The young man that came out to my house quickly and he unlocked my pc. He said that it was really slow and needed to be cleaned up and he would take it with him and bring it back. He originally charged me 85.00 to unlock my computer. When he too my computer for the cleaning, it was my error that I did not ask him for an estimate but he did not call me and give me and idea of how much that was and I spent and additional 400.00 for him to clean my computer. I feel he needs to brush up on his business etiquette and inform customer of his prices. Then I called another company to have a virus protection program put on and I was told that they wouldn’t put it on because my computer had too much junk on it.
Description of Work: He originally came out to unlock my computer but also performed a cleaning.

The technician did a great job. There were additional fees for outside of the deal. The hour did not get me much and he ended up being here for almost 4 hours. He did some software updates and virus protection. Scheduling was pretty easy also.

He came in and he was good but it terms of price that was quoted, I didn't really realize that it's a basic global price and I wasn't happy with that. It worked for a while and now it has a problem again and so I might call that guy back.

The coupon stated that the $49 would cover 1.5 hours of repair time on my computer. When he arrived at my house, he informed me that it would first cost me $65 for a diagnostic charge and additionally it would be another $200-$300 in resolving the problem (a likely virus). I told him I thought the wording in the coupon was misleading; it should have come right out and stated that there would be an additional $65 for diagnostic charges. Since I only paid $300 for my computer, I did not use his services. It was a waste of both our time. He mentioned earlier that he only makes $10 on the $49 coupon and has to earn a living for his family. I was annoyed by his statement. It isn't the customer's responsibility to support his family, and if he is going to offer a coupon, he has to accept the limitations.

This turned out to be a huge ripoff and waste of my time. Jeffrey Bilger aka Computition has very limited skills and was all about running up his time @ a ridiculous $80/hr and charging additional for freeware and licencing services. I am retired on a limited income and can't afford this theft. Most of his time was sitting waiting or texting. Didn't have his own laptop for researching problems, etc. He charged several hours but was not able to fix any of the problems I requested, including; Outlook slow start-up and emails stuck in outbox. Malfunctioning wifi adapter on my laptop, Unwanted pop-ups on computer start-up, Wifi surveillance camera issue, A proper tune-up and more efficient, faster start-up. All he did was defrag my drives and run a shareware malware removal program which he charged me an additional $180 plus $80 licensing fee (for both computers) before he would remove the "PUP" threats. He used "scare" tactics of likely massive computer failure to make the sale. He then rushed to my bank and cashed my check. Felling something was not right, I found the same program (malewarebytes removal) online for a total cost of $25 annual licensing fee for both computers. If fact he acknowledged it was already installed on my laptop. When confronted, he removed his program and promised to reimburse via Paypal, which he gave me his account email and I sent a money request for reimbursement. He has refused to honor his word or do the right thing and won't refund a penny, referring to his "no refund policy", which was not expressed to me either verbally or in writing during our time together. This young fellow has no scruples, is not interested in satisfying the customer, and has very limited positive and helpful skills. I tried to work something out with this guy because he claims to be financially strapped, but he stubbornly refuses any adjustment. Not only would I not recommend Jeffrey Bilger, aka Computition, but I feel compelled to warn others to beware of this predator.

He ran a bunch of diagnosis on my computer and put some security systems on my computer. He was knowledgeable. However, I didn't realize that the additional services (like security and so forth) was extra -- the $75 was just to have him come out for an hour. Once he was out, he told me it was an additional fee, which I paid. The extra stuff took another hour and then I paid for the services. Overall he was very pleasant and explained some things to me.

He was okay, but he was a bit pricey, which I didn’t like. He seemed like he was just adding extra things in, and I feel like the deal wasn’t what was advertised. He also didn’t come prepared and had to go back home to pick up some stuff.

They were timely. They found a number of things wrong with my computer. It's a really old computer and just sort of limping along. He's bought me a little more time before I have to buy a new computer. After they came, the computer is much quicker and much more responsive. If I had another computer problem, I would give them a call.
Description of Work: I used a big deal purchase for Comp-u-tition. The big deal just gave him the opportunity to tell me what was wrong. They fixed my computer. I had to pay an additional $250, on top of the big deal, for them to clean out things and to get some stuff done.

Since I don't know anything about computers, I thought $39.00 was a good deal. Jeffrey@Comp-u-tition was very helpful and explained everything to me so I would understand it. After telling me that my computer was running slow and needed a tune-up, which I already knew was part of the problem, he proceeded to fix it. I guess my surprise was that the tune-up, the diagnostic, everything was extra. He told me before he did it, but I didn't know that really nothing was included in the original $39.00. That was my fault, not his. He is very good at what he does and I would recommend him to anybody with a computer problem.

We were really disappointed. We purchased the Big Deal for my mother-in-law. The guy came over and looked at it, acknowledged all the issues, and said she would have to pay individually for each problem even though he wasn’t there longer than an hour and a half. He was probably there for about an hour and he charged approx. another $250 on top of the Big Deal coupon. You would think that the way the Big Deal was worded that it would be an hour and a half of whatever he could get done during that time. We probably wouldn’t call him again.

The service was fine. I paid an additional amount. He was okay. He installed the memory, but I don't know if it was a manufacturers problem. I had bought the memory, and I wish he had checked it. I am supposed to get back to him about that. I expected to pay more, but what I bought I thought was a lot. The service was okay, it wasn't great.

He started with my hard drive and attempted to direct me over the phone on what to do and that didn't work. He then came over and attempted to fix the issues, as soon as he left it happened again. He had also removed a virus protection software that I pay for each year which still didn't fix the issue. He did come back and reinstall the AVG and remove the Avast that he had installed. After he left, I found that my Outlook Express would lock up and I couldn't open anything. He told me that the hard drive had gone bad and then just told me that the version of Outlook Express was too old and I needed to update that and he wouldn't do anything further. He wrote out his bill as though he did two and a half hours and yet he charged me for five hours worth of service.

least 20 or 30 minutes discussing the purpose of his software. I was annoyed because it appeared that this was the purpose for his service call, and I did express this concern to him. He did follow through on setting up the computer. He appeared to be knowledgeable on the topic. He was thorough in answering my questions and gave me the opportunity for hands on practice. I'm still confused about the software, as to whether I needed it. However, I received one hour of computer service and the software for $50.00. It sounds like a good deal !
Description of Work: The purpose of the Comp-U-Tition service was to setup my new laptop computer. The service provider arrived on time. He greeted me in a friendly manner, and I explained to him what service I needed. He was slow to start the actual process of working on my computer; instead, he proceeded to tell me about the anti-virus software he had for sell. It was rather confusing, because I had purchased anti-virus software for the computer previously. We spent at

Not the best. Well, he came over and he cleaned up the computer. I had bought a disc of Window 7 and my computer was Window 8 and I couldn’t handle that and he was supposed to install that. He told me there was problem with the disc. It wouldn’t work and that he had his own version of Window 7 and he charged me another $125 for that. I sent the disc back to the company and they said it was just fine. There is no problem with it. He work on my net book and now when I shut it down there is some kind of air message every time and there is some programming running that I have to close out and its quite a bit upsell and he took him forever. It shouldn't take me that long to take off one operating system and put on another and then he left. I tried to use it and there is a problem so he had to come back. I really wasn’t very happy. It’s been almost a year now probably last April. I didn't try to get my money back. The quality – like I said when I close or shut down the program without having to shut something else off.

First off you need to know that I only operate the computer, by no means do I do or understand all that is involved in maintaining computer systems. The return visit was totally my doing as I was not happy with what I thought I would be and needed some additional changes made and may have one additional change made in the future which I definitely will use Comp-u-tition. Jeffery is very knowledgeable and enjoys working on computers along with dealing with the public. In my case he had three (3) systems to deal with and he did as I asked but unfortunately I had not thought things out completely which ended in a return trip. He gave compliments on some of the things he saw when dealing with the network and said that it was a "learning experience" for him also. Diagnostic, network configuration, data transfer, PC tuneup, lifetime license, eliminated viruses, etc, answered questions and I am sure there was more done then I can remember at this time. Senior discount was helpful and in returning also gave me a price break which was greatly appreciated. I will continue to use his service when needed...

I cannot grade this one because once he got here he said he doesn't work on Mac computers, so I paid for basically nothing. I tried to find this information out beforehand, but since a telephone number wasn't given, I couldn't contact him so had to just hope he could help me out. All that said....he's a very kind, helpful man, and I'm giving him an 'A' simply because I don't want to hurt his rating.
