It took over a week for the owner to contact us, after we purchased the deal. After calling, we missed each other's calls for a couple of weeks. Then we did not hear from him for several weeks, until we called again. After this, we did get a time scheduled, and he went ahead and got the job done--very well, from all we see. The job was finally completed, about two and a half months after we purchased the deal. I'm sure he has been very busy, but it would have been helpful if he had been more diligent in contacting us to arrange a time to do the job. If connecting by phone call was difficult, a text would have been a very good and effective option. His work does appear good, and we would be willing to use his service again, provided he would make sure to connect with us promptly.

Jeff brought two workers with him. one to fix the eave and one to clean the gutters and clean the roof. I think they did a good job. the final test will be when it rains again. Jeff was pleasant to talk to. it put my mind at ease to know that my roof is in pretty good shape as my home is about 20 years old.

Jeff personally supervised all work and was fully responsive to all concerns. The result was an excellent new roof. He also went out of his way to accommodate an overly bureaucratic insurance payment process. He's great, and I would definitely hire him again.

My new roof looks fabulous and I was happy with the price. Also, this company was very professional, timely and clean. I did not have to worry about any of the issues my friends have experienced with other companies. I would absolutely recommend J Ratch Construction.

Mr. Ratchford was on time and did an efficient job patching the holes. He told us up-front that he couldn't give us a warranty because vibration from the HVAC would eventually cause another leak. (The other two roofers who gave an estimate said the same thing.) We did a 30-minute "water test" using the garden hose, and the patch held up well. We'll see what happens when we have another rainstorm.

Jeff arrived on time (early) and performed the inspection. He is friendly and professional. He also informed me area that might need additional maintenance. Jeff also promptly email me estimate on the additional work I inquired.

the deal on Angie's list was 150.00 for a fixed set of tiles replaced and leaks fixed. When I talked to him on the phone he suggested that I deal directly with him for 90.00. When he got to my house he went up on the roof and looked about then came down and said he couldn't do anything at this time, he'd send a quote (received later and in excess of $1000.00) and wanted the 90.00, which according to the deal was for the repairs, for just doing the quote. Total bait and switch.

Really good. Jeff was able to get the tiles (which are not being made anymore) and a few extras for us to have.

He answered promptly, came over soon after the call to inspect the property and give me an estimate. He explained clearly what he had found and my options for repair, keeping in mind the cost and how I could save money in the process by avoiding unnecessary and particularly expensive repairs. He proved to be very friendly, straight forward, honest and easy to work with. It is apparent that he knows his business very well. His crew was efficient and courteous and did a great job. I was impressed by the professionalism he and his crew displayed. I would advise anyone who needs construction or roofing to call him. I will certainly use him in the future as my number one person to go to. He is the type of person you dream of getting when you call a person you don't know to do a job.

It took a little while and several calls/texts to get the appointment scheduled. But once the appointment was scheduled, all went well. Jeff showed up on time, gave his professional and honest opinions, and got the job done on time. I also hired Jeff to repair some leaks in the roof after the tune up, and the job was done professionally and on time.

Jeff was very easy to work with. I called several other companies that never returned my call. Jeff was punctual and professional, and we were very satisfied with the work performed. I would definitely hire him again for future roofing needs.

They showed up on the day they said at the appointed time each of the four days it took to do the job. The workers were courteous and professional. They cleaned up all debris each day leaving the yard and the roof clean. I was given sufficient information of what was happening each day so as to plan for their arrival and departures.

Jeff got a cancellation and was able to fit us in quickly, even with all the rain damage business. He was prompt, welcomed all questions and concerns, and cleaned up after his crew. We would definitely hire again. We suggest getting on the roof periodically, as someone is working, to look and ask questions. If we had done that the last time (different company) we might not have gotten a shoddy repair.

Experience was great. Jeff came and assessed the skylight and determined the cause. Then covered the skylight so it wouldn't leak until he had an opening to replace it. Jeff ordered the new skylight and then installed it in less that a couple of hours. Excellent job and excellent service. This is the second time that we've hired this company. Jeff is a great person and easy to work with.

For both jobs, his bids are were line with other bids, the work was done very well and repaired completely. Jeff and his workers arrive when they say, work consistently and professionally. The quality that we most appreciate about Jeff is that he is a great diagnostician of the problem and in our experience fixes it correctly. He also goes the extra mile and looks at other parts of the roof for possible issues. We appreciated that he took time to check over the roof when he and the workers were up there. He takes pride in his work. The cost below is for the roof leak.

Jeff Ratchford repaired our roof. He was very professional and did an excellent job repairing our roof. We have not had any problems since.

He did an Excellent job. When he first came to our home he advised us he had full work load now that it was raining everyone was realizing they had issues. As busy as he was we really appreciated him coming out as soon as he did to fix our roof. We definetly would recommend him.

He did tell us before hand that he usually charged for an estimate, but when he got done he did not ask for a fee. I don't know if he has a different policy for Angie's list or not. He did not say one way or the other. He just told my wife on the phone that he usually charged for an estimate. At that point he did not ask for any money. I thought he was very good about being upfront with saying this additional product would be very expensive. I asked for a quote with and without that and he did it. He did a very good job in separating out the different costs, and giving us the estimate for a less expensive approach verses a cadillac approach. Over all I think its a good experience, he didn't seem to be rushed. It is a busy season for us out here so i was not surprised it took him awhile to come out. I would say his estimate was not out of line. Its been a few years since we had another roofer out, and I am just ball parking numbers and it was not out of line. It did take him a while to get out, and it took a different tries. I did not mind that, its a busy season. He has other jobs and its the rainy season, and had to come out when he was in town. He stayed in contact and communicated with me when he needed to reschedule.

Terrible. Basically paid 100 to have him tell me I needed to pay 700 more to him. I agreed to pay, but he would not schedule a repair. He said he was too busy. Not very helpful with a leak...

work not yet complete. Interior leak needs repair and sealing leaks around the hvac units on roof not yet complete.

Jeff Ratchford patiently worked with me and thoroughly answered all my questions. Excellent workmanship (commented by building inspector.) Pricing was on par with other estimates. I chose Jeff's company primarily because I saw the quality of work done on a relative's home. I am very satisfied with the work and highly recommend him.

Jeff is very knowledgeable and fair. He doesn't overpromise anything and does what's right by the client. Will definitely use again.

Great! Jeff responded promptly to every one of my questions. Although he's busy and had to schedule a few weeks out, he did the job in the window that he said he would be able to do it in. I picked J Ratch Construction because of his quick response time and based on my experience with other roofers. I had one roofer flake 2 times on an estimate appointment, but Jeff had a quote for me the day BEFORE it was expected! Another roofer insisted on doing a 2nd layer instead of a re-roof. I was skeptical about the 2nd layer because it was a 30 year old roof with a lot of dry rot. The quote from J Ratch Construction was only a little bit higher than the 2nd layer option and a few grand less than the the re-roof quote from the competitor. This made my decision to go with J Ratch Construction a no brainer.

Jeff and his crew were always on time and the job was completed on time, even in the 100 degrees weather. The shingled roof looks great. Even several of my neighbors made positive comments.
