Alex called to let me know he was on the way and arrived within the time period he gave me. He figured out the problem right away and quickly took care of the matter. He was very responsive to my needs and professional. Within an hour the work was done and the area was completely cleaned up. I was reloading my refrigerator an hour later when some cooling had taken place. I will definitely call her the next time I have a appliance repair.

It went well. He was on time, very qualified. Immediately diagnosed the problem. His price was very good. He was even able to give us suggestion on how to make our other appliances work better.

I called and explained to them that my refrigerator was leaking water on my floor. We made an appointment for two days away with a three hour time frame. I took off work to be at home. They did not show up, nor did they call. Particularly annoying considering they knew water was leaking onto my hardwood floor.

He called me back right away and was very responsive and professional. His rates are reasonable and I would use him again. In fact, I couldn't get my dishwasher to turn on yesterday, so I called him and he told me over the phone what to do. It was on delay mode and I didn't realize it or know how to change it. He knew right away what it was and coached me over the phone. It started right then and there. Wow. I was impressed. Thank you Alex!

We started hearing a continuous rattling noise in our dryer. We called to make an appointment at 4:30 pm, hoping to get an appointment for the next day. He said he would be there in 60 to 90 minutes that day. He arrived in an hou. He quickly found the credit card that had slipped through the lint filter and was stuck in the blower fan. There was still a slight rattle so he dug out some string and lint that was also there. The rattles were gone. He then vacuumed out the inside before closing it up. We are very happy with the promptness, efficiency, professionalism, and price.

I need to do two or three loads of laundry each day so I was not happy when my machine stopped working. After looking on Angie's list I made several calls to other appliance repair providers. I found there would be at least a four day wait for an appointment or I got an answering machine. I then noticed that Alex Appliances was highly rated and located near where I live. So I called and he answered right away. He was able to give me an appointment the same day. He then called about 20 minutes before arriving. He knew quickly what was wrong, had the part with him and was able to get my old machine up and running. I will certainly be calling him again for any other appliance repairs I need.

Alex Appliances did a good job. He had a thick accent so it was hard to understand him and he was impatient. I had a follow-up with them to find out where the parts were and when they will be returning to fix it.

My upright freezer had been out for 2 days and I was desperately calling everyone on Angie's List to schedule an appt since the earliest I was able to get was 72 hrs away. When I called Alex's he walked me through some troubleshooting steps, including checking the outlet. The strange thing is that a refrigerator is on the same outlet and working fine! However, it was the outlet or at least that one receptacle in the outlet. The freezer is back on and humming away! The important fact here is I have never used this company, but rest assured I will certainly use them in the future if any appliances break and tell all my friends about this wonderful company and their outstanding customer service. I bought a very large washer and dryer at a major big box retailer. They contracted out the installation. Which resulted in us calling the Fire Dept. upon our discovering there was natural gas leaking from the improper dryer installation! I called the retailer who promptly sent someone else out. They corrected the faulty gas dryer installation, yet left quickly without resolving the issue that now the dryer was preventing the entrance door to the garage from the laundry room from closing. Talking to the retailer did little. They now would not take the dryer back to exchange for a smaller one, but would send someone over to "assess the situation" --the following afternoon. We decided to just call someone who we thought would be reputable to fix the problem once and for all. I really wanted to keep the large dryer--a matter of switching the positioning of the machines and rearranging the hoses and lines. I called Alex late in the afternoon, and he promised to come out that evening, and did. He called me prior to coming over-- even calling back when I missed the first call. He quoted me the price upfront--it required materials in addition to the labor, and he worked efficiently, professionally and got the job done to our great satisfaction. But in addition to providing great professional service, Alex has a kind, quiet and honest persona. It was a pleasure working with him and I would 100% work with him again! I highly recommend Alex to anyone who is in need of a hardworking, professional and HONEST repairman. You cannot go wrong by choosing this wonderful company for your repair needs.

We've been working with Alex Appliances for the past five years and he is by far the most honest and competent of appliance repairmen services. He is very knowledgeable and does not try to take advantage of his clients. We have Viking Appliances that are about 11 years old and he has repaired our refrigerator, both our dishwashers, our cook top and both of our ovens over the years. The appliance once repaired generally works for at least a couple of years after his repairs. I can't recommend Alex Appliances enough to anyone with sophisticated (or easy!) appliances.

Alex doesn't work in my area because his shop is a long way away. I called him not realizing how far away he is. But even after determining he wouldn't come to my house, he went on to ask me about what the problem is with my frig and gave me some concrete and helpful steps to trouble shoot it further.

I called Alex and he was able to come in the same day to fix my broken refridgerator. He was timely and cleaned up the project. He called on his way to let me know what time he'd be there.

He was great, no problems. They were here on time, very courteous, and professional as well. I would use him again.

Outstanding, as always. Alex has kept the appliances in our home (refrigerator, freezer, washer, dryer, etc) operating for several years. He responds promptly to messages, keeps his appointments, and knows how to repair everything. He always can diagnose the problem quickly and always has the necessary parts available in his truck for an immediate repair.

We called Alex to check our inoperable ice maker since he had been one of the companies that serviced our refrigerator under an extended warranty. We no longer have that warranty, but were happy with his prior service. He made an aappointment for the next day, and showed up in the time window as promised. He first replaced the ice maker itself, then found that the controller circuits were not working, so he made us a price adjustment for the combination replacment. He had all the necessary parts on his truck, and was prompt and efficient at his work. He even looked at a non working gas fireplace in the living room and was able to get that working as well.

We called Alex when we found water gushing out of the bottom of our washer. He scheduled an appointment at our convenience two days later, arrived when promised, diagnosed the problem, and repaired it. This is the second time we have used Alex (he repaired our fridge last year). He is very professional - a quiet, intelligent guy who really knows his stuff. No question, he's the guy I'll call next time I have an appliance repair need.

Another company was the contact for 2 days and I had no response. When Alex was called, the response was within the hour and the repair was made the next day! Great service!

Everything was good. the price a but much, and he did not offer a angie list discount.

Alex gave an afternoon time window and said he would call to confirm he was on his way, which he did. He arrived ten minutes later, ready to go. He asked good questions and inspected the refrigerator before he explained the relatively simple steps (defrosting the freezer) I could take to eliminate the problem. He offered to stay and do it, but it didn't seem necessary. After defrosting, the noise was gone, the freezer and fridge were cold, and it was the best $35 I spent this weekend.

We noticed our refrigerator's freezer had stopped working this afternoon. We contacted Alex and he gave us a time he would be over this evening. He was here an hour earlier than he estimated, having called first to let us know. He also advised us a service call would be $35. After checking the refrigerator/freezer, he told us it looked like the mother board was not functioning and asked if we would like it replaced. He quoted us a price which we agreed to. However, after installing it, the fan started working and condenser stopped working. He told us he had a condenser in his vehicle, but didn't think it would work in our refrigerator. He also told us what the cost would be if he were to install the condenser (he could get another one the next day if the one he had didn't work). To make a long story short, we decided it would be better to get a new refrigerator than sink $$$ more into this one. We appreciated Alex's hard work and honesty. We would not hesitate to call him again. Not only did he show within 2 hours of calling him for our emergency, he was straightforward in his advice and didn't try to take advantage of us. In November, we called him about our washing machine, which wouldn't drain water. After verifying the make and model of our machine, he told us to purchase a new one as the cost for parts & service to repair our machine would be about the same amount. His advice was given over the phone and there was no charge. Not only will we use Alex Appliances again, but we will refer his company to our family and friends.

I called at 8am. Alex came at 10:15 AM and found that the safety thermostat had failed. He replaced the part in less than 30 minutes. He was professional and helpful

Our freezer/refrigerator suddenly stopped working. I called Alex on Friday and he was able to come out Saturday afternoon. I had called a number of companies trying to find someone to come out as soon as possible, and he is the only person who asked if the refrigerator sounded like it was running (it wasn't, but I hadn't noticed until he mentioned it) and who suggested I unplug it and then call him back if it didn't turn on after plugging it back in. This doesn't sound like much, but I was impressed that he provided such an easy possible fix and didn't just jump to making an appointment. He replaced the temperature control, and as of today (Wednesday) the refrigerator is still up and running. He was very pleasant and professional. He also explained why previous work we'd had done on the unit didn't last, which was very helpful!

I had a downdraft exhaust fan that was not working, which I needed to have fixed right away. I called several appliance repair businesses, but all of them would not be able to look at my fan for a week or longer. I saw Alex Appliances on Angies List and they had a good rating so I decided to try them. I called and it turned out that the business was a one man operation. He I had recently stopped servicing the area of town I lived in, but he said he would make an exception for me. He said it would be three days before he would be able to come to my home. Although I needed the fan fixed sooner, I agreed to have him look at it since I could not get anyone else to look at it sooner. On the day of the appointment, I received a call from the technician at the time of the appointment. He said he was running an hour late. To be honest, at that moment I was having second thoughts about using Alex Appliances. However, the technician arrived at my house approximately 50 minutes later and immediately got to work. He started to dis-assemble the exhaust fan and told me he had never seen one like this before. Again, I started to doubt my choice of repair services. After about 10 minutes, of examining the fan, he told me that it was a capacitor problem. Although I am somewhat mechanically inclined, I would never have thought that a capacitor would be the cause of the problem. I start thinking that I will be lucky to get the exhaust fan fixed by the end of the month. But the technician said that he thought he had a replacement capacitor on his truck. He ran out to get it, was back in no time, and had the fan going in less than five minutes. He spent another ten minutes re-assembling and testing the fan unit. He wrote up the invoice, I paid him, and he was quickly off to his next service call. Alex Appliances certainly proved to me that they deserve their high ratings on Angies List.

We had Alex look at a refrigerator problem and an AC problem. The refrigerator appeared to be running too cold even on lower settings. The AC unit was not cooling. With the refrigerator, Alex recommended to postpone repairs and, instead, test the problem differently because we did not have the thermometer positioned in a correct location and because we did not keep lettuce in the veggies bin. We might not have a problem to fix. We will do more testing and call Alex back to fix the temp control unit if further testing shows the refrigerator does run colder than it should. With the AC unit, it was low on refrigerant. Alex explained the pros/cons of re-charging, adding a sealant, and the possibility of having to replace the unit down the road if the unit keeps leaking the refrigerant. I decided to recharge and add sealant - this way, if the unit does loose refrigerant quickly anyway, we will know for sure we need to replace it. Very happy with Alex's services: honest, knowledgeable, and reasonable priced.
