Description of Work: Alex is prompt, courteous and a lifesaver! I will call upon his services again if needed.

Description of Work: Repaired issues with GE fridge, gave good advice over phone (twice) on follow up non related issues, to avoid repair cost.

Description of Work: We woke up in the morning to find that our refrigerator had quit. Most of the food in the freezer compartment was thawed to some degree, and the food in the refrigerator compartment was barely cool. I called our go-to appliance repair guy, but he was booked for 2 weeks. He recommended calling Alex, which we did. Technician Michael arrived about 3 hours later, right on time; he cleaned and adjusted the works and replaced a failed part, which he had with him on his truck, and all was well.

Description of Work: When we finally decided to relight the pilot light in the wall heater that heats our house, we couldn't get the thermostat to turn it on. We called Alex, who came and worked with the wiring, got the heater started, and advised us to do some work removing dust from the interior to keep it running well. His company has evening hours, and he was able to come the evening of the day we called. Alex told us about a free service SDGE provides to check out and turn on heaters. We had used his company before (Michael was the technician who fixed our refrigerator) and had been very happy with the service. If we had it to do over again, we still would have called Alex rather than SDGE.

Description of Work: The handle on my Kitchen Aid dishwasher broke. Alex came to the house, and corrected the issues that led to the handle breaking, which was the installation, and then replaced the handle. The machine opens and closes better than ever. He did what I needed him to do, his price was reasonable. His work was terrific.

Description of Work: Dishwasher needed new computer card. Ordered it and a few days later installed it. Serviceman was very amicable, efficient and neat.

Description of Work: Our washing machine was acting up. Alex came out to diagnose it and he suggested a repair that I could do at very little cost rather than having him do it (if I wanted). I'm handy, so I took his advice. Other than the home visit, he didn't charge anything.

Description of Work: Alex came to check on fridge making noise. As it was not making noise while he was here (of course)he educated me about fridges and gave me provisional diagnosis of noise. Very professional and knowledgeable. Will definitely call him if/when fridge finally seems to be gasping.

Description of Work: repair refrigerator/freezer by replacing a switch. They came promptly on a Saturday, where other co. did not return my call. I felt the price was high but service was on time and professional.

Description of Work: Alex advised (much to my surprise) that he does not book service appointments via Angie's List. Despite this "inconvenience," I still decided to book another appointment directly with Alex. He kept this new appointment and arrived on time. After he diagnosed the problem with my appliance and quoted me a price for the new part that seemed way too high, I decided to pay him his $35 service fee and politely decline his service. I then contacted another vendor who provided a different and much cheaper diagnosis that eventually solved the problem.

Description of Work: We needed the drum replaced on our dryer. Alex came out and looked at it, and gave us an estimate. He ordered the part and came back and repaired it. |My only complaint was that the part was sent to my house, and when he repaired it, he wouldn't take the old part away. I even offered to pay, and he said no. |Luckily my lawn guy did take it to the dump for me!

Description of Work: Microwave stopped working - he replaced the motor and afterwards not only did the microwave still not work, but he disconnected the power to the turntable so it was worse then when he started.

Description of Work: My freezer was not working correctly. I called Alex Appliances, and they came out the next day. The repairman evaluated the situation and told me my thermostat was failing and he would order the part, which would take about 2-3 days to get in. He called me the next day and said he was able to find the part, and came later that morning to install it. |
