straight to work. Day one included roof removal by his demo team. They did a great job tarping off the area and left it clean. Days two through five included re-sheeting the roof, new gutters, dry rot repair and shingles. They dry rot ended up being a much bigger job than we anticipated, but Jeff and his crew got the work done in a thorough and timely manner. Now, everything looks amazing! We are very happy with the work Jeff and his crew did. Its like we have a new house! I would not hesitate to recommend J Ratch to friends and neighbors and will certainly call on him and his crew for our upcoming kitchen remodel.

Jeff was responsive and easy to work with and answered all of our questions. His background made problem-solving issues a non-event. He was able to make suggestions and offer options that would erase a concern we had with a sloping area of the design of our roofline, which no other company seemed to offer during the bid. We would definitely recommend Jeff and his crew and would use him for other things in the future.

Jeff was professional and easy to work with. He came out to give us an estimate when he said he would. The price was not the lowest nor the highest of the 4 bids that we got, but in the middle. He seemed to know what he was talking about and we felt we could trust him. He accommodated our tenant's needs for their dogs and did the barn on a separate day as the tenants didn't have anywhere they could leave their dogs during working hours. He showed up when he said he would, did the work he said he would and we were pleased with the end result. Overall we were very happy. It was an easy and no stress project for us.

They came right away and resolved the problem. I would recommend them to anyone needing roof repair.

Jeff came out to provide an estimate for replacing my side garage door, frame, and side security door and hardware. It was a delightful surprise when he was able to re-use the old security door (saved some money there). He also replaced several sheets of dry rotted T1-11 around my home, and replaced fascia, some of which was behind one of the gutters, as well as rafter tails and other trim boards. Jeff's estimate was better than the other two I received. I really appreciated becoming aware of how outside phone and TV wiring should be attached under the rafters rather than laying on top of the belly band (trim board) that went from front to back across the center width of my home. It was also enlightening to find that the TV dish ideally could have been mounted better so as to avoid holes through my shingles and possible water leaks over the years. I love enhancing my knowledge and feel I've learned several things that will serve me well in the future.- thank you Jeff. Jeff was on the job with the crew both days, during which time everyone worked diligently through rain or shine - it did rain some on the last day. The crew was friendly and industrious. The work site was cleaned up afterward. All in all, the price was good, the crew was good and the boss was good - it was a good experience and I would highly recommend Jeff and his crew.

Left message, got return call within 24 hours and appointment set. Jeff arrived on-site 3 days later on-time and sealed a half-dozen cracked tiles, as I did not have any spare tiles. We are extremely pleased about the entire process; including the timeliness and quality of the repair and the cost.

We had Jeff come out a few months ago to repair some dry rot on the side of the house and we were so pleased with his company that we had him come out again to do the remaining dry rot repair on the exterior of our home and dry wall repair in the laundry room. His crew were on time and had several guys working the repairs and completed everything the same day. I had asked my husband if he had remembered to ask for a quote to repair part of the wood were the old satellite dish bracket was hooked to and that he couldn't remove because it was damaged and of course he forgot but than my husband saw that they removed the bracket and even repaired the wood. That was a pleasant surprise, so thank you Jeff.. We would totally recommend his company and if we have any further work done that's needed, we'll definitely be calling Jeff.. Thanks again!!

Owner, Jeff Ratchford of J. Ratch Construction came and gave me a bid. He was one of three bids I received. While he went around the house and climbed up on the roof, he warned me that there is always the possibility of more dry rot being found as wood is removed. He gave me what I thought was a fair price. He told me how busy he was doing roofing--busier than he has ever been but he felt he could find an opening of 2-3 days to do the work. I contracted with him and his crew came and sure enough they found more rot--and continued to find rot as work was being carried out. This put great pressure on him to finish the work and get back to his other roofing contracts. He was hardpressed to complete the work. We had to suspend work until he had some break but he sent his crew to carry out the work. They worked tirelessly. Every day they cleaned up even repairing a leak in a water pipe caused by a cut on an exterior wall. New findings of rot caused more runs to buy materials. Since the house was scheduled to be painted, only the priming of work needed to be done. When all was done, we were relieved to know that Jeff found all the rot that needed to be addressed. Of course, the cost went up, but it continued to seem fair, especially when we knew that rotting was addressed and bad work originally done in the initial construction was now done in a superior way. I would hire Jeff and his crew again.

Jeff, was extremely quick to respond to my inquiry. Came out and evaluated the situation and gave a very clear and concise description of what the issue was, what it would take to repair, and helped find a mutually convenient time in the very near future due to the urgency of the leak. He was professional, helpful, and didn't make me feel dumb for not knowing the roofing business which I really appreciated. His price was very comparable and the crew was polite and did a really good job of cleaning up (no garbage or piles of random nails laying around). Would DEFINITELY use J Ratch again for our future roofing needs!

Great to work with Jeff and his staff. He's much in demand, so I appreciated that he was able to fit in my roof repair before the end of the year.

Jeff did a great job of explaining exactly what he and his crew would do, how they would do it, and why they would do it. Jeff was easy to talk to and was thorough when answering my questions. The tear off crew was quick, courteous, and did a great job of cleaning up. I talked to the repair crew early one morning about some areas I wanted them to look at. They stopped what they were doing and asked me to show them what I wanted done. They took care of my requests first before moving on to their other tasks. The guy who installed the gutters showed me what he planned on doing and explained why. He asked me where I wanted the downspouts located, how I wanted them angled, and how long I wanted the angled sections to be. He gave recommendations when I wasn't sure. Jeff and his crew did everything you would hope a roofing company would do. Great attitude, great work, great-great price. I received 2 other bids for the same work, and the lowest of those was over $4,000 higher than what I paid.

The whole project went very smooth. Jeff answers phone calls and communicates very well. The whole job was completed in a timely basis at a fair price. Jeff's work is appreciated. He says what he will do, then he does what he has said.

This review is much delayed from July of 2015: Mr. Ratchford was very responsive, took time to communicate well in person, through email and phone calls to answer questions regarding our roof estimate. Because of a serious illness in our family and a time factor involved we ended up having another roofing company do the job however we would not hesitate to contact Mr. Ratchford for other constructions needs for our home in the future. Our experience communicating with him was excellent.

The overall experience went very well. Jeff, the owner, is very responsive and communicates well. He leaves messages if you don't pick up and utilizes email for paperwork. He was the only contractor to return my call and was timely about it. The estimate occurred soon after contact and went smoothly. At the onset, he seemed very knowledgeable. I received a contract from him via email within a few days after the estimate. The contract was pretty straight forward in the work to be done and listed payments in installments as work progressed. 10% down and a signature were all that were required to start the process. Work started about three weeks after the signing date of the contract, which was two weeks ahead of his initial estimated start date (he's a busy guy right now). The work was scheduled to start on a Friday morning - the demolition crew arrived mid-morning, laid out tarps, situated a large waste truck at the edge of the house and got to work. About midway through the demo process Jeff and two of his employees arrived. Jeff dropped off a trailer full of thermal radiant barrier OSB (the supplier mistakenly gave him a more expensive board than he asked for without upping the price and he passed the savings on to me). The two employees got to work laying the OSB down and Jeff left to check on another project. By Friday evening, all the OSB board was nailed down and ready for felt. The felt was applied early Saturday morning - Jeff was mindful of the potential for rain - and the felt was on before it did rain/sprinkle. Most of the remaining work was done Monday, with some additional work performed Tuesday and Wednesday. I am especially appreciative Jeff sealed up two areas where the stucco was missing with sealant and flashing. He also took time to explain to me why the gutter needed a bit of a slope in it. I am very pleased with the new roof and would use his service again. Thank you Jeff!

After receiving estimates from multiple roofing companies, we decided to move forward with Jeff's company. Jeff had performed a roof inspection and minor repair a few years back. Jeff was able to go over questions we had about available products and options. He was prompt with answers to additional questions we had prior to beginning the work. We felt we received a good price and great workmanship. The old roof was torn off, there was minor repair work needed to the existing sheeting and then the attic insulation, underlayment, cool roof shingles, vents were all installed. The gutters were installed the following day. We would recommend J Ratch Construction for any roofing needs.

Jeff was fabulous to work with. He was very responsive to all calls/emails and kept our appointments as scheduled. He and his crew left our house cleaner than they found it (after blowing off the roof they went around outside and cleaned up all of the debris and were very thorough). He made some very helpful suggestions (like purchasing extra replacement tiles, so we have more available if any have to be replaced in the future, as they aren't being made anymore and may be more difficult to find down the road). I was extremely pleased with his responsiveness, his communication, and the work performed. The project cost was accurate per the estimate I received. I would not hesitate to use this company again, excellent customer service and very reliable.

Excellent! Jeff was easy to work with, did a great job, and gave us the lowest estimate of the 4 roofers we got bids from. Our house is a 2000 sq ft one story with a large 3 car garage, which makes for a lot of roofing. He showed up promptly to give us the bid, was friendly, easy to understand, and explained the job thoroughly to us. The job started and finished as scheduled with no hang ups. The roof looks great! We would hire him again and recommend him.

Jeff sent out his best man for the job. The work was completed in a professional, thorough and timely manner. The garage roof repairs included replacing some of the plywood sheeting due to dry rot. Apparently, the original roof construction was not done properly in the areas where the leaks occurred. He also installed 40 lb. roofing felt to ensure against any future leaks. We were very happy with the repairs and to this day almost a year later we have not had any leaks on either of our roofs. I highly recommend the J. Ratch Construction company for any type roof repairs.

I am a bit late in this review as the work took place in the Spring 2015. I received 3 quotes for a leak I had in my roof. The quote I received from J Ratch was higher than the other 2 quotes I received. However, I still went with J Ratch because after reading the description of the planned work and after speaking with him, I could tell he seemed very knowledgable with the problem on my roof and his solution seemed more thorough than the others that came to look at it. I am glad I used J Ratch as I was confident in his work. He showed up on time and was very professional.

Jeff and his workers are absolutely outstanding! The job went like clockwork, exactly how Jeff explained it. Jeff and his workers were there on time every day. Jeff and his crew are experienced professionals and this shows in their workmanship. I have no complaints. I LOVE my roof , insulation and gutters! The building inspector was impressed too! And the biggest bonus, I have already seen a significant difference in my electricity usage. Thank you, Jeff!
