A Kays Busy Maids

We purchased the Big Deal from Angie's List for eco-friendly cleaning. They arrived early and sent two people. They used eco-friendly cleaning products. We ended up purchasing an additional hour for somewhere around $60 to complete a few additional items, and we were glad to have that option. They did a good job and we would consider using them again.

I purchased one of A Kay's Maids Angie's List specials for a whole house cleaning for $255. I was able to get in contact with the company and set up an appt with no problems. The owner agreed that I could use the special for a whole house "deep" cleaning, so that's what I asked for and expected. The ladies did an overall good job on cleaning some challenging areas. However, one of the ladies (I think her name was Ula) did a much better job than the other. My long-unused guest bathroom is sparkling and I know Ula tried her hardest to remove an old floor wax ring I have not been able to get rid of. She also took on my dusty, cluttered-floor, desk-piled-with-paper office and turned it into a neat, dust-free, clutter-organized-and-stacked work space. I really just expected things to be cleaned around, not individually wiped down and put on shelves. Thank you Ula! I was not as pleased with my master bedroom (the bottom of a lamp was dusted, but the birdcage center was not touched), and master bath (was the floor mopped?). When this lady showed me what she had done with the door jambs I had asked her to take care of, I had to point out areas that she had missed. The living/dining room and kitchen were pretty good, but I found one of the end tables at a 45-degree angle and the table lamp askew and the rim around the kitchen sink looked like it was barely wiped, rather than scrubbed... I finished it up myself. There was no follow-up call from Kari (or anyone else) to ask about my satisfaction with the work, so this will have to serve as my feedback. I would welcome Ula back anytime, as long as any accompanying helper/partner was under her training and supervision.

The cleaning was fine. It didn't blow us away but didn't disappoint us either and owner of the company is very nice. However, it took more communication to get our time scheduled than I would have liked. When I texted to confirm that they were coming the next day I received a text back saying "she had me down for the following day". I certainly could have been the one that made the mistake but it isn't like me. We re-scheduled for a few weeks later and when I texted to confirm I again received a text back saying "she had me down for the next day". My response was "this is too much effort so lets forget it and just refund my money". Her reply was that she had me confused with someone else and that they would be there, which they were. The owner of the company came herself which was nice but makes me think she would have preferred to move my time and send one of her employees and that's why I was "scheduled for the next day". Like I said, the cleaning was fine but I get the feeling that if I wanted to use them repeatedly that I would have to communicate back and forth each time. That defeats the purpose of having someone clean our house, which is to free us up from having to deal with it. I don't envy the owner for having to try to constantly schedule and re-schedule clients as employees come and go, get sick, etc. but I don't want to deal with it either. Their pricing for service going forward was $189/month, which was more than I was willing to pay for the overall experience.

Excellent work from start to finish.

I warned them that my house is 4,000 sq ft, but only 4 bedrooms (and 5 baths). So instead of scheduling from 1pm - 5pm, they scheduled to start at 8:30am. The ladies called at 8:25 to tell me they would be a little late. The showed up around 9am, not a problem. When asked how/why I scheduled their service, I explained that we recently moved to San Diego and had a housecleaner at our old (and much smaller) house. So I explained I was interested in their normal rates, etc. They started upstairs with the bedrooms and bathrooms, then moved downstairs for livingroom, kitchen, familyroom and library. They were done by 1:30pm and in a rush to leave. The workers were pleasent, mostly responsive (some language barrier), and quiet. Most of the work was acceptable, with a few notable exceptions. 1) When dusting or cleaning counters, nothing was moved to be cleaned behind/below. This was very obvious in several places. 2) In the kitchen, the backsplash and tile on back of stove (up to hood) was not cleaned. 3) Vacuming, again nothing moved. I understand not moving recliner chairs, but dust bins or basket of dog toys should be moved I think. Overall I give them a B-. Considering this was a special to draw in new customers for repeat business and that I was the perfect prospect they could hope for, I was a bit surprised at some of the corner-cutting even if this is a big house (that means a nice repeat customer!). It may not be indicative of their normal quality of work, but I would not be inclined to repeat the experience. I did not contact Kays Busy Maids with a complaint etc, since the quality was OK, just not what I expected.

I called for an estimate. They were very professional and courteous over the phone. I ended up doing the work myself, however, due to my own scheduling constraints.

Will definitely utilize their services again when the need arises.

Overall, it was a good experience. Rosie was very nice and made sure we looked at everything before she left. I was happy with how the house looked.

Arrived on time, peformed as promised.

Keri called me back right away to set up a cleaning. She is very friendly. Two ladies showed up the day of the cleaning and got to work right away. They were effective, efficient and nice. I would like to use again.

Keri called me back within hours of my purchasing the coupon. We set the date, with an 8-10am arrival window. Rosie (I think - I may be misremembering her name) & her coworker arrived at 8:10. I showed them what needed to be done, and I suggested they start at the back of the house and work their way forward toward the front kitchen & front door. It included 2 small bathrooms, one bedroom, one barely furnished bedroom, a living room and kitchen. It's a small house, but admittedly I don't make house cleaning my hobby, I have a couple of cats, so there was some work to do, lots of dusting and vacuuming. Rosie said they couldn't start until they had the Angie's list coupon; my printer wasn't working, so I e-mailed it to Keri. They began work at 8:20. I worked out on the patio and stayed out of their way. Right at 10:00 they said they were leaving, their time was up. And, oh, they didn't get to the kitchen! They didn't ask if I wanted to review the work they had done, they just left. I was going to tip them after working so hard for two hours, but they left so fast, I was kind of stunned and wasn't going to chase them. I was pleased with the work they did accomplish. The trash wasn't removed from the bathrooms, which surprised me, but everything was sparkling and clean. They did get the counters in the kitchen, but don't appear to have wiped down anything else, and didn't get the floor at all, not even swept. They also didn't take out the kitchen trash. I was surprised that after getting there at 8:10, starting work at 8:20, they left right on the dot at 10. You have to assume their next appointment had the same two-hour window I had, so what was the rush? And if they had seen they weren't going to finish on time, I wish they would have said something to me 30 mins. out so I could have switched them to the kitchen. Technically they did what I asked them to, but I do think if they were going to ignore one whole room, let alone the kitchen, they would have said something before it was too late. So, it was close, but no cigar for A Kay's Busy Maids.

I needed to leave but gave them detailed instructions and asked that they stay until i return. When I returned they had left and did not clean my entire home as the coupon had described. They even left a rag in my garage disposal and didn't clean my tile floors. I went through the complaint resolution process and the issue was resolved.

We have the girls set to come back every two weeks starting next week. They did an amazing job the first time they came and got our apt deep cleaned and ready for every two weeks biweekly cleaning. I asked for the baseboards cleaned and they did it. I caught them cleaning my oven out and I was so thrilled because I didn't even ask for that to be cleaned. They went out of the way to get our place cleaned. They even wiped out the inside of the dishwasher. Plus they wear matching aprons and look very professional. They are easy to talk to and speak English fluently unlike the last cleaning girls. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a cleaning.

Overall, I would agree it was a wonderful experience. This was the second time the girls came to clean and they did the same great job.

I had the whole house cleaning-- and they did just that. Although the two workers were 15 minutes late, when they showed up and started cleaning, I was impressed. I briefly went through each of the rooms before they started any cleaning, pointing out where attention needed to be spent (probably unnecessary in hindsight), and they literally started at the back of my home and worked forward. I had a lot of dusting and many shelves and book cases loaded with items that needed to be dusted, and they took care of everything in a thorough and methodical way. The only minor complaint I have is that they left some of the mirrors smudged after cleaning, but they cleaned every surface-- as the ad promised-- and even organized a few areas to adequately clean and dust. While one of the workers did not speak much English (& I don't speak Spanish) but both workers were friendly, pleasant and professional. It was well worth the money.

Excellent job. I was very happy with how well my home was cleaned. I plan to use them again.

Efficient,creative lovely person to work with. I'd recommend sorting through and discarding what isn't needed. More efficient use of time.

The young women showed up promptly and started work right away cleaning my house. I had purchased a deal of three hours with two cleaners and they worked very hard the entire time, getting quite a lot done. They also were kind and tolerant of my little yappy dog as well as friendly and polite to me.

They did an excellent move-in cleaning of this home for my out of town buyers.

Two nice women (Rosie and Uda(?)) showed up on time ready to clean. First we did a walk-thru to discuss what needed to be done. I mostly wanted them to concentrate on bathrooms and floors. They did a thorough job and I just stayed out of the way! They dusted everything in all the rooms and put everything back where it belonged. This was just what I needed so that I can accomplish some other tasks. I would use this service again; A Kay's delivered what they promised. Thank you!

The girls Keri & Katie come every two weeks and clean the entire house. They show up on time, clean,very detail oriented every time, very professional. I would recommend them to my friends and family.

I called them back on Nov. 20 and they never called back. I had to call them and finally settled on an appointment on 1/23/13. I called them three times to confirm the appointment, They never showed up or called. I find this very unprofessional

I purchased one of the Angie's List deals for A Kays Busy Maids. Scheduling was easy. The day of the housecleaning we had a minor mix up with the time but Keri was able to get in and get the job done. I have a large dog who is an expert at shedding and I was impressed with how much of the dog hair was gone when I got home. It was really nice to come home to a clean house without having to do any of the work! They did a great job and I will use them again.

I keep my house pretty neat, but I can't believe how much better it looked after Rosie & her helper were done. They thoroughly cleaned all my floors and did the bathrooms & kitchen. Even though I gave them short notice (same day) and I'd never called them before, they came and did an exceptional job. I was extremely pleased and I *WILL* be calling them for a more permanent arrangement. Thank You!

Great experience -- Keri makes every effort to ensure you are happy with your experience. She will work with you on everything from the most convenient time, services and prices. After they leave, the house is spotless and everything is organized. We've used them several times now, and were so impressed we made regular cleaning appointments with them.
