+ -1 moreOn June 28, 2024, I hired Giant Movers to move my 3 bedroom townhouse to a 2 bedroom apartment. The movers arrived early and began on time. I had originally hired 3 workers, but you offered a 4th mover to make the move quicker. I assumed you would send more seasoned movers, but what I got were possibly one experienced person and 3 others who worked very hard, but were for sure not experienced. First, for such a move I believe either the truck was not big enough or the person managing the move did not know how to place items in the truck so that my entire house would fit. However, almost 6 hrs into the move I am told that the truck was 75% full. But how could that be, there was still over 50% of my items left in the house! I saw that your workers did not have the proper tools, using only brut strength; they had one dolly (possibly 2) and I offered the one I owned along with my work gloves. The crew then asked for a break to eat and I offered to buy lunch, so I went to the local El Pollo Loco, minutes later the crew showed up and we had lunch together before heading to the new place to unload. Before unloading, the manager showed me how much I was being charged and I could not believe it! $2404!! For finishing only a portion of the job! At that point, I just agreed and paid that amount before there was any unloading. Of course, I had to go back to the old place to find that the crew had left the garage and the front door wide open with many of my items in plain sight for many hours unattended. Because your movers did not complete the job, I had to rent two more uhaul trucks and hired 3 more people for 2 full days to move me, not to mention the countless hrs I (as a 65 y/o woman) put in. The move took me calling friends, hiring additional workers and trucks and an additional $1,000. I moved for 5 days, many days doing it alone averaging getting home at 11:30 pm.

+ -1 moreMovers arrived earlier than planned and graciously called ahead with a heads-up. The truck was large and the team came with adequate materials to secure and protect the load. The team lead was gracious but very firm. Overall typical level of service. Two suggestions for improvement: 1, crew should plan for and take scheduled breaks, perhaps every two hours, for larger jobs. The work started slowing and dragging after two hours. Team members started disappearing to rest after each load trip yet crew declined to rest and recharge. 2, crew didn't have body harnesses and straps to make lifting heavy loads easier. The effect of these was the move took way too long as about half the crew was working at any time after the first hour.
Description of Work: Have a four-man crew move already packed items for a larger 4-bedroom house across the city.

+ -1 moreGiant Movers made sure that I was taken care of without any shadow of a doubt, they took care of my every need and I don't know what I would do without them. I was moving across town and I wanted to have a company that took details seriously since I have a lot of antique pieces in my home. The people from this company came on time, wrapped everything with the upmost respect and details in mind and made sure that they got to my new house with no trouble at all and set up perfectly in the exact place I wanted them to be. Will 100% use again!
