Jeff and his team knew what they were doing. They repaired a very problematic leak and replaced broken tiles on the roof of our 2-story house. They also proposed a unique solution to cap off some decorative external wood beams on the front of the house that were collecting water and exhibiting signs of wood rot (something we didn't even realize was happening). The ceramic tiles on our house were hard to locate, but he was able to find the correct ones, and we have some spare ones left over. It's been 6 years since the repair and we've had no issues.

Over the past few years, J. Ratch Construction has become my go-to company for roofing and dry rot repairs at my personal residence and a rental property. Highly professional experts that provide a clear and honest explanation of the problem, as well as repair options. They perform quality work at a fair price, which is completed on time and in an efficient manner. The next time a problem arises, I will definitely be hiring this company again.

Overall, Jeff and his crew did an excellent job and I highly recommend J. Ratch Construction, Inc. for a new re-roof. His pricing is good, less than most, up front rates/costs with no surprises. His team showed up everyday when promised, worked hard for 4-5 hours straight and straightened-up and cleaned every day. Workmanship was nice and professional, even the optional new sky light and custom gutters and down spouts were beautiful with fresh compliments from the neighborhood. At a minimum, I recommend getting a quote.

The roof was replaced as discussed. The price was fair and the work looks fine. The reason he got a "B" instead of an "A" due to two things. One, there was some clean-up that could have been better. Second, during the coronavirus outbreak, I felt he could and should have put on a mask to protect clients during interaction. I provide this as feedback and advice for him to consider for his future jobs. I do believe that the roof replacement work itself was of high quality.

Had some discoloration and water damage on the underside of my eaves from a leak. Jeff came out and gave me an estimate. Two days later he was there to start the work at 8am. They found a couple large holes where the wood had rotted through when they pulled up the tiles and still got everything fixed the same day. This is the second time I've hired Jeff (separate houses) and the work has been great both times. Total was $1,900

Working with Jeff and his crew of roofers was an excellent experience. Jeff was recommended to me by a neighbor. He came out within a few days of my call and provided us with a quote within a matter of days. Jeff was able to answer all of my questions and wanted to know that I understood all of the details. He gave me an estimate of approximately when the job would begin and then called me a couple of weeks prior to the start date to finalize the schedule. The job took about a week to complete. Everyday, Jeff and/or his crew of 3 guys showed up on time and when they left, they made sure the property was cleaned up. Jeff has a lot of experience and knowledge, and the job went without a hitch. His gutter subcontractor was also very professional and kept in communication. The roof looks great and I would highly recommend J Ratch Construction.

The owner, Jeff, was very thorough, professional, and communicative. I obtained 3 price quotes and he was the only one to catch a problem that the county would not pass inspection on if it wasn't replaced. Therefore, in the price quote there was nothing unexpected that would raise the price of the roofing job. Everyone who worked on my roof were pleasant, respectful and cleaned up after themselves. Because he does construction work as well I was able to have some additional work done while the roof was being replaced.

Jeff crews were very neat and efficient. They demo the roof the first day. The second day they fixed all dry rot and an inspection was called for the following day. No work was planned for inspection day as did not know time inspector would show up. The next two days they came out and finished putting up all the shingles. The following day the leaf guard gutters were installed. Then a final inspection was called for the next day. Jeff kept me informed of the schedule once the work commenced. His price was reasonable compared to some other quotes that I received. He does tend to have a backlog of work. We were 7th in line when we signed up with Jeff. He is in demand as shown by he always has houses in his backlog.

Good job and good, hard-working crew. Needed a lot of trim replaced around the house plus a little bit of siding. The big part of the job was replacing heavy, dry-rotted beams above the entrance to the house. While on the roof replacing trim around the chimney, they found serious dry rot and had to do additional work beyond the work order, which we'd previously agreed would be for an hourly fee. Separate, simultaneous job: Over 30-some years, the house had settled and the side door in the garage no longer fit right. They took out the door, demo'd the frame and rebuilt it, installed new door.

Jeff came out, on a Sunday! We greatly appreciated his time, effort, and honesty.

I waited a few months before writing this review, hoping to get a few rainy days to rate the new gutters, but I guess one good rain will have to do. Jeff was professional and made me feel very confident about this project, with his expertise and his honest assessment of the state of my roof, gutters, and need for dry rot repairs. Jeff did not try to sell me anything that I did not seek. Jeff walked this project through from beginning to end. NOTE: It seems to be standard these days with good contractors being very busy, so make sure to plan and then book your project early if you can.

Jeff is a professional and knowledgeable contractor. I appreciated his responsiveness and the attention to detail. I would use his company again.

Our attached garage had been leaking for a couple of years so we needed to replace the roofing on our 2 story home. Jeff Ratchford recently re-roofed our daughter's home and he also did the roof on a close friend's house. Both jobs were exemplary so we didn't hesitate to hire J Ratch Construction. We were not disappointed. The work was completed on a timely basis and in a professional manner. Jeff's recommendations were spot on. Care was taken in removing the old roofing, landscaping was covered and not damaged. Clean up was complete. Part of the roof had to be sheeted to meet city code and dry rot in several locations was taken care of. Six new vents were added to different sections of the roof resulting in a cooler upstairs. Jeff even fixed some flashing that was added the 1980s. This was the only thing the city building inspector dinged us on and it had nothing to do with the work completed in this job. Photos were taken before our Byers Leafgard gutters were re-installedby the Byers Company. Don't wait until it rains because J Ratch Construction is booked several weeks in advance. You will not be disappointed in your new roof.
