Comfort 1 HVAC

I called Comfort to get an estimate to replace a ductless AC system in my living room. Ari came to my house and provided the estimate, which I felt was a fair price for the work to be done (remove the old unit, install the new unit, and haul the old one away). A couple days later Ari and his crew were at my house installing the unit. They ran into some unforeseen issue with removal of the old unit, due to some poor choices made by the original installer. This meant some additional drywall work to get the new unit in place. Fortunately Ari was on top of the situation and had the additional work done rather quickly. Through the whole process Ari communicated their progress and let me know of any issues that came up. I would recommend Comfort 1 HVAC for any AC needs you may have. And if you can, ask for Ari, as he is the best!

I was pleasantly surprised at the immediate response by the company after I signed up for the $69 coupon tuneup service on Angie's List. Rachel contacted me the same morning and scheduled an appt. for the next day. Ari called me 10 minutes before his arrival. He inspected the unit and advised that it needed extensive cleaning as did the condenser and more than the one pound of refrigerant on the coupon. He explained everything. He was going to return later that day to do the work, but called and asked whether I could wait until the next day. He arrived the next day on time and performed the service. I liked the responsiveness of this company. I'm sure they were busy during this current heat wave, but my job was completed within 2 days.

I needed a tuneup and some r 22. A technician came by and said that the evaporator was frozen. He would have to come back the following day and suggested I leave the AC off three hours before they got there the next day. I left the unit off all evening and all morning and when another technician came by he said it was still frozen. He took the unit apart and half *** put it back together . He said he would be back later. I told him anytime in the afternoon would be great. He never showed and never called and did not return my call. The following day I called and could not get a hold of him. I called again later and he said he was in a meeting and he would call me back. An hour and a half later I called again he said he was busy and I said when are you going to take care of this. He then told me that my evaporator needed to be cleaned and my condenser needed to be cleaned and some other work needed to be performed. I said isn't that included in the tuneup? He said no and what he described would cost me $600 to $800. I told him no thanks. He asked me how much I could afford? I told him the $69 tuneup that I had already paid via credit card. I said it was a $299 normal charge for $69. He said what I needed cost $600-$800. He kept prodding me to try to buy more service from him. I already looked into the evaporator and it was 98 to 99% clean. He was trying to shake me down and I think that guy should have his license taken away. I kept refusing his suggestion to pay more money. And told him to come and button up the system and put in up to 1 pound of r 22. He did not completely put the system together and tape the joints like they were. And I don't believe he added any R 22 because the system was no different. I had 2 to 3 pounds of r22 put in the unit. The AC works great and the house is 73°. Previous years I had another company check the unit out and put some r22 in the unit and it works great for about two years. It obviously has a leak, but works great when it has enough r22.

The technicians were polite and professional. They had to reschedule one appointment, but were good about contacting me about the change. They inspected my heating and air conditioning system and as I expected it was working, but it was old and needed ducts to be replaced. I asked them if their company participated in the HERO program. They do not. I requested a written estimate for replacing ducts. They had my email, and phone number, but I received no follow up call or written estimate. The $69 Angie's List special was money poorly spent. I was able to have the same inspection performed for no cost and that company gave me a written estimate on the spot for replacing the ducts and entire system.

It took a few tries to get the tech out here for the estimate, and there was a miscommunication about the installation date, but things were great other than that. The installation crew was very professional, worked quickly, and tidied up very neatly when everything was finished. The whole process only took a couple of hours, and the unit runs great!

They missed the appointment by a day. Had to reschedule which worked out fine overall. Would hire again.

It went well. Sean arrived on time and performed the service . He was helpful un telling want he was doing and what I needed to do to keep the system working properly.

It was a $69 special and when they came to do it they charged $660. They were supposed to do a comprehensive cleaning which took 20 minutes, you know. Then, they also put in freon which was $180 for two pints of freon. It was supposed to be comprehensive which took 20 minutes. They were professional. The guy was like one hour late and I had to call them to make sure he would come. He told me he would charge me this and that, and he did. I wrote a check, and I said please give me an invoice or receipt and he said oh, I forgot the receipt book and that he'll send me a receipt Monday after work, which was this past Monday. Tuesday I wrote them and ask if they would please send me a receipt or invoice and I got no response yet.

The addition of freon did not work. It was determined that there was a problem with the furnace and blocked pipes. It ended up that I had to replace the furnance and add a pump to get rid of water condensation that had been pooling under the house for years. I ended up spending $4,450. I felt the repairmen were honest, so I did not mind the unexpected expenditure. Overall I am very pleased with the results.

Performed a visual inspection, including the attic. Disassembled unit, cleaned and re-assembled. Topped-off refrigerant. Tested system and completed job. Heating and HVAC runs more efficiently, and cleanly.

The initial service was good except after they left we noticed that they did not replace the plate to the electrical breaker box. The service was fine and they were prompt. We have a 1 year warranty and now we are having troubles. They responded, fixed the issues, and now everything is running smoothly.

Comfort 1 HVAC did nothing to clean, tune-up or check for overall safe operation of the AC unit at my house as advertised. Nor did they add any refrigerant or check to see if any refrigerant was necessary. Instead they came, looked at the unit, looked at the fan, said both were dirty and that the cost would be $399/unit for cleaning and tune-up. I called and complained and they told me the owner would call me back. He never did. I left 3 messages but it appears they started screening my calls. A complete waste of money.

Work was done as promised for the price quoted, and couldn't have gone smoother. Professional, punctual and cleaned up after themselves. Very happy with the work.

Those guys weren't that great. They had a photograph of a nest and they came with something else. It was a little deceiving. I think I called them because it wasn't working right and I never got a response from them.

All I have to say is they have the best prices and top notch quality work !! Very professional. Great attitude. Hard working guys . They are quick and careful and know what they are doing . I suggest that you ask for Itay . I would give them 10/10 !! If you need AC installation this is the right place to call .

Everything went fine. The installation was almost completed in a day. They were suppose to come back the next day but came back a few days later to finish up. The results were good and they did good work

The system of HVAC was very bad condition. I was referred to this company by my co worker . They were on time and Libar is honest guy know his job very well in 3 hours he was done .

ITAY was very easy to work with and returned my phone call in 5 min . He promised to arrive same day and he did . He explained the process and said it's a small issue and didn't charge too much. Super nice guy with great attitude. I will recommend him strongly

Itay gave us excellent recommendations for the ductless air units we needed for our home which has no attic space. He was always prompt in his communication and appointments and his pricing was extremely fair. His crew did an awesome job of installing the units efficiently and taking great care with our home. True professionals and a pleasure to deal with!

From start to finish the crew was prompt and friendly; breaking down various options and adjustments for cost savings along w/ the upsides and downsides. In the end, the price was right and the turnaround time was amazing. Would definitely recommend. Just a real life saver for me and my family, especially going into summer. We had asbestos and the cleanup was efficient and safe and everything was above board which means we had permits and certificates to backup the work along w/ the companies guarantee. The work was completed so fast, a few days, the longest turnaround came from a slightly rude city worker who seemed to be having a bad day but even that was adjusted quickly when I informed Liz about the issue. Just a great, great professional job all around.

All things went well. Satisfied. Cooler in the house. A lot more comfortable.

Project went extremely well. I discovered Comfort 1 during our first June heatwave (110 degrees!) when our A/C went out on the Saturday afternoon before we were having 50 people at hour house on the following day. And my regular HVAC guy was on vacation. Itay and Juda came to my home at 9am on Sunday and worked until the system was up and running. I was impressed, so I asked them to bid the ducting project (which I had been putting off a couple years) and a separate HVAC system for the second story. Both estimates came in very reasonably, but I decided to do only the ductwork for this year. They did a professional and clean installation, and completed the project in one day, leaving the house as clean as when they came in. In addition, Juda came back the next day at no extra cost to install an Ecobee3 thermostat that I had purchased a couple weeks early. Needless to say I was impressed with this company and will most likely use them when I decide to upgrade our HVAC system.

Called Comfort 1 HVAC because we had quesitons about an offer. They told us to not buy the offer yet as they wanted to come out & take a look at the job related to the offer first. They said they would be there w/in a week, a week went by, they called and stated they had gotten busy and it was going to be another week or so and they would call us when they had more time. In the mean time, the offer expired, they told us not to worry, they would still come out & see what they could do for us. They have since rescheduled 3 times with us, I had taken time off from work to stay home and wait on them. They never have shown up.

Libar came in to meet with me before doing the job he was very polite and explained everything that needed to be done. The job was quick and not as massy and I have expected it to be. I am more them pleased with the job that was done.
