Kay's Busy Maids

I gifted the service to the buyers of my house. They were happy with the results. I spoke to the owner several times for various reasons. She was personable and professional and accommodated our schedules.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it went just fine. They came out shortly after I purchased the Big Deal and this was the first time I have used this company. They did a nice job.

Only stayed 4.5 hours; there was still house that could have been cleaned.

The scheduling process started out a little and quot;rockyand quot; with some confusion over the wording of the deal, but at the end the two cleaners were prompt and very friendly and did an excellent job of cleaning the house for the new owners.

The service I received from A Kays Busy Maids was fine. The worker was very nice and did everything we asked. It was fine.

She was very encouraging and had good ideas for the sorts of files to set up. I needed someone to push me to throw away things I really hadn't been using, and she was good at that. When I said i'd take care of another pile of paperwork that seemed tedious to go through, she looked at me, unconvinced and said gently, and quot;I think when I go you'll just stop working.and quot; Which was probably true! I got a good deal with a coupon for their services and I'm not sure I'd pay more for the work we did -but I need help in finishing some other areas!

They showed up on time and were professional. They did a very good job inside the agreed time frame. They were nice.

I have already responded t this survey and rated the service excellent. Samantha did an excellent job, wasted no time, worked hard and definitely earned her money. I would recommend her.

Left key as I had to leave for work and left out cleaning products with instructions. Came home to find everything sparkling clean and done just right. Very pleased!

The service was okay, we had been expecting something a little more after the reviews that I had read, but we learnt later that the company is officially based somewhere in California and they have a start up group in Portland, which is where I live, so I am not sure if the reviews were for the main focus area or for Portland. They managed to come out pretty quick after we purchased a big deal. I don't know if we would refer them to somebody else, I wasn't there but my fiancee was there and she said that one of the people that came was on the phone a lot and they needed some specific instructions and for example, after they dusted the blinds and she had to tell them to lift the blinds to dust the whole ledge and just little things like that. Two people came and one of them was very good and the scheduling was nice.

It was excellent - the housecleaner was here on time and did an incredible job. I wish I could remember her name - she was awesome!!

It went fine. The place was really dirty and they did a good job. It was a huge improvement. The final job was not perfect. There was a lot to do. They spent a lot of time for the money. The deal was a great price. They were okay. I would not use them again.

I hate to give a bad review to anybody, but the housecleaning performed was very poor. My mother's home was completely empty and I requested a ceiling to floor cleaning to prepare for renting. Whatever cleaning was done was very surface and minimal. There were still marks not the walls that I removed with a little elbow grease, most of the cupboards and closet shelves had not been touched, nor had the inside of the refrigerator been cleaned at all. Although they came back again, the result was not much different. Given there was no furniture, I expected more to be accomplished in 6 hours of labor.

Poorly! I had to redo all the same work the next day.

That lady said not to use Angie's list specials and said, and lsquo;come directly to me and I'll give the same price', so we went directly to her but she was really, really bad. They charged $125 for four hours and that was the special and she used eco friendly products which I don't know if they did. I asked her to clean up all the four bathrooms but she was cleaning only where there was a stain and she wasn't doing entire floor but did spot cleaning. Everywhere else there were dust bunnies and it was just bad. I don't think so the pricing was really good. She was schedule to come on certain day and we thought I made an appointment for that day and the lady ended up coming a week before that and I told her that we had scheduled for a week later and that was scheduling problem. She was punctual. The job was very unprofessional.

They did a great job! Vira and her husband got quite a bit done in three hours. I love having my house this clean. They were careful with my belongings and worked according to my priorities. They arrived 1/2 hour late, I would have appreciated a call in that respect. It was due to traffic, not their fault.

Details of my encounters with Keri, and why I was so disappointed: Shortly after 9AM on 8-21-12, I called the phone number that I was given to schedule the appointment (503-830-8407). The woman who answered (Keri) asked me if I wanted to schedule my appointment with A Kay’s Busy Maids in California or Oregon. I said Oregon. I heard her ask someone to hand her something. Then she casually mentioned that she was “driving.” At that point, I said I’d call back later, and I hung up. Why put anyone at risk of injury or death just so you can book a housecleaning appointment! In my opinion, talking or texting on a cell phone while driving is unacceptable. It indicates irresponsibility and a complete disregard for the health and safety of others. I have no respect for anyone who does it. I believe that most clients of any reputable business would respect hearing a recorded message, such as: “Hello. I’m unable to take your call, because I’m driving. Please leave a message, and I’ll return your call as soon as I’m free. Thank you.”) I decided against trying to call Keri back later, because I couldn’t risk catching her while driving again. So, I sent a request to her via email that read: My Angie’s List coupon code is “Cleaning-354081-1” and it expires on 9-22-12. I’d like to schedule a “2 housecleaners for 2 hours” appointment. Any afternoon from Monday 9-17-12 to Friday 9-21-12 would work best. I’d like to talk with you to finalize the details, give you the service address, etc. Please call me when it’s more convenient. When I called this morning, you were driving.“ (I included my name and phone number at the end of the email.) Instead of calling me back, as I’d requested, Keri sent this email: We can do Monday the 17th. The girls come between 8-5pm to accomplish the four man hours ;) In her email, Keri failed to address my request for an afternoon appointment and my request that she call me to finalize the details of the appointment. (Apparently, she had no interest in learning that the billing address for my “Big Deal” coupon is not the address where I wanted the housecleaning done.) Lack of attention to detail is not something I want when hiring a housecleaning service. Also, Keri's use of an emoticon in a business email to a prospective client came across as immature and unprofessional. I’d had reservations about this company after my initial phone contact with Keri. Then when Keri disregarded my email request for a call back to finalize details for an appointment, I knew that this was not a company I wanted to patronize. I contacted Angie's List to apply for a refund on the Big Deal coupon, and I sent an email to Keri to cancel my request for an appointment.

I wasn't able to use the big deal coupon until it expired but she did honor it. She asked if I would pay for the gas and I did. They did a wonderful job, and the girl was just great and I gave her a nice tip. What I liked about her was that she was willing to do it in the first place, she was very nice about it and the person who came was very prompt, very friendly, did exactly what I wanted, and she did a very nice job.What I didn't like about it was that no one ever got back to me, I really like to have somebody come out on a regular basis, I'm surprised that they wouldn't follow up and see if I want to do that. I assume that these people do these deals because they want to get new business and they never followed up to see if I wanted to continue with them or not. I was completely satisfied with her work.

and quot;A Kays Busy Maidsand quot; played phone tag with me from 3/26/13 until 4/3/13 before I actually spoke with a person. Keep in mind I'm retired and home most of the time. I was then able to make an appointment scheduling my pre-paid housecleaning. The owner, Keri, is located in San Diego, CA and arranging housecleaning in Oregon takes a bit of coordination that needs some work. The appointment was scheduled for 4/15/13 with one maid scheduled to arrive between 7-8 AM. The maid arrived at 8 AM having only been notified about the work schedule the night before. The cleaning itself was done pretty well, but when I presented a cleaning priority list at the start, as suggested by the Big Deal Angie's List coupon, the maid, Samantha, seemed slightly confused, but after a bit of perusal she started on her way. I don't think she had previously seen a prioritized task listing. Most tasks were done although some that were left undone had been of a higher priority. I believe that may be a management item rather than the cleaner's fault. Samantha was busy for 6 hours cleaning, and for that I am greatful.

Total waste of time and money.

Not good. She left my home not FINISHING THE JOB. Went into the master bath and the rugs were still up on the bathroom counter. Then I left soon after she came and I don't know what she did. It looked very minimal though when I got home she wasn't there but when she got back she showed me the note she left that said she had left for lunch. And she should have told me that before I left.

While they were a few minutes late, I understood as my home isn't always easy to find. But, they went right to work and worked steadily for the allotted time. Both Vera and her husband Peter are lovely, good people and hardworking. They separated and got the work done in a good amount of time - especially as it really needed a good cleaning. Peter dusted areas that probably hadn't seen a dusting in way too long. I am very impressed with them as people and with the quality of their work!

My experience with them was fine. There was really nothing bad about them. They were prompt, and they did an excellent job in getting the house clean. They took extra steps, and they put some fresh flowers in the house when they had finished cleaning it up. The people that worked for us were good in all measures.

They were great and did a good detailed job. However, we would've appreciated them giving us a more specific time of when they were going to be here.
